Ok, so Whenever the story switched scenes.
I was putting a lot of spaces I didn't know that they got deleted whenever I put my chapter up so now if it switches scenes there will be a :)
So if you see the smile it means the scene has changed ;)
The Next day Clorine trying to stay calm, she was still pretty freaked from the man.
Did he take the book? Has he been watching me? Where he come from and where he go? So many thoughts swirled around in her mind as she cleaned.
She shivered at the thought of someone watching her every move. Creepy!
Moving down the hall, she heard voices again must be the king talking to that man again, I wonder if he was the one that threatened me.
Leaning against the door, she begin listening this is becoming a habit of mine
"She Found This!" a deep voice exclaimed
It is the same man! The voices match! Clorine thought
The King replied "I know nothing about any of that."
"I think she should go" the man growled
"Your overreacting about something that didn't happen and doesn't exists." Phillip said
"I'm telling you that girl is up to no good," the man said earnestly
"Even if she is by time the wedding is done, it will be too late." The king said
What about the boy you positive he's not going to be a problem?"
"I'm positive" Phillip replied aggravatingly
"What about him?" The man asked
"He is useless, there's not a chance that he could pose a threat to my plans" Phillip said
A chill ran up Clorines spine at the coolness and menacing tone of the king's voice.
Her head jerked towards a shuffling sound, she looked around nothing was there but she thought she saw a flash of something blue.
Noticing that the men were no longer talking Clorine quietly ran down the hall before they came out.
:)
"Your Majesty"
The King glanced up at the guard, "What is it?"
"Today when you were in your study, the maid was eavesdropping" The Guard said
Phillip straitened "Was she now? … Interesting. You are dismissed."
The Guard bowed and walked off.
"I told you She was trouble" A deep voice from the shadows said
The King shrugged "I know nothing and if she's careless and gets hurt, well its not my job to protect her."
A Deep chuckle filled the room as the man in the shadows left.
:)
Clorine walked up to the attic and flung the door open "Lance we need to talk."
He jumped slightly at the chilling seriousness in her voice "About what."
"Phillip." Clorine replied
"What about him?" he asked
She looked Lance in the eye "are you positive that no matter what Phillip would never hurt you."
He fidget a little under her strict gaze "yeah, I already told you he wouldn't dare, it would be like him sighing his own death sentence."
Clorine squinted her eyes "hmm."
"Why, do you keep asking?" He asked
She started pacing slightly "Because. This might be hard to hear, but he's planning something and I don't think it's good,"
Lance followed her around the room with his eyes "What makes you think that?"
"I sorta overheard him talking to someone." she replied
"Well… whatever he's planning if he's planning something, it won't work, he can't hurt me" Lance said reassuringly
"If you're sure." she said as she stopped pacing
He smiled "I am. Besides, you probably just missed heard him or something."
:)
The Next day Clorine kept replaying the conversations, she had over-heard in here mind, Why did he sound so evil? What was he planning? Was he even planning anything? Maybe I'm over reacting? Why doesn't Lance believe me? She was so frustrated with herself for not making any progress with anything! Well, except cleaning this upstairs bedroom.
"Hi"
Clorine jumped and spun around ready to hit something
"Whoa." Lance exclaimed backing up
She relaxed slightly "Lance don't sneak up on me like that!"
"I didn't sneak" he muttered
She raised an eyebrow "are you willingly out of the Attic?"
He smiled "Yup"
"Why?" she asked going back to cleaning
He shrugged "Your cleaning rooms that are closed to the Attic and hardly anyone comes up here, so I thought I keep you company."
She smiled "Ok, It will be nice not to be alone"
"You seem tense," he said after a couple of minuets
She glanced at him "me tense? Puh. No"
His eyebrows raised "ok, not tense got it."
She rolled her eyes
Lance picked up a rag and started helping her wipe stuff off "I was wondering if I could ask you questions"
"About what?" she asked, looking at him
"Your parents," he replied
She tilted her head "since you know nothing about yours, you wanna know about mine?"
He nodded
She sighed "Truth be told there's not much to tell."
"How so?"
"My Father died when I was very young, My mother never talked about him. She rarely talked at all other then teaching me stuff and scolding me" Clorine replied
He glanced at here and noticed she had stopped cleaning "how he die?"
She shrugged "I don't know, Mother refused to tell me. She's very firm and strict"
"Oh" He said
"A According to my mother's friend she wasn't always that way." She said
"What changed her?"
She smiled faintly "My Fathers death, according to my mother's friend, my dad brought out the best in her."
"I'm sorry" He said sincerely
"It's ok" She gave him reassuring smile.
Andrews walked into the room. "Your Highness?"
Lance and Clorine turned around.
