Chapter 7
Now continuing...
Jake sighed "Speaking of my boyfriend, I really SHOULD call Adam. Knowing him, he's in a panic attack over this by now."
Blaine nodded. He sat down by Kurt and took his hand. "Baby stay awake."
Jake went to call Adam.
Kurt whimpered "Blainey?"
"Yeah Kurtie, I'm right here." Blaine said calmly.
Tears ran down Kurt's face. He squeezed tight to Blaine's hand "Please...stay...I'm scared."
A near hysterical british voice could be heard through Jake's phone. Adam now knew.
"I'll stay with you, I promise. Don't be scared," Blaine said.
Kurt nodded. His hand tightened suddenly around Blaine's as a pulse of pain shot through him. "Hurts Blaine..."
Blaine winced a little. "It's okay Kurt... J-Jake Kurt's in pain. W-What I do?" Blaine asked Jake.
Jake sighed. "Just...try to distract him, ok? Once we get there, the doctors can put him on a morphine drip or something.
Blaine started to softly sing Teenage Dream.

Kurt instantly calmed down a little. His eyes were locked on Blaine's. He found peace there
Blaine smiled and continued by singing the chorus.

By the time he was finished, They were at the hospital.
Kurt sighed, relaxing "Thank...love...you"
Jake went to them "Kurt? Blaine? We're here, ok?"
"I love you too Kurt..." Blaine told Kurt, kissing his hand. Blaine looked at Jake. "O-okay.. " He stood up.
Jake nodded and pushed the gurney out of the ambulance. He placed a strong hand over Blaine and Kurt's joined hands to make sure they stayed together as long as possible.
Blaine was still kinda scared to go in the hospital. But he would try anything for Kurt. He'd would just try to stay calm going in the hospital.
Jake drove the gurney inside.
Adam parked his car and ran towards the Hospital.
Blaine managed to stay with Kurt the whole time.
They went as far in as Blaine could follow. Jake looked at his, "Ok. Blaine. You need to let go for a minute or two. I swear, you'll be back with Kurt ASAP."
"B-But I can't let g-go of Kurt, I promised him I w-would stay with him." Blaine told Jake.
Jake sighed "Blaine...you..."
"Just let him go Jake." the receptionist said sweetly "Adam texted that he's on his way in. He can do all the forms and shit. If Kurt has a wish to keep Blaine with him, then for the love of god, just LET him. The poor thing has already been mugged tonight. He needs comfort. I'll do all the special access shit. Here honey." She went up to Blaine and put a special name tag on him. "There. Now you can go back with him."
Jake beamed at her. "Jesa...you ROCK!"
The girl smiled "I know that. Now GO! I'll send Adam and Rachel back when they get here."
"T-Thank you." Blaine told the receptionist, He then went with Kurt and Jake.
They were quickly in an examining room of the ER. Blaine breathed and stayed calm.
Jake saw him and knew. "Nosocomephobia?" Blaine nodded, he had started rubbing his arm nervously.
Jake put a gentle hand on his shoulder "It's ok. Kurt's ok. You're ok."
Kurt was to weak to speak at the moment, but gently squeezed Blaine's hand. Blaine flinched away from Jake.
Jake seemed to sense what had happened. He smiled sadly "Wanna talk to someone who understands?"
Blaine shook his head no. "No... no i don't wanna talk about it anymore. Please don't make me talk about it." Blaine felt his eyes water and he was shaking a little.
Jake shushed him. "Then don't. You don't have to. I was just asking. I'm sorry. Just...know I'm here, ok? I'm a friend...a friend who understands more than you know..."
Kurt listened. He was shocked at what Jake was saying. Sure, he knew about what had happened to Jacob that night. But like Blaine, Jake usually didn't like to talk about it. Not to anyone other than Adam.
Blaine calmed down... He nodded.
Jake bit his lip nervously. He understood more than he wished he did. But that was a conversation for another day. A day when both of them had their boyfriends with them to hold them.
The doctors who had been woking on Kurt finished all they could. They would schedule him for an X-ray later. The blood had been coming from a head wound they had stitched up and a single stabbed wound. It was just barely small enough to escape needing surgery. They got him on a morphine drip. A small concussion had been diagnosed. They'd have to keep him awake for a few more hours to be safe, but he was otherwise fine.
Kurt sighed as the pain slowly left him "Blainey?"
Blaine looked at Kurt. "Yes sweetheart?"
