"IT'S A BOY," boomed the loud voice of Giotto Vongola, proud soon-to-be father excitedly as he burst into the dining hall where G was standing with a freshly made espresso.

"It's a boy," he said again, eyes practically sparkling as he grabbed G by the shoulders and shook him rapidly. He spun them around, laughing happily as the coffee spilled all over the floor and out of the redhead's hands.

"Giotto," G said, worried for his best friend's sanity. He was ignored in favor or more twirling and laughter, irking the redhead as he tried to wrangle an answer from the ecstatic blonde.

"Giotto!"

He grabbed Giotto'sshoulders this time, eyes blazing as his brand new pants were stained with the now spilled espresso because his best friend's stupidity.

"I will ask again," he said slowly as he stared his best friend in the eye, "what the fuck are you talking about?"

"The baby," a soft voice from behind him said, the sheer happiness in the person's words palpable. He turned around to see Nana, one hand on her stomach as she giggled, her own eyes as bright as Giotto's azure ones. "It's a boy, G."

"What?!"

He looked to Giotto for confirmation, the blond's head bobbing furiously as the grin there threatened to split his face.

"Dio mio," he said, pale hands running through maroon hair as he laughed. Giotto nodded excitedly as if he was glad G could see the wonderfulness and importance of this revelation.

"It's a boy," he breathed, an equally wide grin spreading across his tattooed face.

Giotto grabbed his hand, dragging him around the house as he babbled excitedly with his hands gesturing wildly.

"We have to prepare his room! And we need to buy a wallpaper! Or maybe we should paint it. What color do you think his room should be? I personally think it should be orange, but I don't know. What about blue or yellow? And we have to get a crib! Oh my god, G, we have so much work to do! I don't even know what I'm supposed to do first! G?"

G shook his head, smiling at his best friend's antics before stopping him in his tracks. "We should probably tell the rest of your rest of our family first."

Blue eyes went hysterically large as he gasped, hands flying to his mouth. With more energy in his steps, he continued to drag his best friend around the mansion and continued to babble endlessly.

"OH MY GOD! You're right! I almost forgot about that! See, G, this is why you're my best friend. What would I do without you?"

"Perish and die of boredom and the stupidity, recklessness, and of course your natural Giotto-ness," he bantered, his voice teasing.

Giotto pouted but didn't stop walking as he stuck his tongue out and replied cheekily, "Says the man who walked into the middle of a gunfight just because his cigarette fell out if his hands and rolled down the street."

"Hey," he argued, "it was my last smoke for a month. I was holding back because of your stupid nagging, remember? 'Smoking is bad for you' and 'You're practically doing the enemy's job for them' and blah blah. I can't believe I listened to you anyways."

And so they carried on as they bantered and teased, their voices happy and their shoulders lighter because for just this once, all was right in the world.

Nana crept up behind them quietly as she listened to them, smiling as she rubbed circles on her belly and giggling quietly when one of them said something funny. It felt...refreshing, watching them as she felt movement in her stomach, her unborn son proving he was alive. She practically skipped at the thought. Her son.

She could feel the excitement bubbling as she thought of him, what he would look like, who he would resemble. To be honest, she hadn't really thought about all this too much and it just finally seemed to kick in that yes, she was having a baby, and he was a boy. She was having a baby boy. Goddamnit, she was having a baby boy.

The pure happiness on her face had her glowing as she walked, her eyes bright and steps light. She felt a grin on her face, something that felt almost strange after being gone for such a long while. She smiled, she laughed, but she hadn't grinned childishly, free of worries-not in a long time. 'I'm becoming like the child in my stomach.'

For some reason, the thought hit her as hilarious and she burst out laughing.

It was probably the hormones, but for some reason she couldn't stop. She felt tears coming out of her eyes as she held her stomach, laughter bubbling out of her lips as she tried not to shake too hard and consequently stopping Giotto and G in their tracks. They stared at her in shock before they too started laughing for some unknown reason, G putting a hand on Giotto's shoulder to keep himself up as the blond gasped for air, laughter still pouring from their mouths as they got drunk on happiness.

