Missing a Family Member : Chapter Three : Previously
Harry lay in his room later that night staring up at the ceiling as he waited for sleep to come to him. He smiled happy that he only had to put up with his awful muggle family for just 3 more days which would probably be one of the happiest days in his life. After all he was going to meet the only other living Potter and they were taking him away from this place.
With a content smile on his face Harry James Potter drifted off to sleep happy with the knowledge of seeing his wizarding family for the first time, but while he sleep content a young girl on the opposite side of the world awoke from a nine year sleep.
"Just 3 days my little cousin and then we shall meet," with a wicked smile on a beautiful face a young woman began preparing herself to travel to England.
Missing a Family Member : Chapter Four
The next two days passed unbearably slow for Harry as he impatiently awaited for the day that Marie would come for him.
It was currently noon on the day before his seventeenth birthday and he was starting to worry that Marie had changed her mind and had decided not to come and get him.
'So little faith in me I see little one.'
'Marie?' Harry asked in hopes that he wasn't just making the voice up in his head in his desperation for his cousin.
'Yes the one and only. Well the one and only Rosaline Marie Potter I know and I think you know. I know there is no witch with that name but a muggle might possibly have it, hmm, I wonder I might just have to find out or I can't say that anymore. Sorry went off track.' She said with a soft little giggle at the end.
'It's ok but Marie I'm so glad to her your voice. I thought you were going to just leave me here and forget the idea of coming to get me.'
"BOY! Why have you stopped weeding? Don't answer me with your excuses you freak just get moving!"
'Your aunt is rather rude you know.' Marie said amusement covering her tone.
'I know,' Harry said with a sigh of exasperation, at Maries side tracking, before continuing, 'Marie why aren't you here yet? When are you coming? I want to meet you and leave this horrible place.' Harry demanded impatiently with an edge to his voice as he began to violently weed the garden as his aunt had ordered.
'You know young one patience is a virtue and anyways I was delayed trying to find us someplace to stay Harry. I am actually on my way to your location. Why don't you head inside and get cleaned up. I shall be with you very soon. I can't wait to meet the muggles.' A rather sinister chuckle followed that statement before her presence within his mind disappeared.
Harry frowned but stood as she had said. With a glance at the unfinished weeding Harry apprehensively headed toward the glass sliding door on the back of Number 4 Privet Drive.
As he walked though the door as his aunt was exiting the kitchen so she looked him head on in disbelief that he had finished the weeding just within a few minutes.
"Boy what are you doing? I know your not done with the weeding I saw you had just started you lazy ungrateful brat!" Petunia screeched at her nephew though she would never acknowledge their blood relationship for it left a rather bad taste in her mouth just thinking about it.
'Banshee,' Harry thought with a mental smirk.
"Aunt Petunia I am inside to clean up after all it wouldn't be good manners of me to greet the only other person of the Potter line dressed as I am." With a smirk at his aunts gob smacked expression he hurried pass her to get to the upstairs bathroom were he could clean up and then to his bedroom to get all of his things together.
Harry hurried from the bathroom where he had cleaned up to his bedroom and shimmied on his belly under the bed. Prying open a loose floorboard he pulled out an invisibility cloak, a photo album, and some books and parchment.
Standing with the things clutched under one arm he strode to his desk where Hedwig, his snowy owl, sat within her cage. Grabbing her cage in the arm not already occupied with books Harry rushed down the stairs though the front hall and into the kitchen were his aunt still seemed to be in a state of shock.
With a chuckle at his aunts expression Harry set the items he had retrieved from his room down onto the kitchen table.
"Wha… what… what do you think yo… your doing you ungrate… ungrateful freak?!" Harry's aunt stuttered out at him in morbid curiosity with an undertone of fear making her voice quaver even more.
Harry glanced at his aunt and said slowly as if speaking to a young child, "Why I'm packing, after all I need my things if I am going to be moving out?"
"Moving… out?" Petunia asked her nephew.
