A/N: Hello and welcome back everyone! This chapter marks my fifteen chapter milestone (technically its thirteen chapters but who cares about that!?)! I can't believe I've been able to get this far in my writing and that it has gotten so many positive reviews. Thank you to everyone who has reviewed!
I did my best to try and hammer this chapter out because I head back to college on Tuesday and from what I've seen of my new schedule, I'm going to be busy. I have one class on Monday and Wednesday's but I have four classes on Tuesday's and Thursday's. Plus I have a Leadership class I'll be taking on Friday's next month…and work…so yeah; busy, busy!
But, I will not give up on this story, no matter how hectic things get. Just expect some possible, long absences every now and then (I'll give you guys fair warning when I can).
Anyway, enough of my banter, here's a shout out to you guys.
-Thinkbubbles101: Hello and welcome to the story! I appreciate your generous amount of reviews. Even though those are older chapters, it's still nice to get feedback on my previous work. I appreciate your comments, I really do. I like your Despicable Me reference by the way. And for that, I see your Minion and raise you Gru; "It does not matter the physical appearance of the please, the answer is still; no!"
-skelekc: Hello and as always, welcome back! Yeah, Wendy marked Romeo. I can understand why the whole situation can be considered good or bad. Wendy and Romeo are still so young and if something like this were to happen in real life, I can imagine it would be especially terrifying to go through the whole ordeal. But accidents happen. It will take some adjusting, but I think Wendy and Romeo will be able to work things out for the better. Besides, the two are bonded for life now. Can't get closer than that.
-Sesshomaru'sCrazygal: Welcome back you sweet, wonderful, crazy girl! I'm late again, I know. Sorry. I have only watched the first couple episodes of the anime for Fairy Tail, it's the manga I try to stay up to date with. But, both are my favorites none the less. When you say draw on your arm, do mean with Sharpies or Pen…because, I had a bunch of friends in High School who loved to do that :)! Yeah, I apologize how for long some of my updates can be. Life happens, what I can say? Regardless…thank you for your continued support none the less.
-RushiHeartfilia: Hello and welcome to the story; I'm glad you like it! You're not the first person to ask about Igneel…or comment on how cool he is. I'm glad to know you like the OC's I've created. Igneel is a man of many secrets but have no fear, some shall be hinted at…before the big reveal!
In this chapter, the new threat I mentioned back in Chapter 6 is revealed while Saito and Sam show off their powers. Get ready for some action, swearing and possible badass-ery…don't know if that is a word or not but who cares?
Now, ladies and gents…let's begin, because this one is a doozie!
XXXX
CHAPTER 13: The New Threat…The fated encounter.
XXXX
2 months after the arrival of the Kids in Crocus
XXXX
In an unknown location…
In a scarcely lit room, five individuals sat at a round table facing each other, their features no longer hidden in shadow thanks to the light that filtered in through the slit like windows of the building.
A meeting was about to be commenced.
The beams of light provided enough illumination for the small group to be able to look each other in the eyes.
Three women and two men made up the group, each sporting their own unique appearance.
The first woman, who was the leader of the group, was a stunning woman in her own right. She had long and flowing jet black hair that reached the middle of her back with an equally black head band wrapped around her forehead. A crimson red rune had been placed in the middle of the fabric. A black cape with a red interior was draped across her shoulders and over an unbuttoned, long-sleeved white button down shirt which revealed a black leather corset. In turn, she also wore skin tight black pants and knee high leather boots. Her hands, which were interlocked in front of her, had identical magical, rune filled circles imprinted on her palms. Her look was completed with black lip stick and piercing blue eyes.
Her name was Aya. Aya Higurashi.
To Aya's right sat the other two women of the group.
The second woman was slim but fit and reclined in her seat, hands behind her head and boots propped up on the table. She had sandy blonde hair which was cropped short. She had menacing, borderline eerie eyes which expressed her psychotic nature; her irises a ghostly white-silver. She wore an armored vest over a form fitting, sleeveless black muscle shirt. Her arms were protected by a pair of elbow pads, forearms guards and armored gloves. A pair of baggy cargo pants were tucked into a pair of armored boots. Next to her chair was a specially designed pack designed to hold a series of long and short spears.
She simply went by the name "Talon".
The third woman was tall with an athletic build but rested her chin against her hand, elbow bent on the table. Her dark green hair was tied into a long braid with two long bangs framing her face. She had amber colored eyes that possessed a light glow along with a series of series of intricate rune like tattoos were evenly spread out across his arms, shoulders, chest and torso. These runes however were covered by a black tank top and a black leather jacket. A pair of denim jeans, black short top boots and half finger gloves completed the look.
Like Talon she did not go by her given name, instead she had taken the name "Thorn."
To Aya's left sat the two males/final members of the group.
The first male was lean but of medium height. He had short, spiky brown hair and dark hazel brown eyes which were hidden by a pair of tinted black, wraparound sunglasses. A black bandana of a grinning skull hid his nose and the lower half of his face. His ears were covered by a large pair of stylized headphones but were not connected in any way to any form of music device. He wore a blue button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows over a red t-shirt of with a grinning skull detail on it. He wore slate gray pants and a pair of sneakers. He kept his right leg raised and resting on his left knee while silently tapping his fingers against the table.
He called himself "Shriek."
The final member of the group was a tall man of athletic build. His face was hidden by a mask that wrapped around his head. The three "V" shaped visor slits hid his face, the only noticeable feature being his short, natural grey hair. His muscular frame was hidden beneath a black padded body suit which in turn had heavy armor plating attached to it and covered the chest, back, arms, legs and boots. The armor was worn from years of use as evidenced by its dull polished sheen. It was still well maintained regardless. Leather straps held the armor in place to the limbs and body. His arms were crossed across his chest and his head was lowered in either thought or sleep. A well-crafted broadsword was sheathed and rested at its masters side; ready to brawn within a moment's notice.
His name, which mimicked his silent personality, was "Wraith".
Aya cleared her throat, drawing the attention of those gathered.
Talon removed her feet from the table, opting to sit cross legged in her chair. Wraith slowly raised his head.
"Despite the setback in Crocus on account of the Fairy Tail Guild, we have made serious progress over the last two months."
Aya smirked a dark, confident smirk.
"…The time draws near…the puzzle is coming together." Aya said, her voice clear but smooth.
"About damn time, I was getting tired of running all of those "errands." Talon said.
"I second that." Shriek said almost lazily.
Aya smirked again.
"Patience my dear friends, patience. All we need is the final piece and our plan shall finally come to fruition."
