17. chapter

Alec placed the box on his bed and stared at it. He had wanted to open it the entire trip home but Izzy had made him promise not to. Also he didn't want to miss the surprise when he opened it with Magnus, but he had to admit he was very curious to see what he had hidden in it. He starred at his clock, it had been 5 hours ago he had said goodbye to Magnus and 3 hours ago he said goodbye to Izzy. It was to many goodbyes, and he felt like crying. He really wanted Izzy to stay one more day, just one more, so they could talk and hang out. She was the only one that could steady him and made him breath properly.

Also he couldn't call Magnus or anything, he was properly still in the air and he was 6 hours ahead, meaning it was around 8 pm for him now. Stupid time difference. He pushed the box away and sighed and was about to lay down when the door burst open.

"There you are!" Jace smiled and closed the door behind him. Alec blinked and sat up looking at his friend. Jace's golden and always neat hair was messy and sticky. He walked towards his closet and started to strip.

"What are you doing?" Alec asked and couldn't help but let his eyes dance over Jace's perfect toned body, glistening in sweat. He blushed and looked away, knowing what he did was wrong.

"Changing," he said and grabbed a pair of old jeans. "And then I'm taking you out."

"I don't want to go out," Alec mumbled and tugged at his shirt. "I want to stay here and-"

"- jerk off and being a pathetic school boy with a stupid crush," Jace finished and grinned at Alec as he pulled a dark green t-shirt over his head. "Izzy called me and told me about Magnus. Therefore you and me are going to hang out for the next 4 days. I'm not letting you stay in your room, feeling miserable. It's stupid and a waste of life." Alec couldn't help but smile and bit the inside of his cheeks. He really wanted to stay home so he was sure he would get Magnus's text. But he also felt ridiculous because it was not like they had broken up, they just parted ways, or kilometers for 4 days. He should be able to go out and enjoy life, being a 19 year old teenager after all. He was suppose to go out and have fun, and it was not like he still couldn't keep in touch with Magnus.

"Okay, were are we going?" Alec asked and jumped out of his bed. Jace smiled and flattened out his hair as good as he could.

"Somewhere we can drown all of your patheticness."

"Oh my god!" Alec yelled and slammed the glass down against the table. "Shit, Jace. How did you get me to do this?"

"The power of tequila my friend," Jace said and swayed a glass in front him. "Now bottoms up." Alec grimed but took one nonetheless. He tipped the glass against his lips and let the water looking liquid tip down his throat. It tasted sour and funnily enough, sweet.

"It aint that bad," Alec said and licked his lips.

"It aint that bad after the fourth glass," Jace said and giggled. Alec raised an eyebrow and burst out laughing. He had never heard Jace giggle let enough let out a sound that sounded anywhere near hysteria of laughing. His giggle choked on the next shot of tequila and he burst out laughing.

Jace had taken him down to the nearest bar and ordered 20 tequila shots. They each took one when they told stories on how pathetic they had been. And apparently there were a lot of stories to be told because they were getting closer and closer to 20.

"My head is spinning," Alec said and rolled his head around and around. "Literally."

"Then stop spinning," Jace said and laughed and grabbed Alec's head, but Alec kept spinning. "Stop!" Alec stopped and glanced at Jace and smiled.

"My head feels like meatballs," Alec said and glanced down at the filled up glasses.

"Okay, you've had enough," Jace said and removed the glasses from Alec's reach. Alec pouted and leaned over the counter. It was nice hanging out with Jace like this, except the getting drunk part. It had been awhile since Alec had hung out with Jace, just alone. There was always someone else or something in the way for them just hanging out like best friends.

Alec remembered when they got older and started to camp outside their house. They would sit up all night with their flashlights, talking about everything. Their favorite action hero, movie and what girls they liked. Alec remembered that Jace told him he had a crush on this girl called Becky. He remembers her because he was mean to her, way to mean. He was jealous that Jace had a crush on her, and that he liked her big boobs and pretty blond ponytails. So Alec as the stupid 14 year old he was, put gum in her ponytails and she had to cut it short. And Jace didn't like shorthaired girls back then, so no more Becky. He had felt bad about that ever since. In fact he felt bad about even having a crush on Jace, because it was so wrong. He was Alec's best friend and like a brother, and he had a sick crush on him. But who wouldn't have a crush on Jace, he was beautiful and when you got under his skin he was actually a pretty decent guy.

"Hey, erm, can I tell you something," Alec mumbled and looked away from Jace. "You know when I came out, right?"

"Sure. You were 18 and we were on our road trip," Jace said. "It was no big surprise though."

"I need to tell you something else," Alec said and nibbled his bottom lip. "I sort of had a crush on you when we were little. I-" He took a deep breath and got the courage to look at Jace. "- I liked you more than a friend. I noticed when we got older and talked about girls. I was never interested and I got so jealous when you talked about the girls you had crushes on. Remember Becky?" Jace nodded numbly and kept staring.

"I put gum in her ponytails so she had to cut them off. You said you loved her long blonde locks so I figured if she didn't have them anymore you would forget about her. And you did," Alec couldn't help but laugh nervously. He really hoped Jace wouldn't hate him or look at him like he was some jealous psycho. "I had a stupid school boy crush and I'm sorry." Jace blinked and his eyes glanced down and Alec couldn't help but blush when he noticed he was staring at his lips.

