Chapter 26: Zenith

It couldn't have been a more beautiful summer day as Cindy sat on the window seat, holding Alexander in her arms. Her little son, who was going on two months, cooed happily at the warmth of the sun streaming through the window and at his mother who was cooing at him in return. She couldn't help but giggle as her son giggled, causing the blue-eyed boy to giggle even more.

She had been unsure for the longest time if she was ever meant to be a mother, especially considering her own mother's parenting techniques. But as the days flew by, she had never been happier with her little family of three. She loved being a mother and seeing her son smile and reach for her when she walked into the room made her glow. The city had been more than willing to let her take some extra maternity leave. She was on her last week and would go back to the office on Monday, taking Alex with her to the adjoining city day care. But for now however, she was enjoying her mother-son time, and had a yearning for the two of them to get out and enjoy the nice day.

"What do you think Alex?" She asked her son. "Should we go on a fieldtrip?" Taking her son's giggle as a yes, she smiled. "Where should we go? The zoo?" Nothing. "The park?" No. Suddenly, an idea hit her. "Should we go visit daddy?" At the mention of the last word, her son brought his hands to his mouth and cooed and his mother laughed. "Alright. Daddy it is!"

She carefully adjusted Alex's blanket in the basket before she walked across the lobby of NeuCo. Thankfully, she had not run into any paparazzi on her way out of their penthouse. Everyone it seemed wanted a look at their baby and her inner Momma Bear came out whenever anyone she didn't know came to close. While her and Jimmy had accepted the fact that they would have to, eventually, pose for some sort of tabloid spread with their son, they were waiting until he was a little older. She wasn't ready to share him with the world yet. The lobby was thankfully empty minus a few security guards who waved at her.

"Cindy!" Lisa cried as she came into view. "Oh my goodness how are you dear!" The secretary got out of her chair to hug the blonde before turning her gaze to the bassinette. "Oh my, is this-?"

Cindy smiled as she removed Alex's blanket and took him out of his carrier. His blue eyes darted back and forth as he took in his new surroundings but being in his mother's arms, he seemed willing to accept it. "We decided to get out of the house," Cindy explained as Lisa gushed over the baby.

"Mr. Neutron? You have two very cute visitors waiting for you at the front desk!" Lisa hung up the phone and moved closer to look at Alex. "Oh goodness, he is so adorable!" She cried as she gently touched his hand with her pinky.

Both women looked up as voices and footsteps came down the hall. Jimmy rounded the corner, flanked by Jack and Derek, and promptly burst into a grin at the sight of his wife and son. "Field trip?" He asked as he reached for Alex, who gladly went to his father.

"Of sorts," Cindy agreed as she watched her husband hold Alex as the other two men commented on how strong he was going to be. "Needed to get out of the house."

"Want me to hold your calls, Mr. Neutron?" Lisa asked.

"If you wouldn't mind." Jimmy agreed as he shifted Alex to one arm and offered his other to his wife. "I don't need everybody out here gawking so I'll take them back to my office." The family of three walked back, but seemed to be stopped every step or so by someone who wanted to get a closer look at Alexander. When they finally managed to get back to his office, NeuCo's CEO, firmly shut the door and collapsed onto his couch with his son, who was intently watching his father and would quickly break into a gummy mouthed grin when Jimmy would look at him. "Aren't you in a wonderful mood!" He commented to Alex who grinned again as his father laughed.

Cindy hadn't been at all shocked by how good of a father Jimmy had turned out to be. Much like the rest of his life, he could succeed at whatever he put his mind to and he was determined to be an excellent father, not to mention the fact that he had such wonderful parents himself. He was willing to take over her duties when she got home so she could have a few moments to herself and all it took was her nudging his leg with her foot when Alexander woke up crying in the middle of the night for him to go and check on their son himself. Now, watching the two of them, she found herself so overwhelmed with a sense of love and family that she walked over to kiss both of them on the top of their heads.

Keeping Alex securely in the crook of his arm, Jimmy reached up with his other hand so he could pull his wife down for another, longer, kiss. Both were smiling when they pulled back. "I like it when you visit."

His wife laughed. "I'm sure you do. Because you certainly don't get enough people fawning over you and giving you attention here."

"But-"he corrected as he kissed her again, "This is a totally different kind of attention. And a lot better."

"Ah." Was her only response as he scooted over to make room for her on the couch. She curled up to his side and looked over at her son, asleep in Jimmy's arm. "Seems like a good plan," She said as she yawned.

"Go ahead. My afternoons clear." Jimmy said as rested her head on his chest. "By the way, mom and dad said they could come up next weekend."

"Really? Oh that would be wonderful."

"I'll send the jet for them Thursday afternoon. Obviously, the already miss their grandson and I figured you could use some sleep. And maybe after you rested up a bit-"He trailed off as his hand moved down to her arse.

"I told you that we're not having another baby until Alex is at least a year." Cindy grumbled as she buried her face against his shirt.

He laughed. "I did say after you had rested up a bit."

There's a new arrival in the NeuCo family!

James Neutron, NeuCo's CEO, and his wife Cindy Neutron welcomed a daughter, Selene Marie Neutron, on Thursday, Jan. 15, their reps confirms to PEOPLE.

She weighed in at 7 lbs., 13 oz., and was 20 inches long.

Their new daughter joins her brother, Alexander Neutron, age 3, making the jet-setting family a happy family of four. Congratulations on the new arrival!

A/N: It's so sad to think that this is the last chapter! Thank you all for joining me on this amazing ride, it's been incredible! Thank you to everyone who reviewed, favorite, or followed this story! Maybe I'll revisit the Neutron's again, who knows!

And as a bonus, the first person who can tell me what famous parents also named their children Selene and Alexander (hence the inspiration here!) I will write a special Jimmy Neutron one-shot of their choosing!

Thanks again everyone! I hope to see you all soon!
