Danny woke up with an unexpected weight on top of him. It was the first night they had spent together actually sleeping since the motel. Even that night was a mess. They stayed awake almost all night cuddling and Danny fought sleep so he could be awake if Ethan needed to talk. As usual, Ethan didn't talk.

Danny did discover one fun fact about Ethan when he slept—he was all about body contact. There wasn't one single moment in all night when Ethan wasn't in contact with Danny's body in one way or another. Danny loved it. If Ethan were awake right now, he would complain, but mainly to make Ethan pout. He loved that even more. Danny just stayed there, softly caressing Ethan's back, even if it was hot as hell beneath Ethan and the blanket

He had lost his complete concept of time, just laying there, stroking Ethan's hair. Eventually, Ethan began to stir in Danny's arms. Ethan dragged his knuckles over his eyes.

"I'm hungry," Ethan muttered.

"Good morning to you, too." Danny smiled, leaning into Ethan and kissing his forehead. "You know where the bathroom is. I'll make us some breakfast."

"Mmm..., you fuck me, you keep me warm and you cook for me. I'd trade lot of good camels for you."

"Just go," he said, laughing and trying to push Ethan off him, but the boy fought back, keeping Danny below him. The human rolled his eyes, which caused Ethan let out a soft smile

"Good morning kiss?"

"You are u-" A pair of lips didn't let him finish the sentence. It was a light kiss at the beginning, but it wasn't light for long. The kiss grew to be rough and hungry.

"Mm…I think I know what I want for breakfast," Ethan whispered. "And it's served raw," he continued, lowering his hand and caressing the bulge in Danny's boxers.

"We don't have time. I let you sleep and we have to be in class in half an hour, " Danny objected. When he saw Ethan's expression, he started to feel a little guilty for denying Ethan his request. Danny rubbed his nose against Ethan's. "I'll make it up for you, I promise."

"Ok, ok," he said, annoyed. "But I'll make you keep your word."

"You don't have to worry about that."

They were on their way out when Ethan stopped Danny. He looked at him for a few seconds and then proceeded to fix his jacket and his hair.

Danny sighed. "I wonder how I was able to dress myself before you," he said, sarcastically.

"I have no fucking idea, but I am a lot better at undressing you."

[...]

"What the fuck Ethan?!"

This was going on for almost a week now and it was starting to get on Danny's nerves. Almost a month of serenity with Ethan had vanished in a blink of an eye. He was back to acting the same way as before. The secrets and his ability to not say what was really on his mind were beginning to make Danny rethink their entire relationship. Before, Ethan would usually be more reserved than usual, but he had changed and was becoming more passive aggressive with his actions.

"I don't know what's wrong with you and I can't help you unless you actually talk to me, Ethan. I am here to help you—I want to help you. You were so relaxed and happy a few days ago. Can't we go back to that?"

Ethan lowered his gaze, not sure what to tell Danny exactly.

"It's like you're deliberately trying to piss me off," Danny said to Ethan.

That got his attention. Suddenly, everything Danny had told him was begging to hit him like a shot of silver to the heart. Ethan knew the pain he was feeling was guilt. He and his brother were trying to redeem themselves to everyone and although the True Alpha seemed open minded about them, Isaac, Stiles, and Allison didn't seem to open to the idea of the brothers. To Ethan, there was no need for redemption when he didn't have Danny's forgiveness. He felt that he deserved to be hated by Danny, which would explain his behavior. So, he didn't say anything. It was probably easier for Danny to hate him anyway. Putting an end to the fairy tale sooner was a lot better than later. It was for the best.

At the lack of response Danny snapped. He eventually broke into wry laughter despite the tension in the air.

"I really can't believe you, Ethan. Are you that much of a coward that you have to push me into breaking up with you?" Danny crossed the room and moved to open the door, holding it open for Ethan. "You know what? I'll give you what you want. You can leave, Ethan. I'm done."

Without a word, Ethan stepped forward and wrapped his arms around Danny, holding him tight.

"Ethan," he breathed out as he tried to push the boy away. "Let me go."

"I don't want to let you go. Not now, not ever," he whispered to Danny, squeezing him tighter. "I'm sorry, Danny. I just don't deserve you."

Danny didn't understand that. If someone didn't deserve someone it was the other way around. Danny was a good guy, but he could be harsh, sarcastic, and didn't take anybody's shit (unless they were close friends and only in particular occasions). He could be glad when bad things happened to people he didn't like (like shitty old boyfriends). Ethan was always calm, quiet, and polite. He didn't even fight back when Isaac beat him and Danny knew Ethan was surprisingly strong. He put his hands on Ethan's arms and once more tried to pull him away

"Ethan, just go."

"Please, don't say that. Let me stay." He nuzzled against Danny's neck. "Please."

Danny felt Ethan's breath against his skin and visibly shivered.

"I don't get you. I don't understand you," Danny sighed, completely exasperated. "But, God, I love you. I fucking love you." The words were sweet, but the voice was bitter.

"Show me. Let me feel it." After Ethan said those words to him, Ethan lifted his eyes to Danny's and fixed him with a look that he knew Danny had always had trouble resisting. Without fail, Danny leaned in and kissed the werewolf square on the lips.

All the times that they had sex before, it was always playful and usually a fight for dominance that Danny used to win most of the time. Sometimes it could even get a little rough.

This time was softer, but much more intense. Ethan knew he needed to come clean soon, but he wanted to create the perfect memory of Danny. His movements were slow and measured. The feel of Danny on top of him, his scent that drove Ethan to the point of insanity, and his tender voice was enough to keep his memory sated.

Danny was moved by Ethan's actions. He had never seen Ethan this vulnerable before.

Late at night, Ethan's head was resting on Danny's chest. He didn't need to check to make sure that Danny was asleep. The pace at which is heart was beating let him know that he was halfway asleep.

He whispered: "I do, too. I love you."

For a moment, he thought it would be better if Danny didn't hear it, but even if the human didn't say a word after his confession, the skip beat his heart made definitely answered.
