A/N: This chapter is all action. Silas should have been a better villain. I mean a wizard that can mess with your head. They should have went there. Anyway, excuse the grammatical errors. Lots of violence and bad words. No smut. Sorry, I'll make up for it later.

Disclaimer: Not Mine.

Unintelligible whispers floated through the candle lit cavern. Murmurs too low for understanding, but they all knew who called to them. Amara Maeve was making herself known. Silas was bursting with anticipation. He was trying to meditate to ground his powers but it was no use. Victory danced before his eyes. The preparations were set, and the witches in place. They just needed a touch of extra power to break the curse. The eclipse would provide more than enough. Then they would be unstoppable.

"They're back." A small melodic voice interrupted his thoughts. Silas opened his eyes looking at Bao. "They just took out three of mine and six of Jas's. They are gaining on the entrance."

"The original and his sidekicks?" The petite woman shook her head. "No. There are more of them. The Mikealsons have joined their ranks." Silas smiled. The big bad wolf had come to blow his house down. How many times would he have to show that mutt he was nothing to be trifled with? "And the witch?" The vampire looked down. "They split up and we lost her." Silas eyes closed in frustration. He hated incompetence.

"Prudence dear?" He called standing. Prudence sprang from her place by the altar. Her and the other witches had been waiting, preparing themselves to begin the final stages of the spell. "We have time before the eclipse. Let's take a walk."

Caroline turned, searching for any sign of Stefan, Bonnie and Kol. "Guys we have to stop. We've lost Bonnie and Stefan." Elena slowed turning towards Caroline. Damon halted as well, punching a tree. "Fuck," he exclaimed, passing Caroline, retracing their steps to see if he could spot his brother.

Elijah and Rebekah walked back to the group. "I suppose Kol is with them as well," Elijah said peering into the night. Klaus walked out of the brush naked, blood caked on his skin. Jeremy and Matt followed, snickering. "Why have we stopped," Klaus asked. Rebekah looked over to her brother. She reached in Klaus's pack and tossed him some sweats. "We've lost Kol and his witch."

"And Stefan." Damon added. Klaus sighed stepping into his clothes. "The best course is to continue on to the cavern. Everyone knows that is our goal." Elijah said walking back up the path. Elena sighed. "Yes, but what if they need our help out there." Rebekah followed her eldest brother.

Klaus yawned. "Kol can handle himself, and apparently your witch just keeps coming back." The hybrid quipped going up the path. Damon pursed his lips. He didn't like that they kept leaving out his brother. "I hate to admit it, but they're right. The Ripper is more than capable of protecting himself as well," He said starting up the path. Jeremy and Matt followed.

Caroline stood still trying to see or hear anything. Elena grabbed her hand. "Kol and Stefan can be pretty deadly. Bonnie is a powerhouse. They'll be fine. We'll meet them at the cavern." Elena let go of her friend's hand and started walking up the trail when a giant wolf accosted on her. "ELENA," Caroline yelled moving forward but a tall blond vampire dropped from above. "You're too pretty to be out here at night princess. Don't you know what kind of monsters roam these parts?"

Caroline's face turned. "Yeah. I'm one of them." She dove on the vampire biting into his neck. He hollered turning trying to throw her off. She reached into the bag at her side and grabbed one of her stakes. She drove it through his back piercing his heart and hopped down. His body hit the ground with a thud.

She rushed toward Elena. The brunette had already dispatched of the wolf with one of Alaric's blades. She was moving the carcass off of her when the group ran back to them. The thicket came alive with sound. The bushes stirred. Trees Trembled.

Caroline looked up from Elena. They all were completely surrounded by werewolves and vampires. It was well over twenty of them. "Looks like Silas sent out the welcome party," Damon said moving in front of the girls. A wolf with a red coat emerged from the assemblage growling and baring its teeth.

Klaus's tall frame morphed into a wolf, adding his own snarls to the night. The red werewolf galloped, leaping into the air. An enormous gray wolf attacked her midflight clamping on her throat. "TYLER," Caroline screamed. Then suddenly the world was nothing but motion.

Chaos broke out around them. Matt knew he needed to get above the action to be any help. He spotted a giant oak a yard out, and sprinted towards it. A massive wolf landed in his path almost on top of him. The wolf's jaws snapped at the gun slung on his shoulder. He pulled the weapon away and the beast tore into his leg. Matt howled. He swung the weapon, striking the animal on side of his jaw, eliciting a whimper. He turned the gun and fired. The wolf sunk to the ground instantly.

Matt moved around the creature, hobbling as fast as he could. He hoisted himself in the branches taking position. He set his sights and spied two vampires closing in on Jeremy. He fired a round, and Jeremy's shirt was splattered with vampire blood. The Gilbert boy struck the other in the heart. Unbeknownst to Jeremy, a black wolf paced a few yards away, stalking him. Matt saw this, firing a shot, but missed by a hair. The werewolf burst into motion, moving quickly. Jeremy was on his own.

The wolf chased after Jeremy. Teeth bared and snipping at his ankles. Jeremy ran up the trunk of a nearby tree and flipped backwards, pulling an arrow out in the process. When his feet touch the ground he pulled the trigger on his bow, nailing the confused beast now in front of him. The animal yelped and collapsed. Jeremy turned back to the action to find a vampire bearing down on Elena. He slipped a slender stake into his bow and fired the shot. The vampire was plugged in the stomach. It was just the distraction needed for Elena to snatch out his heart.

Elena tossed the heart in the dirt and lifted her arm, firing two miniature stakes from her wrist. A vampire went down a few feet away. She unclipped a vervain bomb and slung it at the vamps surrounding Rebekah.

Vervain exploded in the air sending Rebekah's attackers to the ground. She ripped off a tree branch and quickly drove it through one of the vamp's heart. The other assailant rose behind her. She turned and bit into his jugular. A popping sound went off and the vamp was sucked into the ground. Rebekah stood in shock peering into the whole. Her third attacker took this as an opportunity. Elijah had other plans. He raised his palm and slapped his head off his shoulders.

A portly vampire poised to attack Elijah watched the bloodied head roll on the forest floor and turned tail, running right into Klaus's waiting jaws. Klaus tore into the man's chest then leaped over Damon's head attacking one of the wolves that had him boxed in.

"Show off," Damon muttered as he wrestled a white wolf to the ground. He got his hands around his snout, twisting quickly, breaking its neck. He picked up the stake he had dropped earlier and flung it at the vamp swinging a branch at Tyler.

The vampire was struck in the shoulder. Tyler leaped and tore into his neck, pumping werewolf venom into his system. The gray wolf got up spotting Caroline head butting a brown-haired vampire. The brunette went stumbling back into a tree.

Black smoke oozed from the tree bark surrounding the terrified creature. She screamed and coughed trying to get away. The blinded vampire ran hysterically until she went straight off a ledge, her cries echoing over the mountain. Caroline stood mouth agape, thanking God silently for Bonnie, her protection spell, and her awesome ancestors.

All around the blonde, Silas's followers were being put down. She watched horrified as a vampire's skin seemingly boiled off before her eyes. There was so much movement, so much action, that Caroline was startled when she spied a petite Asian women taking in the scenery from behind a tree. Caroline watched the woman ease back onto the trail and make her way up the mountain. Caroline sped after her. "And where do you think your going?"

The woman turned quickly her faced covered in black veins. Before Caroline could blink the woman was in front of her. A silver blade appeared and the woman sliced up the blonde's neck, chest, and face. The blue-eyed vampire put all her strength in protecting her heart as she doubled over in pain.

Bao stabbed Caroline in the side repeatedly, the liquid eating into her flesh. The blade had been dipped in holy water. The blonde fell to the ground. Bao got behind her, her blade at the young vampire's neck. Caroline knew she meant to decapitate her. She threw her head back as hard as she could, knocking the woman backwards. Caroline got to her feet rapidly, turning to face her foe.

