Chapter 3: Battle against the Master of the Mist: Journey to the Land of the Waves
QUICK NOTICE:
I am going to be adding a few aspects of DBZ into this. Dragon's a saiyan, and Naruto needs a really good bloodline. I thought about this for a while in terms of who should get what type of power, and I feel that Naruto with a kekkei genkai (bloodline for those who don't understand romaji) would be really awesome. But Dragon will work to get all of the power that he gets. So, please leave recommendations for what kind of Kekkei Genkai you want Naruto to have! Also, just to make it even better, Naruto will have lightning nature along with wind to reflect his father.

"I'm tired of all this crap! I don't wanna do these dumb errands anymore!" Naruto groaned as he walked back from the forest with their target retrieval object, or more specifically a cat, in hand. They, as genin, only received D-rank missions.
"Well, yeah, it sucks but we are only genin though, so I guess we just have to deal with it." Dragon replied with a sigh. They were all tired of the dull work that they were handed, labeled as "missions". They slowly walked back to the hokage's office where the mission central was located to report back. They reported back to a crazy lady, who crazily hugged the living **** out of her cat that was returned to her. The team couldn't help but sympathize with the cat for running away. They all walked up to the Hokage, and asked for new missions.
"Well, you guys have cleaning gutters, taking care of pets…" Sarutobi sighed.
"HELL NO! I AM NOT ABOUT TO DO MORE GRUNT WORK ANYMORE!" Naruto screamed. "I am DONE with this! I want a real mission! I want to really be a ninja! I am beginning to believe that we are nothing more than janitors!"
"*sigh* Fine, fine. I guess I can assign you guys a C Rank Mission. But NO HIGHER." Sarutobi sighed as he looked through the request scrolls to find a suitable mission for this team. "Well, I guess I can give you guys this one. You guys have an escort mission to the Land of Waves. You need to make sure that the person you are escorting gets to their destination safely.
"Finally, a real mission! Who is it? A princess? A high-profile person? Who? Who?!" Naruto couldn't control his excitement.
-Few Minutes Later-
"Are you kidding me?" Naruto's face fell. "We're escorting HIM?" They were looking at a barely sober man, drinking a bottle of cold beer. The man looked and was dressed similar to fisherman, appropriate for a man from the Land of the Waves. Nevertheless, they were all disappointed. Dragon's face was very similar to Naruto's, resembling a face that sent out a message. What the hell is this thing?!
"Hey, the loudmouth kid in orange. Shut up." The man replied with a drunken slur in his voice.
"Ignore him, sir. What's your name?" Dragon asked, preventing Naruto from another outburst.
"My name is Tazuna. I expect VIP treatment received from you lot. I want my money's worth!" He said in an arrogant manner. Rin sighed simultaneously along with Kakashi. This was going to be a long trip, and not a particularly fun one. Oh well, Rin thought, at least Dragon'll be there; that's a plus point for me at least.
As they walked, Rin tried to calm down a sulking Naruto. He was sulking all the way as they walked to their first checkpoint, which were the docks in the large river, from where they would take a boat to the land of Waves.
"Come on Naruto, at least we aren't cleaning gutters. Think of this like an adventure! We don't get to get out of the village very often! ^_^" Rin smiled, trying to make Naruto feel a bit better.
"Well, I guess you are right. This is the first time I've been out of the village." Naruto said, trying to cheer up. "I guess I can try and enjoy." He started to smile. Dragon sighed with a smile. Leave it to Rin to be the ultimate diplomat. Kakashi was impressed as well. Wow. She can really handle these two. She could be a real benefit for our squad. She could probably be even the middle ground if things get out of hand for these two.
Dragon was feeling uncomfortable. He had a feeling on the back of his mind that something was wrong. There was something, something about this trip was wrong. Why would a man from the Land of Waves, a village without ninjas as well as a kage, need so much protection simply to return back to his land? There were definitely blurred lines behind this situation, and there were many factors being hidden. This was no ordinary C-Rank Escort mission. As they walked, they noticed something on the ground. On first sight, it was just some ordinary puddle. But Dragon and Kakashi stopped and stared. Rin, noticing what they were doing, stopped after a few steps. Naruto and Tazuna followed suit a few steps later.