"Yes aunt Petunia, I am moving out, as in leaving this god forsaken house," Harry said, "and never coming back if I can help it," he added in a quiet whisper.
"You… you can't do this you brat. After all we have done for you! You will leave when we say you can leave!" His aunt yelled at him in her shrill irritating voice her horse like face contorted in rage.
"Now why should I listen to you? I bet you want to kick me out with your entire being but someone says you shouldn't. I also bet it's a meddling old man."
'Knock knock Harry,' a silkily voice said in Harry's head. He frowned in confusion as he turned his attention back to his aunt when she started to speak.
"How dare you spe-"
Knock Knock
"Who in the world?" His aunt asked in confusion, then a look of mortification crossed her face, "what if its one of the neighbors? Could they have heard me?" Harry's aunt now completely ignoring him rushed off to the front door to see who had knocked.
Harry smirked because he had a pretty good guess who was at the door but he merely pulled a chair out and sat down at the kitchen table and started to pet Hedwig though the bars on her cage.
"-so sorry it took me so long to answer the door. Please come into the kitchen," Harry heard his aunt say to someone who's reply was to quiet for him to hear.
Harry watched as his aunt walked into the room still apologizing about taking to long to answer the door and asking if the person needed anything at they could just ask her right away and she'd get it for them.
Then Harry noticed the person who had followed his aunt into the kitchen. Their expression was bored as if the time they were spending here could be spent better elsewhere. He frowned in confusion because this person looked as if they were a muggle which means they couldn't be his cousin especially with how nice his aunt was being to them.
That's when they turned towards him and he had a chance to really look at their features. A young woman who looked to be only a little older then himself, turned toward his direction with a curious look upon her aristocratic face. Long black hair, that looked as if would sweep her lower back, was pulled up into an elegant bun. A few strands fell around her face framing her defined features.
She was wearing a knee length dress that looked to be made of silk while a form fitting black leather jacket hugged her upper half. She wore simple black ballet flats on dainty feet. She only seemed to be five feet and a couple inches making her nearly a foot shorter then him at five feet and ten inches which was a rather average height for a guy in his opinion.
The thing about her that drew his attention the most though was her eyes. They seemed to be like sparkling jewels in their radiance. The color was astounding he couldn't decide if they were more green or blue. Most people he supposed would claim their color was a hazel at first glance but really studying them it seemed an almost impossible color.
She raised an eyebrow at him in inquiry as she caught him staring and said, "Hello I don't think we've had the pleasure of meeting."
Harry jumped startled as he realized he had been staring, "Oh, um, no I guess not. I'm Harr-"
"STOP!" His aunt shouted at him and then seemed horrified at what she had done in front of this guest. "Oh you don't need to worry about the fre… um… boy. He's just my nephew," she gave a nervous laugh before continuing, "and anyways he's never been quite right in the head so you don't want to talk to him."
The woman raised her other eyebrow in surprise at Harrys aunts' actions. "Indeed," she simply said as she gazed unblinking at Petunia Dursley.
"Yes well you were saying how your here about Vernon's work?" Petunia inquired nervously.
"Yes I did say that but I most certainly don't mean it."
"What? What do you mean?" Harry's aunt said confusion coating her voice.
With a titter she replied, "It most certainly wasn't at all nice meeting you Petunia Dursley goodbye, and goodnight, Stupefy." A jet of red light left a slim onyx wand that appeared suddenly in the strangers' hand.
Harry's aunt collapsed to the floor as the jet of red light hit her right on the chest.
"Hello Harry."
'It's nice to finally see you in person.' A sly smile crossed the strangers' face as they watched Harrys face go from shocked to confused then to ecstatic as he realized who was standing before him.
"Marie!" He yelled in excitement as he jumped at her.
She laughed as she was squeezed in a tight hug by her cousin. Since she just barely reached his chin in height she grabbed him around the waist to return the hug just as tightly if not more.
As they parted she gave him a gentle smile in response to his goofy grin. She then said, "Do you have all of your things?"
