Quickly ignoring the few customers that were in the shop Ginny and Teddy ran to the back weird George did all his inventing for new products.
George cough as he coughed he didn't here are the warning bell that somebody was entering his workshop.
George looked up when the smoke cleared and he was handed a glass of water who his sisters amused face, he smiled and accepted the glass, taking a drink he cleared his airways from the smoke from his latest experiments.
When he finally finished his glass he glanced to where his sister was standing with a scowl on her face and her hands planted on her hips, he grimaced as he thought, 'Ginny is like a mini replica of our mother, I feel sorry for her and Harry's kids.'
"GEORGE WEASLEY..." Teddy wins as his Aunt Ginny started to tear her brother a new one. " um.. I'm just going to go take a walk." Teddy send leaving the backroom.
As Teddy entered the main store area he saw uncle George's friend, Lee Jordan manning the cash register, Teddy gave a smile as he mouthed, " going for a walk." Jordan just nodded before turning back with customers at the register.
Teddy side as the joke shop door shut behind him. He loves his family he really did but he did not want to hear his Aunt Ginny right now.
He sighed again as he started to revisit some of the shops that they had visited earlier, as he was walking past the Apothecary he decided that he wanted an ice cream he changed his direction t go that way, as he was walking past Ollivanders something in the window hot his eye, so doubling back he went to stand in front of the old wand maker shop.
As he gazed into the window, sitting in an ornate wooden box line with red felt was what work to Teddy to be a muggle pocket knife he wondered what something like that was doing in a Wand shop. Curious Teddy decided to inter the shop and get a better look.
Walking over to where the knife was being displayed he leaned over the box and gave it a look.
Ollivander was in the backroom of his shop when his wards let him know that someone had entered the store, grabbing the towel that was draped on his shoulder to wipe the gillyweed puss off his hands, he made his way to the front of his shop.
He entered unnoticed to see a young man with emerald-green hair and blue streak standing over the whittling knife he had for sale. He stood there for another moment before speaking.
"3 and 1 half inches, almond wood, with a clump of werewolf fur core."
Ollivander's smiled as the young man jumped, his hair turning from green to pink.
Teddy flushed in embarrassment as he turned around to see the old wand maker standing behind the counter, he gave Ollivander a smile before stepping away from the window and over towards the man.
As Teddy approached the counter he said, " hello Mr Ollivander, I was just out shopping today when that knife in your window caught my eye." Ollivander nodded at the young man in front of him.
Ollivander chuckled to himself as he said, "yes yes. it must seem odd to see a muggle tool in a magical shop." he walked from around the counter as he continued.
"If I have learned one thing about my craft over these many years to that knowing an a ray of different skills can help you in the overall picture."
He stopped in front of the window and picked up the box with the knife in it, turning around he continued speaking, ''one of the many things I have learned about my trade is that knowing the way your woods Ben and twist is a good thing. When I was just learning about wand crafting my mentor taught me how to whittle."
Teddy smiled as he asked, "what exactly is whittling?"
" well whittling is The Art of Shaving would. My mentor taught me it so I would know how the different woods react." he smiled at the enthusiasm front of him.
Teddy nodded, Ollivander smiled.
" I'm going to tell you what my mentor told me when I asked why he was teaching me how to whittle."
Teddy nodded again, even though the young man was a mighty Gryffindor many people thought that he would have made amazing Ravinclaw because of his eagerness for knowledge. A trait that many people would tell the young metamorphmagus was a trait he inherited from his father.
"My mentor told me that back in the days of Merlin that witches and wizards had to make their own Wand's and or staff's."
As the two talk Teddy never noticed that the Wand maker was wrapping up the box with the carving knife in it.
"may I inquire who you are shopping for?"
Teddy nodded, " I am shopping for a Christmas present for my cousin Scorpius."
Ollivander just humd as he asked, " you want it happen to be related to Scorpius Malfoy would you?"
Teddy nodded and said, "yes, he's my cousin''.
Ollivander humd once more before speaking, "when that young man came into my shop I could see that he had a lot of hardship so far in his short life. He will need all the support and guidance he can get Mr Lupin."
Teddy nodded understanding the Wandmakers words. Ollivander shoved the box and book into Teddy's hands, but before Teddy could get a sound out there was a knock at the door, turning towards the door Teddy saw his Aunt Ginny standing just outside the shop, turning back around to asked the old man how much the knife and book cost he was surprised to see empty air where the wand maker had just been standing not even a moment ago.
Teddy hufft in annoyance, not seeing the old man anywhere Teddy side and pull out his wallet taking out a few gallons and placing them on the counter to pay for the items Teddy turned and left the shop.
Ollivander's smiled to himself as he watched a young man who would make a difference in many lives, Ollivander took the few gold coins left on the counter and placed them in a special jar, with a smile the old wizard made his way back to engrossing himself in his craft,