Her colleagues, sans Wraith, seemed to immediately perk up at her words.
"A piece," Aya added, "that shall soon be in our hands."
Aya unfolded her hands and raised her left palm, the magic circle on it glowing to life. A shadow shimmered into existence and soon an image formed. The image was that of a bustling, sea port town.
"The town is in Eastern Fiore, just at the mouth of the river that connects all of the river towns and villages in that part of the East. Despite it being a center of trade and commerce, this town is home to one of the largest mystical artifacts archives outside of Crocus."
The image changed to that of a large building with marble columns and an expanse of limestone steps appeared.
"In the building, in the main vault where some of the most valuable items are held, lies a simple wooden box. Despite its outward appearance, inside lays the object to our success."
Aya turned her hand, closing her fingers as she did so and the image faded.
"Talon, Thorn, when the preparations are finished, I will teleport you two a few miles outside of town. From there, you are to make your way into the building and retrieve this item…and bring it back to me."
"Nice." Talon grinned with wicked enthusiasm.
Thorn smirked with a pleasure of her own.
"I'm as excited as you are but what about security?" Thorn asked, "What we do about them?"
Aya chuckled, her amusement obvious.
"Ah yes, how could I forget?" Aya said in a sing song voice, "Some of Crocus's finest have been contracted to guard this Archive…if you encounter any of them…"
Aya looked at Thorn and Talon with an all knowing smile.
"I want you to kill them…in fact, if anyone stands in your way, do not hesitate to kill them too. Show no mercy."
"With pleasure." Thorn said.
Talon began to giggle sadistically.
"You are all dismissed. I wish you luck ladies though I doubt you shall have no need for it."
The group rose from their seats.
"Our time has come my friends," Aya said as she raised her hands, "this world shall soon be ours and chaos shall reign throughout all the lands."
The four members nodded in agreement and took their leave.
Only Wraith remained with Aya.
The leader of the small group cocked her head and walked over to her longtime companion.
"What is it?" Aya asked, generally curious as to why Wraith lingered behind.
Wraith normally preferred his solitude. He spoke when he needed to and overall kept to himself. His loyalty to Aya, however, was unquestionable. He had killed many at her bidding and would continue to do so to those who opposed her.
"If I may speak?" Wraith said, his voice a hollow ring from inside the mask.
Aya nodded and motioned for the armored warrior to follow, her cape billowing out behind her.
"What of Fairy Tail?"
The two made their way past the doors and out onto a roofed pathway supported by stone columns. The morning light provided a view of the steep chasms and valley below.
"That meddlesome guild; what about them?"
"If Thorn and Talon cause significant damage, they will undoubtedly attract the attention of that Guild. That in turn may cause them to take notice of us and that might as well bring other Guilds into the fray."
Wraith looked at his master.
"Would it not be best to avoid confrontation, lest they suspect your plans?"
Aya gave an amused chuckle.
"So what if they do encounter those mages? Talon and Thorn can easily fend off against those so called "heroes" and S-Class mages. When Talon and Thorn retrieve the item, a petty conflict will not matter in the long run."
Aya looked at the swordsman and patted his shoulder with a surprisingly gentle smile.
"You worry too much over nothing."
The two soon arrived at an overlook.
"Soon we shall unleash the power we have discovered upon the world. No one will stop us. Not even Fairy Tail."
Aya leaned on the railing, a wistful smile on her face.
"Just imagine Wraith…soon enough this world shall be ours for the taking."
Wraith stood next to his master, arms crossed behind his back.
"Ours to control."
The whites of Aya's suddenly began to turn black, her irises begging to glow.
"Ours to destroy."

Meanwhile in Magnolia Town…
Two months had passed since that fateful day in Crocus.
Two months since the lives of the mages of Fairy Tail had been changed forever.
Two months…and everything had changed.
Once viewed as strangers with weary caution by those around them, the young adults, and one small child, had now become accepted members of the Guild. No longer were they talked about in hushed tones and whispers. Now they were welcomed warmly with open arms when they walked through the doors of the Guild Hall.
They had become part of the Nakama once again.
The children of the future, the sons and daughters of some of the most gifted mages in the Guild, had forever altered the destinies of those they called their parents.
An example of this change was Gajeel Redfox and Levy McGarden.
XXXX
Gajeel slept soundly as he lay spread out on his bed, his bed sheets wildly tangled about his waist and legs. The morning light that filtered through his bedroom window did not seem to disturb him as his chest rose and fell at a steady pace.
He was not alone, however.
His bedroom door opened slowly and with the lightest of footsteps, Levy tiptoed past the piles of clothes that littered the floor and slowly crawled onto the bed with all the finesse of a cat. Crawling over to Gajeel, Levy couldn't help but smile as she watched her boyfriend sleep. He looked so calm; a far cry from his normally brash nature.
Levy's blue locks were still damp from her shower and she still wore her sleeping attire; one of Gajeel's t-shirts, the larger shirt dwarfed the smaller framed girl, and pair of her favorite cotton panties.
Gajeel in turn wore one of his old t-shirts and a pair of his boxer shorts.
Levy straddled Gajeel's hips before laying down on the Iron mage, her head resting on his chest. The gentle staccato of his heart beat echoed in Levy's ears. It was a sound that had lulled her to sleep on many a night.
Smiling again, Levy pulled her smaller frame up and placed her hands on the sides of Gajeel's head. Gently brushing away some of his stray strands, Levy placed a gentle kiss on Gajeel's forehead before tracing a series of kisses down his cheek, jaw and finally his lips. The final one earned her a smile from the sleeping Dragon.
"Wakey, wakey, Gajeel." Levy purred into Gajeel's ear.
Gajeel smirked as his eyes opened, instantly focusing on Levy.
"Morning shrimp." Gajeel said.
Levy looked back at Gajeel and gave him a gentle but full kiss on the lips. A kiss which was eagerly returned.
"Good morning Gajeel," Levy said serenely as she broke the kiss, "when did you wake up?"
"The moment I breathed in that scent of yours you little minx; cherries and lilacs from what I'm guessing?" Gajeel said indicating the smell of Levy's shampoo and body soap.
Gajeel raised his hands and pulled some of Levy's bangs behind her ears. Raising his head, Gajeels face was soon inches apart from the Script mages.
"It's a scent that really turns me on." Gajeel said with his trademark grin as Levy's cheeks flushed a vibrant red. She made no effort to protest Gajeels words though.
Instead, she placed a finger on Gajeel's lips, the latter still grinning as he wrapped his arms around the smaller girl's waist and rested his forehead against her.
"You always seem to find ways to rile me up." Gajeel said.
