They wanted revenge no one hurt their nakama and got away with it at the moment though they had to hello the injured mage recover before they could hurt the man that did it. It has been days and he hadn't shown any signs of waking up yet. They had to make sure someone was with him at all times to make sure his magic didn't destroy the guild. Thankfully at the moment there had been no incidents of late the last being when they first brought the Midnight back to the guild. No one knew what to do with him, they didn't even no if he would wake up and if he did what state he'd be in. if when they found him was anything to go bye it didn't look like good news.
They didn't want to give up yet though so they just had to sit tight and wait it out. Lucy didn't know why she couldn't bare to leave the injured mage side she'd been confused about the mage a lot lately. She had no idea what her feelings where on the broken man in front of her she must just feel sorry for him. Yes that was it Lucy hated seeing anything hurt plus she was keeping Cobra Company.
That was another mystery Cobra had moved from his spot by Midnight's bed less then she had, as far as she knew they weren't that close she kind of expected Angel to be the one that didn't move however Angel was the one making sure Cobra and occasionally her eat. Glancing at. Cobra was when she remembered that he could hear everything she was thinking in luring her jumbled feelings. Cobra couldn't help the small smirk as Lucy turned bright red.
"So that's why your still here" by this time if possible she turned an even darker shade of red.
"Why are you here" she stutter trying to change the subject Lucy, I knew you had a crush on him" Cobra laughed. Lucy didn't know how to reply. Sighing she gave up on the idea of trying to defend herself to the mage who could read minds.
"But really why are you still here Cobra" she asked as his laughed died down. Why should I tell you" "it's only fair seeing as you heard my thoughts?"
" It's not my fault you think loudly" it took all of Lucy's self control not to throw something at him.
"Seriously Lucy its none of your business"
"What's going on in my heads none of yours but you still hear my thoughts" Cobra was saved from answering when angel walked in the room.
"How is he" Angel practically whispers.
"No different" Cobra replied.
"Oh" Angel proceeded to take her seat next to Cobra. They sat in silence like until Mira Jane came to tell them the guild was closing. Lucy stood up and made her way reluctantly out the room. When she noticed Cobra hadn't moved.
"What's wrong?" she asks Shh was he reply.
Lucy looked at Angel who just shrugged. I can hear him" was he phrase that broke the silence.
"What does that mean Cobra?"
"It means he's waking up" was the response. To further express the point the mage in question let out a small moan. Against all odds Midnight had woken up. As soon as he noticed he wasn't alone in the room he nearly trough himself of the bed trying to get away.
"Calm down" The comment didn't seem to calm the panicking Mage who was practically hyperventilating.
They had no idea what to do, that's when they realized that he didn't think they where really there. So Lucy reached towards him. Placing her hand on his shoulder had an instant reaction, as he was able to realize who was in the room with him.
"Lucy" he stuttered, she just nodded " Zero?"
" He's gone" Cobra replied. The mage just nodded closing his eyes again.
"Why are you letting him sleep what if..." Cobra cut Lucy off
" He always needed twice as much sleep as us leave it" he sighed
"But what if…"
"He's dreaming stop worrying" Cobra yet again cut her off.
"Lucy are you going to leave?" Cobra smirked That's when Lucy noticed what time it was and made her hasty retreat to her apartment with the promise she would be back first thing in the morning. Cobra and Angel watched as she left.
"What now?" Angel asked.
"Well we wait I guess." He must of fallen asleep was the first thing that crossed his mind as he tried to stand up from his awkward position I the floor. Smiling slightly as he noticed Angel sprawled out half on the seat and half on the bed. Then he glanced staring into red blank eyes.
"Midnight?" there was no response he didn't understand he seemed fine yesterday and now he couldn't even hear his thoughts. That's when Angel began to stair.
"What's going on?" she asks sleepily, Cobra just nodded his head towards the other mage in the room. That's when they noticed the slight trembling.
"Midnight?" they got a whimper as response. They didn't know what to do. That's when Lucy made he timely entrance.
"What's going on?" she asks wide eyed
"We don't know Lucy" cobra says trying to hear the mages thoughts. Cobra shook his head in defeat Lucy looked at him expectantly.
"There to fast to process we should tell Makarov that he's awake, seeing the other mages making no effort to move Angel decided to go hunt for the master, she hopped the other two wouldn't make the situation worse in her absence.
