Happy New Year! It's been a good ride through the first chapters and the first middle of the first arc and now we are in the middle end of the arc, that means that we are almost at the end of the first arc. By the upcoming spring the first arc should end and the second arc will come! It would be like Sword Art Online with it's Online arcs. So here we go with the chapter and a new character will come into this chapter! -Mephisto

Akari stood in front of her bathroom mirror, she brushed her hair and while staring at her reflection. Her eyes turned red and her hair was black, she backed away from the mirror and put her hands on her ears.

"STOP IT!" She grabbed her cross necklace and put it against her neck. "By the name of God and the guardian angels that was send down from Heaven, I ban thee back into the imprisonment that you were sent to and the hell that you stay by God's name!"

The cross burned her skin and flew her against the wall, she panted and touched the burned mark on her neck.

She looked for her cross necklace, it was beside her. She grabbed it and touched the wall to stand up, she looked at the mirror that was shattered.

Her sliver hair and bright blue eyes were back where they belong, she gave a sigh and walked out of the bathroom.

She sat on her bed and put her hands on her face.

The pills don't work at all, I feel like I'm losing my mind. Why won't this stop?

The front door knocked, she looked at it and stood up to walked to it.

Rin stood against the fence, he looked around him with the cold winter air. He pulled up his pink scarf to his nose, he sighed.

"It's so cold, why can't the winter end already?" He looked up at the gray sky, snow was slowly falling down.

It's already snowing...When will it ever be over?

Footsteps walked up the pavement, he turned to look and saw Akari walking to him. He gave a small smile to her and waved.

She looked up at him and gave a small smile, they both walked to school together with their hands intertwinded.

"It's almost the New Year." Rin looked at the sky.

"Mmm." Akari said with her head lowered, he looked at her and with his eyes staring at hers.

She walked slowly with the snow falling on her hair, her body shivered.

"Akari, I need to-" A person ran into Rin and made him fall to the pavement, he groaned.

"Don't say another word to Kary!" A female voice yelled at him, he looked up and saw a girl standing in front of him but he couldn't see the girl's face only a white silhouette of a small body.

He rubbed his eyes and looked back up, the white silhouette was gone and Akari stared down at him.

"Are you okay?" He looked around him, he shooked his head and looked back at Akari.

"I guess so, we should go now."

Why did I hear a girl yell at me and pushed me down? Am I going crazy?

The girl giggled behind them, she sighed.

"I think it's time for me and him to meet, don't you think little snowflakes?" She touched a falling snowflake with her finger, it turned into a frozen block of ice.

Rin and Akari walked by the snow covered park while holding hands.

"Watch out!" Rin turned to see who was talking to him but a snowball hit his face.

Akari looked at the group, they were hiding behind a snow fort. Rin rubbed the snow off his face and threw it at them.

"I told you to watch out!" Everyone poked their heads out and stood up.

"You should have moved out of the way."

"HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT A SNOWBALL WAS COMING AT MY FACE?" Akari saw a pile of snow being thrown at the wall.

"Akari?" She looked at the group.

"Do you want to play snowball fight? You can be on our side!" She lowered her head.

"A snowball fight? I..." Rin looked at her. "I...don't know...how to play..."

Everyone gave a shocked look.

"How do not know how to throw a snowball?" She didn't say anything, Shima grabbed a handful of snow and turned into a shape of a ball.

"Here, watch." She looked at him, he gave a smile and threw the ball at Rin.

"HEY!" Her eyes wided.

"That's how you play, all you need to do is make snow into a ball in your hand and throw it at someone." She looked at the snow and grabbed a handful of snow and turned into a ball, she looked at Rin and threw it in his face.

"WHY DO YOU PEOPLE THROW SNOWBALLS AT ME?" Everyone laughed, Akari gave a small grin to herself.

"How about it? Be on our side?" Bon asked her.

"No! She'll be on our side!" Izumo yelled at him.

"She's got the arm! She can throw a snowball in a mile away!"