"You and I both know that you like it." Levy said.
"Like it?" Gajeel gave a hearty chuckle, "More like love it."
Levy trailed her hands down Gajeel's muscular chest, letting out a pleasant hum as she did so."
"I love you…you know that right?" Levy said.
"Well…seeing as how you practically spend most of your time here, I guess that means I'm doing something right." Gajeel said.
Levy had been spending more and more of her time at Gajeel's apartment, more than she did at her own place, so great was the connection that had formed between the two. If Levy's shower soaps, toothbrush, spare clothes and sizable amount of books were any indication, one could argue that they were just a couple of steps away from living together.
Not that either really minded. It would just be another reason for them to stay closer together.
Levy giggled. If there was one thing that she would never get tired of, it was Gajeels witty personality.
Gajeel gave a playful, throaty growl.
"That laugh of yours." Gajeel said.
"What about it?" Levy said as she began to lean in.
"It's just one more thing I love about you." Gajeel said as the two mages lips met.
The two had been inseparable ever since they had confessed to each other on that night over two months ago. The night the two had nervously stuttered and attempted to voice their feelings to each other. When words failed, it was Levy who had taken Gajeel by surprise. She had stood on the tips of her toes, had pulled Gajeel down by his collar and brought their lips together in an emotionally charged lip lock. It had taken Gajeel only the fraction of a second to respond. He wrapped his arms around the Solid Script mage, lifted her up so her arms fell around his neck and returned the kiss two fold. They had lost track of time after that. Before they knew it, half an hour had passed. But when the two stepped back inside the Guild, their arms and hands linked together, Levy had spotted a waiting and watching Saito from his spot at the bar. It was obvious that he had been waiting for them…that he had been hoping that they would somehow end up together.
Levy's heart had melted at the fact and all she could say, was "Thank you."
Levy let a small smile tug at her lips and not just because of Gajeel's kiss.
Saito.
Her future son, who had saved her and Gajeel's lives and who had brought her and Gajeel together. She didn't know if it had been Saito's words or his mere presence, but he had brought Gajeel together with her. And now she couldn't imagine her life without him.
Saito and Gajeel…two more people who had become important parts of her life.
Levy hummed as Gajeel deepened their kiss and slowly rolled her onto her back.
She knew where this was heading and she didn't care. She and Gajeel had already made love for the first time weeks earlier...
…And she had become positively addicted to the pleasure their two bodies created. She was finally glad those smut novels Erza had given her for her birthday had finally paid off.
The two would have gone further but…
"Ahem." A deep voice said with the clearing of a throat.
Levy and Gajeel's heads snapped to the door way.
There, leaning against the doorway, with a sly smirk and his arms crossed, was Saito.
"Am I…interrupting anything?" Saito said playfully.
Gajeel and Levy immediately sat up, their blushes heavy on their cheeks.
Saito gave a hearty chuckle.
"Relax you two. If you guys were in the middle of going further I would have left you alone."
Saito straightened up and turned around.
"Just don't let stuff like that take up all your time." Saito said as he walked down the hallway.
Gajeel pouted as he rubbed the back of his head. Levy continued to blush heavily as she twirled a strand of hair in her fingers.
Gajeel muttered something under this breathe and received a light punch on the shoulder.
"You know he means well!" Levy said as she stood up from the bed.
"I know, I know," Gajeel said, "I still wonder who he takes after; you or me?"
Levy sighed in a good natured way.
"He takes after both of us. He is unique in his own way…and I wouldn't have him change otherwise." Levy said as she picked out her clothes for the day.
Gajeel too had risen and made his way to the bathroom.
A smile quirked on his lips.
"Same here." He replied to Levy.
XXXX
Sam Fullbuster stood in his father's kitchenette as he prepared himself and his sisters egg and bacon sandwiches for breakfast.
Jenny and Chiara had spent the night at the apartment so they wouldn't interrupt the romantic evening Juvia and Gray had planned out days earlier.
When asked, Jenny had simply told Chiara that, "Mommy and Daddy needed some grown up time."
Gray smiled as he finished putting the sandwiches together as he watched his siblings at the table.
Ever since that day at the park, Sam had noticed a significant change in his father. Gone was Gray's flirtatious attitude and quick timed temper. He instead devoted his attention solely on Juvia and Juvia alone. It also seemed that the water mage somehow managed calm Gray hence the change in his temper.
Gray had also become more active when it came to Sam and his siblings. He had started to take Chiara to the park and help her with her ice magic while he would have a spar with Sam and Jenny once a week to test their magical abilities…he was fought to a standstill each time however. Gray was impressed to say the least.
That didn't stop him from fighting with Natsu however.
…Some things never seemed to change.
As he handed out the plates and sandwiches to Jenny and Chiara, cutting up Chiara's sandwich into smaller portions, Sam also thought of his mother.
Ever since her dream of being with Gray was granted, Sam and everyone else noticed that Juvia had started to smile more…laugh more…and just be in the best of moods. She just seemed so happy; so radiant.
It warmed Sam's heart to no end.
He knew he had brought his parents together. Even though it was caused by him beating the tar out of his father, he had opened Gray's eyes and his heart.
Gray had privately expressed his appreciation for what Sam had done on more than one occasion. He was truly grateful for what Sam had done for him and Juvia.
As Sam bit into his Sandwich, Sam couldn't help but continue to smile.
"You're in a good mood." Jenny said.
"Yeah, you've been smiling a lot Ani-san." Chiara added.
Sam swallowed.
"Can't a guy just smile?"
Jenny quirked an eyebrow.
"You're not one to constantly smile. You're either in a good mood or you've officially lost your mind."
Sam chuckled as he shook his head.
"No…no, I'm just glad that everything seems to be working out okay for everyone. I mean…we're getting to bond with mom and dad. Hell, we practically brought them together. And the same thing goes for the others folks."
Sam looked out the living room window.
"Everything seems just fine."
Jenny smiled softly as she took a sip of her tea.
She couldn't have agreed more with her brother.
XXXX
Later…
The Redfox clan walked through the Guild Hall doors; Gajeel and Levy were hand in hand while Saito walked with Pantherlily resting on his shoulder, the latter receiving a pleasant scratch behind the ears from the former.
They were greeted by those who noticed their arrival and returned the courtesy as they passed by.
Noticing Sam and Gray at nearby table, who were waving the three over, they soon sat down with their friends. Gajeel broke off from Levy and Saito saying he wanted to check the Mission Board first to see if any jobs were available.
"Hey guys what's going on?" Levy asked.
"Nothing much, just hanging out." Gray said as he took a sip of his drink.
