Long time no see! Sorry about that guys it's been a crazy few months. Last chapter please review!
*Annabeth's PoV*
My eyes open to see medicine bottles, an IV connected to my arm, and a very asleep, drooly Percy in the corner chair. My knight in shining armor I thought to myself.I checked the clock next to me. 2:30am and I was too far awake to go back to sleep. Slowly, I slid out of bed trying my best not to wake up Percy. The moonlight flooded through the infirmary window bathing everything it touched in a silver glow. Slipping on my shoes, I tip toed over to where Percy was sleeping and gently kissed his forehead. He murmured something before adjusting his arm and promptly going back to sleep. My muscles still felt weak and wobbly, but the nectar and ambrosia had done its job well. I was somewhat back to normal, and since I was feeling somewhat better there was no way in Hades I was staying in that infirmary one more night. Or morning. Whatever. Overcoming my initial dizziness, I walked across the lawn under a full moon to the open pavilion. For the sake of pride I am going to say that was where I wanted to go. But for the sake of being honest that short walk made me far more tired than I care to admit. I hated being weak; I hated needing other to help me. But hey, when a big, hairy, nasty, poisonous spider bites you, what can a girl do?
I don't remember how long I sat there before I fell asleep. The next thing I knew, my eyes opened to sea horses dangling from the ceiling and a salt-water fountain gurgling in the corner. The smell of the ocean filled the room, as I stretched in sheets that were most definitely not mine. In fact, they were green with tridents on the corners. It took me a while to realize I was in the top bunk of the Poseidon's Cabin. Oh I am so getting a week of dish duty for this…
"What the heck!" I shot into sitting position and proceeded to hear a large thud from below followed by a few choice words.
"Dang Wise Girl! Don't do that!" I leaned over the edge to see a very annoyed Percy with bed head.
"Well good morning to you too!" I kept brushing my hair out of my face, which seemed to get an amused expression from Percy.
"Good to know you're feeling better. I woke up at 3 this morning to find you gone. First you get yourself bitten by the spider of death then you disappear from the infirmary. You sure know how to give a guy a heart attack."
"Love yah!" I truly was feeling much better. Whether from the great night sleep or insane amounts of ambrosia, but I felt like I could take on Kronos. Again. I swung my legs over the bunk not bothering with ladder.
"Annabeth! Be careful!" Percy jumped off the floor ready to catch me in case I wasn't strong enough. He should have known. When am I not strong enough? Sure enough, I landed and my feet collapsed from under me. Oops.
"Whoa there girl," Percy's strong arms enveloped me as I almost hit the ground.
"Ok, not as recovered as I thought."
"Yah think!" Once I was steadied, Percy held me at arms length to give me a once over, "Well you look much better."
"I feel much better! Well as soon as the world stops spinning I'll feel even better."
"Alright here, sit down," Percy guided me over to the lower bunk, "Don't stress yourself it's been a hard few days."
"Yes, mother. Seriously, Perce I'm fine!" I shook his hand from my shoulder and stood up on my own. My legs still wobbled a bit, but I was able to cover it up.
"Well I've got the day off, so I'm all yours," Percy took my hand with a smile.
"Wow what am I being punished for," I answered rolling my eyes.
"Ouch. Watch out you might wound my ego."
"Psh because that's possible." Percy took a step closer to me with a gleam in his eyes.
"Watch out Wise Girl," He was so close now with that dangerous glint in his eye, I started to back up. Unfortunately, I forgot the bed I had just risen from that was still directly behind me.
"Percy, why are you looking at me like that," I tried backing up but ended up falling into sitting position on the bunk.
"Because you're beautiful and I am the luckiest guy in the world," Needless to say we kissed for a while after that. A noise not unlike a dying whale sounded from my stomach reminding me I had missed breakfast.
"Lunch time?" I asked Perce a little breathless.
"Lunch time. Definitely." He helped me to my feet and hand in hand we walked to the mess pavilion. The other campers went silent as I stepped into sight. Whispers of poison and murder floated across the tables making me very, very uncomfortable. Percy seemed to catch my shifting feet and led me to a table in the far corner. Away from everyone. I was very thankful that it wasn't dinner time so I could sit anywhere I wanted instead of having to sit with my fellow siblings. I don't think I could handle the hoard of questions they surely would have.
"What never seen a beautiful girl?" Percy piped up obviously trying to make me even more embarrassed. Ok so maybe that wasn't his initial goal, but that's what happened. My face probably lit up like a cherry. His plan worked though as everyone went back to their usual conversations and focused on their plates.
