Idea: Kakashi being lead to believe that Naruto, his Sensei's precious daughter, was consumed by the Kyuubi soon after being sealed into the child by the counsel; mistreats the girl that, in his mind, would have been his baby sister. So, when it is revealed that, after Naruto succeeds in getting Sasuke back, the Elders lied to him… and then goes ahead and banishes his little sister, a goddamn hero, from the village; He joins Tsunade and Naruto in exile, bringing with him the rest of Team Seven. (Tsunade and Team Seven centric might become Sasu/Naru, Iruka might end up joining the group too so maybe Kaka/Iru also)
Summary: When Kakashi finds out the Elders lied to him about Kyuubi and Naruto after Naruto is banished from the village, Tsunade isn't the only one who leaves with him. An answer to the Missing Hokage Challenge, kind of.
Title: Team Seven: Missing?
(Chapter Four: The Reaction)
Tsunade blinked. "Oh really? You think you can make me do that…?" She started laughing quietly. "I don't think so! Naruto is the one I came back for."
Danzou sighed, he hated having to do this to Tsunade, had hated doing this to Minato and his best friend Hiruzen too… "We are being entirely serious Tsunade."
Tsunade stared at him in disbelief. "… I hate you all…"
Danzou bowed his head. He knew she hated the views he represented. "I would suggest that you either give her to me or banish her. You can always call her back you know." He watched the other two elders leave. "I know you would never kill her. Naruto is too precious to the village. There are a lot of things I could teach her, one of which would be how to appear emotionless on the battlefield."
Tsunade glared at the old man in front of her. "You know that I would never give her to you, or Sasuke." She hissed. "She is the one I came back for and she is the only reason I am Hokage."
Danzou nodded, knowing that that would be her response. "Then what are you going to do about this? I am willing to offer some assistance." He gave her a solemn look. "Let me tell you something, I am not actually as extreme as I portray myself to be."
"Really?" Tsunade asked, not really believing the man. "If that is true, then why?"
"How else will you make the best decisions?" Danzou asked. "By taking the stance I have you get a better picture of any situation. You, Minato and Sarutobi are a bit soft, and that's good for Konoha. The Konoha of your teacher, Minato and now you is the Konoha that I want to protect. This is a village where the civilians are safe and happy and our ninja force, though small at the moment is superb. The teachers care about their students' wellbeing and teamwork. My job is to bring to light the darker side of this so that you can make the right choice no matter how hard."
Tsunade had never seen Danzou in this way, it truly was ingenious. "Is that why Sensei let you get away with so much?"
Danzou nodded. "I can help you with a lot of things but I don't really want to be Hokage any more. For one I'm too old, for another, I'm crippled."
"I'm still not sure I trust you." Tsunade told him. "But to keep in character I'm going to have to decline your offer for both Sasuke and Naruto, Sasuke's punishment notwithstanding."
Danzou nodded in understanding as he turned to leave. "If you need help don't hesitate to call me."
Tsunade sighed as Danzou closed the door behind him, rubbing her face with her hands. "What am I going to do?" This was so stupid, Naruto-chan was being punished, the official reason was for hurting Sasuke and the unofficial was that she used Kyuubi. "There's going to be dissention in the ranks after this… and if they are going to run out the only reason I came back…"
Tsunade got a vicious smirk on her face. "Shizune!"
Shizune poked her head in the door as Tsunade began writing on a blank sheet of paper. "Yes Tsunade-sama?"
"Get me Kakashi; once he gets here we are going to see Sasuke."
"Yes Tsunade-sama." Shizune replied, bowing.
Team Seven: Missing?
In Team Seven's literal Tree House Hideaway Kakashi was looking through his Sensei's old room, looking for more pictures to show Sasuke and Sakura. He was looking for any pictures of this 'Kybi-okaa-sama' and 'Shina-onee-sama' that Minato might have left behind. There were none on the walls or table. He leaned against the wall next to the bed to hear a soft click. Kakashi blinked as he felt the wall shift and fell sideways when the section of wall he was leaning against slid open.
With a loud CRASH he hit the floor, landing in the slightly smaller hidden room. His breath caught in his throat as Kakashi looked around. There were two single beds on either side of a small cradle. Against the wall there was a low bedside table with several framed pictures sitting there neatly. Kakashi carefully walked around the beautifully crafted stained wooden cradle to get at the pictures.
The first picture he picked up depicted a crying blonde with tear filled diamond blue eyes sitting in the lap of a beautiful redheaded, red eyed woman. Her hair was done up in an elegant French top knot, the excess hair crafted into a neat French Braid. Her bangs fell elegantly, framing her face and ruby-red eyes. Her toned arms were gently encasing the crying child in a warm comforting embrace and she wore an ebony black battle kimono.