Sam gave a similar answer.
"Where's Juvia and your sisters…I thought they would be with you." Levy asked noting their absence.
"Juvia said she was taking Jenny and Chiara to the springs out in the East Forest for the day. Jenny is teaching mom healing magic and mom is teaching Chiara water magic in turn."
"A little mother daughter time it would seem." Pantherlily said.
Levy looked around the Guild Hall.
"I don't see Natsu, Igneel or Lilly anywhere." Levy said as she waved to Lucy who was sitting with Cana, Erza, Meredy and Mirajane at the bar.
"They went off on a job to a neighboring town. Same with Jellal and Senna. It's just us here."
"Ah." Levy said as she thought of the Lucy and Natsu and the others.
Natsu and Lucy were in a situation to her and Gajeel.
The two were practically together all the time. They went out for dates at least once or twice a week and as far as she knew, Natsu and Lucy were talking about plans to find an apartment. Their bond was unshakable and their love for each other was genuinely pure.
Levy had, in a rare moment of perversion, asked Lucy if she and Natsu had been "Intimate" yet. Lucy had blushed heavily but stated that despite some rough kissing and touching, Natsu and Lucy had agreed that they would wait for the tight moment to consummate their relationship…they wanted it to be special.
As for Jellal, Erza and Meredy, Levy smiled at the fond memory. The day that Romeo and Wendy had announced that they had, inadvertently, become mates was also the day that Jellal and Meredy announced that they would be joining Fairy Tail. It was two announcements that had made the spirits of everyone in the Guild Soar and the following celebration went well into the early morning. Since then, Jellal was living with Erza and Senna and Meredy had actually become Levy's next door neighbor at Fairy Hills.
It seemed that everything was finally falling into place for everyone.
Levy couldn't help but beam.
"Oi!" Gajeel called out, "I think I found us a job!"
Gajeel placed the mission request form on the table as he sat down.
"What and where is it?" Saito asked.
"East Gate." Gajeel said.
"The port town just a couple hours up the river?" Levy asked.
Gajeel nodded.
"The Eastern Archive's has requested additional security. They're performing an inventory check and fear that some valuable items may be targeted by thieves. It's a simple job and the pay seems good. They're offering 200,000 Jewels each to those who aid in the security."
"Sounds look nice gig." Pantherlily said.
"It does. Any of you guys want in?" Gajeel asked.
"I'm game." Sam said.
"Same here, the girls are going to be busy most of the day and my schedule is clear. Some extra cash would be nice." Gray said.
"Yeah; if all goes well we should be back before dark."
"What about you mom; you want to tag along?" Saito asked.
Levy shook her head and offered a sympathetic smile.
"Sorry Saito. I made plans with the girls so we'll be busy all day…perhaps another time?"
Saito smiled.
"I'd like that."
"Same here." Gajeel added.
"Well," Sam said, "if we want to do this, we better get moving, the train leaves in an hour. And it's a two and a half hour ride up the river."
Nodding in agreement, the boys rose from their seats.
"Be careful." Levy said as she kissed Gajeel on the cheek before giving Saito a quick hug.
"Always." The two said in unison.
"Levy, when the girls come back later can you tell them what's going on. I don't want Juvia to worry."
Levy nodded. "You got it Gray."
Gray nodded and followed the others out the door as they went to prepare before heading to the train station.
"…Good luck." Levy whispered.
As she went over to join her friends at the bar, a strong breeze suddenly blew through one of the open windows, rustling Levy's hair.
Levy stopped in her steps, the hairs on her neck standing on end. A chill ran up her spine.
Something…something didn't feel right.
"Why...why do I get the feeling something is going to happen today?" Levy thought, clutching her hands to her chest.
XXXX
Talon and Thorn stood outside the entrance to East Gate, watching as travelers and merchants passed in and out of the gates. Having been teleported to the outskirts of town, the two had set off down the main road, thus adding the image that they were like the other travelers.
A small contingent of guards from Crocus stood watch, asking for travel papers and checking personal items.
The two dark mages walked to the entrance checkpoint where they were stopped by four guards; two to watch and two to search.
"Papers please." The first guard said.
Talon and Thorn dug into their jackets and pockets and retrieved their travel and identification papers. In actuality, they were just blank pieces of paper under the illusion of official sanctioned travel forms. Only the most skilled of mages would notice the illusion.
As the guard read over the false papers, the second pointed to Talons bag of spears.
"You have permits for those?" The guard asked, slightly unnerved by Talons eyes.
"These?" Talon asked as she reached behind her and tapped a spear, "Yep, I have 'em listed on my papers there."
"May I ask why you carry those?"
"My friend and I work private security. We heard the Archives were looking for some extra hands so we figured we'd stop by."
"Ah, yes, that. You two are the first to arrive. The Archives won't be open until noon so you can't go in there just yet."
"Is that so?" Talon asked as she leaned back and forth on her heels.
The first guard handed back their papers.
"Everything checks out, you're free to pass. Don't cause too much trouble please."
"Oh we won't." Thorn said with an amused smile.
The guards stepped out of the way and the two mages entered the town.
When they were out of earshot, Talon formed a fierce scowl and glared slightly at Thorn as they picked up a walking pace.
"What was that all about!?" Talon hissed, "We could've just killed those guys and stormed the town!?"
"And alert everyone and their grandma that we're here? Talon, get real. The longer we maintain our cover, the faster we can get this over with."
"C'mon Thorn, if anyone gets in our way we can just rip 'em apart."
"As much as share your enthusiasm, I do have a reputation to uphold." Thorn looked at Talon with dark smile.
"Once we get inside, you can have all the fun you want."
Thorn then leaned in to whisper in Talons ear.
"And if we get this done, I'll treat you to some extra fun later." Thorn whispered in a tone that promised some dark…and sensual things later on.
Talon shivered as her smile grew wicked.
Oh…today was going to be a good day.
They were soon walking up the steps to the Archives. Two armed guards stood at the front doors, two spears held in their hands.
"Hey fella's, what's up!?" Talon said cheerfully.
"Can we help you?" The first guard asked.
"We're here for the security job," Thorn said, "We were told to report here."
"…You're an hour early. Please go wait elsewhere until the designated time."
"Aw, come on now, can't we just go in and get started early?"
"No miss," The Guard said firmly, "now if there isn't anything else, I'm going to have to ask you to leave."
Thorn began to rub the back of her neck as she stepped forward.
"Yeah, about that…"
Before the guards could react, Thorns hands had turned in to razor sharp claws and had thrust them into the guard's chests, right beneath their armored breast plates. She slowly lifted them up off their feet as blood began to drip from Thorn's knuckles.