Bao flew at Caroline knocking her into a tree. The impact felt like it had broken the teenager's back. Caroline looked up just in time to see the woman rear back to strike her. She moved to the left quickly and Bao's hand struck the trunk of the tree. The petite woman cursed, her hand throbbing. Caroline grabbed a fist full of hair and smashed her head into the trunk. The raven-haired vampire wobbled from the impact, and then fell backwards unto the ground.

"Caroline!" Elena screamed chucking her a stake. Caroline caught it and brought it down on the brown-eyed woman. Bao rolled swiftly, dodging the strike, and then getting to her feet. She took off up the trail but Rebekah stood in her path. The original yoked Bao up and sent her flying back to Caroline's feet. Caroline plunged the stake in her heart, watching tiredly as she shriveled. Caroline grabbed her side, limping back to the group. Rebekah joined her. "Thanks," She offered hesitantly. Rebekah smiled. "No big deal. I was actually looking for Donovan."

"Has anyone seen Matt?" Caroline said looking around at the motley crew. Everyone looked tired, except Klaus…and Elijah. Did he really not have a tear or spot of blood anywhere on him?

"I'm up here." Matt said from the oak. Tyler and Jeremy laughed. "You hiding QB." Matt popped his lips. "I needed a good position for the fight." Rebekah looked around smiling. "Fight's over my dear. Unless you see something we don't." Matt sighed. "I'm having trouble getting down. A wolf…" Rebekah, Tyler, and Jeremy sped over to the tree. Tyler climbed up and helped the teenager out of the branches. "Does it hurt? Can you walk?" Rebekah asked concerned. Matt shook his head. Tyler placed him on the ground. Everyone except Klaus and Elijah moved over to the boy.

"I can see the cavern just due east of here. The eclipse is near. We need to move if we are to stop Silas." Elijah said to the group.

"Will he live?" Klaus said bored, observing the gaggle surrounding Matt. "For heaven's sake Nik, give us minute." Rebekah said wiping dirt from Matt's face.

"We don't have a minute. Silas needs to be eliminated preferably before he awakens his equally powerful girlfriend. Just give him some of your blood." Klaus said already moving towards the cavern. Elijah followed.

"I'm fine. I'm fine. It's just my leg. I don't need your blood Becks." Matt said trying to sit up. Damon nodded. He stood and followed the originals. Elena grimaced looking down at Matt. "You sure you're okay?" Matt rolled his eyes. The brunette smiled and ran to catch up to Damon.

"Someone needs to stay with him. He doesn't need to be in the cave." Caroline said worried about her friend but anxious to find Bonnie and Stefan. "I'll stay." Rebekah said looking up at the Blonde then back at Matt who sighed. "I'm fine. I'm a grown man I don't need a babysitter. Just hand me Lucille and I'll be okay. Go help Bonnie."

Jeremy rose from Matt's side. He retrieved Matt's rifle and gave it to him. "Don't think this is going to get you out of our Call of Duty rematch next week. I'm still going to thrash your ass." Matt arched a brow. "Not even on your best day, Gilbert." Jeremy clapped him on the back and made for the trees, his bow on the ready.

Matt looked up at Caroline who was staring up at the mountain. "Caroline go." She looked down at Matt and Rebekah and over to Tyler. She still didn't trust Matt with Rebekah, especially on a mountain crawling with supes who served Silas. They may have slaughtered a bunch but they didn't know how many were out here.

"Hey. I'm going to stay with Matt also." Tyler said taking Caroline to the side. She didn't like the idea of Tyler being out here either, but Matt and Rebekah couldn't stop another group like the one they just fought with just the two of them. I need to be there for Bonnie. "I just need to get to that cave." Tyler hugged her, knowing a part of her didn't want to leave his side. "I know." Caroline looked over Tyler and Matt, "its just…Bonnie needs me." Matt smiled. "Caroline go. I'm fine. I got a rabid dog and a psychotic Blonde to protect me." Caroline laughed.

"Are you okay," She questioned looking over her battle worn boyfriend. What am I thinking? His wounds probably healed ages ago. Freaking hybrids. Mine on the other hand still sting. Ow. "Bae, I got this. Go take care of your best friend." Caroline smiled pulling Tyler into a kiss. Then she took off into the trees.

Tyler turned to find Matt and Rebekah making out. "Oh goody. Instead of kicking Silas's ass, I get stuck with Romeo and Juliet." Rebekah pulled away from Matt. "Your welcome to leave," Rebekah quipped. Tyler shook his head. "Yeah right and have Caroline ream my ass. Nah I'm good. Continue maybe the show will get more interesting." Matt threw a branch at Tyler's head. Tyler laughed stepping to the side. "Not a chance…Hybrid."

Stefan's pace slowed, looking back at Bonnie. She was a little winded. The climb was getting steeper and the forest was just as dense if not more. It was difficult to navigate even with his supernatural gifts. Kol was above them in the trees scouting the way.

"I can see fire about 2 miles northwest of here. I'm pretty sure it's the entrance to the cave. The slope only gets steeper and it's heavily forested. Are you okay kitten?" Kol said jumping down out of the tree branches, handing her his canteen of water.

"I'm fine. I just need a moment? How long before the eclipse?" She said, raising the bottle to her mouth. Kol looked up at the sky. The moon wasn't high enough in the sky. He could only guess.

"About an hour." A blonde headed woman said from a nearby tree branch. She was perched in the tree like she belonged there, like she had been there all along. Black veins spread across the ripper's face. His fangs extended. Kol positioned himself in front of Bonnie. "Prudence Owens. Has Silas let you out to play?" Kol snarked. Stefan leapt to the tree but the witch flipped backwards into the thicket and disappeared. Stefan went further into the brush, following her scent.

Kol turned to Bonnie. "We have to get you to that cavern." Blinding pain ripped through Kol's skull. He reached up growling then fell to his knees. Bonnie's face scrunched in concern. She kneeled to help Kol. WITCH, she suddenly thought, springing to her feet, but it was too late. She was knocked unconscious and dragged away while Kol screamed into the night.

Stefan whacked at the brush with a tree branch trying to carve a path in the dense woods. The blonde witch had just vanished into thin air, but he could still smell her scent. He didn't want Prudence anywhere near Bonnie. His thoughts were interrupted by Kol's screaming. The vampire quickly spun and retreated back the way he came. He sped up the trail he had haphazardly made but was suddenly bowled over landing in a thorny bush.

He jumped to his feet, looking for his attacker. The ripper was ready for blood. "Damon?" His brother climbed to his feet. "What the hell?" Damon brushed off his jacket. "I'm trying to save you brother."

Kol screamed out again. Stefan moved towards the originals voice. "It's a trap. Silas has him." Stefan looked over his brother, his eyes narrowing. "Well then he needs my help." Stefan said moving towards the trail. "You're going to get yourself killed." Damon said grabbing his arm.

"Get your fucking hands off of me. Like you care." Damon eyes grew to saucers as he observed his brother. "Look. I know I hurt you…" Stefan turned away from the elder Salvatore. "If you have any will to survive you will stop talking right now."

Ripper. Where are you? I need you. They've taken Bonnie. Kol thoughts floated in Stefan's mind. Stefan again started for the path that led back to Kol. Damon snatched him back and threw himself on top of his brother. "It's a trap. Silas is fucking with your mind." Stefan tried to clear his head. "Get off me. They have Bonnie." Damon held Stefan down. "I can't brother. I'm trying to save your life." Stefan flipped Damon over. Punching him in the jaw. "We are hardly brothers." Damon reached up and got Stefan in a headlock.