"But then it won't be even!" Akari felt a tug on her shirt, she looked down and gave a small smile.

"I'll be on the girl's team." Everyone looked at her.

"YES!" Izumo yelled outloud, Akari looked at Rin.

"I guess I'll be on the boy's team. I wish that I'm not the target to everyone." She gave a small smile.

"Alright! Let's get this starting!" Everyone went to their forts and waited. "GO!"

Snowballs were thrown in the air, some hit the girls and boys.

Akari grabbed a snowball and threw it at Shima's face, he fell to the ground.

"Shima!" Rin held him in his arms.

"I've been hit, go on without me! Tell Izumo, I...love her." He closed his eyes.

"YOU IDIOT!" Izumo yelled at him, Rin gave a slaute to him.

"I will fight for you!"

"Why are they acting like it's war?" Akari grabbed a handful of snow but a snowball hit her, she held her hand and looked at the fort.

I can't get more snowballs, they'll hit me.

A pile of snow was moving at the far side of the girl's fort, Akari looked at it. The pile of snow was turning into a snowball and it hit the boys.

"HEY!" Akari gave a grin, and a snowball was floated to her.

Thanks.

A snowball hit Rin on the back of his head, he looked above him.

"Who hit me?" A snowball was hit on Izumo's head.

"Hey!" A another snowball hit Bon in the face.

"What the-?" Everyone stopped throwing snowballs and heard a giggle, they looked around but heard it louder above them.

They all stood up and looked at the tree above them, a giggle was heard on top of the tree.

"Alright! Come out now!" Bon yelled at it.

"Aw! It was getting fun!" A girl with blond hair with a red highlight appeared, she held a snowball in her hand.

"Who are you?" The girl gave a grin and stuck out her tongue.

"HEY!" Rin yelled at the girl who looked no more than 12, the girl looked at Akari and gave a smile.

"Kary!" She stood on top the tree and teleported in front of Akari, she hugged her. "It's been too long!"

Everyone gave a confused look.

"WHO ARE YOU?" The girl looked at Rin and stuck out her tongue at him. "HEY!"

"Don't yell at the young girl, she's only 99 years old." Everyone turned around, Marie stood in the snow with a smal smile on her face.

"99 years old? She's looks like she's 12." Everyone sat on the floor in Marie's home, Marie closed her eyes and gave a small smile.

"She's a demon, she's a Ala." Rin gave a confused look.

"What's a Ala?" Izumo gave a sigh.

"They are female demons that can control the weather and cause bad weather." She had her arms crossed. "But it's said that they look like dragons or serpents not 12 year old girls."

The Ala scoffed at her and looked away from her.

"She's only 99 years old, it's like going through puberty for some demons. She's hadn't gotten her transformation powers yet."

"So what? Alas look like they little kids before they go through transformation?" The Ala's face turned red and was going to explode.

"Sometimes when they are in their human forms, they will look either a pre-teen or a teenager. Alas are sometimes moody and cause bad weather when they are angry." The snowly weather turned into a cold bizzard. "Like that."

Everyone looked at the Ala who had a red angry face.

"So they are just little annoying brats." The Ala teleported to Izumo and her face was in front of her.

"I'M NOT ANNOYING BRAT! I'M 99 YEARS OLD! I'M OLDER THAN YOU!" The bizzard was getting bad and the Ala's blond hair turned into red and her highlight turned into blonde.

"At least I got breasts and you don't." The Ala was getting angry as the bizzard was turning deathy.

"Can you calm her down? I'm afraid of the weather now." Marie looked at Akari, she nodded at her and stood up.

She poked the Ala's shoulder, she looked at Akari.

"Piyo-chan, Piyo-chan, piyo Piyo-chan. Ma arukute tsubura na me wa, kirarin, kirarin hoshi mitai. Piyo-chan, Piyo-chan, piyo Piyo-chan." She had a small stuffed yellow chicken on her head.

The Ala gave a smile and teleported in front of Akari, she gave her the stuffed animal and the Ala hugged it. The Ala's hair turned back into blonde with it's red highlight.