Thorn smirked darkly.
"…We're not the patient sort of people."
Thorn flicked her wrists, the guards flew off her hands and behind the pillars; their bodies hidden for the time being.
Horn raised her left claw to her hand and licked some of the blood off of it.
"Oh that is so hot…" Talon said as she removed two short spears from her pack.
"Save it for later," Thorn said as she gestured to the door, "If you'd be so kind."
Talon grinned, raised her foot and kicked the doors open, the sound echoing throughout the lobby of the Archives.
"Kn~ock, kn~ock!" Talon said in a sing song voice.
The occupants of the lobby consisted of mainly Guards and Archive Staff.
"Halt!" Said the guard's commanding officer as he drew his sword. The other guards soon followed suite as they drew their own weapons which consisted of swords and spears and surrounded Thorn and Talon.
"Drop your weapons and put your hands in the air." The Officer said in a leveled voice.
"These?" Thorn asked as she gestured to Talon's spears, "You wouldn't deprive a poor, defenseless woman of her weapons now would you?" Thorn asked mockingly.
"This is your last warning. Drop your weapons and stand down; failure to comply will result in lethal force."
Talon looked at Thorn with a, "Oh to hell with it," look.
"Lethal force it is." Thorn said.
Before any of the guards could react, Talon had tossed her one spear into a guard before leaping forward and impaling another guard with the other. Thorn returned her claws had pounced on the guard next to her, cutting him down with her hands. The guards charged in and Talon had retrieved her spears and used them as makeshift swords, cutting down any who stood in her way. Thorn broke the neck of guard she was strangling and pounced on another guard, using her enhanced strength to hurl the guard into the ceiling of the building. Talon quickly switched to a long spear and tossed it with such force that when it hit the guard's commanding officer, her was practically nailed to the wall. With only a few guards left, Thorn slammed her hands on the ground and a series of black spikes sprung forth from the floor. The remaining guards died quickly.
Standing up from her crouch, Thorn saw the Officer struggling against Talons spear which had lodged itself in his chest. Thorn nodded at the officer and Talon walked over to the guard. She gave a false smile of sincerity.
"Be thankful that you are about to die," Talon said as she gripped the spear, "you'll be spared from what is to come."
With that, Talon ripped the spear out of the Officer and he fell to the floor; dead.
The two then made their way to the Archive staff who were cowering near some desks.
"Alright who's in charge?" Thorn asked.
No one answered.
Thorn sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Really? It's a simple question…" Thorn said as she observed the group.
"Here's the thing folks, we can do this two ways. First way, you cooperate, help us and you all go home. Second way; we kill you and destroy this place."
An older gentleman slowly raised his hand.
"Please…please don't hurt us…I'll do whatever you want."
"Ah, there we go," Talon said as she clapped her hands together, "thank you for stepping up to the plate."
"You in charge?" Thorn asked.
"I-I a-am," the man stuttered out as he swallowed hard, "I am the manager and chief custodian her here at the archives."
Thorn grabbed the man roughly by the arm.
"Take me to the vault; now." Thorn said as she held up a claw to the Manager's neck.
The man nodded vigorously and motioned for Thorn to follow.
"Stay here and keep an eye on these pukes," Thorn said as she gestured to the remaining staff, "If they try anything; kill 'em."
"With pleasure." Talon said with a grin.
After a lengthy walk to the back of the building, the Manager and Thorn soon arrived at a large, thick metal door with a series of locks spread equally across its surface.
"Open it." Thorn said.
"What?" The Manager asked only to be grabbed roughly by the front of his shirt.
"Open the fucking vault." Thorn said through clenched teeth.
"I…I can't" The manager said.
"Can't or won't?" Thorn growled menacingly.
"I can't, honestly!" The Manager said as he raised his hands pleadingly.
"The vault is set on a time release lock. It was set to open when the extra security we had hoped to hire arrived. It won't open for another hour."
Thorn glared at the manager before roughly tossing the man against the nearby wall.
"I don't have time for this. I'll just open this the old fashioned way."
Talon stepped away from the door and cracked he neck just as her eyes began to glow a brilliant red and two equally glowing red lines ran from her eyes and formed to her cheek bones.
The runes across her body glowed a similar red beneath her jacket and tank top.
Her skin suddenly turned darker than black, her muscles becoming more defined while her facial features and mouth simply vanished until all that remained were her glowing red eyes. The only way one would be able to see her nose or brow would be if she turned sideways. The skin made a sound like rock's hardening.
Thorn took in a deep breath as a fiery glow began to emanate from her chest, her magic becoming so great in strength that it began to create a feeling one would experience from the crushing of water pressure.
"Dragons Fire!" Thorn yelled as she lurched forward. The glow in her chest intensified in strength and a blazing jet of searing hot fire spewed forth from Thorn's mouth.

Gajeel, Saito, Sam, Gray and a now fully sized Pantherlily walked down the street that led from the train station to the Archives building.
The train ride had passed by surprisingly fast and it had only stopped once to pick up and drop off new passengers.
Before leaving Magnolia, Sam had changed out of his clothes and had donned his mission attire; his blue sash, cargo pants, and armor covered lace less boots. The same went for Saito, who had left his jacket, sunglasses and undershirt back home.
"Well, from what the Guards at the station told us at the station the Archives should be up the street and to the left. We do have an hour to kill though so what should we do?" Pantherlily said.
"We could look around," Saito said, "this place seems lively enough so there should be something to do." Sam added.
"So long as we do something; I hate waiting…wish I brought one of mom's books with me." Saito said.
Gajeel chuckled.
"Same here, can't stand not being active for too long."
He looked at Saito and made his best psychotic grin.
"Or else no work and no play makes Gajeel a dull boy."
Saito promptly slapped his father on the back of his head.
"Ow!"
"Don't do that, you're creeping me out." Saito said while Sam, Gray and Lily snickered.
Gajeel rubbed the back of his head but smiled softly. He wouldn't openly admit it…well maybe he would admit to Levy when they had some private time, but Gajeel had grown accustomed and enjoyed the time with his future son. They had been on a few jobs together and had sparred almost every Saturday.
They had bonded, plain and simple.
"Leave it to Gajeel to freak out his own son." Gray said.
"Hey you're no saint either. I can recount many instances growing up where I saw some things that can never be unseen." Sam added.
"W-what!" Gray said, flustered.
"Let me guess, that stripping habit of his?" Lily asked with a grin.
"You're…you're better off not knowing."
That brought a series of hearty laughs from Saito and Gajeel as Gray scowled in embarrassment.
