*Hides behind Ghirahim*
Ghirahim: Get off me…
EP: No e.e
I'm sorry! But this time, it wasn't my fault! I finished this chapter two days after I uploaded the previous one; I left it there, just to add the author notes and replies to your reviews.
BUT
My internet just died, I couldn't make it work no matter what, I talked to the company but they told me that "they didn't have someone to work on that on Saturdays and Sundays" Believe me that I wanted to smash them with a broom...
It was until today (Monday) that my internet came back to life, finally they connected the wire that was loose in their station or heavens know where. Then again, sorry.
Tweekers: Please don't hit me with a broom D: And the answer to your question is: the forest is huge, and they couldn't hear him in the middle of the night and that far away.
Naruhina: Yep, Zelda is a detective or something... We'll have to wait to see what happen! Thank you ^^
Storm: Yeah, they will have to do something soon...
Drago: It's crazy and... I don't think Pit it's okay D:
Jade: Thank you my friend :D I', happy that you're liking the story,
Amphy: Thanks, poor Pit D:
Velly: Badass Zelda mode xD
Ejnoy the chapter!
"What?!" Link turned to see her "Why do you say that? What makes you think that could happen?" A terrible and strange feeling filled his chest.
"I don't know... I mean, it was pretty strange his departure, too unexpected and..." She paused for a minute "Ike was the one who told you that"
Link's breathing became erratic, his mind started to collapse, the only idea terrified him "I don't think so... He, he went to Palutena"
Zelda sighed, she could feel his desperation and she wanted to make him feel better "Maybe it's only me, maybe he'll come back tomorrow or next week" She smiled, trying to comfort him.
Link picked up the feather on his desk and looked at it, remembering the day they rode around the mansion "Do you think... Ike would be capable of doing that?"
"I don't know... Like Marth said, we don't know him anymore" She looked at Link's sad face.
"We should investigate, this damn mansion is huge and Ike could have hid him anywhere" He said, a more serious tone filled his voice.
Zelda nodded "I'll give my best" She stood up and walked to the door "Let's meet tonight" She exited his room.
"You better be okay, Pit" Link, for the first time in a long time, was scared.
[…]
Pit started to regain consciousness when a cold breeze brushed his exposed skin. He tried to move, remembering his condition, thanks to the piercing pain on his wing.
Ike wasn't in the room so he felt a little bit more secure, he felt his legs and arms numb and his mouth completely dry, he could feel the rope had dug in his skin and was bleeding now.
'How long am I going to be here? How long I'm going to wait for my death?' It was painful, thinking on his own death but the situation drained all his hope, leaving an empty angel waiting for his death or complete madness, whatever came first.
He glanced at the small window and heard a faint sound of water falling 'Maybe it's raining... I remember most of the angels in Skyworld hate the rain... I always found it relaxing, like Lady Palutena' He crawled to get near the window and hear better, ignoring the pain 'I wonder, Link... What does he think about rain?' There were so many things he wanted to ask that mysterious elf, so much time he wanted to be with him.
"Pit, can you hear me?" He looked at the room, trying to find the source of that voice.
'Lady Palutena? Where are you?!' He screamed.
"Did you forget our connection? You can talk to me anytime, dumb angel" There was that cheerful tone she always had "I think the answer is yes, you didn't talk to me since you told me about that guy... how was his name? Oh yeah, Link, remember, if you don't think about me, I can't talk or hear you"
'I'm sorry I have a problem I...' He started, but froze at the sound of steps in the distance 'I don't have enough time, please, you gotta help me!'
"Hey, hey, you know I don't like this kind of jokes. What could happen to you in there?"
'Please! Just help me! I'm not joking!' He screamed again when the door slammed open and Ike entered, with a furious glare.
Palutena started to lose the connection with Pit; it was like someone was using something to interrupt it. The last sentence of her dear angel make her feel confused, she knew Pit wasn't the kind of person who likes to play with accidents or something like that, she knew he liked to play with her but nothing serious "Pit! Can you hear me? Pit!" She didn't get an answer "I have to know what's going on..."
[…]
Zelda tiptoed over the corridors, she cursed for having her room so far away from Link's, she was afraid of finding someone wandering in the night, she knew Snake had weird traditions like hiding in boxes or things like that, Yoshi liked to look at the forest in the full moon nights. She had to make sure no one can see her.
"Link, it's me" She whispered when she finally arrived.
"Come on, don't make too much noise, Ike's room is next" Zelda entered and closed the door softly.
"Did you have any luck? I didn't" She sighed sadly, sitting next to him on the bed.
"No, I entered all the secret passages and rooms but he wasn't there... Do you think he took him out of the mansion?"