The bizzard disappered and snow fell down from the sky, everyone sighed but Rin was given a shocked look.

"What...just...happened?" Marie giggled at Rin and stared at the Ala and Akari.

"That's the only thing that will make Alas happy, it's called the 'Piyo-chan' song and they love the little chicken." Rin looked at Marie and at Akari. "But only one person could sing that song and now that person has passed away."

Rin lowered his eyes, he looked up at Akari. She was smiling down at the Ala.

"Only my voice or her voice can calm down the demons."

Rin looked at the corner of his eye, he saw Akemi standing beside him. Her long black hair was still and her white dress wasn't flowing, her white skin glowed and her brown eyes.

Why are you here?

She looked down at him, she gave a grin and put her hand on her chest.

"Only 1 more month left."

"Rin?" He looked at Akari who was standing in front of him, he looked around and Akemi was gone.

"Are you okay? You've been distracted a lot." He gave a small grin.

"I've just been daydreaming, sorry."

"You better not be dreaming perverted thoughts about Kary!" The Ala yelled at him, he looked at her.

"By the way, how do you know Akari? And why do you call her that?" The Ala blushed, she looked at Akari.

"I-I...I-"

"I met her a while back then, I was outside in the winter and she was sitting on top of a tree. I didn't know she was a demon back then." Akari told them, the Ala looked at her with a small smile.

"But why call her 'Kary'?" The Ala blushed.

"Be...cause...that was the only thing I could say in her name and...it got stuck." Everyone looked at Akari.

"She couldn't say my name whole, so she called me 'Kary'."

"Many Alas can only two syllables at a young age, and she could only say the last two syllables of Akari's name." Marie told them, she looked at Akari and gave a smile.

She gave a small smile to her and felt blood coming down her arm.

"Excuse me." She gave a small bow to them and ran out the room, everyone looked at each other.

Akari ran to the girl's bathroom and locked the door, she lifted her shelve and looked at the cut, it was almost 8 inches long.

"Why won't this stop!" She runned the water from the sink and grabbed paper towels, she wiped the blood.

A knock was heard on the door.

"Akari?" Shiemi was on the other side of the door. "Are you okay in there?"

"Uh, yeah! Just, my fingers got cold and I need to run some hot water on them!" Shiemi looked at the door.

"Oh, okay! Be careful." Shiemi walked away from the door.

"I will!" Akari kept trying to make the blood from coming out but it did anyway.

"What are you trying to do? You can't stop my blood from hitting the pure white snow and causing the blood of the ones you love to spill."

The black haired self of her was standing on the other side of the mirror, she gave a grin to her.

"I won't let you hurt my friends, I let you out too many times when I was kid and now I won't let you." She told her black haired self.

"But still, are you going to risk your own sanity to save those people in the other room? For those humans that don't even know who you really are?"

The black self stood behind her, whispering in her ear.

"No, I'm not that!" She yelled at her, the black self smiled at her.

"But you are. You are a murderous demon that you call yourself 'human' to those people but you really are just a demon that's thristy for blood."

Akari closed her eyes and put her hands on her ears.

"Shut up!" The black haired self smiled at her.

"You are just in a web that I made just for you, a web of blood."

"Leave her alone." The black haired self looked behind her and gave a grin.

"As if, you will soon know how powerful my power is with those sais of hers."

Akari looked in the mirror and gave a smile.

"Luka, how did you-" Luka walked to the black haired self and stood in front of her.

She looked down at her, she looked at her in the red eyes.

"You are transparent, you are getting stronger now." The black haired self flipped her hair and smiled.

"You know it my dear puppy dog."

Luka gave a scowl and her hand turned into a fist, she grabbed the black haired self with her hand on it's neck.

"Akari, put the cross on the back of your neck and say the verse. Now!" Akari took out her cross necklace and flipped her hair to the side, she put the cross on her neck.

"But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one!" The cross burned her neck and the black haired self disappered into smoke and was sucked into her back. "AH!"

