Hello Hello! next chapter finally! sorry for dropping off the face of the earth for a while, I was on an electronic free mediation retreat and then my laptop broke! life sucks like that. anyways I shall start updating all my stories again starting with Crime Life of course! so thank you my readers for waiting and here is your next chapter!

Kagome swung open the door revealing clean white halls and perfectly polished floors, "This entire building is for the care of traveling rebels and those who live in this zone, it still functions as a normal hospital but a huge majority of our staff live in the modified top level, its like apartments up there."

Sango pointed off to a much darker hallway, "whats over there?"

Kagome pursed her lips and turned to a nurse walking by, "why is that hallway open?"

The nurse looked at her shocked, "oh..leader! well...Doom and Gloom had it opened."

"why?"

She shifted uncomfortably, "the last ones gone.."

Kagome nodded and dismissed her, "that was our intensive care unit for those no longer in their right mind. We couldn't kill of people who had fought for us and became both physically and mentally damaged because of it...so we set up the M.P.I.C.U to make their end easier. it was dangerous so we had to keep the doors locked, a lot of them were sensitive to light so we kept them low.."

Inuyasha furrowed his brows at the pain etched in Kagome's voice and discretely gave her hand a soft squeeze to comfort her, knowing she would hate to appear weak by being distressed and in his arms. She had to stay strong for her people even when in a danger free zone. Kagome squeezed his hand back softly. Sango nodded, "oh...the Mental and Physical Intensive Care Unit...it must have been tough."

Kagome released Inuyasha's hand and shrugged, "life is tough, you learn to live through it."

She nodded, "So...why was there a need for a whole unit like that, things like that cant possibly happen often."

Kagome tensed beside Inuyasha and the bustling floor went still, everyone silent. Kagome's humorous, bitter, laugh caused The Blood Hounds to tense as well, "The Spiders and us...had a little disagreement, its not talked about anymore. not here, not anywhere else near my rebels either." She gave each Blood Hound a pointed look that screamed 'shut up and don't ask or ill kill you.' Needless to say the subject was dropped.

Kagome led them through the hospital pointing out things and saying hello to people, Inuyasha noticed with utter satisfaction that Kagome was more at ease in the peace zone than most place's. She seemed to leave a bit of her rough exterior behind, letting a loving women shine through with small gentile smiles. He found himself having to restrain from tasting that sweet smile of hers on more than one occasion. He knew how much Kagome hated personal display's of affection, He on the other hand loved publicly touching her, holding her close, kissing her until her eyes filled with lust and her scent laced with arousal, to him it just showed all other males she was his. He knew the tattoo wouldn't be enough to ward of some males from approaching what was his an it would most defiantly not keep their eyes from wondering her body. That was easily what he hated the most, anywhere she would go, other males would undress her with their eyes. They would be less inclined to do so if his arms were wrapped around her and his tongue down her throat. He smiled at the thought, and pulled Kagome closer as she hit the button for one of the large elevators, a small surprised noise escaped her throat as his arm snaked around her waste. She looked up at him confused, "whats up?"

He grinned devilishly at her before leaning over and kissing her in the crowded elevator and whispering in her ear, "I think since that first time, elevators might actually be my favorite place."

Kagome blushed then smirked before whispering back, "really? because your bed is mine."

He growled in approval before stepping out of the elevator when it stopped, but not before stealing another kiss and her ass a quick squeeze, "your irresistible in those tiny fucking shorts pet."

She smiled before taking his hand and continuing her speech from before, "Now the twins...who left to bring Kikyo to her new room are masters of disguise and my best spies, they have gone into other rebel groups i found suspicious and even gotten themselves in with gang members who were camping out in war zones. Naturally their real names are not Doom and Gloom but real names don't really matter anymore. everyone here are fully trained but dislike combat or simply cant do it anymore. I used to vacation here sometimes..its nice. Considering our current alliance, any Blood Hound that is in need of assistance on the go or a place to stop, your welcome here. feel free to explore and remember no violence!

Inuyasha waited until they had all left to explore the peace zone to pull Kagome into a hug and place his chin on the top of her head, "I'm sorry about your men pet."

Kagome smiled into his chest and breathed in his woodsy sent, "your so not sorry about them."

He shrugged, "but I am sorry that what happened to them hurt you."

She felt herself flush at his statement, she still wasn't used to the moment's where he was sweet, "thank you Yasha."

He purred soothingly at her in the way he would so many nights when they lie awake, "no problem pet...but Kagome?"

"hmmmm?"

"those video conference's I saw between you and your rebels, I never saw a sector with two leaders."

Kagome let out a soft laugh, "very few people outside if this zone know the twins are well...twins. even fewer can tell them apart."

"I'm assuming you can."

"naturally."

He brushed her hair back and sighed, hating that he was about to brake on of the few peaceful moments he ever had with Kagome, "why didn't you tell me that you were in charge of this zone the moment I told you this is where Kikyo was being sent to? better yet, why didn't you tell me your plan?"

