Skipping

Far in the corner, he kept to himself. He had his arm propped up on his desk, his head rested on the topside of his hand. Why was it again that he took this stupid class? Watching ahead, he staring at a certain red headed teen. That was right, he didn't know how he could forget. Lowering his arm, he crossed both of them and leaned back. Could the nerd feel his gaze? By the way he was staring, he was surprised the other didn't catch on fire. The ginger was currently tinkering with a small machine he had created. It's what he had done every day in this class. Pressing his lips together, he didn't understand why he wanted to sit up in the front of the class. What was wrong with sitting in the back? Another answer he knew. He watched as a blond female walked over to the dork. Edd frowned, the girl was constantly at his side. What was her name? Nazz? The red head laughed at something she said, his brows furrowed.

He felt jealous, to make matters worse, he felt that way nearly all the time. He drummed his fingers on the desk in hopes it would relieve some sort of tension. Why was he like this? This wasn't helping at all. Sighing through his nose, he leaned over to grab his back pack. Digging through it, he pulled out his notebook. Slapping it down, he snatched a pencil out as well before dropping the bag back down at his side. Opening roughly, he felt eyes on him. Turning next to him, he noticed some chick looking his way. He had no idea who she was, he didn't care. When she looked away just as quick, he returned his gaze back to his notebook. Opening it up, he began writing. He wrote down his feelings, that was what he was told to do in these situations.

People didn't exactly like him, he didn't really blame them either. He was an asshole, that was all there was to it. He didn't like people and he didn't even try to hold back when people tried to like him. The only person he actually felt something for was currently smiling at a cute girl. He broke his lead twice as he wrote down what was wracking his brain. This wasn't helping, he was just tearing paper at this point.

Breathe Eddward.

He glanced up, looking at the gingers back as if hearing his voice in his head. Imagine being angry at everything for your entire life. Now imagine finding something that put out that fire. No think about that being taken away. Of course it would piss him off!

His pencil lead snapped again. He was tempted to walk over there and make a scene but knew he would be scowled if he did. Gripping his sharpener, he made his pencil even more short.

"Listen Nazz, I'm sorry but I have plans tonight." Kevin apologized sheepishly. "I promise I'll hang out another time." He told her with a reassuring nod.

Nazz huffed softly, her arms crossing. "That's what you always say Kev... What in the world do you do after school anyway?" She asked, raising a brow at him. "You're always studying! It's not like you do anything outside of your academics. Spill the beans man, did you find yourself a new bestfriend? Just tell me, I can totally take it." She told him, beginning a fake cry. Noticing the red head's cheeks reddening quickly, she found expression dropping and her lips immediately curling upward into a smile. "Don't tell me... do you secretly have a girlfriend?" She asked, sitting down instantly.

Eddward found himself agitated by the female's words. Furrowing his eyebrows, he clenched the pencil in between his fingers as he continued to write. She was his best friend, he understood that. Did that mean that he had to like her? He didnt like anyone. Especially someone who thought they knew everything but knew nothing. Looking back up, he noticed Kevin had snuck a glance his way. The red head probably wasn't trying to annoy him, but he still felt agitated. He knew what he was doing by giving him attention.

If anything, at least the blond got one part right, it was secret. After all of this time being together, it was still something that Kevin didn't want others to know about. Maybe he was ashamed? He didn't really have the best of reputations, he kind of understood in that way. It didn't make it any easier to accept however. If he wanted to grab the other and pull him close in front of everyone they knew, he would. The thought itself caused his leg to bounce. He was too impatient.

Setting his pencil down, he stared down at the page he had just wrote on. Kevin had told him that if he wrote his troubling thoughts down, it would make him feel better. Frowning deeply, he grabbed the page and ripped it up. It never made him feel better. It made him remember what he couldn't have. Crumpling it into a tight ball, he suddenly stood up. Grabbing his belongings, he slung his bag over his shoulder. Walking over to the trashcan, he struck it with the ball.

