It's been one month since CJ had left Mordecai, he was extremely depressed but now he was getting over it. He finally left his room, struggling to get downstairs in crutches. When he got downstairs he sat on the lounge and flicked the TV on. A few minutes later Rigby walked in with a bowl of cereal and toast. "Oh, hey Mordecai, you're up! Well I was just bringing this up to you" he said as he handed Mordecai the plate with toast. He sat down next to him as Mordecai started eating the toast, when Rigby noticed he was depressed. "Hey man, you look a little dumpy, how's about I call CJ, I'm sure she's been worried sick about ya!" he said, earning a groan from Mordecai. Rigby was confused, "What I say"? Mordecai face-palmed, and sighed "Well… it's just… CJ broke up with me". When Rigby heard about this, he started choking on his cereal and said, "What! When did that happen?" "A month ago in the hospitable, she said she can't stand me getting hurt all the time," he explained. After an awkward silence, Rigby was the first to talk; "I'm sorry man… hey maybe when you get over it you can ask Margaret out, hum, hm"? Mordecai sighed, "No… I think I've moved on with Margaret". After finishing breakfast Rigby left his friend be and went to work.
It's been two months now since that car had hit Mordecai; he no longer was in crutches and just wore casts on his wing and leg. He started showing up for work again but Benson was giving him the easier jobs since he was still a little hurt. He was back to his normal self since he got over breaking up with CJ. For their lunch break, Mordecai and Rigby went to Cheezers' to get a grilled cheese deluxe. As they sat in their booth talking, a girls' voice asked, "Um, excuse me, I was wondering if you could help me?" "Yeah sure" Mordecai said. When he saw whom the voice belonged to, his eyes grew two sizes and his beak parted. The girl was a Blue Jay like him, with soft blonde hair and brown eyes. She seemed like the same age as him. She then asked, "I was wondering if you could give me directions to Mallard Park"? 'Her voice is like an angels'… wait did she say Mallard Park!' Mordecai thought, obviously love-struck. "Yeah, we work their; we could drive you there on our way back" Mordecai said. "Cool, can I meet you outside when you're done here" she said.
When she left, Mordecai started to leave to pay for lunch when Rigby said, "You like her, don't you"? Mordecai replied, "What! No I don't" "Oh come on dude, I've seen how you were with Margaret and CJ, it's too obvious now!" Rigby retorted. Mordecai then broke eye contact and started to walk to the counter, when Rigby stopped him again. "Dude ask her out, she's perfect for you: you both seem the same age, from what she was wearing she lives video games and your both Blue Jays!" Rigby said. Mordecai pays for lunch and started to leave before he saw the girl outside and said to Rigby, "Maybe you're right, I guess I will ask her out once we drop her off". They walked over to the girl, "You ready, um…" said Mordecai, trying to remember her name. She then face-palmed and said "Sorry, my name is Raychel, yeah I'm ready to go". Mordecai thought, 'Raychel… what a beautiful name'. "Cool, well follow us" Mordecai said as he and Rigby walked Raychel to the cart. As they got in, Raychel asked, "Thanks, um…" not knowing their names. Mordecai introduced himself, "Oh, this is my friend Rigby and I'm Mordecai".
