"You're late," Sasuke drawled. Naruto gulped, "I, uh, had something to do." Sasuke's eyes narrowed as he caught Naruto's nervous stutter. He pulled his arm away from Sakura who was still gaping in surprise at the blond.
"Naruto?!" Sakura held her hand over her mouth and elbowed Ino not so subtly in the side. Naruto nervously looked down at his shoes, under the scrutiny of four out of five of his childhood bullies. The only one missing from the list of bullies was Tenten, who was probably practicing her martial arts. Ino stopped doing her hair to look at him, and Neji smirked as he took a sip of tea.
Naruto turned quickly to leave, "I think I'll just go now," he muttered. Sasuke raised his brow inquisitively, "Where do you think you're going? Sit down." The blond sighed, "I'd rather not. Now if you'll excuse me, I have class to get to." He hurried from the roof, leaving behind what was probably a fuming raven haired bastard.
Sasuke frowned, his obsidian eyes glaring at the open doorway where Naruto had hastily ran to. Neji chuckled, "I think he might still be nervous around me." The raven turned to his friend, and looked at him questioningly. Neji smirked, "I took his first kiss. He had always been looking at me back in middle school, I thought he liked me. He was kind of cute so I thought I might as well give him what he wanted." Anger boiled from the pit of Sasuke's stomach, bordering the edge of rage as he heard the words spilling from the brunette's mouth, and he had no idea why. He frowned and glared at his friend.
Neji shook his head at the thought, "I didn't expect him to punch me in the face. Of course I gave it back to him tenfold. Still, he has a mean left hook." He rubbed his cheek at the memory of the shocked blond lashing out and immediately wiping his mouth. To be honest the blond had knocked him off his feet, literally. Neji smirked, 'Interesting.'
Sasuke's eyes narrowed as he noticed the smirk on his friends face, getting a back feeling. He shrugged it off and stood up. He yawned before nudging Neji's arm with his foot, "Let's go. We have gym together today." Neji nodded and stood up, gracefully flicking a strand of his long hair back over his shoulder. Sasuke stretched his arms out before putting his hands in his pockets and the two both walked down the stairs that led to the roof.
Naruto slowly entered the male locker room, one of the number one places to get bullied. He prayed with his entire being that Sasuke would just skip gym and preferably the rest of his classes all together. Naruto looked around, hardly anyone was there but being cautionary he went straight to the corner where he could change quietly without anyone to bother him. He had just lifted his orange shirt above his head as Sasuke and Neji walked in.
Naruto gulped and changed as quickly possible, almost falling as his hurt leg got tangled within one of the pant legs. Sasuke smirked, "I forgot we had this class together." He walked over to the blond who was trying to tie his shoes and run away. "I guess you really were raised in a barn. What kind of person denies lunch with their friend?" Naruto turned to the raven, "You know damn well why I walked away. Why do you keep doing this to me?"
Naruto bit his lip and turned away, mad at his ex-friend. "You, you're a stupid bastard and an asshole!" He stood up and ran away as fast as he could with a slight limp. Sasuke caught up to him in seconds and grabbed his arm, pulling him back. Naruto grimaced as he felt himself being led away by the very person he was trying to escape from. He snapped his arm away as soon Sasuke was satisfied at finding a quiet place to do whatever.
Sasuke crossed his arms, "I tried to have lunch with you, why are you so mad?" Naruto rolled his eyes, "You commanded me to come up see you, besides what makes you think I'd ever want to have lunch with you and all of them?" Naruto glared at him, "You're a jerk. A stupid, selfish jerk with absolutely no reason to try and make my life hell, well I have something to say to you, stop."
Sasuke leaned forward; making Naruto back into a wall, 'Shit, is he going to hit me?' He gulped as Sasuke smirked, "And you are a dobe, loser, and a dumb ass that should be glad to sit with someone like me." Naruto snorted, "Conceited much? Seriously, can someone get anymore full of themselves?" Sasuke scowled and Naruto looked everywhere except at the person in front of him.
"I hate to interrupt your lovers spat, but we have to get to class." The two turned to see Neji with a bemused smirked on his lips. Naruto pushed Sasuke away, glared at him one last time, and walked back to class. He let out a huff of annoyance, even after so long Sasuke could still get under his nerves in a seconds. Naruto made his way to the large crowd of students, barely making it in time for roll call.
"Sasuke Uchiha!?" Guy-sensei announced loudly.
"Here," The Raven drawled as he stood next to Naruto. Naruto rolled his eyes and scooted away a little bit.
"Naruto Uzumaki!?"
"Here!" He even raised his hand so Guy-sensei could see him. Guy- sensei grinned at him and gave him thumbs up, "I like your spirit! Alright everyone, let's run! The first one to get around the school and back is in for a treat!" The students let out a noise of disapproval as they unwillingly followed their teacher in the gaudy green jumpsuit to the starting line. Naruto stretched quickly, being careful of his injured leg.
Sasuke smirked at him, "Try not to come in last place, dobe." Naruto's brow twitched, 'This bastard!' He lined up to the left his enemy, childish anger burning inside of him, 'I'll wipe the smugness off of his face, believe it! Fuck my leg I'm going all out!' Guy-sensei blew his whistle and the race started. Sasuke and Naruto both sprinted forward at the shrill sound. Naruto frowned in frustration as Sasuke was still slightly faster than him and pushed himself harder.
The two were panting heavily as they rounded the corner to the baseball field, occupied by a couple of bored students playing ball during their second lunch period. Sasuke glanced at them in time to notice the batter hit a fly ball in their direction. He paused suddenly, seeing Naruto grin at him as he took the lead and his face change, with his eyes practically popping out of his head as he noticed the balling soaring towards him. Naruto fell to the ground a second later with a glorious screech of surprise, while the rest of the class had arrived just in time to see the fall caused by the fly ball hitting Naruto square in the face. Sasuke normally would have laughed at the comical scene had the blond popped back up like he usually did, but he lay there unmoving on the ground. Stunned silence took over the crowd as Guy-sensei ran to Naruto's side, "He's unconscious."
Guy-sensei shook his head and turned to Sasuke, "You! Take him to the nurse while I catch those miscreants! Come on class, let's chase them down!" Guy-sensei ran off in a storm, with a reluctant class of kids trying to keep up with the spirited teacher. Sasuke scratched his head before crouching down and shaking the blond to try and wake him up. He sighed when he got no response and pulled the boy up by his arms, getting into the piggyback position which is a lot harder to do with an unconscious person.
Sasuke managed to maneuver Naruto onto his back and began heading to the Nurse's office. He sighed; he had no idea where it was and walked towards the school office since it was probably right next to it if not inside it. Naruto's head rested against his shoulder as he slowly walked towards the building and climbed up the stairs to get to the office, which was unfortunately on the second floor. He smirked when he saw how right he was about the Nurse's office being near the teacher's office.
Sasuke shifted Naruto on his back so he could open the door and walked inside the room. He looked around, the nurse nowhere in sight, typical. The raven dumped Naruto on the empty bed and proceeded to leave. He paused before he walked back and pulled the scratchy blanket over his former friend and adjusted the pillow underneath the boy's head. Sasuke clicked his tongue before he walked over to the mini fridge in the corner and got an icepack out. He got a paper towel and wrapped it around the icepack before gently pressing it to Naruto's swollen cheek.
Sasuke chuckled as he looked down at the unconscious blond and he tenderly moved the golden bangs from his forehead. His brows furrowed instantly as he realized what he was doing and he stood up to leave. Sasuke slammed the door closed behind him and head back to class, 'What the hell was I doing?'
