Kagome, who had been silently walking next to Inuyasha, looked up at the sky, "they are going to start crying soon."

Inuyasha looked at her oddly, "who?"

She pointed to the sky, "the lost souls, they are stuck here in the in-between so they cry."

he gazed up at the sky, figuring it best to humor the clearly delusional woman. "uh-huh...and what is an in-between?"

"The sky. If people believe in such foolishness as Heaven and Hell then the lost souls must have an in-between."

He raised a brow, "so you believe in Heaven and Hell?"

"No...such a fantasy is foolish, I believe Hell rose onto earth and called itself a planet, I believe Heaven was destroyed long ago by corruption if it even ever existed, I believe when we die we go into the in-between becoming lost souls haunting the hellish earth, I believe that It rains upon our hellish existence when they cry, And I believe they cry because they wish their souls had died so they no longer had to look at this disgusting planet we refuse to call Hell."

"And for the souls who are not lost?"

Kagome turned to look at Inuyasha and smiled at him sadly, "Oh Inuyasha...we are all lost here."

Everyone had stopped to listen to Kagome's speech and were now sunned into silence, Rin spoke first, "wow...Kagome...thats, thats so beautiful really depressing, but beautiful!I have never heard something so amazing in my life!"

Everyone nodded in agreement, everyone except Inuyasha. He narrowed his eyes at her accusingly, "didn't you say one of your favorite things was to bathe in the rain?"

Kagome looked at the sky again "mmmmhhhhm."

"doesn't that mean by your own beliefs you enjoy bathing in the tears of lost souls?"

Everyone looked on shocked as she nodded, "I love the rain, its good for the skin and makes me happy."

Inuyasha chuckled, "well aren't you just an awful little devil, getting joy from bathing in the tears of lost souls."

She giggled at him and spun around, "yes well tears of the living are much too hard to collect." She gave The Blood Hounds a pointed look before continuing their walk.

Inuyasha stepped back into stride with her and the slightly frazzled Blood Hounds followed. He looked at the smiling raven haired girl as she walked, taking in the delicate way her hair trailed behind her, the seductive sway of her hips, and the slight bounce of her loosely bandaged breasts. He leaned in and whispered, "you know getting naked for a bunch of dead people is such a dirty thing to do."

She smirked, speaking low so no one else would hear, "what can I say Inuyasha...their tears just make me so...wet."

He watched as she bit her lip and closed her eyes after finishing her breathless little statement. He nearly groaned at the want in her voice, he knew she was playing a game but he was positive she was completely unaware she was playing with fire, "is that so?"

"mhhmmm...you know what else makes me wet?"

He smiled seductively, "what?"

Kagome was starting to wonder why she even said anything in the first place, Inuyasha was clearly much more experienced than her but she wanted to see if she could make him squirm. It wasn't fair that she was the only one ever fighting off feelings, so she resolved to make him think long and hard about what he wanted from her, "well...a good fight but its just so hard to find and very few people can proved me with that."

His smile widened, "ah..I see and who might be able to do so?"

She took a deep breath and went in for the kill, hoping no one was paying attention, "well...so far only you. I get so hot when we fight...or when you look at me, sometimes just thinking about you gets me soaked." she dragged one her hands up her flat stomach and over her chest, giving it a light squeeze as she spoke.

She got her desired effect, Inuyasha looked at her dumbfounded. he had expected her to make some snide remark about him, not for her to confess that he was the object of her desire all while groping herself. A million ideas flowed through his head, most of which involved abandoning the mission and dragging her to a near by private place to test how wet he could make her. the rest of which involved him doing so after the mission. He gave her a toothy grin, "Ill just have to test that later then, take care of you and help douse the heat ne?"

Kagome frowned, not expecting his quick come back. she was hoping to leave him in the dust with weird fantasies sango said men get quite often. She thought fast back to all her girl conversations she had with Sango and Rin, everything they had ever said about pleasure. Ah ha! I got it! She smiled sweetly at him, "Nah its okay...I do perfectly fine fixing my little problem, on. my. own." She almost did a stupid girly dance when Inuyasha froze.

