Natsu's POV:
The tray of drinks danced in my hands. Why was I running? This is a VIP party and I'm pretty much a waiter! Why did my familiar's leave me in Kurama's care! I mean this dude not too long ago tried to eat my heart! I suspect his motive of protection is to get on Nanami's good side… Like that will help! He's an idol for god's sake! I hurried through the crowd of celebrity bodies a little faster, eager to get this over with, not allowing the crow to savour this moment of humiliation. Kurama was sitting on a rounded, red leather couch. A dozen girls caressing and clawing at him, almost as if he were coated with diamonds and smothered in chocolate.
"Ah Natsu, what took you so long I am so parched" Kurama smiled. He was dressed in his usual goth get-up, though this time it was a little more defined. By the adding of chains and decrease of functioning buttons on his shirt the fallen angel act had then became wannabe pimp. I mean who wears sunglasses inside?
I handed him his drink. The mutliple groupie hands never leaving his close to naked torso.
"Can I leave yet?" I said, Kurama and his "cool guy" smile looked up at me as if amused.
"Well of course you can, that is if you want to be eaten" He said, the sarcasm heavy. The girl's attached to him started to break off their eyes taking glance at me then each other.
"Kurama, who is this guy?" One said.
"Is he a forigner?"
"He's kind of hot"
"Kind of? He's gorgeous look at his blonde hair!" A very pretty girl squealed.
Although I would want to say this kind of stuff is not my thing. Kurama's dumb face made it all worth. If I could see that childish expression every day I wouldn't mind being stuck at his side for a while. I could get used to this.
After a couple of hours being sat at what may be called the throne of the party, Kurama got bored and it looked like the time to leave was now.
"Very sneaky kid" He smiled painfully as we walked out of the party.
"I'm glad we left when we did, I started to run out of english" I laughed, effectively rubbing salt in the wound.
As we walked down the stairs of the penthouse back towards the real world a sudden crash burst my ear drums. Shards of glass tumbled down the stairs. The window, a floor above had been smashed. Kurama and I ran up to see the bars had been violently mangled. A bright light started to fade revealing the culprit. A small mass of white scales. It changed. Mizuki emerged wearily.
"Dude. great entrance" Kurama said standing his ground. I ran over, Mizuki grabbed my hand as I hoisted him to his feet.
"Are you okay? Where's Tomoe and Nanami?" I asked. Mizuki's traditional appearance was compromised by tears and bleeding scratches.
"Ha… They have Nanami" He breathed clearly exshausted. But my body felt crippled. Like part of my spirit was missing. Was this the fate of a god who has no familiars? At the mention of Nanami Kurama seemed to actually show interest.
"Who has her?" He asked bluntly yet concerned.
"Nami… In Neiko no tochi" He said slumping down one a step.
"Neiko no tochi? That place is just a myth!" Kurama said. But I could see a little fear in his eyes. "And Nami?"
"Nami is the evil ruler of the bakenekos… He has also captured Tomoe" Mizuki whimpered. Tomoe captured? But he's so strong!
"He caught the fox? This guy must be one strong son of a bitch!"
"A god's power may be able to break Nami's hold over Nanami…" Mizuki said as he pulled himself to he feet. His bright green eyes strong with belief.
"Yeah that could work! I mean it's a strong bond that only a god can break!" Kurama agreed.
"But I'm just a human!" I shouted.
"That doesn't matter the bond is still as strong"
Kurama's wings suddenly burst from his back… "Well cats and crows never get along anyway so I want to see this Nami guy die"
"As do I… He is throwing the natural order out of balance" Mizuki cheered, he childish behaviour returning. Clicking his fingers the large snake spirit manifested ready to fly.
"I'm in too, a god has a duty to his familiars" I said hopping on the giant snakes back.
"Lucky I have one left" Mizuki muttered as we flew out of the mangled window. Kurama following behind. Mizuki held a white talisman in his hand, although I could barely see it in the night air I think it said transport. "Neiko no tochi" He shouted. A bright light blinding and divine swallowed us whole.

Tomoe's POV:
"Who is he?" She said coldly. Her eyes were so dark. Nanami!
"No one in particular my princess" Nami said overly loving as he kissed her cheek light. Nanami's face was still emotionless. Nanami's garments were ordained in jewels and fabrics that most modern royalty could only dream of. She never looked so beautiful. And she has never looked more deadly.
"Nanami!" I shouted. Only to be hit over the head by one of the soldiers holding me down. Though it didn't hurt.