"Andrews!" They both exclaimed at the same time
He chuckled "I see you went to the Attic"
Clorine flashed him a smile "Maybe"
"Andrews you know Clorine?" Lance asked
Andrews nodded "met her when she first arrived."
Clorine shook her head "Wait. How do you know Lance?"
"I've known him since a week after he was born." Andrews replied
Lance nodded towards Andrews, "I've known him for as long as I can remember"
"Why didn't you tell me?!" she asked both of them
"He doesn't like people bothering him" Andrews answered "or that's what he told me apparently that doesn't apply to girls"
Lance face turned slightly red "He asked me not to tell anyone he knew I was up here."
Clorine looked at them suspiciously "uh-hu"
The Both sent her cheeky grins
She was about to say something when a Voice echoed through the castle calling Andrews
"I have to go shift change" Andrews said before walking off
"Wait" Clorine called "It's quicker to go that way"
"I know, but that would be heading north east Andrews replied before jogging off
She looked at Lance, "What does that mean?"
He shrugged "Andrews hates going Northeast, No one knows why."
"That's odd," she said "Doesn't he know that he'll go North east eventually?"
Lance nodded "Yeah, he just says never to start a journey going north east"
"OK." she said, slightly dragging It out
"Well this room is clean. Now what?" he asked
She sent him a mischievous smile "You wanna help me double cheek the secret passageways?"
"Fine, but only the ones upstairs, anywhere else you're on your own." he said
She rolled her eyes "Some knight In shining armor you are"
:)
Clorine checked the last passageway off her list "Lance was right, they are sealed tight."
She looked at the book "Where do these tunnels lead?"
"Don't know."
"Clorine jumped "Lance!"
"What?"
She glared at him "I told you not to sneak up on me! And I thought you said you wouldn't come down the stairs"
He shrugged "Changed my mind"
"OK." she pointed at the book "These tunnels I think there other exits"
"But wouldn't someone had found them in the castle and marked them?"
She shook her head "I don't think there in the castle."
"You think they lead out?"
She nodded "Yes. Think if there was an attack on the castle and it caught fire, Why would you stay in the castle? You need a way out without getting killed."
"Pretty good theory."
"Thanks. Also" she took her finger and traced a line "I think this is supposed to be the Castle's outer wall."
"If so, this gap here would be the front doors" Lance said
Clorine nodded "Which means." she said, pointing to a tunnel "This should come out either by or in the stables. I'm going to go check it out"
Lance smiled "Good Luck"
"Thanks," she said before running off
:)
Clorine sighed in frustrated she had looked every were and found nothing "Maybe I was wrong about that tunnel" She said to herself as she leaned against the back wall of the stable. She looked down and noticed a little shovel hidden in the dirt. She bent down to pick it up, but it pulled and stopped
"Odd" she said before the ground disappeared under her feet.
She groaned as she sat up and rubbed her head "There should be a sign that says "disappearing ground beware" "
Standing up, she looked around "There is a tunnel! I was right!"
She walked a little way's into it "I wonder if there's a light?"
After looking around a little more she found a torch and some matches "Perfect!"
Walking down the tunnel she noticed there were several different passages, She pulled out the Book that Lance had given her.
"Lets see I think this is the hallway where that man threaten me." she followed the directions in the book it led her to a dead end.
"OK, maybe this is it," she sat the torch in a holder on the side wall and walked up to the wall in front of her "How does this thing open?" she looked around and finally found what looked like a handle chipped out of the stone she grabbed it and pulled the wall slightly gave so she pulled harder and before long there was a gap be enough for her to squeeze through.
Clorine stepped out of the passage and came face to face with a very confused Lance
"You were.. How did? The Wall?" he asked before shaking his head
She laughed lightly' "It's a passageway! I found the other end of the tunnel behind the stables"
He stared at her "wow"
"I know!" she exclaimed before asking "why aren't you in the attic?"
He chuckled slightly "first its why do I stay in the attic, now it's why are you out of the attic. Anyway, Phillip wanted to know if I wanted to meet his bride when she arrives and I was on my way back to the attic when the wall started moving and then here you are"
She smiled "fair enough. Anyway, do you know what this means?"
"What means?" he asked, tilting his head
She pointed behind her "The passage way."
He shook his head
"You said you were hearing voices when no one was around" Clorine said
Lance slowly nodded
She nodded towards the opening in the wall "They were probably coming from the passageways. Which means you are perfectly sane"
He once again stared at her
"Think about it Lance. I saw the shadows to and people could have been in the passageways talking. Everything that made you think you were crazy an explanation has practically been found!" She exclaimed
"But if I'm not going crazy that means it's possible..."
"That your mother wasn't crazy," she finished
His face light up in a smile "This is great!" He said giving her a hug
She blushed "yeah."
He started walking towards the attic "come on"
"Where are we going?" she asked, walking after him.
