Chapter 9 Deception
Danny's PoV*****************************************************
"Hey, Danny." I looked up from where I was helping Sammy dress to see Kevin standing in the doorway. "I was wondering if we could talk about the plans for your education today."
I groaned. "Come on, Kevin! Why would I willingly go to school, where there are bullies, homework, and uncaring teachers? And Sammy can't go—she'd be made fun of for her inability to read or write, and be put in first grade! I can teach her all she needs to know, along with you."
"Doesn't matter." Kevin scooted Sammy out the door to go play in the park outside. "Now, I know you're trying to be protective here, but Sammy needs social interaction with people like her—not just normals and us, but other metas. Cory and I graduated a year ago from a school designed specifically for metas who don't want to be heroes, I set up an appointment for you with the headmaster today…."
Beast Boy's PoV**********************************************
"Aw, man." I muttered as I walked around the park. "Why does Cyborg have to be the one who goes on the super-secret spy mission?" I scuffed the ground in frustration.
"Meow." Looking at the ground, I saw the weirdest sight—a small, purple cat. It was pretty cute, with darker purple strips on its back and its tail wrapped around it.
"Hey there, little fella." I reached down and cupped my hands around the small cat. It barely fit into my hands. "What are you doing out here?"
The cat merely rubbed its face up against my wrist and purred loudly, making me laugh. She—at least, I thought it was a she—began climbing up my arms, her claws pricking my skin a little through my costume, to stand on my shoulder. Her rough tongue tickled my cheek as she licked me. "Hey, that tickles!"
"Beast Boy! Come in, Beast Boy!" I picked my T-phone to see Robin on the screen. "We're going to get Cyborg out of HIVE academy! We need you back here right now!"
I took the cat off my shoulders and held her out in front of me. "I'm gonna have to go now. I have to beat up some bad guys. But I'll be back to see you soon, okay?" The cat gave me the saddest look a cat could give—ears flat on her head, eyes big and wide—and I was almost tempted to take her with me.
But I didn't, because, after all, she's only a regular cat. A purple one, sure, but still a normal cat.
Time Skip Danny's PoV******************************************
"…Of course, most students dorm here as well, but we'll be happy to work something out if you wish to continue living with Mr. Montgomery and Kevicorl'dor." I rolled my eyes without Brother Blood seeing. For the past two hours, I've been given a tour by this man, and, to be honest, this school seemed like a load of trash. It was apparently just a school for metas when Kevin and Cory left it—the two of them are 18, not that it shows—now it seems like a school just for villains, no other options available.
"What about the security of this school? I don't want any heroes just busting in because they believe you're raising the next generation's villains, or a super villain looking to mind control us all." I deliberately let it slip that I knew what the school was for, and knew that he's been trying to control my mind for the past hour. He's failing, though—nothing short of Freak show's staff will ever be able to control this hafta again.
Brother Blood's eyes widened before he answered. "The security is top-notch here, Mr. Grayson. We take our student's safety very seriously. And as for any 'heroes'…" An evil grin stretched onto his face as he stepped onto a hover square. "They will be dealt with immediately. Would you like to observe?"
"Sure." I shrugged. Not my business if a couple of heroes get their butts kicked. The hover square flouted to a room where the Teen Titans were trapped. I quickly pulled up the hood of my sweatshirt to hide my face. Damnit. Does it have to be these heroes?
"The Teen Titans." Brother Blood sneered. "So nice to meet you. I'd introduce you to my students, but I'm fairly certain that you've already met."
"Attack Pattern: Alpha!" The supposed leader, a buff, grey kid who's muscles would put Dash to shame, yelled. The four jumped off the column they were on and attacked.
"This is our best team here at HIVE academy." Blood explained to me as the Titans were getting whopped. "NO MERCY!" He yelled at them as the short, flying kid's missiles missed. "Their leader is a new student, Stone, along with Jinx, Mammoth, and Gizmo. Together, they should be more than enough to take down the Titans, and put your concerns about security to rest, Mr. Grayson." Robin seemed to hear our conversation and tried to leap towards us, only to be tackled by Stone.
"I watched the Titans defeat a monster made up of 3 unkillable beings last week. I'll believe it when I see it." I scoffed, inwardly laughing as Stone got tackled into a wall by Cyborg, only for the haft robot to be thrown out of the wall. The rest of the Titans were put into a force field and Stone began to knock the crud out of Cyborg. Due to the power of his punches, one of Stone's rings broke, causing him to become… Cyborg!?
"As you can see, Mr. Grayson, the charms of HIVE can even sway a hero away from the supposed 'light'. How do you feel about joining us now?" I could feel Blood probing my mind again, which was really starting to annoy me.
"I KNEW IT!" Screamed Gizmo as the others stared in shock. "THE STINKING BARFBAG IS ONE OF THEM!"
"No." Blood contradicted as the hover square landed us right beside them. I took the time to place a small tracker on the robes of Blood, which he totally didn't notice. Since guys like him always look in people's minds for any trick, they never expect that someone they can't read will betray them or anything. "He's one of us, now."
"And I'm ready to prove it."
"I had a feeling you'd say that." Blood sneered. "This will amplify your power by the magnitude unimagined." Cyborg put the canon thing on his blaster. "Destroy them for me, and you'll have your reward." Cyborg slowly walked over to where the Titans were being held captive. Not listening to their pleas, he focused the blaster on them… only to launch it back at Brother Blood?
The telepath raised a red shield to block the blast, only for it to reflect and hit the ceiling. This caused an instant reaction—the demolition of the school. "A foolish choice, my friend." Blood snarled as he backed away. Thinking quickly, I turned invisible and stuck close to the Titans—after all, only a fool would follow the losing side. "Very foolish."
"You could have been one of us." Jinx told the haft robot, making me think that there was some romantic tension between the two.
"I could have been a lot of things." Cyborg launched a blast at the force field, causing it to break, as the villains escaped. Robin told Raven to get them out of there, and, as she did, I reappeared, the only ones seeing me being Robin and Cyborg. Then I went ghost, and teleported out of there.
Yay, an update. I have a shout out to PoopFace, a guest, and SuperExcremental (who I think is PoopFace, but whatever.)
Please stop arguing on my comments. PF, SE, you don't like OCs, slash, or gayness. Okay, I'm fine with that. Guest, you like those. There is NO reason for you two to be fighting, especially on my comments. I thought you both were talking to me, and almost got depressed. JUST STOP THE MADNESS. IF YOU CAN'T BE NICE TO EACH OTHER, I WILL DELETE YOUR COMMENTS. COOL YOUR DAMN JETS.
Thank you, dear readers, for putting up with my mini rant. Happy New Year! (Unless your new year is at another time. Then, just be happy anyway.)