"That's Princess Nanami to you fox" Nami laughed sitting back onto his throne. He clutched Nanami's hand sitting her on his lap. I'm seriously going to kill this guy!
"Release me now Nami and give me back Nanami!" I hissed. I felt the anger fuelling my fire.
"Why would I give my princess to a dangerous fox" Nami said pouting childishly. Nanami just sat there as if she were a doll. No emotion in those darkened eyes.
"Like hell I'll let you keep her!" I screeched! I shoved away the two bakeneko guards allowing the fuelled fire to dance in my hands.
Nami stepped off of his throne. Removing a few ceremonial accessories his folded into a fighting stance. What an idiot. I gathered as much fire as possible the heat overwhelming. I violently attacked. The fire-ball the size of a man hurling at Nami. His face was surprised but then he smiled. The room exploded in a vibrant blue. The bakenekos in the room fled in a screaming stampede. Black smoke-filled the room. Creeping everywhere I may have well been blind. Laughter clashed through the room as if it were thunder. What!
A powerful gust of wind cleared the smoke. Nanami hand was held up as she stood in front of Nami protectively. Her hand was glowing a dull red as if it had been burned. Did she just…?
"Nanami thank you" Nami clutched her shoulder "So powerful don't you think Tomoe?" Nami laughed. Nanami looked faded and emotionless but one emotion managed to shine through. Pain. Every cell in my existence then exploded into pure rage! I was blind with unquestionable anger. I ran as fast as I could to the spot that would soon be splattered and hosed by his blood.
"Nanami would you" He whispered surprisingly calm. My blood thirsty claws were inches from the throat of evil. A thud silenced the room. Nanami's hand dug into my wrist, her clawed fingers splintering my bones with crushing force. Her eyes though still dark looked unintentionally sad. Suddenly she whipped around releasing my broken wrist, her foot rocketed towards my face before I could even register. I was beyond words. As I flew towards one of the walls of the court all I could recollect is the sweet gentle creature that I fell in love with. And what she had become.
The wall shattered as the earth would in a powerful earthquake. I'd never experienced such pain and defeat. I felt the scorching blood filling my lungs, rising as I breathed ragged. I dropped to the floor. Gah! I cannot fight her alone! I looked at Nanami, her perfect posture had broken into a pained crouch. She gripped her head.
"What is happening?" Nami commanded at one of the few bakenekos at his side.
Nanami yelled out, as if in triumph. She looked up at me. Her eyes. Nanami.
"Tomoe!" She shouted. Her eyes were full of tears. The real Nanami. She started to run over. Her speed was blinding, She fell to her knees and suddenly her hands were cupped around my face "You idiot! Run for god sake! I don't want to hurt you!" She weeped.
"The spell was not strong enough Uizādo (wizard)" Nami said disappointed as he slumped into his throne. Suddenly the Uizādo started to chant...a hypnotic spell. Nanami. She started to tense. Her furrowed expression signifying the great battle in her mind. I will not lose her again!
"Nanami listen to me fight it! Nanami please you have to return for Natsu and the shrine!" I breathed out my lungs aching from the pain. It's now or never. "Return with me, because I love you Nanami Momozono" She eased her head up. Still shaking from the battle she was going to lose. The priest was still chanting but it looks like it was coming to an end. Her furrowed expression disappeared and was replaced with pure joy.
"I lo…" Suddenly her eyes fell back and she fell to the floor. The priest had stopped chanting.
"You bastards!" I hissed blood filling my mouth.
Nami bounded over using Nanami's blinding speed in a more regal way. He scooped her in his arms, looking at her with an affection that looked too suspicious. He walked away as did the wizard, the advisors and ladies in waiting; the servants followed picking up Nanami's robe as they went.
"Guards finish him off" Five guards in shining armour nodded. They unseathed their katanas. Shit! I tried to get up but the injuries were not healed yet. The dazzling blades stalked my body. I prepared myself to fight. Even if it kills me, I have to live to save Nanami. Suddenly a huge flash of light engulfed the throne room. It was blinding but my eyes were starting to make out the shapes behind it. A huge white snake, a crow and a god. Mizuki you idiot!
Natsu bounded off the snake, he rushed over grabbing my hand. "Tomoe you'd better not die on me" He shouted. He looked at the cats, whose sensitive eyes were making them suffer. He hoisted me on the snakes back.
"Go Mizuki!" Natsu called. Kurama then used his wind powers, blasting a hole in the ancient roof. We started to fly. Wait Nanami! But my mouth and limbs betrayed me.
