Chapter Seven
It will be a mixture of Anna's and Nathan POV from now on.
Elrond, Glorfindel, Erestor, the twins, Legolas and Estel all were sitting in chairs or on the couch when we walked in. The Boys and Bianca sat down on a couch while I bowed to the assembled Lords.
"Vedui' hir nin (Greetings my lord)." I said to Elrond.
"Vendi' Eruanna (Greetings Anna)." He replied motioning for me to sit down.
I did and then looked around at the other elves in the room, "Lord Glorfindel, Lord Erestor, Saesa omentien lle (Pleasure meeting you)."
"Saesa omentien lle (Pleasure meeting you)." They said nodding in greeting.
I then sat down and waited for Lord Elrond to speak.
"Strangers from distant lands..." he began.
"Can we skip to the point?" Nathan asked impatiently.
Elrond sighed but turned to me, "How do you wish to proceed with this Eruanna?"
"Well do you want to ask questions?"
"That might be best." Glorfindel said, "As we probably wont understand otherwise."
"Then ask and we will answer the best we can."
~~~~~~~~~~~Time passes~~~~~~~~~~~~
Three hours later, we had told Lord Elrond our story.
Bianca hailed from Rohan, and had met Nathan, Michael and I when we had arrived at a small city in Rohan. We hailed from Gondor and lived in the lower levels of the white city. We had quickly become friends. When asked how Nathan Michael and I met, we had answered that our parents had been killed by orcs, and we had had to become family in order to survive. We had all seen Elladan and Elrohir wince at the mention of our parents being killed by orcs and had looked sympathetically at us. I had thrown the look right back at them because, out of the four of us, only I knew what had happened to their mother.
Elladan and Elrohir were escorting us to our rooms. Elrohir took Nathan and Michael to a guest room near the twins and Estel's room, and Elladan took Bianca and I to another room. When we walked in, Bianca and I gasped, the room was beautiful. I walked over to the windows pulling back the curtains and looked out. Right below us were the palace gardens and farther to the right were the archery fields, I knew Bianca would love to go work in the gardens while I marveled about the archery fields.
"Elladan!" I called hoping that he had not left.
"Yes Eruanna?" Elladan asked turning around to look over at me.
"Could you teach me archery?" I asked.
"Of course, I would be happy to." He answered, "Although Elrohir is better than me at archery."
"Are you good at sword fighting?" I asked, eager to learn that as well.
"Yes that is my main weapon, I will be glad to teach you that if you want." He said.
"Of course I want to learn." I said, almost jumping up and down. Then as he turned to leave, I thought of something else and called him back. "Do you have any musical instruments here?"
"Yes, Pianos, harps, and flutes. Why? Do you play?"
"I play the piano, but have been looking at playing the harp and flute."
"Well talk with my fathers advisor, Erestor, he would be happy to teach you."
"Okay, thank you Elladan."
"You are welcome." He replied as he left, walking out and shutting the door.
Bianca and I walked around the room looking at all of the items around it. If you stood in the doorway, you could see all of the room easily. There were two beds, each one of them big enough to hold Bianca and I, and a table in between them. On this table were two candlesticks, which I assumed were for light, and a pitcher of water. There was a dresser off to the side and it was filled with long dresses. I looked at them with disgust and decided that I would get my clothes from my backpack. Bianca however went over and pulled out a dress.
"Look at this Anna," she began.
"Eruanna." I said, automatically correcting her. Before we had left Lord Elrond's Study, he had suggested having elvish names found for us and I had agreed. Having previously figured out our elvish names, I had been quick to suggest names. Eruanna for myself, Silivrenniel for Bianca, Antien for Nathan and Eraisuithon for Michael. "What is it?"
"Isn't this dress beautiful?" she asked, holding it up and spinning around.
I stuck my tongue out in a childish display of displeasure. "I think I will stick with jeans and T-shirts."
Bianca quickly changed into the dress while I pulled on some leggings and a T-shirt. After we had gotten dressed, we decided to explore. We walked out of our room and into the halls of Rivendell.
We left our rooms and turned to the right and walked along the corridor, but then came to another split in the halls, one went to the left and another went straight ahead.
"Which way should we go?" Bianca asked me.
I shrugged and reached for my backpack. "I don't know, I don't think that it matters," I said, pulling a piece of chalk out of my bag. "As long as we mark which way we go."
Bianca cracked up, remembering the wilderness survival class that we had taken together. One of the things that had always stuck in our minds was that we should always mark our trail so we could get back. "Maybe string would be better, that way we don't mark up Lord Elrond's walls..."
"Oh who cares, the twins and Estel have probably done worse."
After deciding that marking the walls with anything would not be polite, we decided to just wander and hope that we did not get lost.
After two hours of wandering around even I had to admit, we were lost. I turned to Bianca and shrugged helplessly, "I have no idea where we are."
"Neither do I." she replied, looking worriedly at me.
"Someone will come along eventually," I said, "The boys will miss us eventually."
We got back up and wandered around some more, and then I saw an open door. "Maybe there is someone in there," I exclaimed pointing to the doors.
We both walked toward the room, and we arrived just in time to see Estel come flying out with Elladan and Elrohir at his heels. Elladan and Elrohir were screaming at their "little" brother that they were going to kill him when they caught him. I say "little" because Estel was as tall as they were, if not taller. I snagged Elrohir as he ran past, "What is going on?"
Elrohir paused and looked at me, only then did I realize that his hair was dyed navy blue. I felt my jaw drop and I almost chocked trying not to laugh in his face. "Did Estel do this?" I asked once I had some control.
"Yes," he growled, "Will you let me go so that I can kill him?"
"No, "I answered, ignoring the glare he gave me. "We want a tour and you are going to show us around so we don't get hopelessly lost everytime we turn around."
Elrohir looked after his brothers and I could see that he was torn between being polite to his fathers guests and his own quest for revenge.
"I will get the dye out of your hair first," I offered, knowing that I could very easily. I watched as his eyes lit up and then led the way back to our rooms. When we arrived I went over to my pack and I pulled out some dye removal gel. Leading him over to the sink I propped a chair up against the edge. "Lean Back." I ordered him. I wet his hair and poured some of the gel into his hair, then I began to wash the dye out. Ten minutes later his hair was its original brown color once again.
"Thank You." He said, as he towled his hair dry. "I will never be repay you for that. Can you help Eladan too?"
"Of course," I said. "Tell him to come to our rooms."
"Already did."
I stared at him, amazed, but then it hit me, "Your bond, Right?
"Yes how did you know?"
"You two are quite the legend. Especially after all of your hunts." I said. Just then a knock came on our door, and I called for who ever it was to come in. Twenty minutes later both Elldan and Elrohir were giving us what they called, "The Secret Tour". What this meant is that they would show us all the cool hiding places and fun things to do, along with telling us where everything was.
Later, just as we finished the tour, we all heard the bell tolling, this told us that it was time for dinner. As we trooped into the dinning hall, the twins directed us to the high table in the front of the room. Estel stared at the twins as they sat down, no dye in their hair. The twins and I exchanged glances and I smiled, dyeing their hair wouldn't work anymore. They knew exactly where to come of that happened.