"You-" Jace pointed his finger against Alec's chest. "- had a crush on me?"

"That's what I said," Alec said and narrowed his eyes.

"Wow," Jace moaned and grabbed onto Alec's face and smashed his lips hard against them. Alec moaned in surprise and his blue eyes widened in surprise. Jace's lips were soft and so experienced. He opened his mouth wider against Alec's and his tongue dipped in. Alec grabbed onto Jace's shoulders and tried to push him away, but his fingers were clawed into Alec's skin, holding him in place. Jace made one last lick and pulled away with a smack.

"Holy shit," Jace said. "I never thought kissing a guy would be so soft."

"What the fuck, Jace!" Alec yelped and moved away. "Why did you do that?"

"You said you had a crush on me," Jace said and shrugged. "Just wanted to make sure you still didn't."

"Duh, no!" Alec said and sighed. "I'm with Magnus now you fucking-" Alec growled and touched his stomach. "- I don't have a crush on you anymore."

"Good," Jace said and took another shot. "Because that was nasty. Though a pretty good kiss."

"Stop it," Alec mumbled and glanced around in the bar. He noticed people were looking at them and when he made eye contact, they looked away and whispered. Arrogant assholes. "Please just, please-" Alec begged. "- You're not mad?"

"I just kissed you," Jace said and raised an eyebrow. "I'm not mad. I sort of knew you liked me. The way you looked at me and touched me whenever you could. It was cute. I didn't say anything because you're my friend. I waited for you and if you ever crossed my line I would punch you." Alec couldn't help but laugh and shook his head.

"Well, at least I got it out," Alec said and circulated his finger on the surface of one of the glasses. "I'm glad I told you."

"Me too," Jace said and grabbed a glass. "Now, my gay brother. Take a shot with me, you got to be good at that." Alec snorted but took a shot anyway. He grimed and touched his stomach again. It was like a rollercoaster in there, going up slowly and dropping fast. It growled and Alec was on his feet before Jace even noticed what was going on. He ran out on the street, into an alley, and puked his guts out. He leaned against the wall with one hand and felt his stomach turn as he hurled it all out. He moaned and dried his mouth with his sleeve. The puke made him want to puke again. He turned away and walked towards the other wall and slid down.

"This is even more pathetic," he mumbled and gulped and took a deep breath. There was an odd sound in the distance like bees and Alec thought for sure he was loosing his mind when he noticed it was his phone. He fumbled for it and it slid across the asphalt and he leaned down against the ground and flipped his phone open.

"He-hello?"

"Alec? Are you there?"

"Shit," Alec mumbled and leaned up on his elbows and fell back against the wall. "Yeah, I'm here. Who is this?"

"Your boyfriend."

"Magnus?" Alec said and his eyes widened.

"Unless you have other boyfriends then yeah, it's Magnus," the voice laughed and Alec couldn't help but smile. "If you do though we seriously need to talk."

"Oh god, it's so good to hear your voice."

"I'm sorry I couldn't call earlier," Magnus said and yawned. "Lilac was just so hysterical and we had to find a place to eat. And Camille was too eager and Lilac freaked out so I had to get her to sleep. And it took around 2 hours."

"I'm sorry babe," Alec said and rubbed his temples. "You must be tired."

"Is it that obvious?" Magnus yawned while he laughed. "It's 2 at night over here. I prepared myself for being totally jetlagged, but Lilac got me on Paris time."

"Y- you should go to sleep," Alec said, not exactly wanting Magnus to leave. He wanted to talk to him all night, but he could hear how exhausted Magnus was. "Get some sleep. We can talk tomorrow."

"Okay," Magnus mumbled and it sounded like he was already half a-sleep. "I just wanted to talk to you. Tell you how much I miss you and love you." Alec smiled and couldn't help but blush.

"Same here," Alec said and listened to Magnus's husky breath and how obvious it was he was almost sleeping. Alec could see him in front of him, on French silk sheets and in a big bed, lying on top of it in his cute colorful underwear. His golden eyes closed and his mouth half open, almost begging for a goodbye kiss. Alec really wanted to give him a goodnight kiss. So he made smooching sounds and he heard Magnus chuckle.

"What was that?"

"A kiss," Alec mumbled. "A goodnight kiss."

"I wish I could kiss you too," Magnus mumbled.

"I already got my goodnight kiss."

"What?" Magnus asked and snorted.

"I told Jace about my school boy crush on him, and how I destroyed his girl crushes," Alec said and he heard Magnus laugh. "And then he kissed me."

"That better be the last kiss he will ever get," Magnus moaned. "No more kissing Jace."

"Simon then?"

"No kissing any other boys," Magnus said. "Or girls. Just clearing any option you might have."

"Okay," Alec said and smiled.

"Okay."

"Don't go all The fault in our stars on me," Alec said and tried to sound serious.

"Okay," Magnus said and giggled.

"Talk tomorrow?"

"Okay," Magnus said and Alec could see him biting his bottom lip, trying to hold back a laugh.

"I hate you."

"Okay," Magnus said and Alec shook his head.

"Goodnight Magnus Bane," Alec said and leaned against the phone as much as he could. Like that would get him any closer to Magnus. But he tried.

"Goodnight Alexander Lightwood," Magnus responded. "Sleep tight and have sweet sweet dreams about me."

"Okay."