"Impossible, Master Hand have cameras on every access from the outside, wish he had inside too" She paused "Pit have to be in here, inside the mansion"
"Are you crazy?!" Suddenly they heard a voice outside "You wanted to slice my neck or what?!" It was Marth's voice.
Link approached the door and tried to listen better, Zelda approached too.
"What are you doing here?" Marth's voice sounded pretty angry "Hey, answer me!" But the only sound they heard was a door being closed.
When Zelda heard Marth walking away, she opened the door and in a swift move, pulled Marth inside, clamping her hand over his mouth "Don't worry, it's us, Link and Zelda" She said calmly to the struggling prince.
Marth relaxed at hearing her voice and nodded, Zelda took his hand away "Why did you do that? You nearly gave me a heart attack!" He looked at Link, who was the same as him, surprised by her sudden action.
"Did Ike hurt you?" Zelda ignored them and proceeded.
"No, he was about to but he didn't" Marth sighed "I don't know why he was wandering this late! I went for a glass of milk and when I came back, he almost slices my neck!"
"Don't yell! We don't want him to hear us" Link looked at him.
"Sorry, what are you both doing here anyway?" Marth looked at Zelda, suspiciously.
"Don't think in such thing Marth!" Zelda glared at him "Well, what happened to you with Ike, happened to Link yesterday, but... it was worse"
"Did he hurt you!?" Marth looked at the other, who shook his head.
"I found... blood" Link sighed again "In front of Ike's room"
"We think that, maybe, he is responsible for Pit's disappearance"
"I-I can't believe that... But you said Pit went to his goddess" Marth felt his heart skip a beat.
"That's what Ike told me, but I don't believe a single word now" Link felt his blood boil with anger.
"What do you want me to do?" He stood up, recovering from his initial shock "It's true that... Ike is not the one he used to be"
"I don't know" Link sighed again "We looked all over the mansion and there was nothing..."
"What about the forest?" Marth walked to the window "It's huge, excellent for hiding something"
"You're a genius" Zelda giggled "Let's search there, tomorrow"
The three of them met at the entrance door, it was about eight o'clock in the morning and most of the smashers were having breakfast.
"So, should we split up?" Marth looked at the other two.
"Sounds more convenient, we could cover more area if we do that" Link said, Zelda nodded.
They were about to go when they heard a faint knock, Link walked to the door, upset, and opened it.
A tall girl with long green hair and soft green eyes was standing there, looking worried "Good morning... Is this Smash Mansion?"
"Yes it is" Zelda walked to her "Are you a new one?"
"Oh, no! I'm Palutena, you see, one of my angels, the most important one, came here about a month ago...His name is Pit, do you know him?"
Three pair of eyes widened at hearing her "Y-Yes, we know him"
"I have a connection with him, we can talk whenever we want to, but, yesterday, the communication was interrupted and I can't talk to him anymore, he told me he needed help and I came here to see if everything is fine"
Link felt a sharp pain on his chest "Did he tell you where he was?!" He demanded.
"No, the connection broke before he could tell me anything else" Palutena could see the fear in his eyes "Please, tell me what happened" She felt her voice tremble.
"We don't know; we are looking for him" Marth looked at the forest.
"Only the three of you?"
"Yes, it's a problem with one of the smashers in here, we can't get more people involved" Zelda walked to her.
"I want to help..." She gave a step forward "But my kingdom...I-I don't know what to do, I can't leave anyone!"
"Leave this to us, we promise you that we will find him, no matter what" Zelda smiled, glancing at Link.
"Yeah, we'll find him" Link nodded.
"Please, help him... I feel useless" Palutena squeezed her eyes.
"You're not, you're a goddess and you need to look for your people, leave this to us, we won't fail you" Zelda had a fair experience of what being a goddess meant.
"Can I have your names? If I receive more information from him, I will give it to you"
"He's Marth, he's Link and I'm Zelda"
"So you're Link..." She smiled faintly "I trust you, thanks for everything"
Palutena flew away and Link closed the door again.
"We have to find him, now we are sure that he's not with her goddess" Zelda transformed into Sheik and walked to the forest, with Marth and Link following.
The inevitable fight is coming, the question is: Who is going to fight against Ike?
I didn't want to put Palutena in the searching and fighting stuff because there's a huge difference of power between Palutena and Ike (If we took the premise that Palutena is a goddess and Ike a mere mercenary)
Also, Marth has joined the searching team!
The chapter is longer! Yaay!
Hope you liked the chapter and leave me a lovely review if possible, I really appreciate them. Thanks again for liking this story!
Bye-bye!
