Now I would like ask a small favour of my readers if I'm not being as so bold to ask; If you have a spare minute and are into stuff like 'Once upon a time' Or Percy Jackson or Disney etc, then check my profile as I have uploaded a bunch of new stories and are looking for reviews and viewers. Please if you have the time take a look. Enjoy this chapter!
Jamie groaned slightly as he blinked his eyes open and let the morning light course into them. The silk sheets of his bed were just as comfy and embracing, as the pair of arms that were around him, holding him close. His wand rested beneath his pillow next to Russell's. After last night he had felt a whole lot more comfortable with his wand in reach.
He placed his lips against Russell's chest as he whimpered softly. "Jamie? You awake baby?" Russell whispered as his wrapped his arms more tightly around the taller boy. He knew that when Jamie had a nightmare, the boy often preferred afterwards to be held until they were forced to have to go for breakfast or lessons... but there were to be no lessons today. Everybody was preparing for what would be happening later on that day.
Gathering their courage.
Jamie slowly wrapped his legs around Russell's waist giving the silent sign he didn't want to get out of bed. Russell just grinned slightly and kissed the boy's his nose. "We can't stay here all day. They will notice that I'm not in my dorm." Not that they care. He added in his head. But Jamie just looked up to the Latino boy. "Besides you should be practising your defence against the dark arts spells."
In a flash Jamie pulled out his wand from under the pillow and aimed it out the window. He paused for a moment and Russell watched him carefully. Jamie was so on edge lately... It was starting to scare Russell slightly. "Baby?" He ran his hand across the boy's back to try and thaw him from being frozen and tensed. "It's okay. You're safe here."
"Well aren't you two the sweet couple."
Both looked up to see a figure leant in the doorway. He wore a skin tight shirt and usual tight black trousers. "What do you want Parker." Russell growled. He could feel his own hand twitched towards his wand under Jamie's pillow but felt the boy grab his wrist as both sat up.
"I wanted to make sure that Jamie was ready for later... that is if you can tear yourself out of him long enough for him to-"
"STUPEFY!" Jamie roared and watched as Parker went flying back from the doorway against the cold brick walls of the staircase. A both watched, for a moment it almost seemed as though Parker's eyes became pitch black.
"You insolent..." Parker reached for his wand but was stopped as Jamie's cold voice finally took that dark note which sent fear down anyone's spine.
"Don't. I am so much stronger than you." His wand was aimed cleanly at the other boy's throat. "And we both know it. You can never compete with my power."
"Don't be over sure of yourself Jamie." He grinned. "Strange, for a pureblood... you're as low as a mud blood."
"And you? You're nothing more than the run of the pack!" Russell stared in horror as both boy's eyes took the darkest of glares of hatred at each other.
"Ava-"
"Cruc-"
"Stupefy!" Russell roared above the sound of their voices. Hopefully nobody had heard what they were about to say... But Russell wouldn't deny the petty pleasure that he got as he watched when this time Parker crumpled to the floor. Jamie stared wide eyed at the boy before pulling on his boxers and clothes quickly as he could. "Jamie!" Russell called but the boy bolted out the room before Russell was even half changed or even got his boxers back on.. "Damn it, damn it!" He hissed and pulled on his shoes quickly after hastily pulling on some trousers.
"W-What?" Parker groaned but passed out again as Russell ran past and kicked him full force in the face. "You son of a bitch." He hissed before chasing down the steps. He was met with a few snickers as he passed through the common room but he carried on running making a mental note of those people who he would remember at a later time.
All that mattered now was that he made sure Jamie was okay.
He pulled his jumper over his head just as he burst out the dungeons and slammed straight into Jamie as both tumbled to the floor with a crash and let out a long groan.
But this time it was Jamie crouched over him making sure he was all right. "Russell?" Jamie rested his hand on the swelling bump that was growing on the Latino's head. "Damn it..." He pulled out his wand slowly and aimed. "Episky."
"OW!" Russell barked as he felt his wrist click back into place and the lump on his head slowly reduce. He rubbed the spot for a moment before he looked back up to those beautiful eyes above him. "Jamie... What happened back there... those spells you were both about to cast." Jamie turned his head away slightly. "Where did you even hear them?"
"In a dream." He said softly and both locked eyes as a silent understanding came between them... they could not mention what happened there... ever again.
God knows what would happen if anyone did.
Russell slowly stood as he lifted Jamie with him. Over the last couple of years he had sprouted up quite fast. He was a little bit taller than Jamie now "Come on. May as well get something to eat."
"Which table shall we sit at today?" He grinned cheekily. Obviously he was doing his best to try and hide his emotions... why didn't he trust Russell enough to let him in?
"Well... I've already pissed my house off quite a lot." Russell shrugged as he deliberately walked them past the grand hall and out into the courtyard. He suppressed a grin as Jamie began to gaze back towards the hall questioningly but didn't say anything as he took Russell's hand in his own. "Uh... Honey?" Jamie raised an eyebrow but Russell stared at him.
"Honey?!"
"What? You call me baby." Jamie grinned.
"But honey sounds so... so..."
Jamie lent in and brushed his lips against Russell's ears before whispering. "Oh I have a lot more names for you.. but that will have to wait." He span his wand tauntingly before aiming at the chasm which stretched across the chasm towards the dark forest. "Reparo." He grinned as some of the rubble began to organise themselves into a neat runway which began crumbling slowly away, but at a rate which made it safe for them to get across.
"You really got your mind in the gutter haven't you?" Russell chuckled as he followed Jamie in single file. Both boys kept walking till they came to the large slope of the hill which faced back towards the school, giving a perfect sight of both the castle and the expanding lake and hills around it.
"And what's wrong with that?" Jamie said with mock hurt as though he had been offended making Russell grin all the more. "I thought you enjoyed it when my thoughts took that route."
"Yeah but it's kind of not the best idea when we're... Oh I don't know... say in charms and you make my shirt or trousers turn invisible!"
"That only happened once!" Jamie shrugged.
"Oh really? Because I count four times." Russell grinned as slowly he lent down and Jamie laid back in the ground letting his dark locks sprawl out behind him. "Four times I need to get you back for."
"Russell... There's a flying carriage being pulled by Pegasus behind you."
"Don't try and distract me with tricks."
"WATCH OUT!" A voice cried and both boys hit the ground hard as the carriage almost smashed into the ground where there heads had been a few seconds before.
They looked back up as they saw the carriage dragged back into the air by a long line of winged horses. "You would think." Jamie muttered as he rested his weight on his elbows. "That after this long... we wouldn't be surprised by these things."
"You're right." Russell then frowned slightly as he caught sight of a small glint and sparkle from the courtyard... no it must just be his imagination. What wasn't his imagination was when he heard a faint growling. "What was that?" He looked around to see if he had missed something. Jamie slowly blushed as he muttered. "That was my stomach.." Russell frowned at himself as he had forgot why the two of them were even here.
"I really can't believe I'm about to do this." He muttered but span his wand over his head before everything around them slowly began to slip away into a dark small room.
Jamie frowned slightly as he looked around for any sign of anyone. "Russell! You've been learning illusion spells again haven't you!" He squinted his eyes as a the end of the room a small light came into a view as it began to hop over what looked like a long, stretched mahogany table.
A smile slowly crept onto his face. "Russell? You haven't?" His eyes sparkled with amusement as he looked down at himself in black trousers, a pearl white shirt and blue jacket.
As the light came closer it slowly took on the the figure of Russell in a fitted suit as he seemed to almost glow with light.
But as he reached out and gently took Jamie's hand. The illusion fractured and faded back to both boys sat back on the grass. "Damn it." Russell muttered. "It still needs a bit of work."
"You did that... for me?" Jamie's eyes were wide with surprise and it made Russell sad slightly to see such a gaze of surprise.
"Of course, and do you know why?"
"Why?"
"Because Jamie Riddle." Jamie blushed at the way the boy said his name so slowly and perfectly with his satin voice. "And I'm going to say it until you get it into that thick skull of yours." He tapped Jamie's nose lightly as he smiled gently. "I. Love. You."
A silence passed between them. "Jamie?" Russell down to the boy who was staring blankly at him. "I shouldn't have said that. It's what ruined yours and Parker friend ship... I shouldn't have-"
"Russell?"
"Yeah?" He whispered and stared down at those pale orbs.
"Shut up." Jamie muttered and crashed their lips together as he wound his arms around Russell neck and pulled him down.
"Care to break yourselves apart now?"
Both blinked for a moment as they found themselves pushed up against the doors of the great hall.
Those who were in the hall who had an angle view were staring as though the sky had dropped... those who were in the hallway were looking at them with a mixture of surprise, slight interest... and those who had been pushing the two boys together for a while were fan girling at the sight.
There was only one person who was glaring at them.
Jamie turned and screamed as he lunged. "PARKER! NEVER! CAST! A FUCKING ILLUSION SPELL ON ME EVER AGAIN!" Russell would have gone forward but most in the hall had begun screaming and cheering both boys as they punched and fought against each other, the ever constant "FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT." Cheer rang out across the hallway.
Russell just thought back to how they could have been caught in the trap of that spell... That sparkle in the courtyard.
How had Parker been able to manage a spell like that from that far away!
Parker screamed as Jamie clawed relentlessly at his face but was eventually broken apart as Russell grabbed Jamie while another boy with golden hair and dark eyes grabbed Parker... hang on. Russell watched the boy carefully. Wasn't that... "Let me go Scorpio!" Parker snapped as he pushed the boy off him and turned before storming off to go get his face cleared.
Everyone in the hall quickly turned back towards the front as the teachers began to file in. Russell guided Jamie to a seat at his house table but the boy shrugged him off as he walked over to Scorpio who put an arm around his shoulder comfortingly before shooting a smug smile over his shoulder to Russell who began to turn red with anger. Get... Your... Malfoy... Claws... Off... My... Jamie. His thoughts snarled relentlessly. "And now everyone!"
Heads snapped towards the front as they watched a tall dressed woman slowly walk into with a large jewelled tower of boxes carried in behind her. "We have an announcement. This year, Hogwarts will once again be home to one of the greatest wizarding events known to us." Her golden hair cascaded down her shoulders and her black eyes glinted excitedly.
Russell frowned slightly as he looked at the towering case. The beautiful jewels that elegantly moved across it.
Why did it look so familiar?
As he looked over to Jamie's table Scorpio was whispering to him quickly and comfortingly and Russell could understand why.
Jamie had turned as pale as a sheet of paper.
Russell slowly turned back towards the headmistress who slowly raised her wand and began to gently draw it down the tower which responded to the touch by melting slowly into a puddle and vanishing. "All that gold and jewels..." A few of the people on his table muttered after making him roll his eyes. He didn't care about the stupid jewels or the gold.
He had more than enough in his vaults.
Was his eyes were locked on were the ancient goblet which rested on a pedestal. "No... they can't possibly be thinking of actually doing this?!" He hissed and a few of his house mates grinned as they looked at him.
"What? Scared?"
"Hogwarts will proudly welcome this year two other schools." The sound of marching echoes from the courtyard and Russell frowned slightly as he gazed towards the double oak doors. "From the wizarding schools in Greece we welcome the girls from the Hecate academy of light and dark magic-"
Everyone stopped as the ceiling erupted into lightning and all the lights in the room fade. Screams echoed around the room as the lightning soon turned pitch black leaving the only light, the pale moonlight outside.
