Hi, as you may have noticed, I have been on a writing spree lately. Mostly because I feel a bit bad for that long hiatus, because I thought I was done with fanfiction. But nope, I've gotten back to it, and I'm glad to be back. I had a bunch of ideas for my stories, so I'm going to write them for you all. Enjoy this next chapter in the Promise.
It had been a few days since the auditions when Mrs. Hannigan decided to post callbacks for Cabaret outside her door, and it wasn't long before Trish's anger towards her returned. Ally, Austin and her all had first period, Algebra II when she called the announcement.
"Hello, boys and girls of Marino High. I want to thank all of the students who auditioned, though I regret hearing most of them-" -a giggle- "-but I know you all have been waiting for the announcement for callbacks. And this is it! They're gonna be outside my door, room 209, and callbacks are going to be today after school. I hope to see you there, unless you aren't on the list. Then no." Another giggle and a click as the intercom silenced.
"That bitch gave you the lead instead of me! Who the fuck does she think she is!" Trish fumed.
Ally thought it best to move back from her enraged friend and advised Austin to do the same. Trish could be terrifying when she got angry.
"When I go to her room to see if I got called back, I'm gonna kill that cuntface!"
Ally and Austin were taken aback by her harsh usage of language. But they said nothing for the rest of the period.
When the bell rang for the next period, they all decided to check out the callbacks board on their way.
The list was kind of short, but surprising.
Austin Moon
Gavin Young
Dallas Avery
Trish del a Rosa
Dane Moore
Dez Wade
And a few other names that none of them really cared about.
"Wait! What? I was called back?!" Trish squealed in excitement. "That basically means I gotta part! Yes!"
She jumped up and down and Ally had to hold her shoulders to get her to stop. Then, they saw Dane and a couple others check out the board. She ran to him and he hugged her tightly, and lifted her up off the ground.
"I got a part!" Trish screamed.
"That's awesome, babe! Did I?" Dane asked excitedly.
"Oh, well, I mean, we haven't actually gotten cast yet, but we were called back, so basically we got a part! Hurray!"
Apparently that was cause for another spin-y, huggy, lift up-y thing. Ally smiled at the scene nevertheless and kissed Austin's cheek.
"I hope you get to be Cliff," she said rather seductively into his ear.
Austin felt himself start to get hard and what followed next didn't help with the situation down there.
"You know, I heard Cliff and Sally sleep together in one of the scenes…" she spoke softly and sexily.
Austin hoped he wasn't bulging too obscenely, but just to be sure, he excused himself and ran to the bathroom. Ally turned to Trish to say something, but she was too busy with sucking Dane's face - hard! It was like she was trying to give his whole face a hickey. Yuck! So, Ally turned away, rather disgusted and found herself face-to-face with Gavin Young, who she used to help tutor in math the previous year.
"Oh! Hey, Gavin… uh… what's up?" she asked, trying to be friendly.
"I was just wondering if I got called back, and I did so hopefully I get to be Cliff. The guy who gets to play him will be pretty lucky. You know I heard him and Sally get to have sex… and lucky for everyone the beautiful lady who will be portraying beautiful, slutty Sally Bowles will be none other than you. Marino High's one and only Ally Dawson."
Ally just stared at him blankly and boredly. He smiled, trying to mask his feeling of awkwardness and walked away to talk to his jock friends.
Ally felt a hand touch her shoulder. She gasped and grabbed it, pulling the toucher forward, throwing him to the ground. Then she raised her leg up, about to stomp on his stomach when he raised his hands in surrender.
"Ally! Sorry, It's me! Dallas!" Ally's eyes widened as she noticed and noticed all of the people staring at her and him.
"Um… sorry…" she said, her face turning red.
"No, It' fine. I shouldn't have been acting like a creep." Dallas said shyly.
That was the main reason she used to find him attractive, not that she ever stopped finding him attractive, she just found Austin more attractive. She helped him up and he brushed himself off. Then he hugged her.
"No hard feelings," he stated as he pulled back.
Ally stared into his deep brown eyes that reminded her so much of a puppy dog and suddenly the bell rang. She snapped out of it, noticing they were the only two there and they were about to run when Mrs. Hannigan called them to her. They walked into her room and she pulled out a pass pad.
"Here. I'll write you both passes so you aren't counted late for class. I noticed how you love-birds were acting out there-" -a weird giggle- "-I know them looks. I might just cast you as Cliff, Dallas, you both already seem to have the chemistry. Alright, better get to class."
Ally and Dallas both blushed and took their passes quickly before heading to their next classes.
"Oh, and don't forget that callbacks are today after school!" Mrs. Hannigan called before she slammed her door shut and giggled.
They looked down at their passes which read "Girl Slut" and "Boy Slut" respectively.
Ally sighed and headed to her next class.
The callbacks weren't anything special, so they aren't worth mentioning. But, the next morning, the cast list was posted.
Ally Dawson - Sally Bowles
Austin Moon - Cliff
Dallas Avery - Bobby (one of the gay guys)
Gavin Young - Victor (the other gay guy)
Trish del a Rosa - Cabaret Girl #1
Dane Moore - Cabaret Boy (the only cabaret boy)
And then the other people who were cast.