Their laughter was cut off short when the feeling of an immensely strong magical pressure engulfed the group and surrounding townsfolk.
The mages froze in their tracks.
It felt as if they were being forced to the bottom of the ocean. Breathing and standing quickly became chores and several people standing nearby collapsed to the ground. They had been overwhelmed by the magic's pressure.
But as quickly as the feeling came, it had passed.
"What…what the hell was that?" Lily gasped out as began to regain his footing.
"I…have no idea. I've never felt a magical presence of such force before; even some of the things we've fought in the past haven't compared to that." Gray said.
He then turned to Sam.
"Sam are you…alright?" Gray said, only to pause.
Sam's shoulders and hands were trembling in what appeared to be suppressed anger. His head was lowered slightly, thus making his glare even more frightening. He was breathing deep and heavy, his breathe coming out cold and appearing in the air.
Ice began to form on his knuckles.
"Sam?" Gray asked cautiously.
Saito wasn't doing any better. His lips had pulled back, revealing his clenched teeth as his face contorted into a fierce glare and snarl. His hands were clenched shut to the point where his knuckles had turned dangerously white. His Dragon Skin was starting to appear in patches and his eyes were turning into a fierce, glowing red.
Saito began to hiss in a way that reminded Gajeel, Gray and Lily of an alligator or crocodiles hiss when they became territorial…or seriously pissed off.
Gajeel felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up.
Something was wrong.
"It's them." Saito hissed.
"They're here!"
Before Gray, Gajeel or Lily knew what happened, Saito and Sam had bolted forward with blinding speed as they ran to the Archives building.
"Sam!" Gray called out as he gave chase, "Sam!"
"What the hell are they doing!?" Gajeel said.
"No idea, but whatever it is, it can't be good!" Lily added as his wings flared to life.
XXXX
The Vault door glowed white hot as Thorn stepped beneath the molten slag. Her Dragon fire had melted the door within seconds.
The vault wasn't that large so Thorn found the desired object within a matter of minutes. Picking the box up with care, Thorn examined the object.
It was of simple design but made from a beautiful, polished hardwood. A simple lock with a key hole kept the box sealed shut. Considering how old it was it was in remarkable condition.
Exiting the vault and grabbing the Manager by the back of his collar, Thorn hauled the man back to the lobby. Returning to the lobby, Thorn tossed the man back to his coworkers.
"We have what we came for, let's go." Thorn said.
"What about these guys?" Talon said.
Talon looked at the staff workers.
"Kill them." She said.
Talon grinned and raised the spear in her hand high…only for it to be ripped out of her hand by a shard of ice. Grunting in surprise, Talon spun around to where the ice had come from. Thorn did the same.
And there, standing in the main door way was Sam and Saito.
"Who the hell are you two!?" Talon called out as she massaged her wrist.
Sam and Saito did not answer, only entering the Lobby at a slow, steady pace; their glares never leaving their faces.
Thorn then noticed their guild marks.
"Fairy Tail." Thorn glowered.
Talon's eyes widened before she grinned menacingly.
"What are the odds?" Talon said as she drew a new spear, "Looks like we can settle the score for Crocus."
"Sorry Talon, but we got what we came for. It's time to-"
"You're not going anywhere!" Sam growled, cutting Thorn off.
Saito cracked his knuckles but remained silent.
"I'm sorry but who the fuck are you? I don't recognize you…nor do I care for that matter." Talon said.
"You don't know us, but we know you." Sam said.
"And we've been waiting a long time for this moment." Saito finally said.
"…Look, get out of our way before we kill you for interfering." Thorn said.
"Oh, on the contraire, you'll be the one dying here." Saito said.
Before Thorn realized it, Saito had leapt in front of her and his fist connected with her face. Thorn went flying into the wall and the box flew out of her grip and clattered to the floor.
"Ice Make: Cold Excalibur!"
Talon spun around in time to block the large ice sword with her spears as gauntlets of ice began to form around Sam's arms and hands.
Thorn pried herself from the wall and wiped the blood from her lip. She removed her jacket and tossed it away.
"Fine…you want to play rough…." Thorn said as her Dragon Skin formed on her skin.
"You'll get rough!"
Saito began to laugh a dark, humorless laugh.
"What's so funny?"
Saito let his own Dragon Skin and form and he held up his claws.
"WHAT!?" Thron shrieked.
"You're not the only one with Dragon Skin, bitch!" Saito said as she launched himself forward with surprising speed and delivered a solid gut punch to Thorn, sending her through the wall.
Saito followed her through and the sound of tile and the breaking of concrete followed.
Sam pushed Talon back and took another swing at Talon. Talon dodged, leapt back and tossed a spear at Sam. Sam held up his fist and the Spear lodged itself in the ice of his arm. Unfazed by the attack, Sam plunged his sword into the ground and a series of large ice spikes erupted from the floor. Talon leaped and dodged and continued to throw her spears, the magically infused weapons producing and unlimited number from her pack.
Sam formed two dual Ice Swords and parried each attack. However, each swing left him open to attack. Grinning when she spot and opening, Talon seized the advantage and leapt at Sam. Ducking beneath a swing from Sam, Talon plunged the spear upwards into Sam's chest.
It was around then that Gajeel, Gray and Lily arrived.
"Sam!" Gray called out in fear.
Talon spun her head at Gray and received a boot to the face from Sam. The "Sam" that Talon had stabbed suddenly burst into shards of ice.
Talon rose from off her back and wiped the blood from her nose.
"You're pretty good kid." Talon spat out as she rose to her feet.
"Let's take this outside." Talon said as she threw a spear at a nearby window, shattering it and proceeding to jump out of it.
Sam followed.
"Sam, wait!" Gray called out.
"STAY HERE; SHE'S MINE!" Sam hollered as he jumped out the same window.
"What the fuck was that about?" Gajeel asked as he went over to the still cowering staff members.
"And where's Saito?"
"The other one, the one with the black skin?" The manager asked as he stood up.
"Where'd he go?" Gajeel asked, "Better yet, what happened here?"
"We were…were getting ready to open up," The manager said, "but then these two…two mages came in and killed all the guards. They threatened to kill us if we didn't help. The other one with the black skin-"
"Other one!?" Gajeel asked.
"Yes, there were two women. One used spears and the other one had that black skin like armor. She took me to the back to the vault and demanded I open it. I couldn't so she just melted it with this fire magic. She took an item from the vault and dragged me back here. She ordered the one with the spears to kill us all when your two friends arrived."
"Was it this box?" Lily asked as he picked the box up from the floor.
