Derek cracked open his eyes and glanced sideways at the clock, it was 7:34. He turned around and reached out for Stiles but was met with cold sheets. Stretching he got out of bed, pulled on a pair of boxers and made his way out front. As soon as he entered the hallway he was greater with the sweet smell of bacon, he loved bacon. When he got to the kitchen he found Stiles standing at the stove, his sweat pants riding low on his hips. Slowly walking up behind him he wrapped his arms around his waist and rested his head on the smaller mans shoulders. "Just like old times huh."
Stiles smiled and continued scrambling his eggs. "Yeah, just like old times, can you grab the cheese."
Derek kissed Stiles on the cheek and moved over to the fridge to get the cheese. He walked back behind Stiles and sprinkled some of the shredded cheese into the pan. Setting it down on the counter he grabbed a piece of bacon and gobbled it down. "Mmmmmm, I missed this."
"What, me cooking you food?" Stiles replied.
"No, just holding you like this." Derek says. "Why don't you let me finish." He took the spoon from Stiles before turning him around. "I was always the better cook anyway."
Stiles closed the small gap between them and kissed Derek. "Whatever you say." He walked to the other side of the kitchen and sat on the counter to watch Derek work. "So what happens now."
"Well I was hoping that you would come back home." Derek says after a moment of silence. "It really doesn't feel like home without you." He picked up the pan and split the eggs between him and Stiles on two different plates, then the bacon, grits and sausages. "I still find it weird that you cook both sausages and bacon."
"I cooked the bacon for you, I'm okay with the sausages." Stiles hopped off the country and grabbed two cups along with orange juice from the fridge. He followed Derek into the living room and sat the stuff on the table. Sitting down on the couch he waited until Derek joined him. They sat in silent as they ate and watched TV.
About fifteen minutes later they were done with the food and Stiles was laying down on the couch, his head resting on Derek's lap. Even though his eyes were on the TV he could feel Derek watching him and when he looked up Derek was still watching him. "What is it?"
Derek ran his fingers through Stiles short hair and sighed. "You never answered me before, about moving back home."
Stiles looked away from Derek and was about to speak when there was a knock at the door. Sitting up Derek was still watching him. "We'll talk about later, okay," Derek nodded and Stiles got up to answer the door. As soon as he opened it Danny and Jackson walked in. "Hey?"
"Well I see you two had a fun night." Jackson says going to the kitchen and grabbing a few pieces of bacon. When he turned back around Derek was standing in front of him. "Ugh dude put on some clothes."
"Very funny." Derek says. "I'm glad that you're here I need to talk to you."
"Alright, let's go in the back." Jackson followed Derek out of the kitchen. Danny and Stiles were already in deep conversation so they headed to the bedroom. "So what's going on." The bed was a mess and he didn't want to sit there so he sat at the computer.
"I needed your advice on something." Derek says sitting on the bed. "Before I show you this I want you to know that I bought it two weeks ago. I guess to prove to myself that I can be in a committed relationship but when I was with Stiles last night all I wanted to do was ask him."
"Ask him what?" Jackson asked, mouth full of bacon.
Derek reached into his pants pockets and took out a little black box. Turning to Jackson he tossed him the box. "I was going to ask him to marry me."
Jackson swallowed a relatively huge piece of bacon and ended up choking. His eyes started to water and he started coughing. Derek was behind him I in a matter of seconds patting him on the back. He managed to get the food down without gagging and wiped his eyes. "Thanks."
Derek smiled. "Don't mention it."
Once he caught his breath he opened the box and shook his head. "So you want to marry Stiles now is that right?"
"I know it sounds crazy, especially after everything we've been through but losing him made me realize how much I wanted and needed him in my life." Derek looks down at the ground. "This feels right but I don't want to freak him out when we're just finding each other again. Now every time I see him I want to ask him and I don't know what to do." Looking back up at his friend he sighed. "What should I do?"
"I think you should give it some more time before you say anything." Jackson says. "You were right when you said that you guys are just finding each other and you just went through hell so just hold off for a while."
Derek nodded. "Okay." Jackson tossed him the little box and he put it back in his pants pocket before going back to the bed. "Come on before they think we're up to something in here." Before they left he stopped them at the door. "One more thing, keep this between you and me because if Danny finds out I know he's going to tell Stiles."
Jackson nodded. "Got it, I'll keep it to myself." When they got back to the living room Stiles and Danny paused from their conversion and looked over at them. "What, we weren't doing anything?" He quickly says before going to the kitchen.
Danny watched Jackson closely and immediately new something was up and just like in high-school he always knew how to make Jackson talk but that could wait until they got home. When Derek went into the kitchen behind Jackson he turned back to Stiles. "What do you think they were talking about?"
Stiles shrugged. "He asked me to move back in with him and I didn't answer him so maybe that was what they were talking about."
"Do you want to go back." Danny asked.
'Honestly I don't." Stiles admitted. "Every time I go there all it does is remind me of all the guys he's been with and the fights we had." After a moment of silence he smiled. "Do you think he'll consider moving in here with me?"
"Who knows but I think he will." Danny says. "You guys are starting fresh and what better way to do it then with a new apartment."
"I like that idea." Stiles says. "Alright I'll talk to him about it later, thanks."
Later that night
Derek was leaning against Stiles headboard watching him as he got dressed for bed. "You never answered me about moving back in."
Stiles went over and got into the bed. "Yeah um I've been thinking about that and I don't feel right moving back to that place, every time I'm there all it does is bring up bad memories and I don't like it."
Derek looked down. "Okay,"
"Not it's not like that Derek." Stiles says turning to him. "I still want us to live together but I was thinking that maybe you can move in here with me. Would be okay with something like that?"
Derek looked over at Stiles and smiled. "As long as were together I don't care where we are."
"You mean that?" Stiles asked.
Derek nodded. "Yeah, let's do it."
...
Danny was sitting on one side of the couch watching Jackson as he ate his food. Ever since they left Stiles apartment he's been thinking about Jackson's conversation with Derek. Finally having enough he moved closer to Jackson and tapped him on the shoulder. "Hey can I ask you a question?"
Jackson already knew what Danny was going to ask him and he shook his head. "Danny I'm not going to tell you anything so don't ask."
Danny groaned and started kissing Jackson on the neck. "Come on I promise that I won't tell anyone. I can totally keep a secret." Jackson let out a loud 'HA' and Danny hit him on the back of the head. "Shut up I can keep a secret."
"Danny you have never kept a secret a day in your life." Jackson says setting his plate on the table. "Everything I've ever told you in confidence you went and told Stiles and he can't know what I know."
Hearing that whatever this secret was concerned Stiles only sparked his interest in knowing what it was. "Awe come on now you have to tell me." He started running his fingers through the blonds short hair. "Please."
Jackson turned to Danny. "Look if I could tell you I would but I promised Derek that I wouldn't say anything. You don't have to worry though because it's not anything bad." He smiled when Danny started pouting. "Come on Danny can you just bear with me on this for a while?"
Danny groaned but sat back on the couch. "Fine I won't ask again."
Jackson looked sideways at Danny who had his arms folded over his chest. "Danny will you stop pouting."
"I'm not pouting." Danny says getting up and walking away from him. "I'm going to take a shower."
Jackson watched him go. "I love you!" He called after him.
"Yeah yeah!" Danny called back to him.
He smiled, picked up his plate of food and resumed eating. Maybe he could keep this huge news to himself after all.
A/N BE BACK SOON! (-:
