"I opened the door and there they were making out like teenagers. Then when I spoke, they continued acting like teenagers who just got caught by their parents." Prue said which got both Phoebe and Paige laughing. Piper began to blush, which made her sisters laugh more. The four were sitting at the local coffee place which was in the middle of all of their jobs. Prue was a photographer at 415 magazine, Paige was a social worker and Phoebe had recently gotten a job at the Bay Mirror as an advice columnist. They meet here every other day to catch up with each other during the week and on the weekends, they ate brunch here.
"It's not that funny guys." Piper said trying to defend her actions. But in the back of her head, she thought it was a little funny. Here she was a grown 25 year old woman, acting like a seventeen year old. It was all because of Leo. She hadn't stopped thinking about him. It wasn't helping that her sisters were hounding her, forcing her to tell them every detail of the night before. She couldn't wait for lunch to be over because then maybe she could get her mind off of Leo.
"Wait one minute." Prue yelled out cutting Phoebe off. "Sorry Pheebs, but um I think Leo's at the coffee house across the street." Prue continued. Everyone's heads snapped up and looked to where Prue was pointing. "I don't see him." Paige replied.
"He's the really cute blond over there."
"Oh the one in the blue shirt?" Phoebe asked her eyes opening wide. "He's hot." She continued. Piper nodded and excused herself from her sisters. In all the commotion, he had turned and saw her and was now making his way towards the group. Piper definitely didn't want her sisters to embarrass her especially in front of him and left the table to talk to him in private.
"Hey Piper." He said as soon as she was next to him. "Hi Leo. What are you doing here?"
"Oh I was going to get some coffee before my shift started. And you?"
"I was eating brunch with my sisters. It's a weekly thing. I had a really good time last night." She replied with a smile. He smiled back.
"Me too. So I was wondering if you weren't busy, would you maybe go out with me again tonight?" He nervously asked her.
"I would love to. Do you want me to make reservations somewhere?"
"No. I think I have a date idea in mind."
"Okay. What time?"
"Can we go a little earlier, like around 5?"
"Sure."
"So, I'll pick you up at five?"
"Yes. Where are we going?"
"You will just have to wait and see." He replied. She smiled causing him to smile back.
"I hate to cut this short, but I have to get to work." He replied after looking at his watch.
"Okay, I'll see you tonight at five."
He nodded and awkwardly waved goodbye before heading off. She returned to her sisters who each had a look of confusion on their faces.
"I got another date tonight."
"With him? You go girl." Phoebe teased. Piper blushed. "So tell me, how bad ya got it?" Paige chimed in. "Leave her alone. She's blushing." Prue joked. "You guys are mean. It's just a date. It's nothing." Piper tried to defend herself. "Then stop blushing." Phoebe teased.
"I'm not blushing, I'm just really hot."
"Yeah, hot for Leo." Paige continued. Piper didn't immediate reply. She sighed. "Yeah, I know. All you have been saying is true. I like him a lot. And I'm scared."
"Why Piper? He seems like a great guy. Or at least that's what you keep saying." Prue asked more seriously. "The last time I moved fast was with Jeremy and look how that turned out." Piper softly replied. Her sisters, sighed, concerned filled there faces. "Look, Piper. Take it slow. Leo is not Jeremy. At least I hope not. Just have some fun. It's just a date. Nothing serious right?" Phoebe reassured. Paige and Prue nodded in agreement. Piper smiled. "That's why you are the best advice columnist in all of San Francisco."

After they finished their brunch, the sisters decided to have a mall day so that Piper could get a new outfit for her date. Piper was against the idea from the start because shopping with her sisters meant lingerie shopping even though Piper knew that her and Leo were not at that stage quite yet. Her stubborn sisters didn't listen saying 'it will be used eventually.'
They finished up at the mall at around 1:30. They were going to go to the movies afterwards, but then Paige had an emergency at work. The three eldest continued to hang out at the mall. They got some frozen yogurt and hung out for an hour or so. They then left because Phoebe had a deadline at the paper and Prue was going on a late lunch date with Andy at 3. Once they went their separate ways, or more accurately once they dropped Phoebe off at her and Paige's shared apartment because she didn't have a car, Piper and Prue headed back to their apartment.
Time seemed to move slowly for Piper. It probably didn't help that once Prue left with Andy for their date, that she was all alone. With nobody to keep her company, Piper decided to watch a movie. Once it was over, she had just enough time to get ready.
Leo again was there promptly. He had been waiting for this all day. He had a hard shift today at work and was thrilled to be seeing Piper as a reward. He couldn't stop thinking about her since he saw her this morning. Actually, he hadn't stopped thinking about her since last night. He took a deep breathe before knocking. As soon as Piper opened the door, he smiled. She looked absolutely stunning with her hair pulled back into a ponytail while wearing a casual green summer dress with white flowers going down the side. The perfect outfit for their plans tonight.
"Hi. Leo, come on in." She nervously stammered out. She moved over to let him pass and he bent down to kiss her cheek. "You look great." He whispered, into her ear. "Thanks." She giggled. He pulled away and their eyes met. She smiled shyly and he looked away and blushed. "So um, should we go?" She asked rather embarrassed of her actions. "Yes" he replied, the same embarrassment present in his voice. "I'm going to go get my purse, I'll be right back." She said before leaving the room. He simply nodded.
Once in her room, she closed her eyes and sighed. She tried to remember Phoebe's advice at brunch. Taking a deep breath she grabbed her purse, checked herself in the mirror once more and joined Leo.
"So where are we going?" She asked when she entered the room. Leo, lost in thought, smiled upon her return. "I was thinking the beach. We could have dinner at the pier than go for a nice walk. But if that's too cheesy, we can go somewhere else."
"No, that sounds lovely. It's been a very long time since I've been to a beach. Let's go." She replied with a little hesitation. Leo paused. "Are you sure? We could go somewhere else."
"No, let's go it sounds fun."
"Alright. Come this way." He smiled at her before linking his arm with hers. Just the simple touch sent shivers down each of their spines. The shared a brief look and left the apartment.
On the drive to the beach, she was silent, contemplative, lost in her own world. He pulled the car over. "What's wrong?"
"It's nothing."
"Obviously it's something. Please tell me. I knew that the whole beach idea was stupid. We can go..."
"No, I'm sorry. It's just the last time I went to the beach was after my mother died, when I was a child. My grams took all of my sisters there to make us feel better. It didn't really work."
"Oh, I'm so sorry."
"Leo, it's not your fault. It was a long time ago." She smiled at him. He reached over and cupped her cheek. "Where do you want to go? I'll take you anywhere you want to go."
"I want to go to the beach." She replied truthfully.
"We don't have to go there."
"No, I want to. I want, no I need better memories at the beach. Please, let's go there."
"Okay then. We will go there."
She smiled at him and kissed the hand still on her cheek. "Thanks for caring." She whispered. "Why wouldn't I?" He whispered back before leaning down to kiss her. Piper reciprocated the kiss. Before it got to passionate, Piper pulled away and smiled. "You're nothing like the other guys that I've dated before, that's for sure." "I would hope not, seeing as your not with them anymore." He replied. She smiled at him. He smiled back and got back on the road. She reached out to raise the volume of the radio a little, because her favorite song came on. Before she rested her hand back in her lap, Leo reached down and grabbed it. She smiled at him. He smiled back. He kept holding her hand the rest of drive. They weren't talking much but just let the music fill the air.

They had arrived at the pier and quickly decided to eat at the local fish taco place that was there. The time spent waiting for the food was filled with small talk. Throughout all of dinner, they shared childhood memories. Once dinner was over, and Leo again paid the check, they went for a walk on the beach. They took off their shoes and put them in Piper's purse, so that they could feel the sand in between their toes. They walked for a while and when they reached a tiny grassy, hill next to the beach they decided to sit down and rest, right next to each other, holding hands. It was perfect timing, because the sun started to set.
Piper sat and watched as the sun started to hit the the water. Leo watched her. "It's so beautiful," Piper whispered. "yes, you are," Leo whispered back. Piper tore her eyes away from the sunset and stared up at Leo. "You're cheesy. I like cheesy." He smiled and leaned in to kiss her. She cupped his cheek and returned the kiss, the setting sun in the background. It was a picture perfect moment, one that both of them were confident that they would remember forever.
Reluctantly, Piper pulled away but they continued to gaze into each other's eyes. Leo kissrd the hand that was still on his cheek. Piper smiled and readjusted herself so that she could rest her head on Leo's shoulder. Leo wrapped his arm around her when she shivered and placed a kiss on the top of her head. They sat there lost in there own world, until after the sun had set completely.
Leo pulled Piper to her feet and wrapped his jacket around her. She smiled. "How about some ice cream?" He asked her. "Sounds good." Luckily for them there was an ice cream vender not too far from where they were. Leo got them some Vanilla ice cream cones. Once he handed Piper hers, he wrapped his arm around her waist and the pair continued to walk in the darkness. They ate their ice cream in between kisses and laughs. Once they were finished, they decided to head back.
Leo continued to hold Piper in her arms, and Piper walked as close to Leo as she could. They walked in silence. Finally, Piper spoke.
"Leo."
"Yes Piper?"
"Tell me something."
"What?"
"Anything you want me to know. Please." He stopped them and turned her around so she was facing him. He sighed.
"Ok, fine. I mean you did tell me about your mom. Um, let's see... I lost my mom when I was young too. To cancer, which is why I became an oncologist. I wanted to help people find the right treatment when they get cancer so that no other little boys would grow up without their moms. I know, it's stupid, but.."
"It's not stupid. That's the most inspirational thing I have ever heard."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
He smiled at her and she returned to her place right next to him, with his arm draped over her shoulder. He kissed her head again, and they continued their walk.
"Piper,"
"Yeah Leo?"
"You're the first person I told that to."
"Wow, I must be special then huh?"
"Yeah I guess."
"Leo, thanks for giving me a great beach memory."
"You're welcome." They shared a small kiss. They had already made their way back to Leo's car and Leo drove Piper home. The whole way back they thought about the date and how much that they had begun to fall for the other.