"Y-yes." The manager said.
"What's so important about it?" Gray asked, "It's just a fancy box."
"It's not the box itself, it's what's inside."
Gray quirked an eyebrow and examined the box.
"Hmm, it needs a key." Gray said before smiling.
Placing his finger to the key hole, Gray filled the lock with ice, replicating the shape of the key. Turning his finger, the seal on the box hissed before if popped open.
There, resting on a red velvet pillow was an ornately designed stone key.
"They went through all of this over a key?" Gajeel asked.
"Not just any key young man," the Manager said, "this key is an extremely rare and valuable magical item; the last of its kind to be precise."
"What's so special about it?" Lily asked.
"It's a Time Key," said the Manager, "It is the last Time Manipulation Magic Key in existence."
XXXX
With a roar of fury, Saito hurled Thorn through a brick wall, sending her flipping end over end.
Their battle had taken them through the offices of the Archives and out to the city streets which in turn led to the docks.
"You…you…you son of a bitch!" Thorn said as she pushed herself off the ground.
"You don't know how long I've been waiting to do that." Saito said.
"I don't even know you!"
"Not yet." Saito said.
Saito formed an arm blade that appeared right out of his knuckles and leapt at Thorn. Before she could dodge, Saito had delivered a vicious cut across her chest, her blood spraying out and across Saito's face.
But she wasn't out of the fight.
Thorn spun into the attack and delivered a fierce kick to Saito's stomach. Taking the attack, Saito just as quickly grabbed Thorn's ankle, flipped her to the ground and stomped her into the ground. But Thorn recovered quickly.
Thorn swiped Saito's feet from under him and pounced. Her claws dug deep into Saito's shoulders and she would have done serious damage had Saito not head-butted her off of him. His wounds quickly healing, Saito stood up as a stunned thorn stumbled back. Shaking the cobwebs out of her head, Thorn glared daggers at the other Dragon Skin user.
She didn't understand. Even though she had the same power, this mage from Fairy Tail was matching her blow for blow. She was one of the strongest mages in the world at the moment. This shouldn't be happening.
This boy should have been a bloody, shredded corpse by now.
"What's the matter? Not used to a taste of your own medicine?" Saito asked mockingly.
"Fuck you!" Thorn spat.
"No thanks." Saito said as he tapped his foot…and sent a large spike out of the ground at Thorn. Due to the angle, the spike scrapped right against her skin but the force sent her flying back regardless.
Flying midair, Saito jumped after her and proceeded to deliver a swan kick that sent her flying into the ground. Landing in a small crater, Saito following close behind, the Dragon Skin user grabbed Thorn by her braid. Lifting her up, Saito reared his fist back and delivered blow after punishing blow.
Thorn knew she couldn't take much more damage. With each hit she felt her control on her armor failing. If the boy kept this up, he would kill her when her armor finally cracked.
Thinking quickly, Thorn waited until Saito pulled his fist back and fired an armored spike out of her chest. The spike went through Saito's shoulder causing him to release her as he cried out in pain. Now freed, Thorn fired a high velocity spike out of her arm which impaled itself through Saito's outstretched palm. The speed of the spike pulled Saito back…and nailed him to a large gas tank.
Thorn's eye's widened.
Now was her chance!
Quickly forming a new arm spike, Thorn used her Dragon Fire to coat the spike in flames. Aiming at the gas tank, Thron grinned beneath her armor.
"You lose boy."
The spike was fired and penetrated the tank. As soon as the fire made contact with the flammable liquid, there was sound of oxygen being sucked away before a large magnitude explosion and fireball engulfed Saito and the surrounding area.
Thron herself had been tossed back, but she soon rose to her feet; gloating in her victory.
…Or so it seemed.
As the fires raged, the sound of a high pitched whine could be heard. Thorn narrowed her eyes as she saw something form in the fire. Were those a pair of…glowing white eyes?
Before Thorn could react, a beam of concentrated energy flew forth from the flames and struck her in the chest. The beam blasted her through buildings, walls and anything that got in the way. The beam quickly dispersed. Despite its power, the beam of energy hadn't killed Thorn. It instead had destroyed most of her armor and had buried her under a pile of rubble.
From the flames emerged Saito. His skin was steaming from the heat and his pants had been severely burned to the point where they were barely hanging on by a thread. His eyes continued to glow white as cracks formed in his armor near his eyes, a white light emanating from the cracks. The light and cracks soon disappeared however and Saito's eyes returned to their glowing red hue.
Saito took in a deep breathe. That had been too close.
Saito saw a series of ice pillars soon spring out near the buildings where Thorn had landed. Sam was close.
He double timed it across the town.
It was time to end this…vengeance would be his.
XXXX
"Agh, damn it!" Talon cried out, "That's three times you've nearly killed me you asshole!"
"Tell someone who cares!" Sam shot back.
The two were jumping from roof to rooftop. Since leaving the Archives, their battle had raged from the streets, across the river and now onto the roofs of buildings.
Talon threw three spears in quick succession only to have Sam cut them down. Landing on a building, Talon was in the process of drawing a new spear when Sam landed, used his ice magic to push himself forward and Talon across the face with the flat end of the his sword. Talon went flying as a result. Landing in a small square, Talon shakily rose to her feet.
"Damn him."
Talon wiped away the blood from her lips.
"Damn him!"
Sam soon landed nearby and created two new Ice Swords.
"DAMN YOU!" Talon screeched.
Raising her arms above her head, her spears flew out into the sky.
"LET"S SEE YOU URVIVE THIS YOU LITTLE SHIT!"
A large grouping of spears had formed in the air and they all pointed themselves at Sam.
"TAKE THIS!" Talon threw her arms forward, "SPEAR ART: STEEL RAIN!"
As the name off the attack suggested, the spears rained down upon Sam. Impacting with great force, the spears soon created a large cloud of dust as stone was blasted to bits.
Talon smirked when the last spear fell.
No had ever survived that attack before. No once. Ever.
But as the haze cleared, Talon's smirk fell as a figure calmly walked out from the dust. Her eyes soon widened in shock.
"No…impossible…." She whispered.
But it was.
Walking out of the haze was Sam Fullbuster alive and well. Above him were a series of spears that were lodged, ironically, into an ice styled oil-paper umbrella.
"Drip, drip, drop." Sam said as he lowered the umbrella and broke it in his hand.
"Drip, drip…drip, drip, drop," Sam formed a single sword, "My mother used to say that all the time when it rained. I think me saying it in turn is somewhat fitting."
Talon clenched her teeth in anger.