But every student watched as the lightning smashed onto the table slowly changing into the figure of a girl. Students backed away slightly but were soon put at ease as the lightning dissipated... though not for long.
The darkness began to swirl around the roof in a thick mist, with every movement came the soft song which drew most of the boy and even some of the girls to their feet.
It was a relief when the song faded and light exploded across the candles while more figures seemed to dance out of the light of candle fire and into the middle of the hall where they twirled around the girls who had come from the dark lightning. All bowed as a tall woman formed out of the mixture of the two and took the hand of the mistress before being escorted to her seat at the head table.
Not many students knew what to do so they clapped nervously after witnessing the display.
The mistress nodded happily. "Yes yes, what a magnificent display! Now all the way from Fairytale academy of travelling students-"
"What does she mean travelling students?" Whispered a girl next to Russell and he stared at his headmistress in a slight horror before he whispered.
"They travel from country to country all year around. They never stay in one place." He watched as slowly some students wearing black came in carrying a large glass casket between them. "Mirror mirror on the wall... who is the fairest of them all." A girl with long silver hair battered her eyes at the students before she flipped back from the casket and landed in a crouch.
The glass cracked and as each shard fell it took the shape of a student who rose from their crouch holding an burning apple in their palm. As they raised it up a sweet green fume began to rise from it as the apples turned to ash. All the students screamed as the fumes took on the shape of a large dragon which swooped down and smashed into the ground before changing to the figure of a man who wore a deep emerald collar shirt and tight leather trousers... he barely looked past twenty five!
Russell frowned slightly as he watched the other man get escorted to his seat. Both of these schools had a famous reputation. The Hecate Academy had were famous for their use and separation of those on the basis of whether they were better at light or dark magic... but that said. The traveller Academy... they were a very themed school, they stick mainly to magic which would be afforded in Fairy tales.
And these fairy tales certainly aren't any Disney show for people to watch.
The headmistress smiled coldly as she turned back to the main school. "Over the course of this year, this school will host something very special."
"Please don't." Russell whispered.
"Something that has not been allowed for almost the last ten years."
"It just can't be!" Jamie whispered with tears in his eyes.
"The triwizard cup!"
Both boys stared in horror as the goblet ignited in a blue flames beforea circle of light made it's way around it. "Anyone over the age of sixteen wishing to enter may do so. But be warned. This isn't for the faint of hearted-"
Everyone stopped as slowly all eyes locked onto Parker who had stood up and began to walk towards the goblet. In one quick move he dropped a piece of paper into the flames and everyone stared slightly in horror and slightly in awe. "If no one else is man enough to get this started-"
Russell felt his heart almost stop in agony as he watched Jamie walk over to the goblet. JAMIE NO! His thoughts screamed out. "Hey isn't that-" The girl next to him stopped as she watched Russell turning rapidly pale. "Hey.. It's okay." She placed an hand on his arm. "Russell it's okay." He whispered comfortingly.
But it wasn't.
Russell watched as Jamie squared up next to Parker and glared darkly into his eyes.
The fact he said nothing was what made it as colder when the boy slowly reached up and threw a piece of paper with his name into the goblet fire. "No." Russell hissed and walked up. Even if it's just my name... it makes the odds of his name being drawn even the less of a possibility. He scribbled his name quickly onto a piece of paper and threw it into the fire.
Not even glancing at Jamie or Parker as he did so. Jamie... what are you doing. He thought as his table erupted into a roar of applause.
All the while he slowly turned to face Jamie. His gaze of betrayal was evident in his eyes as he looked through his Boy friend.
All he could say was. "What were you thinking?" Before he turned and sat down back on the bench.
Now... now he just had to wait.
So end of another chapter. I hope you guys liked it. The next chapter will include getting to know some of the characters from the other school. Will Jamie and Russell's relationship be tested by Jamie putting his name in the goblet?
And most importantly.
Which names will be drawn from the goblet of fire.
Find out next time.