Inuyasha stood in the road for a second staring at Kagome, Imagining her long legs spread as she pleasured herself thinking of him, moaning his name, possibly on his bed. He shook his head willing the thoughts away and focusing on the mission before him. he started walking again and soon enough he saw the docks. He sighed when they neared the warehouse 3, glad for a distraction from his frequently wondering mind. "Okay people remember what we planned, get in, plant the bombs and get out. Kagome, you...where the fuck is Kagome?!" Inuyasha had turned away for a few seconds to talk to his men (and women) when she disappeared He growled wishing he had Shippo put a tracking device on the damn woman when thunder struck from above and it started pouring rain, perfect just fucking perfect! first the damn wench disappears and now its fucking raining! she is so dead when I see her next He ran a hand through his sopping wet hair, "all of you go! Ill find Kagome." The Blood Hounds nodded and ran off to the warehouse, prepared to battle. He looked around thoroughly pissed that he couldn't use his sense of smell or heightened hearing in the storm. He scanned the docks for any sign of her when a flash of black jumped onto a ship in the distance, it was nothing but a blur but he didn't want to ignore it, even if it wasn't Kagome it could be something he could take his anger out on. He walked over to the ship silently and jumped onto the sleek deck looking around for any sign of Kagome. Another flash of black led him bellow deck and into an empty hallway, empty minus him and a soaked female in black. He noted the fact that she was dressed like Kagome, everything down to the bandana around her neck. Although she was dressed similar she was noticeably less curvaceous and her black hair was tinted brown instead of Kagome's blueish tint. He was also positive that the eyes hiding behind her bangs were not Kagome's unearthly sapphire blues, still the girl seemed familiar to him somehow, "who are you?"

The girl lifted her right hand and pointed to the bandana.

Inuyasha's eyes darted to her now bare wrist, Kagome's one of a kind bracelet pledging her loyalty was not there, that alone told him she had not hurt Kagome in anyway and stolen her clothes. Instead of her bracelet was a bluish black tattoo of the necklace he wore, the woman was undeniably a Blood Hound. No one else in Japan could possibly have one of those tattoo's, He studied her for a moment before his eyes widened in surprise, "Kikyo?"

The girl looked up revealing cold brown eyes, "It took you quite some time to figure that out Inuyasha..do we really look that alike?"

Inuyasha snorted, both at her usual dismissively cold tone and question, "no you look nothing like Kagome."

Kikyo smiled slightly and reach out to him, "I know...Im glad you see that too."

He leaned away from her touch, "uh-huh..have you seen Kagome?"

She shook her head, "No...did your pet run away?"

Inuyasha bit back a growl, for some reason he hated anyone else calling Kagome his pet but at the same time he knew he couldn't say the same thing he had when Kikyo had called her his pet when she was in a coma. he couldn't say she wasn't his pet because its exactly what he called her and wanted her to be...but somehow it felt different coming out of Kikyo's mouth...less playful and more disgraceful. He hated anyone making Kagome sound disgraceful, "don't call her that."

Kikyo raised a brow, "but thats what you call her isn't it? In a way wasn't I your pet once? you even said so when she was in a coma."

A sick feeling twisted in Inuyasha's gut as the memory came back.

Flashback

"Inuyasha, this must be very stressful for you. having your new pet so sick." Kikyo stood behind Inuyasha's chair running a had through his hair while he sorted through paperwork.

He frowned at his desk, "Kikyo she's not my pet."

"Oh is that so?" Kikyo moved around to sit in Inuyasha's lap, leaning in to kiss him, "I still think you could use a...distraction though."

her eyes widened when Inuyasha pushed her away slightly, "remember how you asked if Kagome was screwing me to get what she wanted? well maybe you should take a look in the mirror, sex wont make me shorten Kagome's deadline and Kikyo?"

"Yes?"

"If anyones my pet its you. I have you well trained for a reason so if I want you, I'll call for you. You can go now."

Inuyasha suddenly wanted to throw up, he had called Kikyo his pet. But he never meant it in the same way he did when he calls Kagome pet, "Its not the same."

Kikyo gave a slight eye roll, "just because you call her pet instead of your pet doesn't make it different, you want her at your beck and call to fuck. just like you did me."

