Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4
Chapter 7: Who Are The Sawyers Part 2
Kathryn woke up with a pain in her neck, like someone pinched it real good. She glanced around, silently noting the little details she could see of the room in total darkness. She could see objects that looked like stuffed toys on top of a dresser. Feeling around the bed she was on, she felt soft fur and plushness of stuffed animals all about the bed, which felt like it was covered with soft baby blankets.
"What kind of place is this?" she asked herself softly as she tried to get off the bed without it creaking loudly.
When she dangled a foot off the bed, she felt something hard and cold with a rounded like shape. Not quite thinking properly, she reached for the object she touched and realization kicked in as she felt two large holes that felt like they were eye sockets. She lifted the object and saw an old and partially broken skull.
She opened her mouth, letting out a withheld gasp and dropping the skull on the bed so that no one heard her. With her other hand she covered her mouth while she wiped the other on her pants. Suddenly she heard foot steps climb some stairs.
"I'm just gonna check on Hunter to see if she woke up." It was that man! The one who took Karen and killed the other man, Rick. Hunter, that was what he kept calling her earlier. And he was coming to check on her!
Panicking, she thought about hiding but knew that would not be a wise decision. He expected her to still be there, asleep or not. So she did what some would deem not entirely wise, she pretended to still be asleep.
"Hunter?" She heard the door hinges squeak as he entered the room. She did her best to look still in slumber but anxiety had her a bit shaken. How can one act calm knowing death was so close?
"You look just like your mother." he whispered softly.
My mother? Kathryn was confused, she and Melissa did not look much alike, in fact she didn't look much like Brandon either. Not to mention that she was sure her mother has never been here before.
"Lacie would have been so happy to see you again."
Lacie? Now Kathryn was beginning to worry, this guy has to be nuts! She had not a damn clue on what he was babbling about.
"And," he continued, rubbing her arm that was draped on her side, "I know you're faking being asleep!" He harshly grabbed Kathryn, lifting her off the bed.
The abrupt turn of events caused Kathryn to gasp and let out several whimpers. She should have known that he would see through her act, these were skilled killers she was dealing.
"Honestly Hunter," he said as he placed her feet on the floor but still held her waist in case she tried to run. Not that she would get far anyways but better he took the precaution than let her frighten herself. "I wouldn't dare dream of ever hurting you."
She squirmed a bit, trying to worm her way out of his grip, "Don't talk to me like you know me!" She continued to squirm, she always hated being caged by another human being. It just made her feel so helpless.
"Of course I know you!" he shot back, obviously offended that she said that. "You're my daughter!"
"No I'm not." she cried softly, "I'm not your daughter!"
"Yes you are." he shoved her onto the bed and picked up a photograph Baby left of Lacie and Tex. Lacie was never one for taking pictures of herself but he had managed to convince her twice, only she never lived to take the second picture. He shoved the small framed picture at Kathryn, "Look at this and tell me that you do not like either of us."
Kathryn was taken by surprise when he shoved her away to grab the picture, she was even more so when he shoved it in her face for her to look at. She looked at the photo, even at first glance she could not say that she didn't looked much like the woman and man. She had the facial appearance of the man and the body structure of the woman.
"This is your mother." He pointed at the dark haired woman, "Her name was Lacie Sky!"
Kathryn felt fear run through her, she may share more traits with these two but they were not her parents. Brandon and Melissa were! They had to be! "No! I don't believe you!"
Benny had easily found Rick's body, what Tex had left of it that is. He wasn't shocked by the brutality of the man' death but he was shocked to see that the man had met Kathryn, for her lucky charm bracelet was lying a few inches away from the body.
"Oh Kat." he sighed softly as he picked up the piece of jewelry. "Please be okay."
Standing from where he knelled, he took a quick assessment of the surround area. Naturally it had changed but also, Benny noted how many more traps laid around. Traps one would not notice when running away.
"Damn you!" he cursed as he slowly went through the maze of deadly traps. "I'll kill you all this time."
Kathryn found herself tied to a chair in the kitchen as Tex dragged in Chris from wherever they had her and the other students.
"Chris!"
