Danaya's POV:

"Argh…" I groaned, trying to pick myself up. I didn't have the best landing. I opened my eyes and squinted, trying to locate where I was. "Alisa?" I called out. My voice echoed throughout the entire…room? Place? *Is this the Farplane?* I questioned myself as I looked around at the enormous bed of purples flowers. Pyreflies swam around and even circulated me. I stood up and grabbed both my and Alisa's weapons, only to find Alisa lying on the flowers a few feet away from me. "Alisa!" I shouted as I ran over to her, placing her head on my legs. "Are you okay? Alisa. Alisa, wake up!"

Alisa made a small noise and slowly opened her eyes. "I'm fine," Alisa answered as she got up from my lap. The two of us stood up, and I handed Alisa her sword. She fixed her rumpled skirt and looked around the Farplane. "We're in the Farplane, right?" I nodded my head. She sighed, "Oh Yevon, how in Spira are we going to get out of here?" I took out my communicator and tried to contact Iyana, but nothing worked. There wasn't any signal. Alisa and I walked around, but all we could find were flowers and pyreflies. Just then, Alisa gasped. I turned around and found her staring at something forming from the pyreflies. I ran over to her and almost dropped my sword in shock. Our parents were standing right before us, but they were spirits of course. "Mom…Dad?" Alisa whispered.

Our parents smiled and nodded. "Hello, girls," Mom greeted us. Alisa ran to hug our parents, but she went right through them. Dad chuckled, and Alisa slowly walked back to my side.

"Sorry, girls. You can't exactly touch us anymore," Dad pointed out. He scratched behind his head. I was almost speechless, and I couldn't get any words out of my mouth. All that formed were tears from my eyes.

Mom cut in, "Danaya, I know what you're thinking. Don't be sorry for us dying. You girls will be okay."

"What's going on?" I croaked out, tears falling down my cheeks. "Why are you here? Why did we fall? What do we do about Uncle Rhys?" I had so many questions because my parents were the ones I usually always confide in. My mom smiled at me with bright eyes.

"Danaya, we can't explain how you got here. But we are here because you asked us for advice. You asked us what you should do about everything. Danaya, you are old enough and mature enough to figure this out. Honey, your Uncle Rhys should be okay. You need to focus on finding this woman first. Don't strike in head-first without thinking," Mom advised.

Dad added in, "Don't forget to punch Rhys when you rescue him. Tell him I said he was an idiot." I smiled a little at that comment. There was a peaceful silence for a while, but that was then disrupted by another shake.

"What's happening?" Alisa called out. Our parents moved to protect us, but in the blink of an eye, they were gone.

"We love you, girls…" was the last thing we heard our parents say before they disappeared.

Alisa and I shouted, "Mom! Dad!" A large snake-like fiend dropped down from some platform and worked its way towards us. The two of us readied our swords and attacked the snake head-on. It was massive, making me feel slightly scared.

"Kōsen!" Alisa shouted. Kōsen, or Light Ray, was an attack of Alisa's that she perfected just a year ago. Alisa dashed to the snake, but stopped short and jumped up. Her sword struck the ground and formed the cracks. Light rays whipped through the cracks and rushed at the snake, attacking it heavily. Followed by that attack, Alisa stayed in her place as I used her sword to jump up high in the sky.

I readied my sword and yelled, "Energy Rain!" Balls of energy formed from my sword and shot out towards the snake, launching attack after attack on it. The snake hissed loudly, the sound resonating throughout the entire Farplane. After landing from my attack on the snake, the sound hit me, and I covered my ears. I dropped to the floor in pain as the hissing sound sort of stabbed my ears. I heard Alisa shrieking in pain, so my eyes shot open, knowing I needed to save my sister. Uncovering my ears, I grabbed my sword and struck the snake once again. I attacked continuously, not leaving any time for the snake to counteract. I grabbed Alisa and dragged her a distance away from the snake as I took out a Flash Grenade and threw it at the snake. Alisa and I covered our eyes, but we opened our eyes right away to unleash another attack.

