MJC: So, this is pitifully short. Like REALLY pitifully. I'm so sorry. This is one of the shortest chapters I've written since my first fanfic. I'm also sorry for the bad quality, and for Ran's weak fighting SKILLS. But, um, hope you enjoy anyways?
Chapter Twenty-Four
Disappearance
Third PoV
The cerise haired boy swung violently, alternating with Conwell and a phantom sword. Ran swerved, and ducked, and dodged beneath, or over, or around each swing.
He gestured forward, and a clone of himself attacked the remaining members of the party. Rena leaped, Raven rolled, and Elsa ducked. Ran himself ducked to avoid another slash.
"Sword Blasting!" Ran could not dodge the three phantom blades appearing and thrusting forward simultaneously. He retaliated with swing of a shadowy claw. Elsword parried with his sword.
Elsa came running up then, yelling a, "Sonic Blade!" Ran had little time for evasion, so he took it head-on, coming out surprisingly untarnished, despite the double crescent like swings.
Next came two corresponding attack from Rena and Raven.
"Giga Drive - Seismic Tremor!" Raven leaped forward, piercing the ground to create an earth shattering tremor erupt towards Ran. At the same time, Rena shouted,
"Aero Strafe!" Before practically flying into the air, and shooting a powerful arrow, which also seemed to shake the ground.
Ran than allowed himself to be engulfed in an aura of Awakening. With a shadow sword, he slashes twice at Elsword and Elsa. Elsa was knocked away, however Elsword somehow managed to remain where he was.
The gravity was reversed than, locking Elsword into the air above. In another second, he dropped, and the earth shook, knocking the boy away. Rena pulled a shimmering arrow back on her bow's string.
"Freezing Arrow - Sting!" Upon release, the arrow flew forward, coming into contact with Ran's heavily armored chest. It exploded in a frozen blue. Icy steam arose from him, and although the frozen effect would not last long, it was still long enough for Elsa to spring up, and attack.
"Sword of Victory!" With enlarged sword, Elsa swung down on Ran. He gestured again, and a shadow claw swiped her away soon after. Then it was Raven's turn, the first to not use a special skill. Instead, he unleashed a flurry of fancy swordsmanship while Elsword charged from behind. Ran created a clone, which properly distracted Elsword while he dealt with Raven.
Rena leaped into the air again, shooting down arrow after arrow, which proved to be a nuisance to Ran. Elsword, after taking a small beating from Ran's clone, charged up and yelled out another.
"Sword Blasting!" The three swords appeared, and thrust forward, along with Elsword thrusting manually with Conwell. Ran attacked back with a sword combination. The swords clashed.
With glinting eyes, and a vengeance, Elsword looked right into Ran's eyes. This confused Ran, if only a bit. What was the feeling deep in his gut? It was alien, but something registered in his head.
Fear?
"Blade Rain." Though it was hardly a mumble, Ran heard it loud and clear. It resonated throughout the room. Once again that twisted gut feeling returned, and Ran stumbled backwards. Despite that doomed feeling, his face remained in a mild scowl.
This, however, transformed into a pained look as Elsword's figured erupted into firy Awakening, and hundreds of phantom swords came into being.
In only a moment, those blades encompassed the two enemies in a swirling mass of razor-like attacks. Ran was barely on his knees, close to collapsing. Still, he smiled. He smiled a devious smile.
He once again activated his Awakening, and prepared an attack. With a fleeting glance at Glaive, and a sick chuckle, he reversed the gravity of the entire room.
Elsword looked at his feet. They weren't on the ground anymore. All those around him, everyone and everything, were all off the ground, too.
A great tremor shook the cavern. It rocked the walls, the floor, the ceiling. The ceiling crumbled a bit, leaving a gaping hole. Oddly enough, there was only nothingness outside. That was when Aisha woke up.
She was also floating, and slow with her assessment of the situation.
"Now no one will escape, and all their El will be drained. All their El will go to Ara. Ara." Ran slowly muttered, nothing less than his usual apathetic scowl painted onto his face.
The walls began to crumble. Rubble floated up along with everything else. The ceiling was deteriorating.
It registered that there was nothing out there, and that Aisha should probably do something. It was a bit hazy, but she still managed to come up with a correct incantation and magic circle.
With her finger, she drew onto the air a complicated but structured magic circle. It wasn't big, but with a simple spell, it expanded.
Around her, things were collapsing. People were panicking. Glaive was watching, curiosity being a wonderful incentive to watch the world around him be destroyed.
With a small whisper, Aisha's magic circle began to glow, attracting the attention of her comrades. Elsword's eyes grew.
"Hey, what're you doing!" He shouted, upside down.
"I'm teleporting everyone back to where they belong." She replied apathetically, giving a tiny smile to the boy.
"I defeated that guy for you, you know!" He hollered angrily, wishing that the damn anti-gravity would just STOP(or at least let him move).
"Thank you." And with one last smile, that magic circle grew brighter and brighter until it suddenly flashed blindingly bright, and they all disappeared.
Glaive frowned beneath his mask. Not even Ran was there to ease his boredom. Well, he would find someone else to cure this neverending emptiness. Perhaps someday he would fill the black hole. Perhaps someday.
"WHAT?!" Aisha Ostrum yelled, astounded of all that she missed. Angkor nodded in confirmation.
"That is what happened." He flapped onto her shoulder as she gave a somewhat forlorn look.
"Does that mean I don't have to return to Ri ever again?" She asked, a whine only tinting her voice.
"Perhaps. But who know where this life will take you. Who knows, maybe you'll end up in Eli."
MJC: So, yeah, sucky quality. But hey! We're almost done! I can't tell if I'm sad or happy, but who cares?
The last chapter will probably have better quality(hopefully), since it'll be the last chapter and all.
You know what, though? I DON'T REGRET HAVING A SHORT CHAPTER! 'Cause, in, like, published novels then there are short chapters. Just so long as most of the other chapters even it out and all. I'm making too big of a deal, aren't I?
Toodle-loodles,
