After a while of sailing, they reached a path where everything seemed to deteriorate to a crisp. They followed the path and ended up in a field where absolutely everything was burned to ashes. At the far end, was Mount Gulg.

"Well, I guess we're here." Leon said.

"Hey...everything alright?" Erick said, noticing how both Saria and Leon were trembling slightly and how they seemed a little dazed at the scene around them. Claude frowned as they didn't answer and both Erick and Ailith became worried. They rushed up to Leon and Saria, who were looking around with terrified eyes.

"Hey, Leon! What's wrong!? C'mon buddy answer me! Leon? Leon!? SNAAKKEEE!" Erick yelled and caught the attention of both Saria and Leon again, snapping them out of their daze.

"Wh...What the hell is wrong with you?" Leon asked and Erick laughed.

"Cool it worked." Erick said calmly and they moved on. Something however, seemed very off about the way Leon and Saria were acting.

~ A while after ~

The Warriors reached a trench that went deep down and saw a huge crystal at the very end as well as something that was hunched over below it. They all looked and nodded at Leon, who was the one to jump down first. Claude used a defensive spell that put a barrier over Leon so that he wouldn't be harmed when landing. There was a loud crash and Leon was fine, however the being didn't wake and simply stayed hunched over, breathing deeply. The rest followed after Leon and met up with him.

Then, much to their surprise the being rose up, revealing her towering height. She had the upper body of a fine, yet muscular woman, the lower body of a snake, multiple arms that had a sword in each one, and her hair was unkept yet only added to her intimidating allure. Leon and Saria's eyes grew wide as they noticed her familiar figure.

"YOU!" Leon said, his eyes burning with anger. Saria stayed by his side, eyes full of anger as well.

"Hmph. Warriors of Light, welcome. I am Marilith, the Fiend of Fire. I commend you, Warriors of Light for being able to slay my dearest brother, Lich. However...because of that, I will not let you go so easily. I'll make you pay for what you've done to my dearest brother. I'll make you realize just how gentle hell is!" She said, and all of her swords suddenly lit up with fire. The Warriors readied themselves but much to their surprise Ailith, Erick, and Claude found themselves in a burning city. To Leon and Saria however, this was more than a nightmare. It was a horrid memory.

Saria and Leon froze as they looked around them. The searing flames engulfing their entire home, the smell of burning flesh, the sound of screams and cries for help as they stood there, unable to do anything. Oh, it was all too familiar. Saria and Leon were unable to move and were frozen in fear, trembling. Great balls of fire rained down on the entire city and waves of flames were sent the city's way. Then, among the many screams, they heard a familiar cry. They slowly turned and looked to see their parents trapped in a building, screaming for them to get away.

"Leon! Saria! Get out of here! Get out of here! Ahh! AAHHH!" They screamed and Leon and Saria could only watch, frozen in fear as their parents burned to death.

"You bitch." Claude said and charged at her, running his hand on his sword as the engravings lit up. Marilith smiled and blocked every attack with her multiple arms.

"Leon! Leon c'mon! Get a hold of yourself!" Erick said and moved Saria out of the way of a falling piece of burning building. Neither Erick nor Ailith were able to get Saria or Leon to move at all, they just stood there, paralyzed.

"Ahahaha!" Marilith laughed, seeing the both of them trapped in a painful memory. Claude only attacked her, relentlessly and ferociously slashing.

"What the hell is wrong with you!? Using their own traumas against them like that!" Claude yelled, becoming so angry that Marilith became shocked. Just as he slashed at her and she blocked, Claude's sword slashed through her own, breaking it. Marilith found herself unable to move for a split second, before Claude's blade found it's way to a sword that blocked it, inches away from Marilith's face. She slithered away and trembled, her ragged and unruly hair covering most of her face. Marilith began trembling and her swords lit up with blue, searing flames. However, it seemed that Claude's glare was even more intense than the flames themselves...

"H...How dare you...DO THIS TO MY WEAPONS!" She roared and the flames on her swords blazed with blue light so intense it began to melt the ground beneath her. Marilith charged towards him, and slashed, the flames melting away the stone underneath them.

"Ailith! Erick! Get Leon and Saria to somewhere safe! We'll have to go on without them." Claude yelled and both of them nodded, grabbing their comrades and laying them somewhere far from the battlefield. Claude blocked her attack and, much to her surprise, Marilith was sent flying the opposite direction from him. Smashing on the wall of stone and gravel behind her, she quickly regained her strength. So focused on Claude she charged forward and was hit in the stomach by Ailith, sending her flying again. Just as soon as she recovered, Marilith sent several huge fireballs towards the ceiling. The ceiling exploded and huge boulders fell the Warrior's way. Erick began throwing balls of energy at them and Ailith began breaking each one coming her way. Claude however, knew this was only a distraction, and focused on the weakened Marilith.

"Leon..." Saria said, tears forming in her eyes and streaming down her face as she began to hug her brother. The searing flames around them only seemed to get brighter and hotter as everything around them, their entire homeland, was engulfed. Leon hugged Saria and trembled, watching everyone he knew and loved burn. The screams raged on and didn't stop. As a matter of fact, they only grew louder and louder until...there was silence. Silence and nothing but the sound of flames crackling, and the horrid stench of burning flesh. They heard footsteps and saw something in the distance, the silhouette of a woman with multiple arms and a sword in each one...