"Kat!" Chris tried to force herself out of Tex's grip but the skinny man was surprisingly strong. "Let me go!" She jerked and twisted but to no avail.
"You ain't goin' no where!" Kathryn heard a different voice come from the room behind the kitchen where her suppose father brought out Chris. Leaning forward, she caught sight of a man with oily black hair and dark tan skin, He almost looked normal had she not saw that he was missing an arm and some of his fingers on the other as well as a patch over his right ear.
"Well well," the new face saw Kathryn and smiled, "Looky here, little Hunter's all grown up!"
"She sure is!" Kathryn turned to where she heard a mechanical voice, which came from behind her in the living room. She saw an old woman in a wheelchair with a mechanical voice box in her throat, standing beside her was Baby, the woman she had met at the gas station and forced them into this cruel fate.
"Welcome home cousin!" Baby smiled brightly, as if nothing was wrong and no one was dying. "You most certainly don't remember any of us so allow us to introduce ourselves properly."
Kathryn did not want to know who any of these people were, much less did she want Chris to think that these murderers were her family. No! Kathryn told herself, I am not one of these deranged psychopaths! I'm an Anderson-Jones!
"This," Baby started with the old woman in the wheelchair, "is Mama. She's our grandmother but we call her Mama."
A little boy suddenly popped out from behind Baby and introduced himself, "I'm Ezekiel but I go by Zeke!"
"Zeke is my little brother." Baby added, gently patting his head. "This is Uncle Tink," she pointed to the man with a hook as an arm.
Tink absently scratched his head with his hooked hand, making Kathryn nearly vomited while Chris stared at the man like she wasn't sure if she was seeing things right.
"My daddy is busy in the shed but he'll come out near dinner time." Baby leaned over to Zeke and whispered something to which he pouted and went upstairs.
"Now that you're reacquainted with us," Tink started pulling out pots while Tex forced Chris into an old discolored chair. "we'll do our best to welcome you back home."
As Kathryn watched Tink go about, gathering pots from under the island, she heard a hammer bang and Chris scream. Turning her head back to her friend, she screamed as she saw Tex hammer nails into Chris's hand so that the girl would be stuck to the chair.
"Chris!?" Kathryn tried to untie herself from her chair but Baby restrained her as Tex continued to seat Chris. "Let me go!"
"Now now," Mama said wheeling herself over to the girls, "don't go making trouble, it's bad enough we're restraining the girl."
"But she'd run if we didn't Mama." Baby argued as Kathryn continued to struggle.
"You would too if you were like her." Mama reasoned. "We must be considerate to our lost baby."
Tink only shook his head as Tex finished with the last nail, since Michelle's escape they found it much more suiting to add more nails along their victims' arms about two or three inches from the nails in their hands.
"She's gonna be losing her mind anyways," Tink stated, "especially when she sees what's for dinner!"
Chris's screams turned to pitiful whimpers as Kathryn watched the blood drop from the nails. Chris tried to not look at her wounds but eventually her head bent forward and sobs croaked from her throat. Kathryn knew that her friend was on the verge of hyperventilating.
"Chris.." Kathryn cried softly.
Tex returned to the Island, picking up a roll of a leather looking sheet. As he unrolled the sheet, the two watched the different knives and oddly sharp objects sort fall and roll out. It frightened them both beyond all reason.
"W-what are you doing?" Kathryn asked hesitantly.
Tex smiled at his little girl and answered, "Why, we're getting ready to kill our dinner!"
Tink had left as Tex spoke, dragging in something when he returned. "Hey Hunter!" he grunted as he drug the thing behind the island. "You know her right?"
Kathryn, knowing she could not ignore them if they called her Hunter, nodded her head.
"You know this guy?" Tink and Tex lifted the body of one of Nick's battling comrades, Timmy. "Do you?"
Kathryn gasped and felt herself hyperventilate, Timmy was badly beaten, his left eye was swollen so much that both Chris and Kathryn thought that if he tried to open it the eye would burst. Kathryn nodded to the question, whimpering as Chris also cried.
"Good, cause this is dinner!" Chris's scream sounded so loudly that no one heard Junior rev up his chainsaw and most were pleased when he shoved into Chris's side. Kathryn couldn't scream.
