Regina waited for Rumple in the diner, after Christmas things started to get better between them; they'd meet for lunch or coffee and talked about past. Every time something interested her, and he'd always tell her what she wanted to know. Soon Rumple walked in and sat with her, they ordered coffee and Regina asked him about Cora for the first time since she found out about him being her father.

"Do you have any good memories of my mother? I tried to think of good things in my childhood and there are not enough of them. Can you tell me some of your good times with her?"

"You have to understand that what Cora and I had was twisted, evil, complicated. Yes, I loved her, but that was because she was like me at the time, she only cared for power. One of my good memories of your mother was when she was with you. Sometimes, when she thought that no one was looking, she'd take you in her arms and sing lullabies until you fall asleep. And, in moments like that I would have thought that she really did love you."

"She couldn't have loved me, she didn't have a heart." Regina simply stated.

"No, Regina, when love is strong enough you don't need a heart, the only thing you need is courage to accept it and show it."

"And Cora didn't have that." She whispered and tried to stop the tears that were threatening to fall.

"Your Majesty…" Grumpy interrupted them but Regina cut him off.

"I am not a queen anymore, my name is Regina."

"Okay then, Regina, Rumpelstiltskin, there is something you should both know, Peter Pan is in town." Grumpy informed and walked away.

"No, he can't be here, Rumple, please, tell me he can't be here." Regina pleaded.

"I'm sorry, Regina. Let's gather everyone and then we'll find him." Rumple's thoughts immediately went on the prophecy.

Regina and Rumpelstiltskin gathered everyone and went to the town's square.

"I have to be the one to kill him." Rumple said and three 'No's were heard right away.

"I can kill him; you told me that I could." Regina tried to get him not to do it.

"No, I'm not letting you do that." Rumple responded and then Peter Pan appeared behind him.

"Hello, son, were you talking about me?" Peter asked.

"I need five minutes, I can't deal with you now." Rumple said, and froze his father on the spot.

"The spell won't work long, just enough time for me to say goodbye." Regina wanted to interrupt him so badly, but she kept her mouth shut.

"Belle, my beautiful Belle, I love you more than words can describe, you came in my life at my darkest moment, you showed me that I can be different, and I tried to change for you, and I'm sorry if I didn't manage to do that. I need you to take care of the two of them do the same thing you did to me, show them the light at their darkest moment. I'm sorry if I ever did something wrong, I didn't mean to."

"There is nothing you have to be sorry about, you made my life better and I wouldn't change a thing. I love you." Belle said, ran in his arms and kissed him. "This is not a goodbye, I'll see you again, Rumple." He hugged her and started to speak again.

"Bealfire… Neal, I know I have been anything but a good father to you, and on my path to find you I had hurt innocent people, I never wanted it to end this way. I'm your father, and I hope that one day you can understand why I did what I did, I'd bring down the heavens for all three of you." Neal also hugged Rumple and both Belle and he were crying. They knew he wasn't finished yet, there was one more person who needed a goodbye.

"Regina, my beautiful daughter, I wish we've had more time together, I wish that things were different, that I didn't had to hurt you so that this could happened, this is all my fault and I should take care of it." Rumple said and what surprised everyone was Regina who hugged him and then started to hit his chest, tears streaming down her face.

"You can't leave me again, don't you dare leaving me, I need to get to know you, I just found out…" She stopped hitting him and finally said "I need my father, it's not fair, they all got to spend more time with you, then I did since I found out. Let me do it, just let me kill him." Rumple put his arms around her and kissed the top of her head.

"You are right, it's not fair, but I can't let you heart gets darker because of me, again… Ask yourself would you have told me what you did if I wasn't about to die?"

"No, I wouldn't. But, it doesn't mean that I don't mean it, because I do."

"I know you do, this is why I'm doing this. Charming, get her out of here."

Charming took her without saying anything, Regina started to kick and scream, but he didn't let her go. Peter Pan unfroze and Rumple stabbed him with his dagger and they both disappeared. Belle crumbled down and started to cry even harder, Neal was by her side also crying.