"I won't give up on you. I'm sorry about this summer." Stefan elbowed his brother in the eye as hard as he could. The vampire cursed. Stefan got to his feet.

"You're a fucking lunatic. You take every opportunity to break my heart, but then go out of your way to save me. What is it Damon? I'm sorry father favored me. I'm sorry that in a moment of weakness I made you a vampire. Back then I thought I needed my big brother. I'm sorry I killed our father, but it was self defense. I'm sorry Katherine chose me then left your ass high and dry. You said you would make me pay. Make me suffer. Is it enough? Was Elena enough? What about staking Lexi? Do you want Silas to give you a blow by blow of the torture I endured this summer while you were fucking Elena." Stefan fought a wave of nausea thinking about the safe, but continued.

"What if I told you how much it hurt? Hmm? Would the searing pain and madness of hearing my skin being boiled be enough? Have I suffered enough, Brother? I can tell you how I'm still hurting if you would leave me the fuck alone. Can I go save my friend now or will you try to fuck Bonnie and kill Kol also." Stefan finished glaring at the elder vampire.

"Stefan come on I know your hurt but Bonnie? Kol?" Damon said grimacing. The ripper was taken aback. Damon continued despite the warning on his brother's face. "If you're trying to get back at me and Elena… I mean she's her best friend. The guy tried to kill me. Besides how is that going to work exactly? The three of you. Little brother someone's going to be the odd man out. I would hate to see you hurt again. " Stefan couldn't believe his ears.

At that moment the ripper snapped. He lunged at Damon his hands wrapping around his neck. Damon tried to remove his arms but the ripper was too strong. Stefan smirked looking at his brother. A steady diet of original blood would do that for you.

Stefan threw Damon against the giant oak. The vampire slid to the ground. Stefan picked him up and slammed him repeatedly against the tree, until the vampire sunk to the dirt near unconsciousness. Stefan spotted the branch he was using to the clear the brush, the perfect stake. He went to retrieve it. When he leaned down Damon smashed a rock over his head and took off down the path. Stefan staggered from the blow but stayed upright. After a moment, he sped off after his brother.

-o0o-

"So this is who my ancestor is afraid of? What's so special about you little girl?" Prudence purred as Bonnie slowly came to. The crown of her head hurt. The world was fuzzy until the specks of lights clouding her sight shifted into a gorgeous star filled night. She was in a clearing. Trees enclosed the space on every side. Above them an opening glowed with a warm orange light. Prudence had brought her to the mouth of the cavern. This was not good. Bonnie thought, moaning as she got to her feet.

"Prudence, you have to listen. Silas is using you. He's going to kill you." The blonde witch laughed. "You'll say and do anything to stop the resurrection of Maeve." Bonnie's senses were growing sharper by the second. Her powers were becoming attuned to her surroundings. "The spirits have been talking. Your ancestors fear your death." Bonnie tried again. Prudence huffed.

"My ancestors fear everything, even their own inherited power-my family's legacy. They cowered in hiding too afraid to anger Mother Gaia instead of rejoicing in the magic coursing through our blood. Silas is also my ancestor, the most powerful wizard of all time. He and Maeve will reign and I will serve them gladly." Bonnie reached out to the witch. "You have to listen!" Prudence hand shot out and Bonnie was thrown backwards. She landed on the ground a few feet away.

Bonnie grunted. The blow had hurt, but she had experienced worst, much worst. Climbing to her feet she regarded the older witch. "Please listen, the resurrection spell requires a sacrifice. Your sacrifice." Prudence smirked. "I can read little witch. I was studying Latin at the age of five. The exact translation requires the heart and bones of an ancestor of Maeve or the blood of the spell caster. You are a Bennett witch, correct? Qetsiyah's blood runs strong in your veins. The only sacrifice here tonight will be made by you."

The trees quivered around them. Bonnie's heart sped as she looked around. Branches began to snap off, limbs flying towards her. The witch didn't even think she just combusted into flame. Hundreds of branches were licked by the angry flames and disintegrated into ash when they reached her. A growing pile of grey dust lay at her feet.

Bonnie puckered, bringing her palm to her lips and blew. The smoldering ash sailed over to her adversary. The dust slid to the ground just before reaching Silas's ancestor. Prudence had a shield firmly in place. One hand held her barrier, the other called to storm clouds.

Darkness crept across the sky masking the moon and stars. The heavens opened up, dumping rain on the small meadow, extinguishing the ball of raging fire. A drenched Bonnie stood in its place. Prudence screamed Latin into the night. Her hand contorted trying to harness the power, grabbing at the sky. Lightening flashed above the trees. Bonnie's shield snapped into place as she watched the storm above her.

Lightening strikes from the ground up baby, Grams whispered in her spirit. A giant bolt gathered energy at Bonnie's feet. Bonnie sensed the magic, stepping back and dissolving into the earth. Prudence watched frustrated as a giant streak ripped through the air lighting up the night. Her target however was unaccounted for.

The ground began to ripple in front of Pru. Bonnie emerged from the mountain's crust and grabbed the sorceress's shoulders. Prudence struggled for a bit then opened her mouth. A swarm of bees spewed from within, surrounding the stunned Bennett witch. Bonnie spun trying to stop the attack. Prudence watched amused until wind began to churn at Bonnie's feet. Bees, ash and other debris circled the witch until Bonnie was completely swallowed by a small tornado. The force of the wind knocked Prudence back on her ass. The surrounding trees groaned as the wind began to pull at their roots. Rocks, leaves and twigs rushed to join the cyclone.

The blonde rose watching the storm carefully. Bonnie emerged suddenly from the twister leaping on the witch, her athame at Pru's throat. The funnel dissipated behind her, various bits of nature clattering to the ground. "Let's stop this. No one has to die here tonight." Prudence kneed the witch in the stomach. "Let's not."

The older witch called to the trees again the branches reached out, yanked Bonnie from the ground, and encircled her entire body. She hung suspended in the air. Prudence produced a knife of her own and flung it at Bonnie's head. The green-eyed witch shrieked, dissolving into water. The liquid cascaded down the tree trunk and pooled at the base. Bonnie's form began to rise from the puddle.

Prudence leveled another knife just as the teenager's body became corporal. Bonnie froze it and plucked it out of the air. Prudence glared at the witch. "You control time. Only the ancients can do that." Bonnie bit her lip, shrugging. "My line has bequeathed their magic to me. Which is why Silas will fail." At that moment something occurred to Bonnie. "Prudence I can not serve as Silas's sacrifice tonight." The blonde witch smirked. "And why is that?"

Silas appeared behind the witch punching a whole through her back. "Because Qetsiyah's ward is no longer pure." Prudence gasped. Anguish and shock settled over her face. Bonnie watched as the blonde's eyes filled with tears, the teenage witch's green eyes misting over in response. The vampire ripped Prudence's heart from her chest. Bonnie cried out, moving forward. Too many people had died at the hands of this maniac. Prudence's face would forever be frozen, painted with disbelief and pain.

The wizard disappeared with Prudence's heart in his hands. Her body crumpled to the ground. Bonnie walked over to the blonde witch, closed her eyes, and said a small prayer to honor her life, gifts, and her ancestors. She was only a few year older than Bonnie. "I will avenge you." Bonnie's eyes shot to the sky. The moon glowed high above the mountain. "It's coming."

She turned ready to charge the cavern and blow the evil bastard to hell, but she hit an invisible wall when she reached the tree line. "No." She whispered. She tried another direction but she was trapped. She tried to go under the barrier as earth or water but it was no use. She tried not to panic. "What do you know? Bonnie Bennett fucks up again." Bonnie whirled around at the sound of the voice. Elena stood there. Her graceful slender neck marred by werewolf bites. Yellow crawled up her neck. The venom was visibly spreading. "Can you do anything right?"