"You would have disagreed."

He hated how she stated that as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, "you lied to me."

"I never once told you that this wasn't my zone and I never told you I would just sit back and let you deal with Kikyo, therefor I did not lie to you."

Inuyasha grit his teeth in frustration"Kagome."

Kagome yanked herself from his arms and crossed hers over her chest, glaring at him with narrowed eyes, "Inuyasha."

He growled low in his throat, "This is serious Kagome, you hid things from me! I thought I could trust you!"

Kagome looked at him baffled, not understanding why he was being so difficult. She was just being her, "Inuyasha you said I could do whatever I wanted as long as I was back at your place by sunset and stuff or whatever!"

This time he snarled, "THAT WAS BEFORE WE BOTH DECIDED WE LOVED EACH-OTHER!"

"Inuyasha...what the FUCK does love have to do with me being me?"

He snorted, "you being you? no Kagome that was a blatant disregard for my rules, you always at least followed them before. this is..this is..."

"Rebellious? because Scruffy you seem to forget, that's what I am A REBEL!"

"I KNOW! Kagome, I know." He ran a hand through his hair, "I just...I don't know I guess I was hoping you were starting to trust me more as an ally."

She frowned, "I do trust you."

"No. you don't, if you did you would have told me! and I would know where the hell your war zones are and I should damn well know if your just going to turn around and betray me one day."

Suddenly it made sense to Kagome and her chest tightened as it had when Sango and Rin made her think about Inuyasha loving another, "This is about what I said in the car when I was apologizing isn't it. you though I was changing into one of your Blood Hounds." Inuyasha's ears flattened on his head, it was enough of a an answer for Kagome, "Oh Inuyasha, I told you, I would never betray you."

"But you would betray my men Kagome, I can't be sharing a bed with the enemy. I can't go around fucking someone who is perfectly fine with ripping my gang to shreds."

Kagome felt as if she had been slapped in the face, slowly she closed her eyes, trying to will the tears she knew the old her never would of shed before she spoke, "Fine. then don't." Not wanting to hear another word she spun on her heel and hurried down the hall. She didn't know where she was going, all she knew was that it could not possibly be as far away from Inuyasha as she wanted to be. So instead she went to the garage and borrowed one of Doom and Glooms motorcycles they had found and repaired, It wasn't the first time she secretly thanked them for their hobby, and she left.

A few hours later:

Inuyasha paced the conference room him and his men had been given in the peace zones base, Sango, Rin, Miroku, Shippo, and Kouga silently watching him, "WHERE THE HELL IS SHE?!"

The room flinched as one and Sango cleared her throat, "Its okay boss, you know Kagome. She's always running off and she's always home by morning she's probably just catching up, she seem's to really like it here."

"NO SANGO! ITS NOT OKAY!" He spun to face her, ears pinning to his skull, "Its not fucking okay!"

Miroku studied his long time friend, never once had he seen the man so worried and dare he say, broken. He pursed his lips and spoke to the room, "Can you all give me and Inuyasha a moment?" They did, no questions asked, all worried for their boss. Once they had gone Miroku sighed, "What did you do?"

Inuyasha half growled half whined, "what makes you think I did anything?"

"Kagome returned to a place she clearly loved and you two aren't hauled up together in some place she must know doing god knows what, you two may not be big on PDA but you two can't keep your hand off one another, and your barely without the other anymore. your a team now."

Inuyasha slumped into a chair, "yeah well not anymore."

"you two broke up? I thought for sure she would be the one."

Inuyasha let out a full on whine and buried his face in his hands, "I thought so too, god I think she was...she was so fucking perfect, there was no way she couldn't have been meant for me, all of me."

"so... you broke up why?"

"I told her I couldn't fuck a women who was fine ripping my gang to shreds. and she said fine. then don't, and then she left."

Miroku sighed, "your an idiot."

Inuyasha growled at him, "she would have betrayed me in a heart beat!"

"So you didn't trust her? God Inuyasha your fucking dumber than I thought! She trusts you more than...well probably more than anyone! and she loved you to pieces even if she's not so good at showing it, its obvious she would sooner shoot herself in the head than even think of betraying you!"

"She would be fine with killing anyone in the gang if it helped her cause! and the women never trusted me, Kagome can't trust a damn soul!"

Miroku slammed his fist into the table, "THE GANG ISNT YOU INUYASHA! AND IF SHE DIDN'T TRUST YOU SHE WOULDN'T HAVE EVER GONE AND MOVED IN WITH YOU TO FEEL SAFER SHE WOULD NEVER HAVE FUCKING LET YOU TOUCH HER! SHE'S AFRAID OF MEN BUT NEVER FLINCHES FROM YOU NO MATTER WHAT!"

"I built this gang its a huge part of me. and she doesn't flinch from you, Kouga, or Shippo either."