"Mr. Vincent! Where do you think you're going?" The teacher barked, his large belly jiggling as he put his hands on his hips.

"I'm leaving. Isn't it obvious?" Edd asked simply, his expression blank. Listening to the fat man yell and threaten him, he turned his back to his staring classmates and left. He wasn't in the mood for this right now, he hated this class. He hated this entire school and everyone in it. Plus a detention for ditching class was much more realistic that getting suspended for doing anything worse. Blocking out anymore words, he walked down the empty hallway. Class had only began, no one should be roaming around. The silence was exactly what he needed. He headed towards the school's swimming pool, his favorite spot to go to in this terrible school. He needed to cool down, he could take his anger out in the water, on his own body. He could deal with the consequences later, right now, he just needed to stop thinking about that damn ginger or else he would do something he'd regret.

Once in the locker room, he stripped and pulled on his swim trunks. Looking at the small mirror hanging on the locker door, he frowned at his expression. A scowl was always glued onto his face, whether he wanted it there or not. Sighing, he softly closed the locker door. Walking over to the large pool, he stopped at the edge. Turning around, he closed his eyes. Opening his arms, he fell backwards. Splashing into the water, he fell to the bottom of the pool. Blowing all the air of his lungs, he remained at the bottom. Opening his eyes, he looked upwards. Sometimes he wondered what it would be like to stay down here, until he drowned. Who would find him? Who would actually care? Feeling his chest tighten and the urge to breath, he pushed upwards. Breaking the water surface, he gasped in the needed air. Panting, he floated along. Looking around, he was quite surprised that the principal wasn't here yet. Usually the older man would shake his head and repeat the usual how he'd get kicked out of this school if he continued to walk out of class. He snorted as he thought about it.

They wouldn't kick him out, he was the reason why their school got those big shiny trophies in the swimming competition. Just like the quarterback on the Cobblers team who did drugs illegally, they weren't going to do anything. It sickened him. He began swimming forward, doing laps to get his mind off things. He pushed forward, keeping his pace until the muscles in his body ached. Stopping to take a breather, he pulled himself out. Laying on the concrete, he panted softly. Covering his eyes up with his arm, he laid there for who knows how long.

"Why did you walk out again?"

Edd frowned, he didn't move his arm. "I'm not in the mood to talk right now Pumpkin. Adieu."

"Are you really going to do this?" Kevin asked with a matching frown, "Aren't you worried about your grades? You're going to expelled! Don't you care?!" He asked, throwing up is arms.

Edd finally moved his arm and looked at the other, "Not at all." He turned to his side, "Why don't you go tell your girlfriend?"

Kevin looked at him confused before recalling his conversation with Nazz. He chuckled before sitting down next to the wet Ed. "You're upset because of that?" Poking Edd's cheek, he sighed. "You're my boyfriend so I have to lecture you. It's my job. I know we're still in the closet but we'll come out. I promise." Leaning down, he pressed his lips to Edd's chilly skin. "Don't be mad."

Edd sat up before grabbing the back of the others head. Leaning forward, he pressed his lips to the others in a hard kiss before pulling away. "I'm not mad," He stood, "I just want to skip. You know I hate being here." He looked down to see Kevin blushing, his lips pressed together. Looking away, Edd forced himself not to show similar colors. "Don't you have a class to go to?"

Kevin finally looked up, this time determined. "Only if you come with me. No skipping this one or I'll be angry."

Eddward ran his fingers through his wet hair as he listened to the others threats, "Yeah yeah, I'll go. Just let me get dressed." Watching the red headed nerd get excited, he found himself smiling. Turning away, he shook his head. "Give me a minute." Stalking forward, he ignored the blush burning on his cheeks. Damn his pumpkin. Only he could make him feel this way.

A/N: Just wanted to write a quick one shot. I can't really think of a plot right now so I figured why not drabble it up a lil. Hope you all enjoyed. Thanks for reading!