-o0o-

Kol leapt from treetop to treetop looking for any sign of the witch or the ripper. They had simply disappeared. He tried to curb the rage building inside him and concentrate. He needed to get to that cavern. He could hear fighting in the distance. A chorus of heartbeats and a bouquet of scents told him it was neither Bonnie nor Stefan. At least he knew where the others were located. He leapt again searching the ground around him. There. A flash caught his eye. He jumped from a branch and landed.

Small forest animals scurried away. The vampire had probably disturbed their sleep. Just what he needed to be following deer that he thought was one of his mates. Ripper are you there? Can you hear my thoughts? The vampire waited for a response. Stefan for fuck's sake answer me. Kol temper was flaring. If Silas's goons had any sense they would steer clear. Kol had murder on the mind. There was a rustle and Stefan stepped out of the surrounding bushes. Salvatore? Stefan's face smiled in relief. Kol smiled back at the man. Silas.

Kol launched himself at the wizard, his hands balled into a fist. Silas disappeared before him. Kol stopped abruptly spinning. The wizard laughter rang in his ears. "Show yourself," Kol demanded. Silas chuckled again. "I've come to give you a warning." Kol spun trying to find the source of the voice.

"Me and Amara have decided to use Elena's bones instead of Prudence's. She is her exact copy. We would have taken her heart too but she's a vampire. We needed one that was in working order." Kol leaned against a nearby tree, "Splendid…I don't give a fuck about Elena Gilbert." Silas chuckled again. "Oh but you should. She has a certain power over your girlfriend and boyfriend. They seem to love to sacrifice themselves for her. Do me a favor and kill Elena now, and I won't have to injure your love ones." Kol laughed this time.

"This is your thing. These pathetic little mind games. I won't lie and say I wouldn't mind killing the Gilbert brat but the truth is I'm not willing to do anything that will further your cause." Silas again stepped in front of the vampire.

"You will have to chose Kol, the doppelganger or your beloved. We both know that is no choice at all. Bonnie Bennett's Achilles heel is her blind loyalty. She will never let any of you perish while she is present. I will kill her if she gets in my way and then Elena. Why don't you be a good boy and do the job for me?" Kol growled, running towards the ancient vampire. He once again stared at empty space.

"I'm going to kill you." Kol said between clenched teeth. Silas snickered. "You don't have the power to kill me. And the Bennett witch doesn't have the skill. You could serve me you know. You've never been opposed to power and glory, the spoils of war." Kol sighed. "You're wasting your breath and at the night's end I will smile knowing we have sent you to meet your maker."

"I'm quaking. I'm quite aware of your plans. I am even in possession of your thoughts. Go on ask me. Ask me how I knew you were coming…" Kol stood, wearing a bored expression. "Your companion. When the witch bound me to my shadow she unknowingly connected me to you all. Stefan's thoughts…all of them…are at my disposal. Why don't you do what I asked and I won't decapitate you." Kol chuckled.

"Hmm..I call bullshit. You've given yourself away, mate. You're not even here. In fact you've been wasting my time." Silas's snickers tumbled through the air.

"You're a clever fellow, but not clever enough. I may not be there but a very confused ripper is. Let's see if his training you so lovingly taught him paid off. I wouldn't mention Elena, Emily, Katherine, Amelia or Alexia if I were you. He's out for blood." Kol turned, and found himself face to face with a very angry ripper. "I'm going to kill you Damon." Kol sighed. Silas was a bastard.

-o0o-

"Elena," Bonnie said stunned. "You got us all up on this mountain to fail again. You're pretty useless." Bonnie stared at the teenage girl. Had she flipped her switch again? "Where are the others? The brunette looked out at the forest and shook her head, tears forming in her eyes. "You have the power of your entire line and you couldn't stop him and now…" Elena stifled a sob. "What good are you if the magic can't save us."

The guilt churned inside the witch. "I tried…I thought this time…" Bonnie said hanging her head. 'What good are you if the magic can't save us?' rang in her head. So I'm no good without my magic, if I can't save them some how? I'm not even a person just some magical tool? A wave of anger washed over her. Bonnie looked up but the girl was gone. She looked around. "Elena?" Bonnie shook her head with realization. Silas.

"Very good love. You had me worried for a minute there." Bonnie turned to find Kol leaning against a tree. "What happened? Where's Stefan?" Kol frowned. "He's with Damon and Elena. The perpetual damsel in distress almost got herself decapitated, and he stayed behind to calm her down." Bonnie's heart dropped in the pit of her stomach. Kol's tale settled in her mind. Something wasn't right.

"The ripper can hardly control his urge to kill Damon right now. There is no way he stayed with him." Bonnie said eyeing the original. Kol sneered, "You know Salvatore. One minute he's proclaiming his independence the next he's groveling for a bit of her attention. We should have known better to trust him. Don't blame yourself, Kitten. We all know you're a little gullible when it comes to love." Bonnie smiled.

"What is this some kind of spell that preys on people's insecurities? You're not Kol Mikealson. I'm giving you a fair warning, Silas. Get out of my head." Bonnie watched as Kol's brown eyes bled into green ones. His sloppy locks swayed into a perfectly sculpted coif.

"Come on Bonnie. These people are beneath you, and yet you let them treat you as a servant. They are all here for their own selfish desires. Leave them. Join me, and no one will ever deem to belittle or use you again." Silas said encircling the witch.

"Is that before or after you steal my powers or Maeve kills me to get them." Bonnie said watching the warlock. Silas sighed. "You rather align your self with this…" Silas shape began to morph again. When he was done Caroline stood in front of her.

"I love you Bonnie. I do but…Tyler, Matt, Klaus, Stefan, Elena, and this random dude I just met are all more important than you. I really don't have time to deal with your personal trauma when I need to pick out a prom dress." Bonnie tensed as her private thoughts were brought to life.

"Caroline helped my mother through transition. Caroline wiped away my tears when Jeremy and me broke up. She killed twelve witches to save me. Caroline has always been there for me. She fed and took care of me while I was in the cabin." The blonde giggled. "Yeah well, Tyler was out of town a lot so…I had some time." Bonnie shook her head and turned away.

"What's the matter Bonnie?" The witch spun again staring into Jeremy's eyes. "You shouldn't feel bad because you're so loyal. I think it's a good quality. I mean sure there was that thing with Anna, but you were so forgiving. I mean I didn't actually need to come back to life, but there you were willing to sacrifice yourself, like always. I love that you love me so much and I think…no I know I love you too. I do. I mean, you risked so much to bring me back. Only a dick would dump you after you killed yourself." Bonnie watched as a confused Jeremy tried to explain himself. It was a familiar script, one that had lived in the back of her head. Tears trickled down her face.

"I'm a good person. I wouldn't do that, but…I would be lying if I said I didn't wonder if it's more guilt than love, but then your there, being great and loyal and I know I would be a fool to let you go." Bonnie closed her eyes, trying to control her emotions. She whispered through the pain, "You're cruel." On the contrary love, I'm your friend. The only one who knows and tells you the truth, Silas dropped into her thoughts. You know I'm right. You know what they all think.

"You're completely expendable." Damon sneered with his blue orbs. "Your whole ancestral line really, just a means to an end." Damon faded into the shadows. She jumped when Kol purred in her ears. "He's quite right you know. I knew if I hung around you long enough I could dig my way out of your ancestor's limbo. I just bided my time. Now you have freed me. I can kill the Gilberts and go back to my wonderfully violent lifestyle. I'm free and it's all thanks to you. Like I said before, Kitten…gullible." Bonnie shook her head meagerly trying to dispute the visions before her.

"Gullible is a strong word." Stefan appeared his hand in his pockets. "You just try to see the best in people. I think your really sweet Bonnie, and a good friend. You nursed me back to some semblance of sanity. You helped me realize where I went wrong with Elena, and now I can fix it." Bonnie stared at the apparition. "You're a great friend, and hopefully one day you will find a love like me and Elena's…an epic love."