Akari fell to the marble floor, the blood was dripping down from her arm. Luka bend down to her and touched her bleeding arm.

"Are you alright now?" She nodded.

"Yeah, it's just the coldness in my body." Luka looked at her arm and closed her eyes, she breathed in and out and a green light appeared around her hand.

The light touched the cut and healed.

"Ow." She lifted her arm.

"It will sting but for only a few minutes, you need to take those pills. They are the only thing that will keep your sanity." Akari stood up and stood in front of Luka.

"But they don't do anything to keep her from hurting me!"

"You are already in stage 3 of the possession, it shouln't surpised me that you are not getting hurt by her."

"But I don't want her to kill Rin!"

"It's already too late now, the day is coming in almost a month now. The death of you or his will be either of your hands or his." Akari lowered her eyes.

"I know."

"It's not your choice or his, it's the Eight Demon Kings choice and only theirs! How many times have I told you about this? Your fate was chosen since the day you were born!" Akari put her hand on her arm.

"I know, but I shouldn't be the one to kill everyone! Why am I the one that has to kill? Why am I the one that has to kill Rin? I want to be myself! I want to be a normal human-" Luka slapped her in the face, her eyes were wide.

Akari took a step back, she touched her red cheek and kept her eyes low.

"I have kept you from the men that would hurt you on the outside and inside! I have taken care of you since you were a child! I have watched over your mother when you were in her stomach, I have always treated you like you were my own child!" Luka yelled at her, Akari didn't say anything.

She stood up and kept her eyes lowered, neither of them said a word to each other. Akari walked out of the bathroom and walked down the hallway, covering her red cheek.

Rin and the group was laughing in the room, he felt something touch his shoulder.

He looked at his side and saw Akemi at the doorway, she had a sad look on her face.

What's wrong with her? Why does she look sad?

He saw Akari walking fast down the hallway, she looked depressed.

Akari?

He stood up and walked out of the room.

"Rin? Where are you going?"

"I'm going to go home now, see you later." He grabbed his coat and Akari's and ran after her.

Akari ran out into the cold winter weather with only her thin long shelve shirt covering her arms, she rubbed her arms.

That was the first time Luka has ever slapped me. It hurts so much.

"Akari!" Rin yelled out to her, she stopped walking and turned around.

He walked to her and held out her coat.

"You are going to be freezing cold out here." He put her coat around her shoulders, he saw the red mark on her cheek.

"What happened to you?" He touched her cheek, she lowered her eyes. "I can make it better."

He kissed her cheek, her cheeks were blushing.

"Is that better?" She kept her eyes lowered and head, he stared at her. "What's wrong?"

She put her hand on his chest and put her head on it, she started to cry.

"Akari? What happened? Did I make you cry?" She shooked her head.

"No, it's...it's just..."

I can't tell him about the day, not yet.

He put his scarf around her neck, it was still around his neck and he wrapped it.

"What are you?" She was going to look up at him but he wrapped his arms around her and smiled down at her.

She blushed as he smiled at her.

"I thought you might be still cold so I wrapped us in my scarf." She slowly pulled away from him to look up at him but he kissed her on the mouth.

She closed her eyes and put her hands on his chest, she got on her toes and deepen the kiss.

He pulled away and looked at her.

"Are you warm now?" She blushed at him and looked away.

"Why is warmth so important to you?" He chuckled at her.

"I'm just making sure you are warm in this weather." He smiled at her and looked up at the sky. "I've been wondering, the New Year's is coming soon and I've been wanting..."

She looked up at him with a confused look, he looked down at him.

"Do you want to go to the New Year's party tomorrow night? There's fireworks and cake." She gave a small smile.

"I would love to." She kissed him on the cheek, he smiled.

"Then it's a date!" His eyes widen. "Wait...I didn't! That came out wrong!"

She giggled at him.

I'm going to make my own choices and make sure that Rin won't die in front of me. He's the One Just For Me and I won't take his life.
