Oh my gosh I am so sorry I haven't updated lately! I've been so busy that writing kind of had to be put on the side! Happy 4th everyone and there is some slight KakaIru and the begining of possible NejiKiba, no likey just skip over.
Kiba's mouth fell open in disbelief, "WHAT?!" Naruto winced and covered his ears, "Jeez, I'm the one who should be freaking out." Kiba turned to him, "Did he do anything else? Is he the one who hurt you?" He asked, gesturing to his cheek for shook his head, "I was hit by a baseball." Kiba's face sunk in confusion, "How did that happen?" Naruto ran his hand through his hair, "It's been a long day." Kiba slapped his hands on the wheel, "Was it at least an accident? Like the first time in elementary, where you were pushed?"
Naruto shrugged,"I don't know. I don't know what it was, it just happened." Kiba scratched his cheek, "Happened? That doesn't normally 'happen' you know." Naruto sighed, "Let's just leave it at that." Kiba frowned, "What the hell man?" He shook his head, "With that douchebag?" Naruto grinned before wincing due to his hurt cheek, "Ya know, surprisingly still not the worst day I've had." Kiba patted his friend on the shoulder, "Dude, how are you like this? You are the most optimistic fucker I've ever known." Naruto shrugged, "It's a talent. My only regret is not being able to punch him in the face."
Kiba smirked, "There's always tomorrow!"
"Believe it!" They fist bumped before giggling like little kids. Kiba started the car, and pulled out of the near empty parking lot. Naruto gently rubbed a hand over his cheek as he watched the changing scenery outside the window, and abruptly turned to Kiba as they turned the corner to the apartment complex. "Shit, Iruka!" Kiba's eyes widened, and shook his head, "Good luck with that." Kiba grinned as he watched his best friend get out of the car. Naruto opened the back door and pulled his bag up, before sighing, "See you later."
"Later." Kiba waved goodbye before he felt his phone scream in his pocket. He groaned as he recognized the screaming ringtone he had set especially for his older sister. Kiba shuddered as he opened the text, Hey dogface get groceries, need dog food and milk. He frowned not wanting to get groceries, but there was no way he'd ever let Akamaru go without dinner, he was a growing dog after all. Kiba watched as Naruto disappeared into the apartment, chuckling at how he'd probably hear a story about Iruka's wrath tomorrow.
A few minutes later Naruto slowly opened the door, poking his head in first to take in his surroundings. He smirked, no sign of Iruka. Naruto casually walked into his apartment and began to head for his room.
"Oh, Naruto you're home, welcome back! I didn't hear you come in." The blond tensed his back still towards Iruka.
"Y-yeah, Kiba just dropped me off. I was just going to go to bed now, goodnight." Before he could make it to his room he found himself being stopped by a hand on his shoulder and being turned around.
"I just made dinner, your favorite; at least eat dinner before you- " Iruka paused his rant as he took in his son's injured face, mother hen mode coming out. "Are you okay? How did this happen? Nothing is broken? Did you get into a fight?" Naruto groaned as Iruka poked and prodded at his face, inspecting for any further damage. Iruka sighed as he found nothing more than a bruised cheek and put his hands on his hips, "Why didn't I get a call? How come it seems that lately every time you come home something bad has happened?"
"Maa, Iruka-chan, boys will be boys. Besides it was an accident that happened and he was hit by a stray baseball." Naruto's mouth fell open as he took in the face of his masked teacher, sheepishly smiling at him. He pointed at the silver haired man, "What are YOU doing in my house?!" Iruka sighed and slapped Naruto's hand, "That's rude. Naruto, Kakashi is an old colleague of mine who so kindly invited himself to have dinner at our home tonight." Naruto took a step back as Iruka's eye twitched as he turned to look at the silver haired man. Kakashi smiled at him as he continued to back away, "Shouldn't we eat dinner, it's going to get cold, Iruka-chan."
Shit.
Iruka stormed forward and grabbed the back of his teacher's collar, dragging him away to his possible death.
"Feel free to eat without us," Iruka said as the two disappeared into his room. Suddenly his appetite left as he heard the crash of glass against a hard surface. Naruto shook his head; it was Kakashi's own fault for his death. The blond quickly retreated to his room as he heard more muffled noises coming from behind the door, he didn't really want to hear whatever else happened.
…
Kiba nonchalantly entered the mini-market, hands in pockets as he set out to find the brand of food for his special boy. He grinned as he noticed the familiar straight raven hair of his shy friend, "Hinata!" Kiba waved at her and her face instantly reddened as her name was called loudly in the middle of a store without an honorific. She waved back as he walked over to her, "So what are you here for? I just had to get Akamaru some food and milk."
"O-oh I'm j-just here to g-get some groceries w-with N-neji." Kiba nodded, his smile dropping slightly at the mention of her cousin. He didn't like that guy, not only was he an asshole and a pretentious prick, he smelled weird and Kiba could never figure out why, since there was no way a guy like Neji would ever smell, he probably took like four showers a day. Kiba rubbed his nose as that oh so familiar smell hit his nose and frowned as he watched Neji step in front of his cousin.
"Still associating yourself with such vulgar people I see, Uncle will be very upset when I mention this to him, Hinata."