"I found something I want to show you," he replied
"Ok. Oh, hold on I need to close this" she said before running back to the wall "well how do you close it from out here?"
Lance walked back over to it "how you get it open?"
"By pulling it from the inside." she answered, "I have to go back in there and push it to get it to close, because there's no handle out here to pull."
"Oh well… you go in and close it and leave trough the stables I'll meet you in the attic" he said
She nodded "OK see you there in five minutes"
After pushing the wall close she grabbed the torch and took off running back the way she came. She turned a corner and ran into something she looked up and gasped standing in front of her was a man. She couldn't see his face, he tried to grab her arm, but she dodged him and took off running.
Think were to go? It's dark, I dropped my torch, and I have no idea where any of these tunnels lead! She could hear the man running after here.
:)
Lance looked out the little window in the attic "Where is she?"
Clorine hadn't returned from the passageways and the sun was know setting
He paced around the attic before looking out the window again, he saw a dark figure on a horse come out of the forest and ride into the stables.
Leaving the Attic and going down to the first floor of the castle Lance looked around before finding who he was looking for "Andrews!"
Andrews jumped "your highness?"
"Have you've seen Clorine?" Lance asked
He shook his head "no. Not recently"
"Ok, thanks" Lance said quickly before running out the door
Andrews stared after him "Where is he going?"
Lance ran out to behind the Stables and froze on the ground there was a piece of Clorine's sleeve and some of the grass was slightly flattened like something had been dragged for a about two feet.
"I do not have a good feeling about this," Lance mumbled he went into the stable and got one of the horses he quickly mounted up "first to the woods" he said to himself before galloping off.
:)
"Clorine!" Lance called he looked around the woods were darker and creepier than he had expected, he continued to follow the trail of trotted down earth and grass.
After a while the trail disappeared. He dismounted
"Hello?" he called as he lead the horse
"Help" a voice whispered it was barely audible and blended with the wind
Lance looked around trying to find where the voice had come from "Clorine?"
"Hello!" the voice called still barely audible
He shivered slightly as he started walking again, he was glad that there had been a lantern and matches in the saddle bag, looking up at the sky he noticed the stairs and moon positions.
"Three in the morning." he murmured to himself, he hadn't realized how late it had gotten all his concentration had been on finding Clorine, back when he had first started to follow the trail there had been more pieces of her sleeve here and there torn on a branch, now there was nothing
"Over here!" The voice called it was slightly louder.
Lance walked quicker, he walked out of the forest only to stop "whoa" in front of him was and Old dark falling apart Abandon castle everything about it screamed spooky.
He swallowed and continued to walk towards it. "Clorine?!"
"Help!" The Voice called again, only it seemed further away than before.
If he wasn't so desperate to find Clorine he would have ran a long time ago. He walked into the castle's courtyard
"Clorine!" he exclaimed, she was laying on the ground in a heap. He ran over to her and noticed a gash on her head. "Clorine?" he asked softly
No response
He carefully lifted her up and carried her back to his horse he laid her across it and then mounted up and he held her in his arms. He nudged the horse's side with his foot, the horse took off running back to the forest
Lance wasn't sure, but he thought he heard someone call "wait"
:)
"Will she be alright?" Lance asked for probably the hundredth time
Andrews looked up at him from where he sat bandaging Clorine's head "I don't know," he told Lance like he had all the other times.
Lance sat down in a chair only to stand back up and pace a little more.
Andrews sighed "Lance walking a rut in the floor isn't going to help anything."
He stopped walking "Then Is there anything I can do to help?"
Nodding Andrews picked up a bottle, "You can go see if the castle's exam room has any more of this."
Lance took the bottle "What is it?"
"Medicine" Andrews replied
"Ok be back as soon as I can" Lance said before running off
Andrews rubbed his head "Hopefully not too soon," he mumbled as he went back to rapping Clorines head "can't think with him walking around"
After about five minuets Lance ran back in the door "Found some"
Andrews nodded "Good, I'm almost done," he stood up
"Will she..."
"I don't know" Andrews interrupted him "But I hope so what ever she hit her head on she hit it good."
Lance sighed "I was wondering something"
"Yes?" Andrews asked
"Is it possible for someone unconscious to call for help?" Lance asked
Andrews eyebrows raised "Why you ask? I though you said you found her in the basement?"
"Yeah..um I was just wondering" Lance stuttered.
"I don't know" Andrews replied "Call me if she wakes up."
Lance watched as he left the room "maybe I do hear voices that aren't there," he mumbled as he sat down in a chair but no mattered how hard he tried he couldn't get that voice out of his head
The next day Lance just sat in the chair waiting, hoping she wake up I should have listened to her. I should have gone with her. "I'm sorry Clorine please wake up"