This time, I distracted the snake by casting Blind on it while Alisa charged up for her attack. Her sword raised in the air, Alisa closed her eyes as a bright white energy gathered up around her sword. "Light Zen!" Alisa called out as the ball of light traveled above the snake and formed a small cloud. Once the small cloud descended, it hit the snake with multiple status ailments. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to throw the snake off. My Blind had worn off, and the snake whipped the both of us with his tail. Unlike I, who only slammed hard into the ground, the snake grabbed Alisa with its tail and slammed her harder into the ground. Alisa screamed in pain, and I heard a slight crack.

"ALISA!" I screamed out. I ran over to her and cast Protect and Shield. I threw a Smoke Grenade at the snake to distract it just for a minute, enough time for me to flip Alisa onto her back and begin to heal the bottom of her spine. *I won't let you get paralyzed…No way…* I thought. Analise tried to communicate with me, *Danaya! Summon me…* I shook my head, my mind clouded with panic. I left Alisa and made my move towards the snake. Casting Haste on myself, I rushed forward and plunged my sword into the tail of the snake. I pulled out my sword and jumped up. "Dark Inferno!" I called out, my sword flaming up. I struck the snake on its head and landed down. Right after my fire attack, I cast Holy, followed by a Flare. The snake was so dazed and weak by the time I cast my second Holy, so I plunged my sword on the ground. Using my sword as a lever, I jumped up high into the air and spun around. I landed an aerial kick right between the snake's eyes. My kick sounded throughout the Farplane with a thud, and I landed weakly as the snake burst into pyreflies. One of my legs gave out on me as I limped towards my sword. The pyreflies scattered throughout the air, and I made my way slowly towards Alisa.

She opened her eyes when I got near her, and she tried to get up. "Danaya…are you okay?" Alisa asked weakly as she rubbed her back. I chuckled.

"I should be asking you that," I muttered as I helped her up. We had cuts all over us, and my left leg was bleeding a lot. Alisa tried to heal me, but I stopped her. "Alisa, save what's left of your energy," I insisted.

"Save your energy, indeed," the both of us heard someone say. Alisa and I got into defensive stances, ready for whatever came next. When Makero showed up from the shadows, I tightened my grip on my sword even more.

"You…" I seethed, pushing Alisa behind me. Makero smirked and stood there without drawing any of his swords.

Makero offered, "Alisa…come with us. Mirage and I will help you learn how to control your powers and do even greater things with them. You can become the most powerful White Mage there is and even surpass your sister and parents in terms of power." I narrowed my eyes and watched as Alisa didn't budge.

"No," Alisa rejected the offer and stood her ground. Makero didn't scoff or laugh; he simply nodded.

"Very well then." There was a sickening silence, and I felt uneasy. In a flash, I summoned Analise as a precaution. Makero smiled. "I've always wanted to test myself against an Aeon," Makero explained. Analise smirked confidently, her silver armor shining brightly. She lifted up her blade and shield, ready to fight Makero.

Before letting Analise fight, I demanded, "Where's our Uncle? What have you done with him?" Makero didn't answer me, and I just got angrier. This time, Analise asked him.

"Bring. Rhys. Back," Analise ordered, her mouth tightening. Makero didn't answer, so I was forced to order Analise to attack. She rushed towards Makero at lightning speed, thrusting her sword towards him. Things went by too fast, as by the time Alisa and I were able to catch anything, Analise was sweating bullets. She rushed at him again and slid underneath his legs, hitting him in the back with one of her feet. Makero turned around, grabbed her foot, and twisted it. Analise untwisted herself and punched Makero in the face. He dodged, pushing her back and back flipping away.

"Analise…" I began, trying to help Analise out. "Holy Stars!" Analise nodded and gladly raised her sword into the air. While she gathered energy in her sword, Alisa and I both sent small fire balls to distract Makero. He dodged each and every one of them, just enough time for Analise to power up her sword. Once Analise brought her sword down to the ground, shining stars of light rained down on Makero, as if they were tiny comets. Makero managed to dodge most of them, while some of the light pierced through his body. He sustained his injuries, and I didn't even see a sign of struggle in his face.