"Fuck you, Neji. Mind your own goddamn business! My being friends with Hinata has nothing to do with you." Neji frowned and glared at Kiba, "Watch your mouth in front of ladies, you mutt." Kiba smirked, "I'll say whatever the fuck I want to. I'm sorry Hinata, that your cousin is such a motherfucking asshole who tries to control your entire life." He gulped at the murderous look in Neji's eye, oh there was going to be hell to pay, but it was worth it. Luckily Neji seemed to have a sense of where they were and dragged Hinata away before he had a chance to say more.
Kiba sighed, poor Hinata was probably going to suffer because of him, he'd apologize again tomorrow, maybe buy her lunch. He only had to worry about what Neji was going to do; there was no way Neji was going to easily let him off for that, he just hoped it wasn't too bad. Kiba roughly scratched at the back of his head with both hands, shit he should not have picked a fight with the Judo captain that was like signing a death wish. He groaned and went to the back of the store to get what he came for and get the hell back to his apartment and just chill with his dog.
…
Naruto plopped down on his bed, his energetic body urging him to do something before he lost his mind. He was filled with the urge to run off his troubles and blow off steam, especially after the day he'd had. Naruto sat up and took off his uniform jacket, revealing his neon orange shirt and turned picking up a pair of blue shorts he'd thrown on the floor while he was looking for his pants. He shimmied out of his pants and easily slipped the shorts back on. Naruto walked down the hall and looked in the dining room, finding a still uneaten dinner; maybe Iruka really did kill Kakashi.
He lightly knocked on the door, "Hey can I go out for a run? I'll be back in an hour, I promise." There were some shuffling noises, "Y-yes you may, see you s-soon! Don't get a c-cramp!" Naruto paused, "Are you okay? Is your throat sore? You sound a little different, do you need medicine?"
"I'm fine Naruto! It's your imagination!" The blond shrugged, "Whatever you say. I'll be back soon." Naruto walked back to the front door and slipped a pair of worn out sneakers on and quickly tied the laces haphazardly. He took the elevator down to the main floor and smiled at the landlady as he walked passed her. At first he started out with a light jog and mulled over things. Thoughts of Sasuke pushed him harder and harder and Naruto let his feet be his guide as to where he arrived. He put his hand on his knees as he caught his breath, choking down oxygen as if he couldn't get enough no matter how many breaths he took. Naruto slammed his hand onto the tree next to him, "Who…does…that bastard think he is?!" He growled taking breaths in between.
Why did that pompous jerk always have such an effect on him? Naruto looked around for the first time and found that he ended up at a park a few miles from his home. He lifted his shirt and wiped the sweat off of his forehead and found himself remembering the incident he stumbled upon the last time he was in a park. Naruto rolled his eyes; if Sasuke had Sakura why in the hell did he kiss him? He sat his perky ass down in a swing, just because he was older didn't mean he couldn't enjoy playing around in a park occasionally. Naruto sighed before he jumped out of the swing suddenly, eyes alight with fierce determination, 'That's it! The next time I see him I'm going to sock him straight in the face and rid myself of that prick!'
Naruto took off back home with renewed vigor running through his already energetic system, Sasuke was going down, believe it! When he got back to the apartment complex he challenged himself further and bounded up the stairs, his heart pounding so hard it felt as if it was about to burst, ringing in his ears. Iruka had just opened the door to see if Naruto was in sight as the blond collapsed in his arms, wheezing and drenched in sweat.
"Oh my god, Naruto are you okay?!" Iruka dragged the unresponsive blond inside their home before they both collapsed on the floor. Naruto let out a breathy laugh, "I… ran a little too hard." Iruka wiped the sweat drenched locks from his son's forehead knowing full well that running was his son's way of relieving stress, "I'm sorry. I know things have been a little stressful lately with us moving into a new home and you to a new school. I know you had to make new friends and sometimes that can be really hard." Naruto grinned, "I'm fine, and it's just different is all." He grinned," Ne~ is Kakashi-sensei the colleague you're always hanging out with?" Iruka blushed turning red like a tomato all the way to his ears. He covered his burning face with his hands, "W-what makes you think that?" Naruto laughed, "I'm not a kid anymore! I think I can at least tell what is happening!" The shade of red darkened and Iruka turned his head to the side, "I am so going to kill him!"
"Really? Look what happened last time." Iruka slapped Naruto on the forehead, "Naruto!" The blond grinned, "Are you two in love? I'm completely fine with it by the way, it's perfect actually, now I can get an A+ in that class." Iruka nodded and smiled as he gently thread his hands through his son's hair, gazing down into the blue depths of Naruto's eyes. He should have known Naruto would accept him no matter what, but he was still relieved. Iruka leaned down and kissed between his son's beautiful blue eyes, "Thank you." Naruto grinned for all he was worth, his grin was so wide his cheeks almost hurt but he couldn't help it, he may sometimes get scared but there was no way he could ever hate his caretaker. Iruka was the parent he never had and he meant the world to him no matter what. Sasuke was the first person to even care, even if it was only as a kid, he just needed someone to smack some sense into him, believe it!
Iruka smiled at him, "I think you need to get a shower, the stench has finally caught back up to you." Naruto chuckled and sat up from his place on Iruka's lap, oh he was going to be sore tomorrow. The brunette stood up and helped his son to his feet, "I'll go re-heat your dinner since you never ate." He shook his head, "Naruto, not eating dinner, what has happened to the world?!" Naruto giggled, and stumbled to the bathroom to take a quick shower.
Thanks to Iruka he finally knew how he was going to deal with the legendary Sasuke Uchiha.