Inuyasha racked his brain for something to say, some way to deny what Kikyo had just said, nearly wincing when he found none. even this morning when she told me she loved me I tried to turn it around and have sex with her..He felt his ears flatten on his head as a slight wave a shame washed through him, she hadn't even expected him to love her back, girls usually expect that...or at least hope for their feelings to be returned right? They did, he knew they did and if his ears could recede any further they would have, Kagome expected nothing out of her love for him, and he had done nothing to prove her wrong..or even show the slightest affection for her when she had said she loved him. he blinked at Kikyo who was staring at him triumphantly, like she had won. He glared at her, "Its different."

She waved a hand at him, "really? because she has yet to spread her legs for you? Just ask her, tell her you need her once and see what happens. I can guarantee she will hand over her virginity in a heartbeat, you trained her well i'm sure."

Inuyasha grit his teeth together, "She wouldn't, Kagome has more self-respect than that she wouldn't spread her legs for just any man."

"but your not just any man your her owner, aren't you?"

Inuyasha closed his eyes grinding his teeth together, sure he had said he owned her before but she wouldn't spread her legs for a man who claimed to own her, but she would for a man she loved, she said it herself you idiot. she said she wants to give herself to the man she loves then she told you she loves you. Inuyasha hated that he knew Kikyo was at least partly right, Kagome wanted to give herself to him. for different reasons he knew and she wouldn't just because he asked he was almost positive she would want her feelings returned first. Kagome was a smart girl she would sooner move on then give the virginity she worked so hard to keep in tact to a man who never claimed to love her back, she would give it only if she was loved in return right? "She's better than that, she wouldn't."

Kikyo looked at him thoughtfully, "are you sure? or do you just wish she was? you seem awfully fond of your new pet. almost loving." her last words where spat out in an uncharacteristically heated disgust.

He glared daggers at her, "I don't love Kagome I never will."

"your answer was a little fast, don't you think?"

She was right, it was much to fast of an answer and sounded a lot like denial.

He narrowed his eyes at her, "An answer is an answer."

She nodded, "yes I suppose, and you love her like you should have loved me."

He growled, "I should never have even touched you."

"Why? Because you know that she will always wonder if she's just some toy? because she will always compare the sex you both share to what you might of had with me? because when you finish with her and send her off with some clever made excuse she will know that she is no different than the girl you called a whore?"

Inuyasha snarled, "shut up."

"No different than the girl she despises for being weak? She will slip into bed with you and tell herself she's making love to the man in her arms when in the back of her mind she know to you, she's just a replacement whore?"

"shut up!"

"because as much as she wishes for it, you will never say the words because you hate attachments?"

"I SAID SHUT UP!"

Kikyo stopped for a second, "why, because you hate the truth?"

Inuyasha ran a hand roughly through his hair, "its not the truth, you where nothing but a whore I would use! Kagome is different!"

"is she? is she really?"

Another snarl made its was through inuyasha's grit teeth, "yes! completely!"

"And how the fuck is she different?"

"Because I love her Kikyo! Damn it! I love her! are you fucking happy now!?"

She frowned at him, "No. I want to know why you would love her but not me, I am so much better."

Inuyasha chose to ignore her ignorent statement, "Why are you wearing Kagome's clothes?"

"they are mine actually, why do you love that idiotic and violent woman?"

He ignored her question again, "Okay why did you dress like Kagome?"

"to catch your attention. to show you how stupid it is to blindly follow a women in cargo pants and combat boots. to prove that its all just an appearance. you fell for an idea Inuyasha."

He rolled his eyes and turned around to walk off, "No. I fell for one hell of an exotic animal, now go back to base Kikyo."

She laughed bitterly, "You act as if she's a whole other species. as if she's some amazing creature you have never seen before."

He turned back to Kikyo and smirked, "thats because she is. I would assume Kagome's once roamed the earth freely but now theres only one. I got myself a one of a kind creature, she fell from her perch on an old building and tried to stick a knife through my eye. She had me captivate the moment she took me back to her den and murdered to men In an alleyway without an ounce of remorse. Kagome's are lightning fast and smart as hell, dangerous but beautiful. so beautiful she could bring a man to her knees. Never have I met anything as stunning as her, so naturally I put her in a species all her own." with that he turned back an exited the ship, not bothering to see Kikyo's reaction.