After what seemed like forever the three of them stood straight and grinned with abandon, acting like they were normal people having fun instead men and women related to the strongest mafia family in the world. They all looked at each other, their faces saying the same thing.

We're going to be just fine.

The two parents watched as an interested Kyouya fed little Takeshi, both hands grasping the blue bottle as he tried to hold still. Takeshi gurgled happily as his face came into view, excited to have a new playmate. They'd been carefully observing both of them ever since Kyouya's earlier statement, but they couldn't find anything unusual in his behavior. He seemed as normal as a Hibari child could be, constantly sitting next to Takeshi.

Sighing, Tsuyoshi looked over to Mikoto and he noticed the faint traces of exhaustion on her face before speaking, "Go get some rest. You look tired and I can go a few more hours so I'll take the first watch."

Not even giving her a chance to refuse, he pushed her towards the doorway, winking as he continued, "Besides, women need their beauty sleep, don't they?"

She laughed before smiling and giving in, picking Kyouya up and starting to walk towards one of the rooms. She turned halfway, a look too old and weary to be on someone so young's face, he decided, and whispered, "Thank you. For everything."

He smiled, shooing her away playfully as he teased, "You'll get wrinkles with a face like that. Now go on and get some sleep, old woman."

She shook her head and continued walking, her movement less heavy and burdened as she walked forward and remembered her husband's words.

Never stop. Always keep walking, and no matter what, I will find you.

He was growing irritated. They'd lost the target along the forest and none of them knew their way around it. It went on for miles, and not one of them could track. He could feel a migraine coming as he barked out orders, "Find them! I want anyone who's experienced with plants and navigation in front and so help me God if you don't find them before dawn!"

They saluted respectfully as he had taught them to before marching off. He growled as his chair swiveled around, hands folding together as he laid his chin on them. He could only hope they were having worse luck with the Cloud. Speaking of which…

A cold smirk formed on a thin face as black eyes flashed dangerously.

Asari halted, holding a finger in front of his lips as he signaled for Alaude to stop, pointing to the men fighting in front of the dojo. He counted them mentally as he formed a plan in his head. Two guards out front and from the sounds, three more in the dojo. Creeping up behind them quietly, he silently gestured for Alaude to follow his lead.

In one swift move he knocked the first guard out, striking the back og his neck firmly and Alaude did the same with the other. They nodded to each other, Asari leading the way as he pulled out his sword quietly. The pale silver seemed to glow in the moonlight as he maneuvered his way over dead bodies and rubble, silently grieving for the familiar faces he saw. Feeling the burn in his eyes, he shook his head and berated himself internally. His father and brother first, then he could grieve.

He walked straight past the carnage and approached the bathroom, turning on the lights. Alaude followed him, raising an eyebrow as they entered the restroom. Asari noticed the look on his face and explained, "There's an underground tunnel that my father uses in emergency escapes. He chose here because not many people would check a bathroom for such a thing."

Laughing to himself quietly, he murmured, "Turns out your paranoia paid off, huh Dad?"

Entering a stall, he moved to one of the wood boards on the wall, all of them looking the same to Alaude. Pressing on a board lightly, Asari hummed a quiet melody that startled Alaude out of his previous thoughts of his family and this mission and caused him to think perhaps something like this would be useful in CEDEF headquarters as the wooden boards broke apart to reveal a doorway.

Asari had stopped humming.

Outside, they heard one of the lookouts call for one of the two they had knocked out.

"Quickly," he said, already walking into the tunnel, "we don't have much time before one of the three lookouts inside wonders why their friend isn't answering them."

"Don't tell me what to do, herbivore," Alaude murmured as he walked past Asari after sticking something to the wall outside.

And the boards pulled themselves back together again, leaving only a quiet whirr as the house and dojo burst into flames, the explosion shaking Namimori's very foundation.
