Chapter 13: Draco story

The week leading up to the meeting with Draco, Harry used his contacts find out information on the restaurant, Grammy's Kitchen, the restaurant itself was one of the best restaurants in both muggle and wizarding society, the family my graded to america from Ireland 40 years ago, and have had many magical children and non magical children over the years. And currently was ran by the second to youngest grandchild who happen to be a witch with a muggle brother and a muggle mom.

When Harry and Teddy walked into the medium-sized café it was just a round 12 o'clock. They were both dressed in their casual muggle clothing, since the restaurant serve both non magical and magical if you wanted to eat here you had to blend in, the restaurant had one rule and one rule only besides proper etiquette, NO MAGIC WHAT SO EVER, failure to follow that rule would get you immediately banded from the premises.

Harry sweeping his eyes across the other diners, catching out of the corner of his eye a head of pale blonde hair behind a newspaper with the heading, Liberty Daily.

Harry got his godson attention and motion towards the head of blonde hair at the farthest booth from the door.

Teddy turned is currently green eyes to stare into the liquid silver his older cousin Draco.

The two men made their way over to the far booth where the blonde aristocrat was sitting.

Draco watched as his ex-school rival and his cousin Teddy approach the booth, he raised his hands for his waitress Kathy, she gave him a nod and he turned back through the two men who he hoped would help him protect his son.

He gave them both appraising looks, Pott- no Harry he corrected himself, Was wearing a pair of tan dress pants with a red polo shirt and a black fall jacket, he moved his eyes over to his cousin, his cousin was wearing a pair of dark blue jeans a long orange and red shirt with an image of a wolf on it.

As the two men sat down Kathy approach the table placing two sets of silverware onto the table.

" you too can order whatever you to want, I nodded my head towards Kathy, kathy will just put it on my tab." Kathy nodded.

Harry nodded and glance at his menu, after a few minutes him in Teddy along with Draco place their orders, the trio was left alone as the waitress went to place their orders and get their drinks. After the waitress left Harry decided to break the ice, so to speak.

" So Draco it's been a while, what have you been up to?" Harry asked, Draco just gave a little smirk and pushed the newspaper in their direction.

Harry picks up the paper and reads.

The Dragon has done it again

Thursday evening the aurors discovered a small group of the undergroun smuggling group that has been abducting muggle and wizarding children.

just within the last few months has made headway into bringing some of these despicable people to justice.

My sources say that the Dragon has tracked down this group for the past 3 years and just with in the last couple of months has made headway in capturing members of the group and stopping several child abductions from happening.

A few of the theories going around is that the dragon is either,

A. A seer

B. Has a spy

C. Is just really freaking lucky

The article went on to talk about what the aurors were doing to try to combat the child abductions.

Harry finally passed the newspaper to Teddy and stared at Draco, taking a sip of his drink he met Draco's silver eyes.

"So you're a... auror?" Harry asked.

Draco just shook his head in the negative and said, " No, I'm there local dark wizard expert". He said.

Teddy who just got done reading over the paper look to his godfather and asked,

"but isn't that what a auror is?" Teddy question.

" yes Teddy that is what a auror is." Teddy just nodded.

Harry looked away from his Godson and back to Draco, before he could speak Draco raised his hand motioning for the waitress, the waitress came walking up and Draco said to her,

"Kathy I think we're ready for dessert and coffee."

Kathy nodded and pulled out her notepad stood waiting for their orders. Harry just ordered a piece of cherry tart while Teddy ordered a piece of lemon meringue pie, after writing their orders the waitress turn to Draco, Draco said,

I think I would like a 'muffliato' muffin to go and a piece of cheesecake." Kathy nodded and went to get their desserts.

Harry and Teddy stared confusedly at Draco, Draco just scared calmly back and said, "what?"

Harry just raised his eyebrows and said..."A muffliato muffin?"

Draco did not answer Harry until their desserts and coffee were placed in front of them.

" yes, since magic is not allowed the building just asked her to cast muffliato, now that there's one up I can tell you the reason that I have asked you both to meet me here today." he paused take a bite of his cheesecake before starting up again.

"Let me begin with an explanation." the two across from him nodded.

"The reason I left Britain was to have a life and to build my family, he took a sip of coffee, back in Britain I was unable to find work after I finally graduated, being that I was known as a Death Eater, even though it was known that I was forced by my father, didn't help me in finding a job nobody would give... here he used air quotes, a slimy Death eater a good paying job."

Harry frowned at that as Draco continued.

"Me and Scorpius' mom had been secretly dating behind our fathers backs, cuz I was supposed to marry her sister..."

Harry interrupted Draco with a question, ''who was the sister that you were supposed to marry Draco?'' Harry asked honestly curious who the ex-Slytherin was supposed to marry.

"Surely you must have heard Daphne say at least once that her father offered her hand in marriage to father for me?"

Harry diss shook his head, Draco side before saying,

"She would always announce to anybody who would hear it that her father and my father put together betruthful contract between us when we were born.'' He pause to take another sip of coffee, "I hated to pretend to like her.''

Harry chests tilted his head and said, " I didn't know Daphne had a sister, what year was she in?"

Draco gave a smile before saying, ''yes Daphne had a younger sister that was two years younger her, her name was Astoria Greengrass, the younger sister of Daphne Greengrass. She was first year when we were third years, she was in Ravenclaw, She started the year after your wife in are third year.''