"I can't do magic until tomorrow so I haven't gotten my stuff from under the stairs because there is a lock on the door."
"Hmmm all right lets get your stuff from the cupboard. Grab that stuff off the table and follow me," with that said she turned from the room with Harry following behind her with the things from the kitchen table overflowing in his arms.
She bent down in the hallway and tapped her wand on the lock and with a soft click and a gentle thud the lock dropped off and landed on the floor of the hall. After pulling the things from the cupboard she turned back to Harry.
"Here give me Hedwig's cage and put the rest of your stuff in your trunk." Harry handed Marie Hedwig in her cage and opened his trunk to put the things from his room into the trunk. While he was doing this Marie had opened the door to Hedwig's cage and had coaxed her into sitting on her arm. She looked directly into the owl beautiful golden, amber eyes and with a couple mumbled words turned away and walked to the window to let the owl outside.
"What did you do?" Harry asked her confusion swirling in his blazing emerald eyes.
"I told her where we are going with a mental image and some directions," Marie replied as she turned to look at Harry.
With a flick and jab of her wand the cage was cleaned of bird feces and had shrunk down to where it would also be able to fit in the trunk.
Harry closed the trunk after everything had been shoved in, rather messily, and locked it before turning to face Marie once more who had tuned to look off into a world that only she could see with a thoughtful expression on her face and a rather mischievous look in her eyes.
"Back up Harry I'm going to shrink the trunk and lighten it and then I need you to stand very still, alright?" She said once more directing her penetrating gaze onto him.
"Ok," he mumbled back in response. He watched as she wordlessly shrunk and lightened his trunk before pocketing in and turning back to him. "Now stand still there are some tracking charms on you. I'm going to remove them from you and place them on the kitchen table, this might feel a bit awkward," as she said that she gave a small wave of her wand and muttered, "Abdo Designo."
He shuttered gently because whatever spell she had cast had sent a cool tingling sensation through his body that was followed immediately by a hot flash before he regained a normal temperature. Harry then noticed he had started to give off a soft white glow and he watched as it faded and a white glow had transferred to the kitchen table and that grew stronger until it was the table glowing brightly and not him.
With a soft mutter of, "Consisto Designo," the glow on the table disappeared.
With a soft hum and nod at a job well done she moved over to the unconscious Petunia Dursley.
"Now what shall we do with the muggle?" She asked Harry and of herself.
"Well are you good at mind magic? Like memory charms?" Harry asked her as he walked over to stand beside her.
"Yes I'm fairly good at them not the greatest but enough to get me by," she replied as a frown crossed her face in confusion.
"Could you twist her memories and make it seem like the Order decided to come and get me early?" Harry asked excited to see his cousin do more magic.
"Ah I knew there was a reason I liked you," she said give him a sly grin and a nudge in the ribs before she bent down to begin working on Petunia Dursleys memories of today.
He gave a soft laugh as Marie put the tip of her wand to his aunt's temple and began chanting softly so he couldn't hear what she was saying. The tip of her wand and his aunts' body began to glow a soft yellow. When she stood once more the glow faded.
"Now all we have to do is escape the without the Order members that are watching the house noticing you have left," with a soft hum a flick of her wrist a house elf popped in front of them.
"How is Mika serving Mistress?" A house elf asked them. It was small as all house elf's where and it was dressed in a simple and plane white dress. It then looked up its large eyes where an odd shade of purple that he had never seen on a house elf before but he figured it must be possible seeing as the house elf here had purple eyes. He then turned his attention back to Marie who was looking at the elf with a thoughtful expression.
"You know Harry many people underestimate a house elf's magic," she said as if it explained all. "Mika I would like for you to transport Mr. Potter and I to room number eleven at the Leaky Cauldron. Can you do that for me?"
"Oh yes mistress, Mika is happy to serve mistress. Please grab Mika's hands mistress and Mr. Potter and hold tight," as they both grabbed hold they popped silently out of Number 4 Privet Drive and into room number eleven in the Leaky Cauldron.