"Thorned Flower!" I called out. Over the years, I trained with Analise in creating new moves for her and helping her improve her aeon techniques. Before performing her new technique, Analise, Alisa, and I all threw smoke grenades towards Makero. Then, Analise jumped up into the air and threw her shield up. Her shield began to glow light pink, resembling a flower. She then pointed her sword towards Makero, and the shield began to produce millions of senbon that flew towards Makero. We heard a slight grunt as Analise formed her other hand into a fist. The senbon that stabbed Makero would curl up into a circle, increasing the pain. Analise uncurled her fist and flicked her sword up, forcing the senbon to return back and form her shield. Once the smoke cleared, we found Makero still standing. His right arm was bleeding, and there were spots of blood on his left arm. His shirt had been ripped through, but he still stood strongly. He didn't seem that damaged by the attack, and we were shocked. In fact, Makero chuckled.

"Time for this to get serious now. How long were you girls going to keep playing around until you decide to have an actual fight?" Makero taunted as he replaced his Thin Greatsword with his Twin Longswords. I backed up, a little scared of what was going to happen. "Silence of the Wind," I heard Makero whisper as he formed a cross with his twin longswords. There was a loud ringing sound in my head, and I think Analise and Alisa could hear it, too. I covered my ears and closed my eyes, hoping the ringing sound would go away. It did go away, but pain surged throughout my body as I screamed in pain. It felt like my whole body was cut in half. I dropped to the ground, bleeding in various places of my body. Analise remained standing, but she was hit really hard. Alisa dropped to the ground as well.

"Makero, now is not the time," Mirage announced as her voice resonated through the Farplane. Makero nodded and disappeared in a flash.

I whispered, "Analise…dismiss." She looked back and forth between Alisa and me, staring at us with worry. "Analise, go. Heal up." She nodded and reluctantly disappeared, pyreflies taking the place where she once stood. I breathed heavily, the pain too much for me to bear. I noticed Alisa trying to make her way to me. "No!" I exclaimed. "Heal your…self up first…" I felt my eyelids growing heavier, and it became harder for me to keep them open. I could hear Alisa calling to me weakly, saying she would be at my side soon. As my head began to get lighter, I shook my head. The last thing I heard was my mom singing and calling out to us.

The sound of my communicator buzzing woke me up. I groaned and lifted my head up, and I reached for my communicator. I opened it up and whispered, "Hello?"

"Danaya! Finally! Where are you guys? We've been trying to contact you, but you wouldn't answer," Iyana rambled. I whimpered in pain.

"Besaid Temple. Chamber of Fayth…" was all I said. I had no energy left to say anything else, but I mustered just enough to crawl to Alisa, who was unconscious and lying near the hole. The pain was so unbearable that I couldn't even pull put a Potion or cast a Cure. Once I got to Alisa, I rested my head on her stomach and just sighed in relief. My eyes were closing again, and I blacked out.

"Mommy! Mommy, am I going to have a little sister?" 3-year-old me asked my mom. The scene was so clear: my parents were sitting on the couch with me on my father's lap. Mom had a huge baby bump, visible to all of Spira.

Mom giggled and nodded while replying, "Yes, Danaya. You're going to have a little sister."I jumped off from my father's lap and started to punch the air.

"I'm going to protect her no matter what! Hi-ya!"I shouted enthusiastically. Dad grabbed me by the waist and threw me up.

Dad explained, "I'll protect the both of you first before any of you do some protecting. Daddy will always be here for all of you. I'm the knight in shining armor!" I watched as we all embraced the soon-to-be Alisa.

It's funny…I've always believed what my parents had to say back then. I pictured them and us being together forever. I still believe that my dad is still our knight in shining armor. Mom and Dad will always be here for us, Alisa. Always.