Back with Kagome:

Kagome had run off the moment Inuyasha turned his back, she saw something interesting. She wanted to catch it. She had always had a weak spot for interesting things, thats why she kept Inuyasha's sword for so long. Hell maybe thats why she stuck by Inuyasha long enough to fall in love with him, He was interesting after all. But this thing was a different kind of interesting, where in Kagome's mind Inuyasha and his sword were the pretty kind of interesting like shiny objects she found of the street -not that she would ever tell Inuyasha she found him pretty, in a masculine way of course- this was the kind of Interesting that made her skin crawl like the blood soaked metal rod that went through her body before she slipped into a coma. That was interesting in a way she wished had left a scar so she could poke it but at the same time gross. very fucking gross and disturbing. yeah, this thing was interesting like that and Kagome knew that it couldn't be good. She was chasing it quietly as it moved the docks and it started pouring rain. she could barely see a thing and her bangs instantly flatten over her eyes, she pushed them back and groaned in annoyance. she wished she had Inuyasha's enhanced eyes so she could find the thing she was chasing or at least figure out where the hell she was, she became lost in the elaborate maze of ships and docs. She sighed and walked along the doc, jumping onto a ship that she thought would be good to stay dry until she figured out where she was and was able to get back to The Blood Hounds. apparently the interesting thing had the same idea because when she went below deck she saw wet footprints. She was about to follow the prints when she heard the door to the deck creak slightly she ran down the hall and ducked into the first door she saw. Seconds later a sopping wet Inuyasha passed by she was about to step out when he spoke, "who are you?"

Kagome frowned, who am I? why the fuck would he ask that? cant he smell me over this dusty ass thing? shouldn't he know who I am?

She was about to make some rude reply about haunting sailors and him being so kind to shove a mast up his ass when he spoke again, "Kikyo?"

Kagome was going to jump out and stab him when another voice rang through the halls, "It took you quite some time to figure that out Inuyasha..do we really look that alike?"

Kagome fell silent. not sure what to do now, the thing she was chasing had been Kikyo and now she was talking to Inuyasha. Any other time she would have just walked out and flipped off the other girl before walking off, but something told her to stay still and listen, and listen she did. She almost giggled when he tried to blow Kikyo off in favor of finding her, but all humor was lost to her when discovering Kikyo had once been his 'pet' she may find the nickname annoying but she was okay with it because it was hers...he gave it to her...at least she thought he did. she bit her lip nervously when he called it different, she wanted to know how it was so different. she nearly screamed when it seemed he didn't have the answer. She almost cried when he defended her, saying she would never just have sex with him when she knew he was wrong, she would. she let the tears fall when he said he would never love her. Burning hatred went through her when Kikyo listed off those awful things she was apparently doomed to. her heat stopped when he said he loved her. Everything around her seemed to freeze as his words flew around her head, her face heated up when he called her exotic described her as some amazing creature and then left. Kagome waited a few seconds until she heard Kikyo exit the ship, then she ran, she ran off the ship and down the dock through the pouring rain. she could only hope she was heading in the right direction. she knew she was when she saw Inuyasha a few feet ahead of her, walking casually. his senses clearly not fairing well in the weather, she couldn't help it, she grinned, "INUYASHA!"

The Hanyo whipped around at the sound of his name, seconds later he was knocked flat on his back, unable to keep his balance on the slippery wood when a young girl barreled into him in a flash of black hair tinted blue. he sighed, "damn it Kagome where have you been?"

She laughed unable to keep her mouth shut, "Inuyasha I love you too!"

Inuyasha froze underneath her, she heard me? how did she hear me? He slowly sat up, Kagome straddling his lap and nuzzling his neck in an oddly affectionate gesture, "uh...Kagome about that...well how did you hear that?"

she kissed his neck lightly, she hadn't realized how good it would feel to be loved back, she had never expected it, "I had thought Kikyo was some interesting thing so I followed her onto the ship. I hid when I heard you coming and well overheard your conversation."

Inuyasha closed his eyes as Kagome dotted his neck with soft kisses, her lips warm against the cool ocean air. He fisted his hands at his sides to keep from running them through her hair and down her back, "uh okay...and why did you chase Kikyo who you thought was an interesting object?"

Kagome smiled against his neck, "I like interesting things."

He chuckled, "ah...I see..and Kagome?"

She looked up at him, hope and delight glittering in her eyes, "yes?"

