Asuna crawled out of the tent she had no idea what time it was. As she focused her vision upwards to her HUD she saw it was nearly midnight, she had been asleep for nearly three hours. She looked around the campsite looking for Kirito. When she finally found him he was wide awake to her right. She jumped when she saw how close he had been.

"W-w-what are you doing Kirito?" Asuna stuttered.

Kirito gave a slight chuckle "I'm protecting you like I said I would."

Asuna just looked at him remembering the events of the previous day. She nodded and got completely out of the tent stretching as she stood.

"So what are the plans for today?" Asuna asked with a slight yawn.

"Well," Kirito said with a sly grin appearing on his face "first you will make breakfast then I will pack up the tent and we will move on to the next town"

"Why should I have to cook for you?" Asuna said with a huff.

"Because according to you I am a terrible cook."

Asuna looked at him and gave a slight nod when she remembered the food from the night before. She had to fight back the urge to puke up his cooking.

Soon she had the fire started and began to cook the food. Kirito decided to take a nap, due to his lack of sleep from the night before. Asuna looked at his sleeping form and started to feel her heart racing as it had the night before.

"Why do I feel like this when he is around." she said out loud without such an intention.

He began to stir in his sleep and Asuna covered her mouth in a pointless attempt to silence what she had said. When he rolled back onto his side she let out a sigh of relief glad he didn't wake up knowing what she had said.

What does she mean by that? Kirito thought as he pretended to continue to sleep.

About twenty minutes later Kirito was in a deep sleep when he felt something kick him.

"Ow! Why the hell did you kick me?" he yelled at Asuna.

"The food is ready" she said with a slight smile.

"That doesn't mean you have to kick me dammit."

"What else was I supposed to do to wake you up?"

"You could have just called my name"

"But where is the fun in that?"

After about five minutes of arguing Kirito gave up and went to get something to eat. When he tasted the food Asuna had prepared he stopped.

"What's the matter," Asuna asked with a slight frown "is it not good?"

"Good," Kirito said with a childlike grin "this is the best food I've had since we all got trapped in this place!"

A smile began to grow on her face. She tried to hide it by putting her bowl to her face and shoving rice into her mouth.

Great now I look like a pig she thought as she swallowed the food choking a bit.

They ate the rest of their meal in silence. When they were finished Asuna put all of the cook ware into her inventory knowing she would need it later. When she was finished she looked over at Kirito only to find him asleep again.

She knelt down beside him and watched his sleeping form. Yet again she felt her heart start to race. However this time she ignored it not wanting to risk him hearing her say anything about it.

He actually looks kind of cute when he is asleep, almost like a little kid she said in her head it makes me wonder how old he is.

As she sat looking at his sleeping form she soon stopped thinking all together. And as if upon instinct began to lean towards his face. As she slowly leaned down she began to close her eyes. She stopped when she heard someone laughing not far from her.

She sat there frozen in place she slowly reached for her sword. But then she realized her sword was still in the tent.

"Well what do we have here," the stranger's voice sounded light hearted "I guess Kirito found himself a girlfriend."

Asuna turned to see about six men standing there. Although the one talking seemed to stick out a bit more than the rest of the men. He was in his early twenties with red spikey hair and a katana at his hip.

The sound of someone talking woke Kirito up right away. He looked over to see his only friend in this world Klein. He gave a smile as he stood up but it quickly vanished when he looked at where Asuna was sitting.

"Why were you so close to me while I was asleep, Asuna?" Kirito asked.

"W-well y-you see I was uh… uh" she stammered.

"Actually never mind," Kirito said his smile returning "I want to introduce you to someone this is Klein the one person I can talk to without getting yelled at."

"Nice to meet you," Asuna said bowing "and what do you mean by that."

"Nothing …." Kirito said turning back to Klein.

"So Kirito," Klein said beginning to grin "when did you meet your new cute girlfriend?"

"She is not my girlfriend just a traveling companion."

"I don't know you two looked pretty close when I walked up."

Kirito gave him a dumbfounded look not knowing what he was talking about. Asuna just blushed and walked to the tent without saying a word.

"Klein I'm confused," Kirito began after a moment of silence "what did you mean by that."

"Uh I don't think I should tell you right now," Klein replied as he began to walk off "Maybe you can get her to tell you."

Kirito stood still for several minutes after Klein left. While he was standing there he noticed it was about two in the morning. He started to walk back to the tent to get out of the cold. When he was almost to the tent he started to fall asleep standing up. He crawled into the tent and immediately fell asleep.