Miroku gave him a humorless laugh and a sad smile, "and your her entire heart, if it came back to hurt you she would never do it. as for the flinching, she does Inuyasha. She tried to hide it from me and Kouga but she does. and to her Shippo is still a child, which he is."

Inuyasha didn't know what to say, he knew Miroku was right.

"I bet she's confused and hurt right now wherever she is. and she doesn't have the people you do to confide in. she's used to secrecy, thats probably why she never told anyone her plan. She's so used to leading on her own and making the hard choices, she probably didn't know how. Kagome is one of if not the strongest women I have ever met but she is also the most fragile. you should know that better than anyone Inuyasha."

He did. how couldn't he? He had held her while she cried and seen the pain in her eyes, seen the shock on her face after her own laugh and the shyness of her smile. nomater how strong his Kagome was she was also broken, "Im going to find her."

Miroku looked shocked, "how? no one knows the War Zones like Kagome does."

Inuyasha offed a slight smile, "And no one knows Kagome like I do."

"Wai-" the door slammed leaving Miroku alone in the conference room, "well hell...what the fuck do I do now?"

A few hours later with Kagome:

Kagome lie awake in her old apartment. her home, the place Inuyasha chose to let her live an the place where this whole mess started. She knew she was being a coward but she didn't know what else to do, she had never been hurt like that before and if she was upset she could usually take it out on a punching bag or go to Inuyasha because he was better at telling her what she felt and better at making the feelings she disliked go away. Before all of this emotions other than hate and pain were foreign to her, and considering she felt too numb to hit something and Inuyasha was the reason she was feeling like this...she didn't know what to do. But she did know she had wanted to be alone, so she had gone to the one place where she knew she could be. home, although it felt less like home, it helped a bit. Kagome had always run on instinct but now she was wishing she had thought a bit more, was she too dependent on Inuyasha? Did he really think she would try to destroy him? She groaned hating the mixture of feelings she had, she wished life were simple again but at the same time didn't. she was confused, that was the only way she could describe it.

"you know if you were coming here you might have wanted to replace the door."

Kagome's head snapped up, "Inuyasha?"

"yeah pet?"

She frowned, "what are you doing here? I want to be alone."

Inuyasha stepped closer to her, "do you now?"

"yeah."

"can I say something first?"

She hesitated but nodded anyways, "I guess."

She hadn't realized it but Inuyasha had moved so he was on her knees next to her, "I'm sorry baby. I know you wouldn't betray me, and I know you trust me."

Kagome blinked in surprise, Inuyasha was never one for an apology, "you do?"

He cupped her cheek and turned her head to face him stroking her cheek softly with his thumb, "yup."

"do you think I rely on you too much? I'm supposed to be a leader and I ask you about everything I don't understand In Tokyo...or about emotions..so everything."

He chuckled lightly, "I'm an alpha male baby, I love it when you rely on me. But no pet you don't do it too much, you just haven't gotten to know the world like I have, it's natural to need some help."

"your being unusually sweet right now, and you only call me baby when your worried, I'm hurt, or you really wan't something."

Inuyasha leaned forward and buried his face in her neck, breathing in the smell of honey and rainwater he had grown familiar with and loves, "maybe its all three, I'm worried that you won't forgive me. Your a vengeful little thing. I know your hurt about what I said, and I really want you to come back with me."

Kagome smiled, "okay, but you'll be paying for upsetting me later."

"seriously?"

"seriously. I am vengeful, it's why you love me."

okHe rolled his eyes, "as long as I don't wake up missing an eye."

"No but i may be missing a tattoo."

Inuyasha whined, "No. anything but that baby. I love that fucking tattoo!"

Kagome knew that, very well. She couldn't help but smile as memories of him tracing it gently with his claws while she was still in the afterglow of orgasmic bliss, the way he would lick it when given the chance during their intimate moments, the way his hands would freeze over it while he explored her body during their kisses, his thumb stroking it as he led her places on their few dates, even his gaze resting on it as if checking it was really there whenever she was exposed to him. He loved that his name was on her body, she got it with his extreme possessive side in mind. and if she was being honest, she loved it too. she knew she couldn't get rid of it it would feel like getting rid of him too, "fine, I wont get rid of it, but I'll think of something to make you pay."

She could see his fangs flash in a smile in the dark, "I know you will pet..just not the tat, get rid of that and I will have you strapped down and have it inked right back on you."

She would have laughed had it not been for the seriousness in his voice, instead she just did what she wanted and she kissed him, "take me back to the peace zone scruffy."

He smiled against her lips, "no problem pet...but we could always do that in the morning."

"No. no sex tonight for you."

He frowned, "still its hard to travel in the dark."

"and even harder not to jump your bones in a small space. lets go. now."

Inuyasha chuckled, "okay fine. you win for now." he stood, pulling her up with him by her hand, leading her out the door.

okay so a tad serious/mushy for them but they will be back to normal in the next chapter. I promise.