Inuyasha mentally kicked himself, he knew how important this mission was and how important Kagome was to the mission. He needed the ruthless unfeeling bitch he knew Kagome was in battle, not some happy in love teenage girl. He was pretty sure there was no way in Hell for someone to be both happy and ruthless so the way he saw it he had two choices, he could take one for the team and break the heart of the girl currently sitting in his lap by lying to her thus ensuring her bloodthirst and victory for his gang or he could be a selfish bastard by keeping his new lover and hope that it doesn't get his followers killed. unfortunately for his gang people who started wars that destroyed entire countries tended to be selfish and greedy, in his mind they would have to fucking deal with it. He sighed and pulled her slightly shivering form to him, "love yah pe- uh Kagome."

Kagome flashed him a grin and pulled him down to whisper in his ear, "You know thats awfully sweet of you but its different right?"

He smiled at her softly - a softness Kagome didn't know he was capable of- "Yeah...its different pet, very different."

with a wispy laugh she stood and threw her fist into the air, "ALL RIGHT! SAPPY SHITS DONE! LETS GO KILL SHIT!" She looked around for a second before looking at him, confused, "Uh...where are we?""

Inuyasha rolled his eyes, well I guess being selfish pays off, "About 200 feet from the warehouse you blind idiot."

Kagome scoffed, "oh shut up not all of us are ninja poodles with magically enchanted seances."

He growled at her, "Im an Inu."

She shrugged, "Poodle, Inu what does it matter? They are both annoying fluffy little dogs anyways." with that she started walking in the direction of the warehouse.

Inuyasha narrowed his eyes at her, "I thought love was supposed to change women."

Kagome looked at him over her shoulder, "Really? I thought sex was supposed to do that...damn and here I was looking forward to becoming more violent."

"What the fuck makes you think you would become more violent?"

"Im sorry? do you see all of this," she gestured to her body and knife belt, "walking around in bubblegum pink dresses welcoming you home with a smile and a kiss after a long day at work?"

Inuyasha shivered, "thats disgusting."

"exactly Im much more fight to the death in all black go home with you and play on your waterbed after a long bloody day at work"

He chuckled, "Play on my waterbed?"

Kagome giggled, "wink wink, nudge nudge...oh look the warehouse. so do I go now boss?"

"you know it."

She grinned and started climbing up the fire escape, excited to get the mission over with it had been much too long since she got a good kill.

Inuyasha watched her go through a broken window before walking to the side door of the warehouse and straight into the battle. He walked straight into a bloodbath. the floor was stained red with blood from both sides, mixing with the water dripping from his body and running across the normally gray floor. Blood Hounds and Spiders where everywhere fighting, bleeding, dying. He smirked from his place at the edge of the room, shoving his hands in the pockets of his cargo pants watching the scene play out before him, just as he planned. Any second now Kagome should make her appearance, the moment he saw her shadowy form move across one of the bridges he stepped out of the shadows and drew his blade. As he did so several demons came rushing at him, they were nothing major, with a roll of his eyes he crouched down and dipped his fingers in the blood on the floor. He examined the blood for a moment with mild interest before his gaze flicked back to the demons rushed at him He sighed and flicked his wrist towards them muttering, "blades of blood." Once the bodies dropped to the floor and the smell of death in the room enhanced Inuyasha grinned, and watched as a much more powerful, much larger demon barreled toward him, huge yellow teeth bared and milky eyes directed at him, this time he removed the sword from his shoulder and dragged it across the demons body, severing the ugly brown thing in half. He faintly wondered why such weak things were lurking here when his yokai was picking up something much more powerful, powerful and familiar. He placed his blade flat on his shoulder, sniffed the air and narrowed his eyes, catching nothing but blood and death. he shrugged figuring the fight would come to him, for now he needed to wait for Kagome. His wait wasn't long at all, a blur of black flipped through the air and he felt pressure added onto his blade, he turned his head back to see Kagome still in her landing pose; eyes closed, one foot in front of the other, arms spread out with a knife in each hand. She looked like an avenging angle to him in that moment, as if sensing his thoughts her eyes snapped open revealing the gem like pools of blue he was sure he would never forget and she smiled, a slow easy smile like she had been walking in the park not killing people over weapons in a warehouse. He smiled turned to a feral grin as she twirled on his blade and whipped a knife off in another direction hitting a demon that was about to kill on of his men, the blade lodged itself into the demons skill, killing it. Sat on Inuyasha's blade in a crouch as her eyes slowly shifted to meet his and her head cocked to the side, "what are we waiting for? I did as you asked."

