Chapter 16; A meet and greet
Many things changed after the Battle of Hogwarts, like the school got an upgrade while it was being rebuilt, it was still the 'old' Castle in there were still some of the same traits like the moving staircases.
But the most notable change was how the school intergrated inter-house unity and outter-house unity, The students were still separated into the four houses, But, now each group had a communal common room for all four houses.
Each year group of first year got a name and a Group House leader, in this group of first years were known as the legacies and their house leader was professor Smith.
The new set up was so each of the students could get to know everybody in their year group, once a week there was a mandatory meeting in there communal common room on Saturdays, the rest of the week you were allowed to pop in and out as you wished.
And currently they were having their first meeting of the school year.
" Welcome to all of you young legacies." professor Smith said as he smiled at all of the eager first years, the first year Sat around the room watching the professor.
" today we are here to have a meet and greet, as the non magic folk in the states would say." A few people chuckled.
" I would like everybody to introduce their self, please tell us your name and something about you. Like something you like doing or something you find entertaining." he suckd in a breath before saying, "we'll start with you miss Raven"
The redhead that the professor addressed blush and stood up. "H-Hi, hmm... My name is Rebecca Raven and hmm... And I like to draw." she said before taking her seat again.
The professor smiled as he address one of the young Ravenclaw to please stand up.
"Hello, my name is Lee Chye, and I am a black belt in karate." he gave a slight bow to the room as he said, " please take care of me."
One thing to be noticed was that children whose parents fought in the war so whose names were known to the public would not and did not flaunt their family name, so why they were introducing themselves they stayed far away from anything relating to their family name besides just introducing themselves.
Next the professor motioned for miss Finnigan to introduce herself.
The pretty brown haired girl stood up, "Hi, my name is Kaylee Finnigan, and I like working on cars like a mechanic."
The professor nodded his head as he next motion for Scorpius to stand and address the crowd.
Scorpius took a deep breath before standing up. Clutching the book he was holding to his chest he manage a small hesitant smile before stuttering out.
"H-Hello, I- I A-am Scorpius M- ma-Malfoy, a-and I enjoy reading" Scorpius quickly said as he sat back down clutching his book even tighter to his chest.
The professor smiled as he said, " thank you for that wonderful introduction Scorpius." giving the boy another smile he turn to ask for Albus to introduce himself.
"Hello." Albus said, I am Albus Potter, and I like flying on my broom and reading to my little sister."
After that the atmosphere seemed to lighten and people introduce themselves with happy smiles and lots of laughs. By the end of the meeting there were lots of tentative and blooming friendships.
The one that everybody noticed the most was the starting friendship between the young Potter, Weasley and Malfoy children.