Kurt smiled softly "Nothing. Just...making sure you're still there. Would you...could you call my daddy?"
Blaine nodded. "I should've called him earlier. Do you want me to stay with you while I call him?" Blaine asked.
Kurt nodded weakly "Wanna hear my Daddy's voices. I know...it's pathetic...but I really need to."
Jake smiled "I personally don't think it's pathetic Kurt. I find it adorable actually. Right Blaine?"
Blaine nodded agreeing. "It is." Blaine pulled out his and called Kurt's dad and put it on speaker phone.
"Daddy?" Kurt asked when he heard the phone pick up.
"Hey kiddo, What's going on?" Burt asked calm.
Kurt sniffled slightly "I...I got MUGGED daddy."
"Oh crap. Where are you now? Are you okay right now?" Burt asked worried.
Kurt swallowed "At NYU hospital. I..I'm ok...I think. Just...I'm scared daddy. And...they took EVERYTHING."
Burt was furious but didn't show it in his voice. "Kurt, Do you want me to come up there and see you?" Burt asked. "I'm really worried."
Normally, Kurt would've said no instantly. However, with all that had happened lately with Blaine and himself, things were NOT normal. So instead, he sniffled and nodded yes, a true testament of how bad things had gotten.
"Yes please." he whimpered slightly "I need you dad. WE need you."
"Okay son, I'm gonna get a ticket and fly there as soon as I can. " Burt explained.
Kurt nodded. He relaxed slightly. "Finny?" he asked. He didn't want his step brother to swamp Blaine with questions, but knowing Finn, he'd be to busy freaking over Kurt to remember. Plus, Kurt really wanted the security Finn could provide him.
"You wanna talk to Finn now?" Burt asked.
Kurt swallowed, "Yes please and...when you come...can he come too?"
Kurt loved his father. Still, he couldn't say he wouldnt feel safer with TWO large Lima men at his side than one.
"Of course. I'd think it just be best if everyone came" Burt said. Talking about him. Finn and Carole. "Here's Finn, Kurt." Burt said.
"Hey Kurt." Finn greeted.
Kurt nodded to what his father said. He agreed. He swallowed hard at the sound of Finn's voice, tears coming. "Hi...did...did you hear from when I talked to dad...or do I need to say it again?"
"No, I heard. You don't have to say it again." Finn said
"K-kurt, I'll be right back. I need to g-go get some a-air..." Blaine told Kurt.
Kurt sighed in relief. He didn't know if he'd be able to get it out again. He nodded to Blaine. He knew Blaine was scared too. He'd be back, but he needed to calm down first.
Kurt's voice was shaky. "Finny...I'm scared. I...I never thought...I knew stuff like that happened but..."
Jake watched Blaine go. He hoped BOTH of these scared boys would be ok. Adam was hurrying down the hall towards Kurt's room.
"I know Kurt... It's okay though. Once me, Burt and mom get there everything is going to be okay, I promise." Finn explained. Blaine went outside the hospital to get some air. He saw Rachel but didn't say anything to her. He was so upset, and angry.
Kurt sniffled slightly "Finn...I wanna go home..."
"But what about your job and finishing Nyada?" Finn asked a bit confused.
Kurt sighed "NYADA is closed till further notice due to extensive snow damage. And knowing Isabelle, after this, she is going to DEMAND I take payed vacation or something" He smiled slightly at the thought of his Boss/Friend. "Besides, I was planning on coming home with Blaine anyway. Now...I just have another reason."
"Okay.. well I can't wait for you to come home." Finn said.
Kurt nodded "Same here. I love New York but...right now...it doesn't feel like home. It feels...it feels scary Finn. Big and loud and dark and scary.
"I believe you... I would be scared too if I was in your position. " Finn said.
Kurt swallowed "I never thought I'd say it but...I need LIMA right now. It's smaller and more familliar. All my friends are there. There...I'm safe."
Finn was shocked to hear, 'I need Lima right now' to come out of his voice. "Okay Kurt... Okay." Finn said.
Kurt sighed "I am by NO stretch of the imagination planning to STAY there. Just...I need HOME right now...Lima is where Home is right now. With you and Dad and Carole and Mr Shuester and The New Directions and..god! And even Coach Sylvester! I know we all hate her for the crap she put us through but..."
"Your right about that. But she has tried to help you that one time with Karofsky.." Finn explained.
Kurt nodded "My point exactly. Under all that hardshell...there's something softer that genuinely cares about us..."
