Sorry for the late chapter! I know it's really short, but I've been so busy and my computer access was limited these past few days. Again, thanks for all the favorites and reviews, and since I couldn't PM you, thanks to Alfader! And of course, thanks to Eulphy-Whitlock Lupin and FallenxLinkin yet again for being such awesome people! Now, on to the story!

Asari sighed in his seat, looking out his window anxiously and fidgeting the slightest bit. Thanks to Giotto, they'd managed to make it to the Vongola private airport in half the time it normally took; however, the flight was being held off for a while because of an apparent malfunction with one of the controls. He felt something rise in him and he twitched, unable to hold back from showing his tense emotions. He thought of his father's laugh and little Takeshi's pudgy hands and smile, the coil in his stomach tightening as he wired his eyes shut and his fists clenched involuntarily. Alaude, who had been calmly reading another one of his psychological serial killer books, snapped his book shut and glared at Asari.

As if he had sensed his tumultuous thoughts-although they were very obvious from Asari's gestures- Alaude's glare softened, if only by a fraction. "Stop moving around. It annoys me, and if you continue to think so foolishly, I will handcuff you to death. Ridiculous thoughts like those will get you killed."

Asari started in surprise, eyes widening as they flickered over to Alaude before he closed them, laughing as the tense coil in his stomach dissipated.

"Aww, you do care about me! I always knew you were just lying," he teased cheerfully, gratefulness towards the Cloud Guardian spreading through his chest.

The Frenchman's eyes twitched before an ice cold glare met his happy smile.

"What stupid idiocy is this? And I thought only the pathetic omnivore could be so mushy. I do not care for any of you and if you continue to carry on thinking otherwise, I will handcuff you to death," Alaude growled before turning away resolutely and continuing his book.

Asari only chuckled, smile widening when he heard the pilot over the intercom announcing that they'd fixed the problem and were taking off in a minute. He hummed and held his head with his palm, staring out of the window once more. The coil had disappeared completely.

"I'm coming," he whispered, eyes unfocused as the sky moved around them. "I'm coming."

"Tsuyoshi, reinforcements are arriving soon!"

"Wha-who's coming? When? We never sent anything!"

"It's your son and the Hibari heir! They heard about the attack and word has been sent from their headquarters-they're coming to help us!"

Amber eyes lit up in relief as tan arms lifted a small baby to eye level, cooing to him softly.

"You hear that, Takeshi? Your onii-chan's coming home!"

"Mistress! Mistress! Word has come from the Rain! Your husband is coming! And he brings the other Rain with him! They are arriving soon," a servant gasped as she ran towards her master, leaning forward to catch her breath before beaming.

Silver eyes widened as the young woman's hands flew to her mouth.

"Is it true?" she asked, holding her breath and hoping. The servant girl nodded, regaining her cool and standing up straight and her mistress turned towards the young master with a breathtaking smile.

"Guess what, Hi-kun?" she asked in breathless happiness, lifting her son up and spinning him around with a bright smile. "Papa's coming! Papa's finally coming back, and now you can meet him! He's coming to save us, and we'll be together again as a family once this is over. Oh, Hi-kun!"

Her own eyes stared back up at her before the words seemed to register in his head. His eyes widened and he trembled for a moment before a smile-so rare and beautiful it made the woman's breath catch once more-spread across his cherubic face in his excitement. His tiny little hands grasped at the fabric of her clothes and she nodded, her smile becoming something softer.

"Papa?" he whispered, a gleam in his eyes as his hands trembled.

"That's right, Hi-kun," she whispered softly, leaning her head onto his. "Papa's coming."

Giotto froze in the middle of looping his signature on the paper, looking up sharply. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, his body tense as he lowered his pen and scanned the room. He had one of those bad feelings again, the ones that sent heat running through his body. These feelings were never good-something always went wrong whenever the heat came. He just hoped that whatever it was wasn't too bad because this time, he wasn't sure what it could be. This wasn't the middle of a battle or a war between famiglias. This time, things were relatively calm. Suddenly, the image of a somber Asari and Alaude flashed in his mind's eye and he shook his head determinedly. His eyes glowed amber and a flame lit inside his chest.

He was not going to let anything happen to his famiglia.

Nothing.

Okay, I hope that was enough to make up for the late update. But I need to know if you guys would rather have another short chapter soon, or a really long one later. Like, a lot later. So please leave a review with your thoughts and questions, and I'll answer them. As for one of them that's already been asked, I might or might not include the Millefiore in this fic. If I am, which is very probable, because I absolutely LOVE them, it'll probably be after around 5-6 chapters later. But Dino and the Arcobaleno will definitely show up in the next few chapters. Please review or PM me if you have any questions. Remember, I won't update until I receive an answer to my question. Peace out,

FINALLY EDITED: 10/1/2014

A/N: Again, no major plot changes or plot changes of any kind tbh, and just for clarification, the heat that Giotto feels is his Vongola Intuition.
