Katniss POV

"Would you like to join me for a dip?" I find myself asking. Knowing that I can get this sort of reaction out of a guy like Peeta has given me a new-found confidence. He visibly swallows and tenses before nodding his head.

He rushes off to change while I gather my stuff and move outside. The day is perfect, sunny but so much that it's overbearing. The sky has a few puffy white clouds and there's an occasional breeze. I set my stuff up on one of the chairs before jumping into the pool. Hey, I really wanted to swim, Peeta seeing me in a bikini is just a bonus in my plan.

A few minutes later he comes back and even though I'm surrounded by water my mouth goes impossibly dry. My eyes are probably as wide as saucers but I don't care, the sight in front of me in worth it. Peeta is standing there and it looks like Michelangelo sculpted him. His pecs and abs look stone hard and I have to resist the urge to run my hands all over his chest. His shorts hang dangerously low and I can faintly see the dark blond hairs that lead further into his shorts, I don't think I have ever been more mad at a piece of clothes.

"Take a picture it'll last longer, Everdeen." Peeta says from above and it brings me out of my daydreams. I don't need to look at his face to see that he's smirking.

"In your dreams, Mellark." I say flatly.

"You know it." He says saucily. I look up with wide eyes and my jaw on the floor of the pool while he smirks and winks at me. Did he just flirt with me? What do I do? Oh crap. My mind goes blank but in this time Peeta has jumped into the pool and I swimming around me.

"Just gonna float there and watch me swim, well that's all right because I like the way it...feels." Peeta sings in an off-key voice making me burst out laughing at his song choice and the wording.

"I am a water bender." I state while moving the water with my hands and splashing Peeta.

"Calm down, Katara." He says as he chuckles at me antics. I laugh with him and then float on my back watching the clouds move. I start to do something I haven't done in a long time, I relax. I close my eyes and then suddenly I'm lifted up out of the water and I look up at the criminal. Peeta is looking down at me with a big smile.

"Why did you have to ruin my moment of peace?" I whine which makes him smile more.

"Well I can't have you getting too comfortable now can I?" He laughs.

I just whine and he smirks. I look into his eyes and remember that before the fight with Gale, we kissed. Does that mean that I can kiss him now? Life's too short to not take risks. I make up my mind and I wrap my arms around Peeta's neck before pulling his head down to my own. His eyes widen slightly but he doesn't resist as our lips touch, hesitantly at first but then more surely and passionately. And let me tell you, he can kiss. Our kiss becomes frenzied as we both let our feelings out into the kiss. The need for air makes us break apart but I need more of Peeta. I kiss Peeta's throat until I find his sweet spot, I kiss and suck at his sweet spot while he groans. He pulls me back and kisses me once more.

We break apart and he leans closer to me so that our foreheads are touching.

"Will you go on a date with me?" He asks out of breath and slightly panting.

"Yes." I respond

"Pick you up at eight. Wear casual clothess." He smiles.

Hours later, when Clove and Jo get back, they notice something different about me so they go into detective mode, which explains why I eventually spill the beans about everything. The smirk devilishly once they hear about my date with him. Oh no.

"No. Whatever you guys are thinking, NO."

"Oh Katniss but you need us." Clove says as she and Jo grab my arms.