"I don't know whether to thank you or punch you for that," I said giving him my best glare that usually made every back up a few steps. Usually. Percy just laughed.
"I'm going to go with the less painful one please," I just gave him a humh in response. "Will I be forgiven if I get food?"
"Absolutely," Not to be a push over or anything but hey I was hungry! He came back with four sandwiches, a plate of fruit, and banana pudding. Man, I love him. We spent the next two hours laughing and eating and forgetting everything else. It was fabulous. I only wish it could have lasted. The rest of the day went by in a blur. We walked along the beach for a while, but when my legs started to give out, Percy carried me to our spot and we talked (and kissed of course) for a few more hours. By the time the sun was setting, we had lapsed into a comfortable silence.
"Hey Wise Girl I think it's time for sleep," Percy started to stand up and I didn't even realize I had started to nod off..
"No, we stay," I pulled him down and started to snuggle back into him.
"No sweetheart, time for sleep," He pulled me up and into him.
"Ugh but that takes walking and effort," I started to sink back down. When did I get so tired?
"Yes," he chuckled into my hair, "You're still not well enough. You need sleep." I don't even remember the walk back to my cabin, but it was all to soon, "Goodnight Wise Girl. Love you girly," He kissed the top of my head, my nose, then my lips. Looking at his eyes everything became crystal clear. The moonlight bounced off his messy, black hair, his green eyes shone with that mischievous glint they always get, and his lips held that little smirk that I had fallen in love with way back when we were twelve.
"Love you more," I said as I slipped into my cabin. I should have stayed. Maybe I could have stopped what happened next.
Percy's PoV
It was crazy hard leaving her at her cabin knowing she wasn't fully healed yet. I turned around to go back and ask if she wanted to spend another night with me. Ok not like that get your head out of the gutter. I just wanted her close. With only a few steps separating me from her cabin door when I decided I was just being stupid. She's a big girl Perce and can handle herself. That's one of the reasons why you love her. I had barely gotten through my door when I saw her. Hera, the Queen herself, standing on the far side of my cabin. She glowed, literally, in a gold and blue dress.
"To what do I owe this honor," I asked barely hiding my sarcasm. We weren't on best of terms since Olympus.
"Oh Perseus, so great to see you again! You are one of my favorite demigods," She responded with a smile, but it never reached her eyes.
"Laying it on a bit thick aren't you?" I knew I was probably being an idiot, but I was tired and wanted her gone. I walked over to my bed hoping she would take the hint. She didn't do anything though. Just glared at me. "Look I am exhausted and really want to go to bed."
"Sorry Perseus, but I need you to do something for me. You show qualities that not many other campers have," Hera stepped closer to me.
"Uh thanks, but I'm not really up for any quest right now. I just finished one and would like some time off," I was really playing with fire now. Rejecting a quest given by a Goddess was unheard of. But rejecting a quest given by the queen herself was just asking to be turned into something.
"You're acting like you have a choice. How cute. Well I was hoping you would go willingly, but Jason didn't either. You are too much alike which is why I picked you.
"Jason? Who's Jason? What are you talking about," I backed up trying to get as far away as possible from the Queen of Insanity.
"I told you, there will be much bloodshed unless the camps will cooperate! Ugh there is no time to explain to you what is going on. Don't worry you wont forget everything," Now she was really freaking me out.
"Won't forget everything! My lady what is going on!" Hera stretched out her hand, which was now glowing. She reached out for my forehead and I quickly backed up as far as I could. Forgetting, not for the first time, how small my cabin was, I backed up into my wall. No place to go.
"Until we meet again Perseus," She placed her hand on my forehead and a bright light filled the cabin. It was the last thing I remembered.
Annabeth's PoV
My alarm went off way to early for my taste. Seven o'clock is not an ok time to wake up. I followed my cabin around the usual schedule. By the time lunch rolled around, and I hadn't seen Percy yet, I was slightly surprised. He is the most popular camper, so someone is bound to know where he is.
"Hey Alec, have you seen Percy?" My sibling came running up from the basketball court.
"No, but when you see him tell him he's late! We were suppose to have a game today!"
"Ok, if you see him or anyone else does, tell him I'm looking for him!" I didn't want to be that crazy, clingy girlfriend but he was seriously worrying me. I walked along the beach, went to our secret hideout, even walked through the woods (I killed a few monsters along the way, but hey it's a risk at these camps). He was nowhere. He was just gone.