Suddenly the room seemed to fill with wind, kagome made a soft grunt of surprise and adjusted her footing in Inuyasha's blade. one the wind had settled he looked at her and pointed to the center of the room, where floating on a feather was a pale women with bright red eyes and hair pulled back into a tight bun. she stood there looking both regal and odd in her red trimmed white pantsuit, she whipped a small about of blood from the bright yellow belt around her waist before looking at Inuyasha, he deep red lips curving into a small frown, "Inuyasha."

Inuyasha flashed Kagome a grin, "thats why, Hello Kagura."

Kagome starred at the demon women Kagura, "do I get to kill you too?"

Kagura sneered at her, "you insolent little bitch, you couldn't if you-"

Kagome launched a knife at Kagura, then another, and another, and another.

Kagura raised her fan and deflected the blades to different areas in the room, "didn't anyone ever teach you-" another knife came whirling past her and she barly had time to dodge it, it skimmed her cheek drawing a thin line of blood, "DIDNT ANYONE EVER TEACH YOU NOT TO INTERRUPT PEOPLE?!"

Kagome smiled, "did anyone ever teach you not to wear white to a battle?"

Kagura growled at her and Inuyasha chuckled, "off the sword pet."

Kagome frowned, "awwww but I wanted to stab her!"

"You have plenty to do still." he winked at her knowing she would understand.

Kagome grinned at him as if he was the most amazing thing in the world, "I make building go boom?"

Inuyasha nodded, "yes Kagome, you make building go boom."

Kagome laughed and launched of the sword using the chains hanging from the ceiling to climb up and out of the warehouse. once she had left, Inuyasha looked back up at Kagura and raised his sword, "well...its been a while Kagura, still pinning after my brother?"

Kagura gave a short humorless laugh, "not anymore Inuyasha Im done with you pesky mutts." With that Kagura raised her fan, "After you Im killing your brother."

Inuyasha grinned, "your one hell of an Idiot. I didn't come here to fight you woman...you really should have payed more attention."

"wha-" The building shook and Kagura looked around before her eyes widened in realization, "THAT BITCH!"

outside:

The Blood Hounds all stared at Kagome as she cackled manically, not even Sango or Rin dared to go near her. Kagome spun around in circles laughing in the rain,"Building go boom!" she laughed one more time before halting her movements and pulling out a small remote, She gave the warehouse a predatory grin, "DIE BITCH!" she clicked the button and chucked the remote into the ocean.

Miroku frowned at her, "uh...Kagome what about Inuyasha?"

Kagome frowned at him before hitting her fist into her open palm, "ohh I know!" she turned back to the building, "INUYASHA! HEAR INUYASHA! INNNUUUUUYYYYAAASSSSHHHAAA!"

"JEEZE WOMEN! IM NOT A FUCKING DOG!"

Kagome giggled as Inuyasha walked from the collapsing building, "then what about you ears?"

He glared, "shut up."

She shrugged, "just stating the fact's...c'mon Rin your my ride and I'm bored theres nothing else to kill."

Rin was about to say something when Inuyasha spoke up, "your coming with me pet."

Kagome looked at him confused, "why?"

"are you hungry?"

"well...yeah Im always hungry."

"Ill buy you dinner."

Kagome grinned, "cool! where are we going?"

"wherever."

"I want pasta. its rainy and I want pasta."

"ooookay"

She clapped her hands together and laced her arms through on of his tugging him off in the direction they originally came, "well hurry up! Im hungry!"

The Blood Hands stood staring at the two, none of them had seen Kagome so...touchy with anyone and never have they seen Inuyasha let someone cling to him like she was. As the couple walked off Rin and Sango squealed and high fixed, Miroku looked at them confused, "did I miss something?"

The two girls just squealed and began heading off toward the car.

Miroku shook his head and looked at the other gang member, "you know what I don't care right now, Im too fucking tired. Im going home."

the rest of The Blood Hounds followed after too tired and cold to process anything else.
