Chapter 13 Let Go

3rd Person POV

Erik and Evelyn circled each other cautiously, observing each others body language. Erik didn't know what to expect from Evelyn but from her take charge attitude he figured she was the kind to take the head on attack.

Just as Erik had predicted she attacked him head on, but as he shifted his weight to the side, Evelyn ducked down and swiped kicked his feet out from underneath him. "Ha, got ya." She teased Erik.

Erik growled as he fell to the ground. To say he was embarrassed would be an understatement. Erik rarely was ever bested in combat. Especially not by a woman. The very idea of it pissed him off. I see that's how it's going to be. He thought to himself even more annoyed by her jeering.

Erik got up and lunged for Evelyn who moved out of the way and dodged his attacks. They both swung punches and kicked at each other but neither of them were able to land a hit since the first round.

Evelyn giggled as the fighting got more intense. Her laughter struck something in him that brought a smile to his own face. The fact that he just couldn't seem to win and hit the girl amused Erik deeply.

Evelyn's POV

Erik began to smile at me as it was obvious that our skills were evenly matched. Although I did have a slight mutation that enhanced my natural senses. If I told him this he would surely accuse me of cheating, but really its not like I could turn off my keen eyesight, advanced hearing, sense of smell, and reflexes.

My friend James Howlett, who also goes by Logan had taught me to use these senses to my full ability when I crossed paths with him in Colorado. He had animal like senses and helped me hone my own in. He was a crude, harsh and an unbearable man, but deep down he was loyal and a sweetheart. Deep deep down that is.

Erik came at me head on again and I was able to grab his wrist and swing myself around him so that I clung to his back and put him in a headlock. My legs were also wrapped around his waist as I refused to let go. He grabbed my arm obviously frustrated. I leaned my face next to his ear and whispered. "Give up yet?"

Erik's POV

I had to stop my self from shivering as her warm breath puffed against my ear. This woman was irritating, but the way she had moved to avoid my attacks was graceful, and nearly like a dance to her.

Her legs were wrapped around my waist, and Evelyn's small arm was around my neck. This position allowed a few unsavory thoughts to drift through my mind.

All I could think about was how her small body rubbed up against mind, and her breath panted in my ear. Her sculpted legs wrapped around my waist. Though my head switched our positions around a bit.

I only hoped to whatever god there was that Charles couldn't hear my thoughts about his sister, wherever he was at right now.

"Give up yet?" She asked me.

I sure as hell didn't want to but it was getting to the point where I nearly had no other option. "You are starting to be a huge pain in the ass." I mumbled struggling to get her arm off me.

She only laughed and clung to me. Though it didn't feel like a fighters hold any more and I stopped struggling and just stood there for a moment enjoying the feel of her so close. "Fine I give."

She loosed her arm from its headlock hold then lazily wrapped both of them over my shoulders. "Oh good! I was getting tired." Evelyn giggled at me.

I turned my face to stare at her expectantly. "Will you get off now?"

"Nah, carry me back to the house. That fight was exhausting." She demanded putting her head on my shoulder.

I couldn't believe this. "You want me to carry you? Are you crazy I wont do it!"

"Well I am not letting go!" She retorted.

We argued back and forth at each other but it became evident I wasn't going to win. Every time I attempted to pry her off, Evelyn's grip strengthened. It was like battling with a clingy five-year-old, and in the end she won.

I hooked my arms under her legs for a better grip and started walking to the mansion. "You are so dead." I muttered under my breath.

She only laughed and nuzzled closer.

Charles's POV

I watched my sister and Erik spare from a distance and was very amused by the sight. It was obvious that they were evenly matched, until Evs pulled a sneaky move and got on Erik's back. I knew at that point he lost.

My sister was notorious for being able to cling to someone and not let go for hours. I should know being the usual victim.

Though what I wasn't prepared for was Erik's reaction to her. I blushed deeply as his thoughts raced through images I rather be blind to. No one should have to see their sister in such away, and to make it worse through their own friend's mind.

I wonder if I should confront him about it... No not going to happen he may start thinking about it again.
