Hey, guys! Sorry it's been so long! But I have another drabble for you! Enjoy it!
Milkshake: Our characters will have to split a milkshake
"Come on, in here!"
Hikaru grinned as he followed Katie into the small cafe, looking around. The place was petite, and very cute. He liked it already.
Katie headed straight up to the counter to order their meals. It was her turn to pay for their meals, and so Hikaru wasn't even allowed to touch his wallet.
The young adult at the counter smiled at them as they approached. "Hello, there! How may we help you today?"
Katie glanced over at the cafe menu on the wall. "Hmmm..." She turned to Hikaru. "What would you like?" she asked him.
He looked through everything on the menu, his eyes wide with excitement. "Oh, uh... I want... a burger, and some fries, and a doughnut! Oh, and a milkshake too!" He grinned at her.
Katie nodded, relayed this to the cashier, adding another of everything for herself.
The cashier nodded and totalled up their meal. He told them the cost.
Katie looked through her purse for the money, and then her face dropped. "Hika, I don't have enough..." she told him.
Hikaru pouted. He'd really wanted to try everything he'd ordered... and since he'd been there once or twice before, he knew the food here was quality. "Oh..."
She thought about it, calculating the prices in her head, before sighing. "Okay, take off one of the milkshakes."
Hikaru frowned. "What? Why?"
"Because we're sharing."
"Oh."
Not long after their meals had been ordered, and Katie had paid, the two were sitting at a booth in the cafe, snacking on their lunch... along with the milkshake with two straws in it.
They both leaned forward to take a sip, blushing deeply as they realised what they were doing.
"Well... uh..." Hikaru mumbled as he pulled away from the drink.
"...This was very... romantic, I guess?" Katie asked, looking down at her meal shyly.
Hikaru smiled slightly. "Well, yeah. We're allowed to do things like this together... right? A-as boyfriend and girlfriend?"
Katie smiled up at him, her blush deepening. "Yeah... yeah, we are."
Hikaru's smile grew. "Okay... okay, good." He went back to his meal.
And thus, the two had a very cute, yet awkward, meal together.