"Kakashi sensei, what are you looking at?" Rin asked, curious. "Isn't that just an ordinary puddle?"
"Yeah just a puddle." Kakashi replied.
"A puddle in mid-summer, in an extremely hot day with no rain for several days," Dragon finished Kakashi's thought. "Too bad that it's a puddle going up against a lightning user." With that, he jumped and, pointing two fingers at the puddle, fired a ray of lightning at the puddle. With an explosion, two ninjas blasted outwards away from the leaf ninjas and landed on their feet. They were masked and wearing cloaks, resembling Hidden Rain Ninja.
"Who are you? What do you want with us?" Rin asked.
"We're the Demon Brothers, and all we want is that fisherman over there. We will kill ALL OF YOU if necessary. Now step away, or DIE!" They rushed Naruto, drawing a chain that connected their gauntlets that they wore as equipment.
"Naruto! Wind!" Dragon screamed. As they were rushing, a roundhouse kick sent one of the brothers flying. The other, letting go of the chain, drew a shining kunai with a green hue. With a shock Dragon realized it was poison kunai. Rin, thankfully, rushed to Naruto's aid. She threw a few senbons at a few chinks in the gauntlets, and with chakra-embedded senbons, it paralyzed his arm.
"Water Style –Water Jet!" Rin screamed. The blow sent one half of the brothers flying towards the waiting Naruto with a fist drawn back.
"Wind Style – Wind Cannon!" A strong punch blasted the ninja backwards and slammed into the nearest tree and slumped down. Meanwhile, Dragon and Kakashi dealt with the other ninja. Kakashi threw a kunai at the ninja. He dodged by jumping. Suddenly, the kunai transformed into a clone of Dragon. A strong roundhouse kick sent him flying towards the real Dragon, who was waiting with a drawn back fist. Suddenly, with a flash of lightning, a massive punch drove his fist deep in the stomach of the ninja, and he flew forward with incredible speed. He slammed against a tree, and slumped as he slid down to the ground, unconscious. Dragon released his stance and sighed.
They dragged the two ninjas and leaned them against the tree where Dragon had sent the second one flying into. They splashed water in their faces (water that Dragon made appear with ninjutsu) to wake them up. They slowly opened their eyes, and they filled with fear as they scanned the faces around them.
Kakashi asked, "Who are you?"
"We are the Demon Brothers. We come from the Land of the waves." They replied together.
"What do you want from us? Why did you attack us?" Naruto and Rin asked.
"We were hired to take out the bridge-builder Tazuna. We have nothing more to say to you." They replied, defiant.
"Well, I guess we won't get anywhere with this." Dragon sighed. After disarming them, Kakashi knocked them out with genjutsu. Suddenly, they felt a chill overwhelm them.
"Stay close to me," Kakashi commanded immediately. Suddenly, a giant blade swung past all of the ninjas. Thankfully, Kakashi's and Dragon's quick reflexes led to the two of them dragging everyone else to the ground, dodging the blade. The blade struck a tree and stuck to it. Suddenly, a masked ninja appeared on the handle of the blade.
"The bridgebuilder is mine. Step aside and this will end easy." Zabuza threatened.
"Stay behind me. It looks like I have to take care of this." Kakashi warned, lifting his headband from his left eye. Naruto was shocked to see that Kakashi's eye worked, but also about the fact that his pupil was red with three buds.
"Whoa, Kakashi sensei, what is that?" Naruto exclaimed.
"It's called the Sharingan. It has the capacity to read every technique as well as defeat it and even mimic. It is one of the most powerful ocular kekkei genkai out there." Dragon explained, his concentration on Zabuza.
"Kekkei Genkai?" Naruto asked.
"Yes. They are techniques that are passed down through clans, though Kakashi is a 'special case', to say the least," Rin explained.
"Enough talk. Let me kill the old man and my job'll be done here." Zabuza said, crouching down, still standing on the hilt of his massive blade.
"Kakashi, you're not going in alone. I'm right behind you." Dragon said, taking a battle stance next to Kakashi.
"Oh no you don't!" Kakashi threatened.
"Too late, he's already made the first move!" Dragon exclaimed, poised to defend.