"Why…won't…you…just…FUCKING DIE!" Talon screamed.
Sam glared at her but before he could answer, a high pitched whine echoed throughout the city. The sound of destruction soon followed and before the two mages knew it, the wall nearby exploded as Thorn was hurled through it. She landed in a pile of her own rubble.
Sam smirked.
"It looks like you're finished."
A half burned claw soon punched itself out of the rubble and Thorn dug herself out. Her skin was burned but slowly healing and her clothes were torn. Talon was instantly by her partner's side.
"It's time to end this, once and for all." Saito said as he appeared, hoping off a roof and landed next to Sam.
Thorn glared at the two mages.
"Talon…we're leaving." Thron said through pants of air.
"But what about the-"
"Forget about it; we've lost!"
Talon wanted to protest but quickly acknowledged their defeat.
With surprising speed, Talon had reached into her pants pocket and withdrew what looked like a small playing card. But upon closer inspection, the markings revealed it to be a…
"Teleportation card!" Sam cried out.
"Stop her!" Saito yelled with equal ferocity.
Before either could move, the card had been activated and Talon and Thorn began to be enveloped in a dark and winding shadow.
"This isn't over Fairy Tail!" Thorn cried out, "You hear me; not. Over!"
"When I see you again, you are so dead!" Talon yelled at Sam.
"NO!" Sam and Saito said in unison.
But it was too late. The shadow enveloped the rouge mages and then they were gone.
Silence filled the square.
Saito, his body trembling in rage, arched his neck and spine back and let out an ear splitting roar of unparalleled anger. He sounded more dragon than human.
When Saito's cry was finished, he let his armor disappear.
Sam immediately began cursing up a storm, saying every profanity laced word that he could think of.
His head lowered in defeat, Saito outstretched a hand to Sam.
"Sam…"
Sam shoved Saito away and glared at his friend, his eyes turning bloodshot and brimming with tears.
"We had them; we fucking had them!" Sam yelled.
"We were so close and then they just disappear like that; they pull a fucking trick like that and get away!?"
"Sam…" Saito said in resignation, "There's nothing more we could have done."
"Nothing more…nothing more!? Saito, we could have killed them right here, right now! And they slipped through our fingers."
Sam grabbed Saito's shoulders and began to shake his friend.
"We had them for crying out loud; we had them!"
Sam couldn't take it anymore. Tears flowed freely from his eyes and he buried his face into Saito's chest.
"They got away…" Sam croaked, "They got away."
"I know Sam…I know." Saito said as he tried to comfort his friend.
XXXX
"There you two are!" Gray said as Saito and Sam walked up the stairs to the Archives.
The two mages didn't answer.
"What the hell was that all about!? You two freak out suddenly and then tear half the town apart!?" Gajeel said.
Saito looked at his father with a depressed and defeated look.
It was also then that Gray noticed that Sam had been crying.
"Sam…what's wrong?"
Sam shook his head.
"…Who were those two?" Lily asked as he walked over to the group.
"People you don't want to meet, let's leave it at that." Saito said.
Gajeel narrowed his eyes. Saito was obviously lying through his teeth and that was cause for concern.
"Saito…" Gajeel said but was cut off when Saito gave his father an annoyed look.
"I said leave it at that." Saito said as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Regardless of who those people were, they knew what to look for when they raided the vault." Lily said as he produced the Time Key from his unfolded palm.
"They were after this."
Sam and Saito's eyes locked onto the Key, their eyes wide. Before Lily could react, Saito had snatched they key from his open hand and handed it Sam who tucked it into has pants.
"Hey!" Lily said.
"We'll handle that, it's not your area of expertise." Saito said.
"We have to get home, now." Saito said as he turned around and walked towards the door.
"Hang on a minute, just what the hell is going on here!?" Gray said as he held his arms out in exasperation.
Sam and Saito ignored him.
"I don't like this…I don't like this one bit." Gajeel muttered to himself.
XXXX
Later...
The Guild Hall was rowdy despite the rain and thunder storm that raged outside.
All of the teams that had went out on jobs earlier in the day had returned. Each team reported that their missions had been one hundred percent completed.
It had been a good day for the Guild.
Levy sat at the bar as she took a sip of her drink while listening to Natsu and Lilly retell the events of their job to the others. They were animated to say the least.
"And then Lilly just held out her foot and the idiot face planted right there. I swear he we down like a sack of bricks." Natsu said earning a series of laughs from those who were gathered around.
Levy held her fingers to her mouth as she giggled.
Natsu never ceased to entertain.
Casting her eyes back to the Guild doors, Levy let a frown form on her face. Ever since that incident with the wind, she had been worried about Gajeel and Saito for most of the day.
"I'm sure they're fine Levy-chan." Lucy said as she placed her hand on Levy's shoulder. Levy cupped her best friends hand with her own.
"Yeah…you're right…I guess I was-"
The sound of the main door being slammed open echoed throughout the Guild. All heads turned as Saito and Sam stormed through the door. The looks on their faces made anyone who was in their way clear an immediate path. Gajeel, Gray and Pantherlily were close behind.
"Saito?" Levy whispered in concern as Saito walked right up to Igneel.
"Dude, what's the matter?" Igneel asked.
Saito leaned up to Igneel and whispered something into his ear. Levy gasped slightly as she watched Igneel's eyes began to widen and all the blood seemed to drain from his face.
Igneel suddenly stood from his bar seat and made his way to the meeting room door.
Sam and Saito motioned for Jenny, Senna and Lilly to follow.
"Chiara, stay with mommy, I'll be right back." Jenny said.
Sam closed the door the moment Jenny entered.
"What…just happened?" Lucy asked as she turned to Gajeel and Gray for answers.
"I have no idea," Gajeel said as he pointed to the door, "But they're hiding something."
XXXX
"Saito are you positive it was them?" Igneel said as he paced back and forth.
"The moment we felt the pressure from her magic I knew it was her."
Lilly had her arms crossed and was tapping her foot rapidly while Sam leaned against the wall. Jenny had covered her hand over her mouth and Senna sat on the couch, her hands steeped in front of her face.
Igneel ran his hand through his hair.
"Igneel, they've revealed themselves." Sam said as he dug into his pockets.
"And they were after this." Sam said as held up the Time Key.
Everyone in the room froze.
Igneel, his skin deathly pale, slowly retrieved the key.
With a white knuckled grip, he closed his hand into a fist around the key. Turning back to the window, Igneel leaned against the glass and glared at the sky. A flash of lightning and crack of thunder reflected his mood.
"So," Igneel said, his voice dangerously low, "you've finally made your move…you bitch."