"Bonnie you don't have to listen to this." Her father called from across the meadow. "You can break free from all of these people and get a career you love. There's nothing I mean nothing like being successful. I do love you too bunny, of course, but there's so much satisfaction in a job well done. " Bonnie closed her eyes, trying to block Silas. They popped back open as soon as she heard her voice.

"Sometimes Bonnie you have to do things for yourself. You can't waste you life away helping people, being a slave to magic." Abbie said barely visible by moonlight. "That life wasn't for me. And I know I abandoned you and your father, but I needed to do that for myself. You understand don't you? To be who I was supposed to be. Maybe…you don't understand now. But the most important person you have to care for and love is yourself, forget everything else." Abbie said melting into nothingness.

How touching. No wonder you're a mess. Poor Bonnie Bennett the girl who loves too much, hoping someone will love you back. Isn't that so Daughter of Abigail? Bonnie was trembling.

How is Abby, Bonnie? Is she handling being a vampire well? Honestly, I would have disappeared on you too after you pulled her out of hiding to let Damon turn her. He's a clever one that Damon. Lover boy Stefan was just going to kill you.

At least Abbie has a little sense of self-preservation. She knows when she's out of her depth. You on the other hand…Hey remember that time you got your Gram's killed, then a year later her soul cursed. Bonnie's mind flashed to the memory of her grams being consumed by dark spirits. The wave of guilt almost took her breath.

Didn't Caroline become a vampire because of you too? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that the same night Tyler's father was killed? Bonnie grabbed her head trying to force out his voice, but he just mirrored what was already there stored in the deepest parts of her.

Bonnie these people could care less about you and they're out here on a fool's mission because I broke your predecessor's heart. Are you sure your ready for me Bonnie? Has Qetsiyah taught you everything you need to know? This isn't the first time you have had all this power and looked how that turned out. Klaus has taken over New Orleans. Jeremy just keeps getting killed. Who else will be lost because of your failings and pathetic need for approval?

Bonnie stood there emotionally wrecked and numb. Her cheeks streaked with tears. Silas had skipped through her head and displayed all her fears and insecurities. Put them right in front of her and made her face them. She was drowning in her own doubt and self-depreciation. A black shadow crept across the moon. The wizard smiled as he watched the sky from above her. Silas chuckled. Who needed armies when you could force your enemies to defeat themselves? He had a reunion to get to.

Silas placed Prudence's heart on the altar, praying over it and preparing it for the summoning. He chanted until the runes around the room began to glow a bit brighter. He had his heart, his runes, the necklace and his witches.

Magical energy rushed over him. "It's starting." One of the witches said standing. Silas's remaining servants moved into place around the pentagram, standing on ancient runes. They locked hands and began to chant.

The Time had come. All he needed was… "Silas, mate, what have you got up to?" The wizard smiled. Right on time. He turned. His eyes glanced over the bruised and battered group, landing on one brunette organ donor. Silas chuckled.

"How lovely to see you again Niklaus. I'm surprised you have the guts to face me again. How is your back? Anymore sharp pains?" Klaus moved to attack the wizard but bounced off a ward. "How did you not see that coming?"

The others tried to move but found they were all separated from Silas and his witches by an invisible barrier. Elena went to walk over to Jeremy but she couldn't move more than a few feet in any direction from the spot she was standing in. She was separated from the others. "Hey" she pounded against the field. "Oh yes. I have special plans for you my darling. How nice of the mutt to deliver you to me," Silas said lighting the end of a bundle of dried herbs. Elena looked to Damon scared.

"Silas I'm going to…" Damon started. Silas turned to the raven-haired vampire. "Your going to do what exactly? Watch your ladylove die in the most excruciating way possible. Yes you are." Damon eyes expanded. Silas turned to Elena, who had begun to cry. "Sorry my dear. It's the cost of the spell. Sacrifice is a bitch." Silas waved the smoking bundle over the platform from which he was working.

"What is it you want wizard?" Silas removed the heart from the altar and walked over and placed it in the center of the pentagram. The candles flickered in the cavern. The runes grew brighter until a surge of blue light rush out of the cavern. "You have nothing I want mutt. Unless… Well…I should at least offer." Silas turned to Klaus with a bemused expression stretch across his face. "Serve me or die"

"I do not bow to anyone." Klaus spat as black veins spread across his cheeks. "There's the answer I was hoping for." Silas opened his palm and twisted his wrist. "Then you all can die." Klaus screamed out in pain. He dropped to the ground on all fours. His back rippled then bulged. His spine ripped his shirt into shreds. Caroline ran over to him. "What did you do to him?"

Silas snickered sprinkling powder around the heart. "He's transitioning. His body thinks it's the first time." Caroline looked at Klaus horrified. "The first time," she said remembering Tyler's first transition. Elijah crouched near his brother.

"It's no use Mikealson. He won't recognize you, any of you. The wolf has control the first few transitions. He's going to rip you to shreds. Then I'm going to put him down." Klaus hollered, covered in sweat. His fangs punched threw his gums. His jaw elongated. Fur sprang up on his arms and his now bare legs. He was no longer human, but not yet beast.

"Have you ever been torn apart Elijah? Can you come back from that, original? How does it work if your spleen is dissolving in your brother's stomach?" Everyone watched Klaus horrified. He screamed as his bones broke and rearranged themselves.

Damon looked around. "Where the fuck is Bonnie?" Silas chuckled. "Bonnie…oh she's having an identity crisis right now. I wouldn't count on the witch to save you, and Stefan and…is it Kol? Well they're having a lover's quarrel. They're a bit preoccupied." Caroline pounded against the barrier. Jeremy tried the entrance but found it was blocked as well. Elena sunk to the ground. She was so tired of being in this situation.

Silas took Amara Maeve's necklace from around his neck. Holding it up to the ceiling, and barked Latin to the sky, "magicae meo." The witches' chanting choked off as each of the mage's eyes rolled in the back of their heads, and then they toppled over like dominoes.

Orange balls of light rose from the slain witches' chests then rushed towards Silas. They circled him then dropped to the center of the pentagram forming a circle around the sacrificed heart. The heart rose absorbing the energy as Silas stepped back away from the center of the circle. A figure began to appear in the pentagram. Everyone watched the wisp of a woman slowly materialize. Silas reached out to touch her gently. The collective awe was broken when Klaus's howl ripped into the night.

"Stefan, listen to me carefully mate. It's me, Kol. Snap out of it. Silas is making you nut up."The ripper smiled. He tore a branch off a nearby tree, stripping it of its leaves. When he was done he stepped towards the original.

"Oh, so now you're Kol, and Damon is an illusion. A minute ago you were Damon and Kol was an illusion. Which one is it? You know what I think brother…I think you just don't want to die." Stefan said catapulted himself at the original, gripping the branch like a spear. Just before impact, Kol dashed to the left, grabbing Stefan's shirt and slinging him into a nearby tree. The ripper bounced off the trunk but stayed on his feet. Kol didn't want to hurt him, but he might have to.

The ripper turned, grinning, twirling the limb in his hands. Blood oozed from his nose. Stefan, Listen to my voice. We are wasting precious time. We need to find Bonnie.

Stefan looked around. Someone was whispering. He could barely make out what was being said. He shook his head trying to clear his mind. He looked at his brother, and hurled the branch at Kol's heart. Kol blocked it, but then the young Salvatore was in his face, and a fist was smashing into his jaw.

Kol turned, using his shoulder to smash into Stefan's chest. Stefan stumbled. Kol blurred to him, lifting him in the air and body slamming him to the ground. The elder vampire loomed over Stefan. Kol spat blood from his mouth. "Salvatore please! We don't have time for this. We have to go save Bonnie. I…I need you." Kol said on the verge of desperation.

