I couldn't believe it, he was gone.

Storm's lifeless body laid on the frosty ground as the age old war between the Furies and Trappers raged on. I had sent Ground-Rocker, the armies general, off to gather all the Trappers on the landing circle with his small cave clearing team, the rest of the dragons on the island were trying to protect their families, just as Storm has done multiple times.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I stood, hunched in my brothers dragon hug. Night was trying to do his best to comfort me, but it's hard to comfort someone when you too need comforting.

A hand rested on my back, I didn't turn to see who it was owned by, I just felt grateful for it being there.

I eventually left my brothers warmth and faced the dead dragon, he had lived a long and prosperous life, nearly ninety. I was just upset I was only in his life for such a short amount of time.

"Gale…." Astrid had started, breaking the sorrow filled silence, I just looked at her out of the corner of my eye.

I would have said something in return but a certain Trapper decided to use this time to try and escape.

"DON'T!" I screamed at him, raging towards the older man. As I got closer my jaw tightened, my words only being able to hiss through my teeth, "Don't you dare move or I will get the entire Fury army to track you down and kill you, no mercy!"

It seemed to work, until a smug grin started to grow on his scar ridden face.

"And who gave you the authority to do that?" He said, "I know Fury Island laws, only a Fury can be chief and, I just killed the last Fury."

I short growl escaped my clamped lips as he uttered the last part, "You may have killed the last Fury, but as a species, the Fury clan lives on." I spat, " And I'm the heir"

His face slowly fell, but a small smile still stayed.

"I will not be beaten by some sixteen year old girl!" He yelled, I narrowly avoided his swinging leg as he attempted to knock me to the floor. He grabbed for his sword but I got to it first and held it up to his neck.

"You have been beaten by a fifteen year old girl" I said, not taking my eyes off of his, "You just have to face the fact you Trappers are never gonna win, you can kill my army, you can kill my chief, you can kill me for all I care, but you will never win!"

"Sixteen" Was all he muttered, "You should have just turned sixteen, same as that over grown lizard behind you."

"How would you know!"

"Because I was at the raid when you were born, I was new to the army then." His eyes narrowed and looked at the sword I still held strongly at his neck, "Your mother was foolish, trusting the dragons, it's no wonder she was banished from her tribe."

"My mother?" I asked, the sword slipping in my hands, the dragons rarely ever spoke of her, said she trusted the dragons as her own family, lived with them for three years, "My mother died after having me!"

"Is that what the dragons told you?" He said with a small laugh, "Your mother survived, that was, until I killed her."

"You? Y-you killed her?" My voice broke as I stammered out the words, the word that still felt foreign on my tongue, "Why?"

"Because she betrayed our tribe, she sided with the dragons!"

"Our tribe?"

"Such a shame really, she looked just like you when she was your age, only your eyes are different." The sword finally left my hands and fell to the ground with a loud clang, "I wouldn't even be able to hold that sword if I were you, same one I used that night."

"SHUT UP" I screamed, there was a small shuffle behind me as the trio stepped back, shocked from my sudden outburst, "I WANT YOU OFF MY ISLAND!"

"What?" He asked, seeming genuinely confused, "You're not going to kill me?"

"No, I'm not a killer. No matter what they've done" I looked behind me at Storm's body, would he be proud, "But…. If I ever see you on this island again, with or without your trappers, I will personally throw you to the Alpha!"

"And who's gonna make me?"

I smiled and whistled, it was high and long, much like a Night Fury, but it wasn't.

When something returned the call my smile broadened.

"Well, if my general did his job right, your men should be waiting on your ships." There was a breeze as the same Forest Fury from earlier swooped in and plucked the Trapper from the ground and carried him off, to the horizon where you could just see crowded ships sailing away.

I let out a sigh as the Trapper was dropped into the sea next to a boat, he was just lucky they arrived in the few months it didn't snow here, he would have frozen to death instantly.

"Is that it? Is it over?" Hiccup asked behind me, taking a cautious step forward.

"For now, they always return" I replied with a small nod, "But we have more important matters to attend to for now."

"Such as?" Astrid said, also stepping forward to stand next to the smaller boy.

"Well, you're gonna need a place to sleep. That is unless you two don't mind sleeping outside, together….. alone."

The reaction I received was almost enough to cheer me up completely, the two looked at each other and took a sidestep away from the other.

"Didn't think so, come on!" I laughed, I began to walk over to them as I stood on the sword, I bent down and picked it up, silently inspecting it.

'Do you want me to destroy it?" Night grumbled over to me.

'No, I've got a much better place for it.' I looked from the sword to the two Vikings who were waiting for me, 'Take them to our cave, I'll be there in a few minutes.' With that I ran to the beach caves.

The beach caves were huge, gaping tunnel like places, no one can live in them as the mouth of them are too big, but to the left is a smaller one. It's where the elder lives. I walked into the cave with the sword clutched in my hand. The cave walls were covered in dragon-claw, the language dragons write in. The writing speaks of different legends, as you near the end you would come across a pile of stones with torches lit around it, the dragon claw above it read; 'Here lies the forever Trustful Beta, we trusted her with our hatch lings, may she trust us with her only kin.'

I have visited this spot in the cave many a time in the past five years, it's where the dragons buried my mother after she was brutally murdered after giving birth to me. I held at my side the very sword that took her life. I laid the sword on top of the stones and stepped back, around the grave were many carvings, the dragons on the island had a thing with carving, guess that's what happens when you have claws.

Many bad things happened that day sixteen years ago, it marked the biggest trapper raid we ever had, my birth, my mothers death, becoming a Fury and of course, Night's hatching, he hatched late at night, making me the eldest and of course heir.

Oh yeah, forgot I'm supposed to be leading the island, oops.

I'm am so sorry, my uploading schedule has officially been destroyed by stupid math tests, I didn't even do well, oh well, any way see you next time people!

Oh yeah, MERRY CHRISTMAS! (or whatever you celebrate, Merry that)
