Chapter 33
Harry's Prov
It had been hard days and harder nights, every moment was slipping through my fingers like water. My spies had revealed that Draco was to be wed at 10 in the morning, his mother had taken her own life but there was speaking of witchcraft, others said she missed her king and could not bear the grief of being without him. Whatever the reason the royal Malfoy line was being picked off.
They set up camp a short distance away from the city hidden in the fields and barns of a noble family, the Zamblini's. Father had forced me to eat and now I was being sent to bed, the battle would strike under the moonlight tonight. It would be a long battle to get into the sealed city. I only pray to reach my beloved Angel in time.
An angered voice woke me from my fits and I bolted down to the squabbling.
"Unhand me!" it was Severus, I had forgotten he escaped.
"Severus," I spoke rounding the corner "guards unhand him and his companion."
They let go of both Greg and Severus, both were wearing rags to blend into the poorer crowed, "Prince Potter we came to offer aid in the battle."
"It is well received, please come and join me, you must be hungry," I led the way to the war room where I knew father and his awake generals would be.
"Harold back to sleep," Fathers voice said upon glancing up.
"Father we have aid," I replied stepping aside to reveal Severus and Greg "they are the personal guards to Draconis."
"James," Severus nodded "we are not much but the two hundred people within the walls are loyal to myself and the true crown, fifty of which are guard I trained with myself, I have been informed that Voldemort has twenty-five magic users along with a personal garrison of over three hundred and a reserve of five hundred."
Severus and father spoke for hours, Severus was head of the kings guard and militant while they spoke I knew everything was in the best hands, pulling Greg to the side, he had eaten less then I had had ever seen him.
"Are you alright?" I asked and the man nodded sadly "I am sorry about Vince he was a great friend."
"Thank you," he replied "Draco will be alright, we will get him out."
I nodded "we must, we will."
Draco's Prov
There were guards posted upon the grounds, outside the door, and Alec inside. I sat pondering my escape route. My balcony would offer no escape I was too high up and guards littered the ground looking left, right, left… a window to another room. But how to reach it? How would Lunte escape?
"Pansy, Millicent," I called over "I need a volunteer to stay behind with Alec for a short while."
"I will," Millicent replied clever enough not to further ask about the plan.
"Thank you," I replied "Pansy you will take Lunte, tell the guards you are to clean and dress her for tomorrow's ceremony." I kneeled down to look my pup in the eyes 'you will go with Pansy, protect her but most importantly get away, run."
She whined as I began giving orders my voice soft, it sounded like I had given up that I was still trying so hard to not cry "Pansy take Lunte, clean her up or something, I need her back in the morning, I want her at… at my side."
She went to place a sympathetic hand on my shoulder but I shrugged her off "go," walking over to my bed and tugging the silk sheets around me, I waited for Alec to come over counting the seconds, at sixty-three he came to me and I punched him hard in the face, wrenching his mouth open and shoving some of the sheet inside, I then proceeded to tie him up unmercifully tight. "think you can spy on me for that thing," I growled tying the last knot before nodding at Millicent "turn around," she did and I punched him again, just like Harry taught me and he fell limp. I hurried to the balcony grabbing a fire poker on the way and shoving it into my belt.
"Good luck," Millicent whispered around for me to hear as I grabbed the ledge thankful for a single moment that the walls to my castle were ivory so I blended. I shimmied along the edge until I came to the window, bending so I could grab hold to open it a gust hit me and I stumbled, falling. My fingers grasped at anything and I grabbed a ledge a few windows down, my left finger making an awful sound. I had broken it. I pulled my dangling self up and pulled myself as close as possible before slipping into the thankfully empty room. It was dark, musky and I moved slowly so not to hit anything. My hand finally reached a wall and I used it to circle the room until I found the door. Opening it I discovered that the room I was in belonged to the second floor and housed storage thank Merlin! I now just had to make it down to the servant's quarters and switch clothing before I could escape the castle.