Stefan shook his head confused. Damon was standing over him, but his mind flashed to Kol snatching his diary and making fun of him a few months back. Stefan kicked Damon in the stomach, knocking Kol backwards. He jumped to his feet, trying to puncture his chest, and snatch out his heart. Kol caught his hand before it entered his body and jerked Stefan's arm out of the socket. The Ripper yelled. Kol pushed him away.

"Damn it Salvatore. I never thought I would say this but I need Stefan not the Ripper… listen to your bloody heart." Oh my God. I sound like a fucking romance novel. I'm going to kill Silas, Kol thought. "Its me Kol, your mate. I need your help to go find Bonnie. You remember Bonnie. The girl the ripper had a crush on while you were holding my family hostage. Did you ever tell Damon that? It's me Kol. Your… blood sharing buddy."

"How…how did you know that?" Stefan shook his head again, his eyes narrowing at Kol. "No… it's a trick. It's you isn't it?" Kol smiled relief flooding though him.

"I'm going to kill you, you bastard. Stop playing with my head." Stefan charged Kol again. He sped over the ground towards Silas masquerading as his brother. But as he moved Damon's blue eyes turned brown. A memory surged in his mind breaking through the fog. 'Because you're my mate, and because I see you. I am one of the four people on this earth that does. I like you for who you are. The blood loving ripper, not this person you pretend to be. Tell me you liked it.' Kol? Stefan head was muddled. Stefan tried to stop but momentum pushed him forward.

Kol sighed. He had already wasted too much time with the Ripper. He would have to go on without him. When Stefan was near enough he dashed over and snapped his neck. He caught the man before he fell and carried him into the bushes so he would not be easily detected. He gently laid him to the ground. Stefan had the oddest expression on his face, a mix of bewilderment and the beginnings of a smile. "Sorry Ripper." He said gathering dead leaves under the vampire's head. "I have to go help our girl. Sleep well." Kol turned and sped off into the night.

Bonnie stood in the clearing trying to pull herself back together. She knew that she had a job to do but the words gullible, useless, and expendable rang in her head. The night she lost Grams was also replaying in her mind. Despite her efforts to sober, a tear rolled down her cheek.

"It's not true. They're my friends and family. It's not true." Bonnie said to herself.

Jeremy's face flashed in her mind. "Willing to sacrifice yourself like always," He whispered. "Hoping someone will love you back," Silas had cooed. A picture of Caroline lying in the hospital bed bubbled from her subconscious.

This isn't true. This isn't what they think of me. Is it? Tears once again leaked from her eyes, until a small but strong voice fought to the forefront of her mind. Bonnie this is another one of Silas's games. Yes, but it's also me. He is using my thoughts against me, Bonnie thought wrestling with herself. There must be some truth in it all.

You have a job to do. Her subconscious rallied again. To what…once again save the people who don't care about me? Bonnie was surprised at how selfish and harsh she sounded, and that she didn't necessarily think it was a bad thing. You've allowed them to treat you this way, If you don't like it change it, but in the end they are not what's important right now. What do you think of yourself? Bonnie blinked, her tears slowing. Who are you?

"I'm a girl, a woman," Bonnie answered herself aloud. "A woman who just wants to enjoy life, enjoy being young. To go to school, study cultural anthropology, maybe tryout for the cheer squad, party and share my time with people who I care about and who care about me. A carefree simple life." Yeah. That's what I want. That feels so right it almost hurts. You know why it hurts, because that's not the complete picture, the honest picture. Bonnie sighed.

"I'm also a witch. A Bennett witch. And for the first time in my life I truly know what that means. I finally understand." What does it mean? "Legacy. I'm a servant of nature, a protector of innocents. Even when it isn't the popular choice and my friends call me lame." Bonnie said thinking about all the times her and Damon locked horns. Remembering what she was fighting for when she didn't disarm that stupid compass.

"It also means Resilience. My family has endured despite the heartbreak and the mistakes we have made." Bonnie continued as Jeremy and Silas appeared in her thoughts, a very powerful Silas. Her mind countered with a flash of Qetsiyah and the other three Bennett woman doing magic, awe-inspiring magic.

"Unbelievable Talent. The magic pumping through my blood is responsible for hybrids, vampires, and werewolves. Qetsiyah built a supernatural limbo, Ayanna, through proxy, made the originals, Emily entombed twenty-seven vampires, and my own mother put a badass vampire hunter down for decades." She lost everything doing that. I don't want to be like my mother. Bonnie thought as her heart panged. So don't be. You have a choice.

It means responsibility. "A Bennett means balancing nature, fixing our mistakes… and that means Silas." Bonnie looked at the moon being consumed by darkness. She really wanted that carefree life. Maybe she did understand her mother a bit more, but it wasn't in her to walk away from a fight.

It doesn't matter what the others think of me. I know who I am and what I have to do. I've always known. I just forgot myself for a little while. I'm Bonnie Sheila Bennett, future cultural anthropologist, part-time party girl, and a servant of nature. Fuck Silas. This pity party is over.

Bonnie turned towards the cavern, walking to the tree line. Silas's ward still surrounded her. She could feel the energy rolling off of it. Bonnie called to the magic in her blood. The force surged out of her and surrounded her. She looked at Silas's spell through her own magic. The ward was strong but hastily made and sloppy. She found a weak point and focused her magic there. She prayed to Mother Gaia, and watched as the field crumbled in front of her. Blue Light poured out of the cavern above her. She hoped she wasn't too late.

Tyler and Matt were rolling in laughter, telling Rebekah about the time they glued everything on their coach's desk down, and how he sat there for almost an hour trying to pick stuff up, turning redder and redder. "I thought he was going to have a heart attack," Matt said holding his stomach. Rebekah laughed wishing she had more time at high school.

"Did you guys hide out in a closet or something?" Rebekah asked curious about the coach's reaction. Tyler snickered. "Oh that's the best part. Your boy, Matt the Angel, bribed some geek to record it live and send the feed to the whole school. How did you get Rucker to do that again?" Tyler inquired remembering the kid was kind of an asswhole and certainly wasn't a wimp. Matt blushed.

"He had a thing for me. I gave him a couple of my football poses, and some pics of me at the beach. He really liked the one with me and you on the boardwalk."

Rebekah snorted looking at the Hybrid's face. Tyler shook his head. "It's always the quiet ones." Matt threw another stick at his friend. "You know what…now I remember him always staring at me. I bet I could have got all kinds of shit done for…" A howl sounded from the cavern above. "That's Klaus." Tyler said standing. "Something's off. That was pure wolf." He turned to his friends. "We're fine. Go." Matt said. Tyler disappeared.

Klaus had transformed into a huge auburn wolf. His lips were curled over his fangs. He snarled, slinging dribble to the ground. Everyone moved slowly away from the werewolf, testing the boundary of the invisible cell. Caroline was so focused on Klaus's teeth she tripped over a rock and fell forward. The monster lunged for her. Elijah reached the blonde just in time. Klaus jumped on his brother instead of the young vampire. Elijah and Klaus tussled while Caroline, Damon and Jeremy tried to move as faraway as possible.

Elijah fought hard but his brother was too quick and strong. The wolf clamped on his neck releasing venom into the original. Elijah slipped into unconsciousness while the wolf shredded his face and throat. It was all Caroline could do not to vomit.

The wolf turned. He smelled her fear. He growled from his place showing his teeth to the blonde vampire until Jeremy shot him in the leg with his bow. The wound pissed Klaus off more than it hurt him. "Jeremy, No." Elena yelled from across the cavern. Damon dashed over to Jeremy but he was too late. Klaus bounded over Elijah's body and bit into the hunter's side. Jeremy screeched trying to whack the animal with his bow.