"Let go of me! Please!" Regina begged but Charming didn't let her, he held her gentler that time. She buried her head in his chest, started to sob and started repeat 'He's dead.'. She calmed down a bit and stopped repeating, they stood there for a while, she cried and he silently cried with her and held her close. She couldn't be alone that time, so he'll be there for her, he'll be her friend, and he'll let her cry at anytime without taking it as a sign of weakness. After few moments she let go of him and whispered 'Thank you', she found Belle and Neal, she helped Belle up and told Neal.

"We need to take her back home or at my place. She can't be alone right now." And they did, they took her to Regina's. Neal left Regina and Belle at the living room and went to make tea, he soon came back with three cups of tea and put them in front of them, and he sat next to Belle and hugged her.

"Belle… Belle, you haven't said a word, talk to us." Nothing, "Please. We lost him too." Neal tried but she wouldn't speak. Regina also sat next to her, and she used a different approach.

"I know how you feel, trust me, I know what are you going through."

"How would you know?" Belle asked, still crying.

"He didn't tell you? I lost my true love, and I also kept it all in and look where it got me. You feel like you'll never be happy again, like there's a part of you that is missing, an emptiness in your heart you'll never be able to fill, I know, I was alone, but you are not, you have the two us, you have friends in this town, so, scream, yell, be mad at him because he left you, don't just cry and think your life is over." It was a low blow, she knew it, but she needed Belle believing and hoping, that was the only way that they could keep going and not give up, but not right now, they just need a little time.

At the well, the green smoke started going right in the middle of Storybrooke. The curse was just about to hit, they called Regina's house but no one was picking up. Snow and Henry went to her house to find her, they knocked but no one was answering, Henry moved the welcome map and found the keys. He unlocked the door and called for her. They found her curled up on the couch Belle next to her and Neal next to Belle.

"Mom, get up." Henry tried, but all he got was a weak 'No' from Regina.

"Please, the curse is here, we need you." Henry pleaded.

"Regina, do it. He would have told you the same thing." Belle said, she hoped that Regina would do that, for everyone's sake.

"Fine, I'll do it, Henry get Emma to the town's line."

"Why?" Henry asked.

"Because I said so!" She didn't mean to snap at him, "I am sorry, but you're going to have to do what I say… Snow, get ready to say goodbye to your daughter, we are going home." Henry and Snow left and did what she told them.

"Neal, Belle, do you want to come?" Regina asked, she knew Neal would come, but she didn't know about Belle.

"I'm coming." Neal confirmed her thoughts.

"I'm coming, too. Like you said we're together now, so I'm not letting you be alone." Belle said and was already on her way to the doors.

"Thank you… I think I have a quicker way than walking. Come here, both of you and hold my hand." Regina said and purple smoke started to round the three of them and they disappeared.

They reappeared on the town's line and the whole town was already there, waiting for them.

"Looks like we have company, how lovely." Regina sarcastically said. She kneeled in front of Henry and pulled him into a hug.

"I love you, my little prince, don't you ever forget that." She said even if she knew he was going to forget all about her the moment he'd cross the line with Emma.

"Ms. Swan… Emma, you and Henry have to go across the line, you will forget about all of this, and I'm sorry but that includes your parents. I'll give you happy memories, good ones, it will be like you never gave Henry up for adoption, and you'll have a good life. That's the least I can do, you just take good care of our son." Emma thanked Regina and went around the crowd to find the people she'd miss the most.

"Am I going to forget about you?" Henry asked Regina.

"Yes, you will, but, not completely, you'll feel like someone's missing, you'll have weird dreams about the time we spent together." She was right, nothing could be completely forgotten.

"But, I still won't remember you, I won't know how much I love you."

"This is not a goodbye, we'll meet again. You know, someone once told me that if love is strong enough the only thing you need is to accept it." Regina hugged him again.

"Sounds like a wise person."

"Yeah, he had his moments. Go say bye to your father, you have to get going soon." Henry listened to her and went to find Neal.

"He's going to be safe, you are doing the right thing, dearie."

"Rumple?" She looked around but the only one close enough was Belle, Great, I'm going mad, she thought to herself.

Emma and Henry were ready, they got in the yellow bug and disappeared out of sight.

"Focus, Regina, you can do this." Regina muttered to herself, she lifted her hands up and the cloud of green smoke started to turn into a purple one, the more familiar one.
