Inside the circus tent, Dwight and Buldeo were standing beside the entrance. They watched as the circus stands filled up with people, men, women, and children alike, all eager to see a show.

"Looks like all of India came to the show," said Dwight, looking to the so-called mighty hunter.

"They must be excited to see Shere Khan."

News had spread through towns and villages that the circus had a man-eating tiger. The circus owner had issued signs saying "Come and See the Most Vicious Tiger of India, SHERE KHAN".

"These people must be mad," said Buldeo. "If they let Shere Khan perform, it won't just be the trainers to worry about."

"You need to relax Buldeo," said Dwight casually. "The trainers have handled tigers before. I'm sure Shere Khan won't be much different than the others."

"I wouldn't count on it, young one." Buldeo knew that the one in the circle with Shere Khan would be torn apart.

He was still sticking to what he thought about the tiger; he still believed Shere Khan's hate of man was still burning like the raging flames of a forest fire. Shere Khan was a savage, completely incapable of change. In a single moment he could snap and turn his anger on innocent victims. If it was that Shere Khan was to cross that line, he would become a perfect target for Buldeo's gun. Just then, Albin came along from behind the two. Dwight looked back and saw him coming up to them.

"Hey guys," Albin said, as Buldeo looked back at him.

"Hey, you alright?" Dwight asked curiously, seeing that the British man looked as if he'd seen a ghost.

"Yeah, just a little trouble in the pen," he replied.

"What happened?"

"Shere Khan just snapped at me." He weakly ran a hand through his hair, still shaken up from the encounter. "I almost got hit by his claws."

"What? Why?" Dwight exclaimed in concern.

"I'll tell you why!" Buldeo spoke up. "As I said before, that tiger's a man hater. We should have done my plan and disposed of him."

"Buldeo, would you just give it up?" said Albin, annoyance thick in his voice. "I'm sick and tired of hearing your hateful words about Shere Khan. I'm going to tell you one more time, and don't make me say it again: Shere Khan has the potential to being tamed."

Buldeo just looked at him with a look that said, are you serious? "You must be kidding, Albin. Shere Khan cannot be trained by a man. He would sooner rip you to shreds!"

"Not as long as Shatari is there. Before I left I saw the two, together, and we already know that Shatari is the only one that can make Shere Khan listen to reason."

Buldeo shook his head. He saw that they would never listen. They have a man-eating tiger in their circus and only I know anything about him, Buldeo thought.

"You just don't get it, do you?" Buldeo said, fed up with listening to the two.

"Get what?" Albin asked angrily, crossing his arms.

"That sooner or later, that tiger will claim a life and it will all be because of you two." He sighed. "You'll see, and when you do, you'll wish I had killed him that day." He turned and walked away.

Albin let out a groan. "That stupid man," he said, shaking his head.

"What now?" asked Dwight.

Albin watched Buldeo, who was walking inside the entrance. He knew that Buldeo would attempt to get Shere Khan. He couldn't let that happen.

"We need to keep an eye on him," Albin said. "If he tries to get that tiger, then we must be there to stop him."

"We should follow him," Dwight suggested.

The two then went after Buldeo, eager to see what the hunter was up to.

Meanwhile, far in the jungle, Bagheera dashed across the tree branches, heading toward the open fields where Hathi and his herd were. Soon after, the black panther came out of the jungle forest and into the plain fields. Up ahead was the elephant general and his herd.

"Hathi!" Bagheera called to him.

"Hmm? Who's calling me?" Hathi asked, looking around.

"Hathi!" Bagheera called again, coming to a stop behind the elephant.

"Bagheera! What do you want?"

"I need your help," Bagheera panted.

"Is this about Baloo, again?" Hathi sighed, knowing that Bagheera would only come to him when Baloo tried to steal Mowgli from the man village.

"Not this time, I assure you."

"Then what's the emergency?"

"It's about Shere Khan."

"The tiger?! What about him?"

"He's been taken to a circus." Bagheera waited for a reaction.

Hathi only gave a confused look. What was the big deal? "And?" he asked, wondering if there was anything else.

"And?" Bagheera questioned. "What do you mean, 'And'?" Surely you can see the danger in this."

Hathi just smirked and chuckled hoarsely. "Darn humans brought that upon themselves. If they caught Shere Khan, then he's their problem. Besides, they're doing us a favor by ridding us of that savage man-eater!"

"Hathi!" his wife said, marching into the discussion.

"What?" he asked, looking back at her.

"I can't believe you! You've heard the stories of the circus. No one deserves that."

"But this is Shere Khan!" Hathi argued.

His wife only gave him the look, the same she gave when she told him that if he didn't help find the man-cub, then she would lead the herd. Hathi tried to withstand it, but this was his leadership at stake.

"Alright fine, I'll help!" he said, giving in.

"Thank you. Now come on," said Bagheera as he turned and ran back into the jungle.

Hathi came after him, but he was thinking to himself, what have I got myself into?