Finn nods but remembers that Kurt can't see him. "Yeah.." Finn said agreeing.
Kurt swallowed "I just need you and Dad hear with me. And then...when I get out of here...I need to go HOME."
"Okay we'll make sure that happens. " Finn said.
Kurt sighed "Thanks Finn. " H felt safer just hearing his brother's voice
There was a beep from the phone. "Kurt, the phone's dying, is it okay if I call you when it's charged, I would call you from my cell phone, But I can't find it and I'm pretty sure it's dead by now..." Finn told Kurt.
Kurt sniffled and nodded "Ya. Sure. Just so you know, I'm on Blaine's phone...the muggers took mine..."
"Okay... thanks for letting me know. I'll talk to you soon Kurt. Love you." Finn said and hung up.
Kurt nodded and hung up. He sighed and looked at Jake. "Can I sleep now? I'm tired."
Jake shook his head sadly "Just a little longer Kurt. Want me to go get Blaine or Adam for you?"
Kurt nodded and Jake went to find them.
Glee
"K-kurt, I'll be right back. I need to g-go get some a-air..." Blaine told Kurt.
Blaine went outside the hospital to get some air. He saw Rachel but didn't say anything to her. He was so upset, and angry.
Rachel saw him. Wordlessly, she went to him and wrapped him in a hug. "I know what you're thinking B. I understand what you're feeling. Just let it out."
Blaine let out a sob on the girl's shoulder. "Why do all the bad things have to happen to me and Kurt?" Blaine asked.
Rachel sighed "I don't understand it either Blainey. Sometimes, the worst things happen to the best people. Tests to see how strong we are. And, after all you two have gone through...I'd say you're one of the strongest couples I know."
"Really?" Blaine asked.
Rachel nodded "Really truly. Blaine, strength isn't toughness and pretending thing don't bother you. TRUE strength is sometime admitting that it DOES hurt but not letting that stop you. Keep calm and Carry On?"
Blaine nodded.
Rachel smiled and looked Blaine in the eyes, gently brushing a stray curl from his face. "You are SO brave Blaine. Putting up with your 'Father' for so long...and then the whole thing with Eli...I NEVER wouldve been able to do something like that. Sure, I wish you had told us before so we could save you sooner but...you told us now, and THAT take a whole different level of strength."
"I-Is it bad I thought of suicide?" Blaine asked.
Rachel tensed "Yes and No..."
"I just got tired of the abuse, and I was lonely with out Kurt.. and I wanted to end it all. But then I though about it and... I just didn't do it." Blaine explained to Rachel sadly.
Rachel nodded and pulled him closer. "I understand that. I just wish you didn't have to. and I am SO glad you talked yourself out of it..."
"I'm glad too.." Blaine said.
Rachel held him tight "Blaine...I know you don't like telling people but...have you ever considered seeking help? Like...a consuler? or a support group?
Blaine nodded. "Yes. It was easy talking to you and Kurt about it but whenever I try to talk about it with someone else I freeze and my throat gets dry making it hard to speak." Blaine told Rachel.
Rachel nodded. "Ok. Maybe...start small? You've told Kurt and me. Kurt told Burt for you. You're going to tell Cooper. Maybe next...you could talk to Mrs. Shuester?" She looked at the ground, unsure if Blaine already knew. "Or...maybe to Jake?"
"M-Maybe I'll talk to J-Jake.." Blaine said
Rachel nodded "He's not only a trained proffessional...but he's been there too."
Blaine pulled away and looked at her. "He has?" He asked.
Rachel swallowed and nodded "I'm guessing he offered you help? Think about what he said. Knowing Jake...he at least HINTED at it."
Blaine nodded, "He did..." Blaine said.
Rachel smiled sadly "You'll have to ask Jake for the details. It's not my story to tell. He'll tell you if you ask. "
"I-I know Rach." Blaine said.
Rachel hugged him tightly. "I'm here for you B. We all are."
Jake looked out and saw them. He smiled and waited, not wanting to spoil the moment. He'd already sent Adam in.
Blaine hugged back. "I know. Thank you..." Blaine waited a moment before saying, "We should get back to Kurt." Blaine said.
Rachel nodded "We should."
Jake came out "Good. Because he wants you, and I have been sent to retrieve you "
"Well alrighty then." Blaine said slightly smiling and heading into the hospital with Rachel and Jake.
They walked to Kurt's room.
