Salem, after realizing that she could have an easier time gathering the relics if her subordinates were competent, decided to open up her own academy. She put her old subordinates to work at teaching what it meant to be evil, and she gathered students all over Remnant. From an edgy terrorist to a common thief, she welcomed all evil.

As Volume 8 ended and Jaune fell into the void, he woke up to the sight of a younger version of himself. But thanks to something called a 'Gacha' things had diverged heavily from what should have been. Can he guide his younger self to a world of less bloody evolution?

After the death of Summer Rose, Salem finds her daughters, and takes them under her wing. As they grow up, they learn about their enemy, and what his intentions are: fame. He was the one who sent Summer to her grave. So, with their new mother, Ruby and Yang work together, and promise, to bring the world into a better light.

Ozpin is a planner. Going into this year, that is no different. Ruby Rose, a leader to be. Jaune Arc, a diamond in the rough. Together they'll make for a frightening pair of team lea- Oh. They picked matching Relics. Well... Time to toss together a back up plan.

To add to his discomfort he is made team leader as well as having to catch up on all the combat school education he has missed. The story covers Jaune's first term from his point of view.