Tyler reached the cave entrance quickly using his wolf form. He sniffed the air, smelling vampire blood mixed with werewolf venom. The blood was different, aged. It was if the vampire had no more humanity-an original. Klaus had gone rogue. Tyler sniffed again. He smelled Caroline's fear. He rushed towards the entrance but was halted by magic.

He stuck his muzzle against the field, sniffing. The energy zapped him, singeing his fur. He stopped and listened. He could hear Jeremy's screaming. Human blood wafted through the air. He backed up then ran at full speed trying to ram the barrier. No luck. He backed up and did it again. The wolf inside him would not abate. His mate was in trouble. My Mate? He thought hammering the field again. It didn't matter. Caroline was in trouble and nothing would stand in his way.

Damon tackled Klaus, knocking him off the boy. The vampire jumped up swiftly as the wolf got his feet. Klaus snarled at Damon ready to attack until Caroline threw her shoe at the beast. Klaus turned heading for the debutant, but stopped when a gigantic gray wolf landed in front of her. His fur was smoking and charred in places. "Tyler, no," she said concerned for her boyfriend. She didn't want him to end up looking like Elijah. The wolves circled each other growling.

Klaus pounced, his massive teeth sinking into Tyler's leg. The grey werewolf turned quickly taking his own bite from the auburn wolf's leg. Klaus yelped. He quickly recovered, snapping at Tyler neck. The younger hybrid managed to avoid Klaus's jaws and ripped a piece of Klaus's ear off. The beast was enraged. He attacked Tyler aggressively. His opponent moved trying to dodge any real damage but Klaus was totally lost to his animal nature. Tyler's very human thought pattern had saved him until now. Now Klaus was moving with pure power and instinct. If Tyler didn't put him down no one would be able to.

Bonnie ran up to the cave out of breath. Her mind's eye was open, her magic surrounding her. The entrance was warded, but wait, there was a giant animal shaped whole in the middle. She eased into the cave quietly. Silas was near the back with…Bonnie gasped, Amara Maeve. Bonnie could see her clearly she was spitting image of Elena except green eyes. The witch smiled. "Qetsiyah's brat," the enchantress mouthed but Bonnie did not hear a thing. Her sight shifted and she could see that Amara was but a spirit. So she wasn't here yet. She was not too late.

She surveyed her friends. Caroline looked fine. Damon was no worse for wear. Jeremy had been bitten, and was unconscious. Elena was trapped in a ward alone. Weird. She stared at the wolves that were at each other's throat, and then at…was that hunk of meat Elijah? Bonnie whispered in Latin and both wolves fell over locked in spelled sleep. Everyone turned to the witch. "Bonnie? BONNIE!" Caroline screamed happy. The witch watched the group breathe a sigh of relief. But where were Kol and Stefan?

Elena screamed. She held her arm looking at it like it was an alien. Damon flashed over and was pounding on the force field trying to get to her. Bonnie moved over to her friend, but Silas had a strong and complicated fire ward surrounding the girl. The brunette almost passed out when a bone ripped through her flesh then soared to the center of the pentagram where it connected with Maeve's ghost. The bone snapped in place and the sorceress's arm became slightly more visible in the cavern. "Fuck." Bonnie sighed. The wizard was going to sacrifice her as well.

Just as Elena was about to pass into unconsciousness a bone trying to separate itself from her leg jarred her awake. The agony was unbearable. Tears streaked down her cheeks. Bonnie's heart seized. With brute power she attacked the fire ward with water magic. The barrier didn't budge until Bonnie sent a second stream of earth. She then turned her talents on the ward separating Silas from the rest of them. The ward began to unravel but Silas continued his attack. Bones ripped from the vampire at an alarming rate, Elena's blood staining the floor.

Inside the pentagram Amara's features were slowly solidifying. The sorceress smirked ready to reenter the world. A bone was trying to detach itself from the brunette's palm. The vampire couldn't scream any longer. Her voice was raw. Her face twisted in misery. The witch had to intercede.

Bonnie quickly pushed a burst of energy at the wizard. The blast caught him off guard. His sole concern was completing the spell. Silas flew into his altar. His head bounced off some rocks and he was rendered unconscious, but his magic was still at work.

Bonnie drained the water from the air with her power and wove the molecules together then flung a shield in front of the vampire. Silas's spell strained against the barrier to secure another bone for its master. Another piece of Elena sailed over to pentagram. Bonnie needed more power and fast. Silas eyes shot open as he struggled to recover from Bonnie's sucker punch.

The flame from a nearby candle danced over to the green-eyed witch's palm. She stretched and bent it then threw that at her ward as well. She watched as the two elements melted into each other and the ward wall thickened. Elena still held her body in an awkward position. The dark magic was still tugging on her bones. Bonnie called to the wind. A breeze swept through the cabin picking up dust and earth. The dust in the air stuck to her ward like it was a giant magnet, adding another layer. Bonnie fortified the field with breath to be sure the shield was nearly impenetrable.

The final result was multilayered and combined all four elements. Silas would have to stop and concentrate to break it. Elena collapsed in relief. The resurrection spell's magic was no longer pulling on her. She laid on the ground her body broken.

"I warned him didn't I?" Silas said getting to his feet. He blasted Bonnie's shield with power. The field bent but held. Bonnie countered by using her magic to secure it. Silas hammered the shield again. Bonnie pushed back. Silas threw another spell at the shield. Bonnie prepared for the jolt of magic.

She was not prepared for the vine that flew at her and wound around neck. Silas attacked her ward again. Caroline ran over to the witch trying to get the plant off her, but Silas's magic lifted the blonde in the air knocking her into a nearby wall. Damon raced to Bonnie's side with a knife. Silas overpowered his arm and Damon impaled himself on the blade.

Bonnie started to see black spots as the vine constricted her airways. One of Bonnie's arm clutched at her neck the other held the shield in place. Bonnie concentrated trying to hold the protection spell and conjure fire. Finally the vine recoiled as fire danced on her fingertips. The plant fell from her neck and was torched. Her lungs happily filled with air and contracted. Silas continued his assault against her ward. She flung another spell at him but the wizard blocked it easily. A minute later a sturdier ward separating him from the others sprang up.

The mountain began to rumble. The ceiling above Bonnie gave. Several boulders and rock fragments rained downed on the witch and her friends. Bonnie had seconds to throw up a dome protecting the group and still hold the ward steady while Silas attacked.

"Tsk. tsk. tsk. I asked if you were ready to play in the big leagues. I will say I'm impressed this ward is a masterpiece and you whipped it up in what two minutes." Silas said throwing another ball of energy at the field. "You put a lot of magic into it. Matter of fact you've been throwing a lot of magic around little witch. How long before your body gives out?"

"We could ask you the same thing, mate." Kol said ducking into the cavern. Bonnie almost cried out at the sound of his voice. The original took in his surroundings. Bonnie was trembling under the weight of a collapse, and god knows what else. He edged over to the witch. "You've been doing a whole lot of magic my friend. Fucking with people's heads." Bonnie turned towards Kol. Did he know about the clearing? "Growing weary Silas? Hmm? Trying to put it off on my kitten. I bet that's why you're back to your clever little speeches and mind games."

"Kol, I need you to get everyone out of here." Bonnie said eyeing the original desperately. "What did I tell you friend?" Silas said smiling at the original. "It's her Achilles heel. You can save her now. Kill the girl." Bonnie looked at Kol surprised. "What's he talking about?" Kol shook his head. He saw Elena on the ground covered in blood.

"It's like a disease for her. You know you want to original. Yes…you can have your revenge." Fear danced in Bonnie's belly. Her nightmare was not coming true. She believed in him, trusted him. "Kol. You have to get them out." Kol looked at his witch. "And then what? You stay here and be clobbered by boulders. You never know when to stop. When to get out and save yourself." Bonnie threw him an exasperated look.