She was sitting, watching the child in her lap with her warm though saddened red eyes. It was then that Kakashi noticed that the woman had slit pupils, clawed hands and nine long red fox tails. Could this by the one that Sensei had honored by calling her his honored mother?
The next picture he looked at was a happier scene; the woman in the first picture was joined by a second, this one obviously younger. This younger woman had warm, happy golden eyes and was holding the now older blonde child in a headlock. He noticed, under those bright blonde bangs was a Konoha Heate-ite. This child must be his Sensei; he was wearing it the same way. The younger Minato-sensei was scrambling for purchase on the younger woman's arms but seemed to be extremely happy, his mouth open in laughter; to the side the red-eyed woman was laughing, her eyes sparkling in delight. The younger woman was wearing a dusty emerald green battle kimono, her bright ebony black hair done up in a simple braid that looked like it needed to be redone. Her mouth was stretched into a wide, happy smile. The redhead's hair remained the same, but she was now wearing a simple training outfit.
A third photo depicted an even older Minato, proudly wearing a brand new Chuunin vest, the black-haired young woman was hugging him from the side and the redhead was ruffling his hair, Minato was dressed as a ninja but both women were in casual civilian garb, modest red and black skirts, though the redhead was wearing a blue top and the younger a green one. They were sitting at a table and looked to be in a restaurant. Most likely celebrating.
A fourth photo was similar to the third, however, Minato was wearing his Jounin uniform (looking rather smug Kakashi thought) and the three were sitting in a local hangout. Kakashi could see several of his sensei's friends in the background though the camera was focused on his sensei and two companions.
A fifth photo was of Minato and the older woman in a jewelry store. Kakashi figured that the younger woman might have taken this picture. Minato seemed to be looking for a ring, possibly an engagement ring. The ring on the counter looked like the one he'd seen Kushina-san wearing on occasion when she was off duty before she and his sensei had gotten married.
The next picture had Minato bent on one knee, presenting the ring to Kushina-san; he'd done it privately, so this was Kakashi's first glimpse at the event. Minato was blushing slightly, Kushina was looking thoughtful and the black haired young woman looked like she wanted to tease his sensei badly. Although, that hadn't stopped him from initiating the longest game of Play followed by Chase and Hunt ever to express his absolute delight when Kushina-san said yes… He, Obito and Rin (who he had just taken on) had been sore for days afterwards.
The last photograph must have been taken just after Minato and Kushina got married, Kakashi concluded. It looked like a family photo almost, a redheaded man with glimmering red eyes was standing behind Minato with a hand on his sensei's shoulder; next to the man was the redheaded woman in a rather elegant blood red ceremonial kimono with tiny white flowers raining down it's length. The man was wearing a matching kimono: black with tiny red flowers instead of white. And the black haired woman was standing next to Kushina-san. She wore a white kimono with tiny red flowers. Minato-sensei wore the traditional male wedding kimono, it was a deep blue that brought out his eyes, with yellow lightning flashes (most likely a tribute to his moniker) and Kushina-san was wearing the traditional female wedding kimono, it was white with large pink and red flowers splashed across the fabric (possibly also a tribute to her nickname).
Kakashi gathered the photographs, careful not to damage any of them and left the room. When he left, he noticed that the hidden door closed automatically.
Team Seven: Missing?
Sasuke and Sakura were lounging on the two couches on the bottom floor, wondering if their sensei had found anything; that crash they'd heard earlier had been a surprise but neither had gone to check. They both looked up when Kakashi came down the stairs with several pictures in his arms.
Sakura was the one to ask. "Kaka-sensei, are those the pictures?"
"Yes Sakura-chan, these are the pictures of 'Kybi-okaa-sama' and 'Shina-onee-sama'." Kakashi told her as he approached the couches and chairs. "They were in a hidden room."
"They're both so pretty…" Sakura breathed.
"Unfortunately you will likely not ever meet them…" Kakashi told them both.
"And why is that Kaka-sensei?" Sasuke asked.
"…Because the Scroll is locked, somewhere in the Namikaze Compound and no one but the Heir can get in," Kakashi fibbed slightly, he could get into the Compound, but he didn't want to have to answer the questions that would come with that particular revelation yet. He hadn't informed his students that he had been officially adopted by his Sensei yet.
"…So only Na-chan can get into the Compound?" Sasuke asked cautiously.
Kakashi nodded, "Only Naruto can get in."
"And since no one is allowed to even get near the Compound…" Sakura trailed off.
Kakashi nodded again, "No one will be able to get at the contract. Because no one wants Naruto to know who she is, nobody is even supposed to know that she is…" he trailed off. She was, for all intents and purposes, alone.
