Percy Jackson and the Quest to Save the gods

Reality

Percy's POV

By 10:30AM, we were all in the van heading into New York City.

Cade and Audria was in the middle, and Annabeth and me in the back. Argus was driving, with his hundred eyeballs on the road.

"Well... I'm a catcher in softball. A wing and guard in basketball. And a middle fielder in soccer." Said Audria, talking to Cade.

"That's awesome! I play basketball and football. Guard in basketball, middle linebacker in football." Cade said, proud of himself.

"Wicked!" Audria exclaimed, grinning ear to ear at Cade. They seem to be becoming great friends already.

"Okay, kiddos!" Said Argus all of a sudden, "We're here! As you all know your belongings are in the back. Time to save the gods!"

Argus isn't usually like this, talking to us and whatever, but I guess there's a first time for everything.

We all got out and got our bags in silence. Well, except for Audria and Cade. They were still telling each other everything about them. Well, I thought, I predicted this correctly.

"Okay, so what now?" Asked Audria, staring off into the New York traffic, obviously not used to so many cars and people.

Annabeth had on her 'thinking' face, and so did Cade. Me? Well, I was just standing there like a seaweed brain, as always.

"Well, it's noon. So how about we get a taxi to your mom's house. We can eat lunch there. I've been dying to see your mom again." Annabeth said, looking at me for approval. It sounded like a pretty good plan, so I agreed.

"Okay then, let's find a taxi." Cade said, whistling at the taxi speeding by.

We walked down the sidewalk, yelling at taxis like idiots. Okay, okay, that was just Audria. Okay, you got me! And me too. There!

We finally got a taxi to pull over and we all climbed in. I was in the passenger's seat, while the others got in the back.

"Where to, Mr.?" The taxi driver asked in a Hispanic accent. He looked like a middle aged George Lopez.

"East 60th street. Upper east side Manhattan." I replied, smiling at myself. I hadn't seen my mom since before I started the food fight with the three furies a few days ago, so I was pretty excited to see her.

"Okay, sir." He said, putting on the Latino radio station.

Nobody said anything on the way. We just quietly listened to the radio, even though I had no idea what they were saying.

I turned my head to see what Cade and Audria were doing.

They were staring out their window at the passing sites, bewildered. They've never been to Manhattan before. It's good for them to see as much of this world as they can before the war, because the reality is, some of us aren't coming out of the war alive. Reality... Sigh. What a scary place.