Harry Connick help but notice when Draco started playing with his wedding band, Harry smiled a bit and back to see a happy but sad smile on the man's lips,

Methodically twisting his wedding band around his ring finger not really realizing what he was doing. Neither Harry or teddy wanted to break silent atmosphere as they both could see that Draco was in great emotional thought. Eventually Draco shook his self out of his thoughts and continued his tail.

''We didn't start dating until I was 16 and she was 14. She was my comfort after I almost..."

Draco trailed off not able to finish his sentence, but Harry knew the night that Draco was talking about, the night that Draco was supposed to kill their headmaster, Albus Dumbledore. But the blonde sitting across from him gonna go through with it and it ended up being there Potions professor, Severus Snape who actually did the deed.

Draco laughed silently to himself as he glanced up into emerald eyes. As the two pairs of eyes met Draco quickly looked down and at his wedding band before saying,

" Astoria was worried about me that summer, she was worried that I was going to do something stupid, so she wrote letters to me every single day that summer." he ran his fingers through his hair as he said,

"It was during the last week of August before our 7th year when my mother found out about our secret relationship. I was worried that she would be furious to me, but.." Draco gave another small smile, " but she was thrilled that I had I'm love with someone. So my mother helped me plan a meeting between Astoria and I.''

"It was after you defeated you-know-who," Harry rolled his eyes at the blonds reluctance to say Voldemort's name after 15 years. But quickly tuned back into to what Draco was saying.

"After Astoria finished school in january 2001 we move to the United States where we had a small wedding with us my mother and a few of her friends. Since Astoria's sister and father were both convicted of being Death eaters, and her mother was found dead in their home, lots of court cases and Viera serum it was decided that she could have her family's money with just some fine 4 her sister and father s actions, she didn't my after she paid even donated a large sum of money for therapy for the young children who has lost somebody and she donated to the hospital as well. And then after all that she used what was left of her money to buy a small 2 bedroom flat in New York City where I had just been hired to be a consultant in the auror office.''

Draco looked down and noticed at his cup of coffee was empty, so he looked up and spotting our waitress motions for her to get him another cup of coffee before continuing,

"February 14, 2001 I started training to be a auror, while in September of that year Astoria started attending a muggle college so she could become a writer. 3 years after that in 2004 I graduated from auror training, And then a year after that Astoria had finished her schooling and had started writing her own book."

And then a goofy smile appeared on Draco's face, I knew whatever was going to come after only made the blonde happy.

"And then on November 5th 2005, Astoria and I we're blessed with our amazing son Scorpius."

But soon after that statement Draco's face fell in sorrow and he took a sip of his coffee, after a very long pause where Teddy and Harry wasn't sure if they should say anything Draco spoke again.

"The following years were some of the best of my life, I had a beautiful amazing wife and a cute as a button Son as well," Draco side. He looked up from where his eyes were on his coffee cup to gaze into his cousin's green eyes that momentarily flashed to silver matching his own before changing back to green.

Teddy gave his cousin a smile that the blonde return with one of his own, after a few minutes Draco looked away from his cousin's smiling face and said,

"The blacks weren't the only peerblood family have a bloodline trait like Teddy's metamorphmagus Abilities, Astoria's family has a gift hasn't been seen since her great great great great grandmother, and when Scorpius was 4 he started to have strange dreams once in a while that at first we had no clue what they were and that it was even a ability he was showing."

''It wasn't until several months later wind Scorpius had a dream about the case that I had been workingon is that only me and the head auror knew any of the details for, that me and my wife started looking into what these dreams could be, one night after we were awoken by Scorpius's screaming from one of his latest dream that my wife got the idea to tell him a bedtime story, I good there in the doorway of my son's room listening to my wife tell our son a story about her seer grandmother." he paused to take a sip of his schooling coffee, " it was at that moment listening my wife tell her story that the pieces of my sons odd dream fell into place, my son had inherited my wife family gift that hasn't been seen in generations." Draco drumd his fingers onto the table.

Draco pausing for a moment look up into the green eyes of his ex-school rival addressing him asked,

"Harry did you know that there was more than one type of seer?" Harry shook his head as Draco continued, " well there are seers who give prophecies like our old divination professor,'' Harry rolled his eyes ''there are Seers who see visions through touch and there are seers like Astorias great great great great grandmother who have visions why they sleep."

The table was silent as Teddy and Harry processed that information it was Teddy who first broke the silence.

"So Scorpius is a seer?'' Teddy questiond, draco nodded, Teddy and Harry gave each other a quick glance before Harry spoke,

" so... Harry started, your letter said that you needed our help, and I'm guessing by how you worded your letter that you need help protecting Scorpius?"

Draco nodded his head and look straight into both their eyes before saying,

"Somehow somebody found out about my sons gift, and when he was eight..." Draco's voice started to crack and he started to shake slightly, Teddy got up from where he was sitting next to his godfather sat down next to his cousin, taking his cousins shaking hand he gave it a squeeze, and gave Draco a small smile when the blonde look up from his lap went on shed tears in the corners of his eyes,

Taking a calming breath and wiping away his on shed tears and giving the younger man next to him a smile he started speaking again,

''When Scorpius was eight I took him to the wizarding alley in New York, we had went into a bookstore, and I had turned away for only a moment y Scorpius looked at the history books, when I turn back around..." Draco took another deep breath,

"When I turned back around Scorpius was gone, I went bolting out of the store and looked up in down the street but there was no sign of my son, someone had kidnapped my son right under my nose."
