Chapter Eight

Anna's POV

As soon as the twins escorted Bianca and me into the dinning hall, we went over to sit with Nathan and Michael at the high table.

"Hey you two," Nathan said as we sat down. "What have you been doing all day?"

"Shooting things," I said as the servants set down plates of venison and salad in front of us

"What do you mean shooting things?"

I looked over at Bianca and smiled. "Elladan and Elrohir showed us around and that included going over to the training grounds."

"We got to train with bows, turns out Anna is a natural. So we went hunting." Bianca said looking over at Michael and asking him, "What did you guys do?"

"Wait a minute, " Nathan said, "Do you mean that you shot what we are eating right now?"

"Yep," Bianca replied.

"And it was a very clean shot." said Elladan from behind Nathan, and he jumped startled.

"Right through the eye," Elladan continued. "You are lucky she had a bow. Otherwise we would be eating just salad right now."

"Oh Dan," I said, blushing. "I'm not that good. It was beginners luck."

"It looked as thought you had been doing it for years." Elrohir said sitting down next to me, "You were a natural."

"Well we will see tomorrow," I said crossing my fingers. "But just you wait, I will be horrible tomorrow."

"We wont be practicing with you tomorrow." Legolas said as he sat down next to Elrohir. "We are going to Mirkwood."

Nathan's POV

Anna shrieked as she heard those words. "We are?" she asked.

"We are," Elladan corrected. "You can't come unless you convince my father to let you go."

Anna stood up and, with a dangerous glint in her eyes, walked toward the doors. I stood up and looked at Bianca, "Where is she going?" I asked, even thought I had a good idea.

"To convince Lord Elrond that we should be allowed to go to Mirkwood."

I shook my head and left to follow her, I had to make sure that she did not say anything that she would later regret. She did that occasionally as I walked to Lord Elrond study, I found myself wondering why Anna wanted to go to Mirkwood so badly.

I arrived at Lord Elrond's Study just as Anna began to talk.

"Hir nin (My Lord)," Anna began. "Could we go to Eryn Lasgalen with Legolas and your sons?"

"Why do you want to go to Mirkwood Eruanna?" Elrond asked.

"I have always dreamed of going to see the Halls of Thranduil, King of Eryn Lasgalen." Anna replied.

"You have no weapons training and would only be a burden to them."

"I can shoot a bow just fine," Anna said "And I know how to defend myself with a sword. I can defend myself and so can Nathan, We can defend our friends to if needed."

"Who said your friends want to go to Mirkwood?"

"I will go," I said, deciding to help Anna out. "It would be fun to see these woods that Anna is always talking about."

"So two of you want to go, " Elrond said, "What of the other two of your traveling group, Silivrenniel and Eraisuithon?"

"They can stay here if they don't want to come." Anna said

"I don't think they will want to come anyway." I commented, "They seem quite happy to just settle down in Rivendell."

"And you two aren't?"

"No we are not," Anna said softly.

"We are not saying anything against your city, hir nin (My Lord)," I continued Anna's thought. "We just want to go and explore."

"We are just that way, cant sit still for two long."

Elrond sighed and stood up, walking over to the window. "You can go..."

Anna and I looked at each other in astonishment, "We can?" Anna asked, just to be sure.

"Yes you can." Elrond said turning around and smiling at us. "Tell ionnth nin (my sons) and Legolas you will be accompanying them to Mirkwood in the morning."

"Thank you hir nin (My Lord)." Anna said breathlessly as we turned to leave.

"Eruanna, Antien?" Elrond said as we walked out the door.

"Yes?" I replied laying my hand on Anna's shoulder to stop her.

"It is just Elrond."

"Yes Just Elrond." Anna said, as I stared at her.

"Anna," I hissed, "Be polite."

"No, It is okay." Elrond said, "I set myself up for that one."

"Yes you did." Anna replied, smiling "We had better go pack."

"What do we pack?" I asked as we walked back toward our rooms. "What?" I asked at the look she gave me. "It's not like we could just throw stuff together a suitcase like always."

"Nathan, we can just bring our backpacks and pull stuff out." Anna said like it was obvious, and frankly it was the most obvious choice.

"Why didn't I think about that?" I asked the ceiling.

"You would have," Anna said, "I just sort of planned this out from the minute that I walked out of the dinning hall."

"Smart." I said smiling as we walked into the dinning hall together.

Anna's POV

I cannot believe that Elrond said we could go! 'And' I thought, 'it is all due to the fact that Nathan helped me. Not that I will tell him that.'

Elladan Elrohir and Legolas looked up as we walked over to the table where we had been eating.

"Well," Elladan asked, "What is the verdict?"

"We can go," Nathan said.

Elladan's face took on an astonished look, "You can?"

"How did you get Lord Elrond to let you go?" Legolas asked.

"A little persuasion." I said.

"And," Nathan added, "Elrond is really easy to convince."

"Do you two want to come?" I asked Bianca and Michael. "You don't have to, but you are welcome to if you want to."

Michael and Bianca looked at each other before Michael replied, "No we would rather stay here."

"Bianca?" I said looking over at her.

"What he said," she said.

I was surprised; Bianca usually did not allow anyone to speak for her. "If you are sure..." I said, and was surprized when she nodded. Then I noticed Elladan standing up and start to walk off. "Where is he going?" I asked Elrohir, knowing that the younger twin would be more likely to tell me then going after Elladan and asking him.

"He is probably off to talk to Ada (Dad)." Elrohir replied, "Asking why he let you come along."

Me and Nathan exchanged glances. "He doesn't want us going." I said and it wasn't a question.

"No," Elrohir was quick to say, "He just doesn't understand. He needs time to see how good you are on the trail and how you handle different situations."

"Well," Nathan said looking at me, "Looks like we have some expectations to meet."

"Well lets meet them and do our best to raise them."