"No. Then I finish what we started." Kol walked towards Elena, he hit what felt like a brick wall. A ward, a powerful one, surrounded the girl. No doubt Bonnie's work. She was really in trouble. How long could she hold up both, especially with Silas attacking it every second? "KOL!" Bonnie yelled trying to spur him into action. He turned back to the witch surveying her for any signs of fatigue. "How? You're holding two wards up, fucking powerful wards." Bonnie shook her head and sighed. "You have to trust me." Her voiced steeled. "You're supposed to trust me."

"But how can he little witch with your track record. Kol because I care I got started on the Gilbert boy for you as well. All you have to do is finish him off. You could kill them both and take Bonnie to safety." Silas said, his voice ushering Damon into consciousness. "Shut up! Kol get them out of here!" Bonnie pleaded. Kol moved towards the brunette again. Tears formed in Bonnie's eyes.

"No" Damon said tackling Kol. Silas chuckled on the other side of the cavern and threw a ball of magic at the ward protecting Elena. Kol threw the vampire off of him. Damon slid across the cave floor until he was near Jeremy and his bow. He picked up the weapon and took aim. A bolt went threw the original's shoulder. Damon flashed over and grabbed it twisting the original around by his wound. Kol repeatedly pummeled the blue-eyed vampire trying to get him to let go.

The weight of both spells and the boulders was beginning to really wear on Bonnie. "Kol, Damon stop it. We need to stop Silas." Silas laughed as the first layer of Bonnie's shield began to deteriorate.

Damon yanked on the bolt in Kol's shoulder. "Tell your boyfriend to stop trying to kill my girlfriend." Kol swung at Damon repeatedly. "Your girlfriend is a plague."

Stefan stumbled in the cavern. He eyed Damon and Kol attacking each other. Bonnie held her arms up to the sky as boulders hovered over everyone. Elena lay on the ground drenched in her own blood. Jeremy was unconscious and covered in his blood. Caroline was splayed on the floor, her neck at an impossible angle. Wolves he could only assume were Klaus and Tyler lay unconscious on the ground both with injuries of their own. Elijah was a pile of meat. Silas was kicking their ass.

He sped over to Damon and quickly snapped his neck. "Noooo." Bonnie cried. "Stefan you have to stop Kol." What is she talking about? Kol ripped the bolt out of his shoulder throwing it away. The witch is hellbent on saving Elena Gilbert again. Her power is waning.

"He's trying to kill Elena." Bonnie bellowed. "I'm trying to save your life." Kol spat at her desperately. Stefan was torn he didn't know what to do or who to believe. "Stefan please! You have to get everyone out of here." The minute you do she'll drop the ward holding the boulders and be smashed to smithereens. I won't let her do it. Not on my watch. Stefan looked at the tears in Bonnie's eyes. Her arms were trembling. How will killing Elena help?

"Kol my friend, if you're looking for a comrade in Stefan. You're sorely mistaken. Not when it comes to the Petrova doppelganger." Silas said trying to free Elena. Stefan had just noticed Silas at the back of the cave with a woman who could be Elena's twin except for the eyes. Bonnie is using most of her energy protecting the brunette. Both men turned when their heard Bonnie's sob.

"Stefan trust me. It's obviously something Kol is incapable of. Get everyone out of the cave." Stefan looked at Kol. "We have to trust her." Something clicked in Stefan's mind. She knows how much you love her, we love her. She's not going anywhere. You won't have to massacre villages this time. You know she's more than capable of taking Silas out. Trust her enough to do it. Kol stared at Elena's body. If she cost Bonnie her life… Kol thought angrily. Then that would be Bonnie's choice. We can help her by doing what she says.

Kol turned looking at the witch peering into her eyes. "I'm trusting you," Kol said emotion playing over his face. Bonnie nodded. He turned and grabbed Klaus and sped out of the entrance. Stefan winked at Bonnie then grabbed Damon. They had everyone out in a matter of seconds. Only Elena remained behind Bonnie's withering spell.

As Kol predicated, Bonnie dropped the dome ward and boulders crashed to the ground. It took all of Stefan's might from stopping Kol from reentering the cave. "Trust her." Kol stopped fighting, listening for her heartbeat. "If she's dead I will kill everyone on his mountain." Kol said staring into Stefan's eyes. I believe you.

Silas peered through the rock and dust cloud on the front part of the room. He could see nothing, but wait. The doppelganger lay unconscious in the open. He whispered latin and delighted when another piece of bone found its way to the half finished skeleton. Amara stared back at him, a devious smile on her lips. She was here. They would finally be together.

A wind swept through the cave circling the pentagram. Silas covered his eyes as debris flew into the air. The Bennett witch materialized with an athame in her hands behind his beloved. Silas watched in horror as she stuck the blade into the heart whispering a spell. "NOOOO!" Silas yelled.

Amara's spirit was sucked into the necklace that hung at her throat. It was a piece of twine with an ugly stained rock on it. Silas looked closer at the vessel it was a severed piece of Qetsiyah's gravestone. The heart fell to the floor releasing orange orbs into the air. They drifted around then flew out of the cave and into the night sky. The released bones soared back over to the Gilbert girl. The girl's body jerked as the pieces reinserted themselves. Silas grabbed his hair. He was finding it difficult to process that the inept witch had stolen his victory. He glared at his enemy. She watched him plotting her next move.

Silas threw a curse at the witch. Bonnie tried to throw up a protection spell but Silas was too fast. Her eyesight went black. The force field snapped in place around her. The witch tried to stay calm. Bonnie jumped when she felt heat on her left side. Fire was licking at her shield. It's all in my head. His greatest power is mind magic. Bonnie thought trying to return her eyesight.

Bonnie stumbled forward as she felt a push from her back. Silas was pelting her with stalagmites. Bonnie concentrated on her eyes and slowly her vision began to clear. She looked around the cave. She was alone, except for Elena's torn body. Fuck. He had escaped again. How would she explain this to Qetsiyah.

After several moments of waiting and watching, Bonnie dropped her shield cautiously and went to check on Elena. Her bones had reset themselves, and her wounds were trying to close. Bonnie looked for the easiest way to the entrance. When she felt an arm snake around her throat.

Silas had her in a vice grip. Her feet dangled off the floor. Bonnie struggled causing the wizard to stumble backwards a little. Where was one of Qetsiyah's curses when you need one? Bonnie smiled at her own genius.

There was a hissing sound and the cave floor at Silas's feet transformed into molten rock, ensnaring the wizard and crawling up his legs. Silas dropped the witch trying to stop the curse. Bonnie moved quickly she sliced his throat smearing his blood on another piece of Qetsiyah's gravestone. The liquid was consuming Silas. The substance had snaked its way up his body to his arms and imprisoned them. Silas struggled to break free. Bonnie hung the gravestone around his neck. She chanted in Latin. "Et in hora mortis exspectant ire."

Silas was divided in trying to fight the curse and the witch trying to send her to purgatory. He was immortal. He would not be stopped. She did not have the skill to vanquish him. "You can't do this to me. Do you know who I am? What I am? You're not strong enough. You can't…" Bonnie watched as the seam between worlds ripped and a light grew behind the wizard. She chanted faster. The light grew then swallowed him whole. The portal to the other side collapsed upon itself.

Silas turned. He was alone in the cave. Everything looked exactly the same except the witch wasn't here. He turned again when he heard footsteps. Silas sighed. He turned and found himself face to face with the bane of existence, Qetsiyah in all of her glory. Behind her stood the spirits of hundreds of pissed off witches. Prudence his latest victim was among them. Qetsiyah smiled. "Welcome to your eternity serpent."
