Chapter Three: There is No Time Like the Past
In the hospital Buffy was dreaming but she wasn't having an ordinary dream she was dreaming of events that had taken place in the past. there was a woman that looked like her but it wasn't her. She looked slightly older than Buffy and a little bit taller. The story continued on in her head like movie. She heard a woman cries of pain and the woman that looked like Buffy went to investigate. She had found two vampire standing over a woman in strange clothes with a glowing rock sitting in an alley. She heard one vampires say, "not so tough now, not fighting back now huh." as he kick the strange woman in the gut.
She had to stop this. "Hey why don't you fight someone who can actually give you a good fight." The two vampire turn to face her and she ran at them with a stake in hand. The fighting got intense as the woman defended herself and the stranger. punching one vampire in the gut and then giving it an uppercut to the jaw, finishing it off with a stake to the heart. she turned her attention back to the stranger and told her to, "RUN!"
She responded weakly, "I can't." The woman made short work of the second vampire with a simple quick stake action. The woman turned around and finally saw full damage of the stranger injuries. There were cuts and bruises all over her body and blood pouring out of her month.
The woman run over to her and started to get her up on her feet, "I am going get you some help just hang in there"
"Just get me out of here." The stranger said as they walked away from the scene of the fight blood dripping the stranger started to walk more on her own. She turned toward the woman and thanked her.
"It was nothing." she responded, "You're safe now let's just try to find you a doctor."
The stranger stopped for a moment and asked, "when will the sun rise?"
"In about an hour. Don't worry there shouldn't be any more vampires tonight." said the woman
"No doctors just lay me down here and wait for the dawn." The stranger said. The woman did as she was told and laid her down.
The woman spoke up, "I still do not understand why can't you go to a doctor, how will the dawn help?"
The stranger responded back with a question of her own, "What is your name?"
The woman answered, "Serena Trovella and yours?"
The stranger coughed up some blood and gave her name to Serena, "Kara Drax-El. You're not human are you Serena?"
"I don't know why you would say that." Serena said nervously.
Kara looked up at her, "Because of your speed and strength and the way held your own with those vampires."
Serena looked down at her, "I am human. It's just… well you see." She took a deep breath in and let out finding composure. "I am The Vampire Slayer."
"What is that?" asked Kara confused.
"In every generation a girl is chosen to fight the demons and the vampires. This girl gets strenght beyond any normal human, she is The Vampire Slayer." said Serena, "Hey now that I've told you one of my biggest secrets. Won't you please tell me why you don't want to see a doctor."
"You saved my life and told me your secret, I believe I can trust you. I'm not from around. I'm not even from this galaxy. I'm from the planet Krypton." Kara said.
Serena just rolled her eyes, "Sure you're from another planet." She said sarcastically
Kara gave the women in front of her a glare, "You fight demons from another dimension and you are having a hard time believing in extraterrestrial life."
Serena though this over for moment, "fine you're an alien but you are still hurt if you don't want to see a doctor let me take you to my watcher he knows more about things like this."
She shook her head no, "The sun will up soon and I'll be fine." Serena looked Kara over again she saw the cuts and bruises all over her and the big gash in her stomach. She couldn't believe she'd be fine.
Serena stood there still confused, "If you don't get any form of help soon I don't think you make past dawn."
"You don't understand what your sun does for me." Kara said, "You'll know soon now." Serena looked to the sky and saw the sun rising. She turned her gaze back to Kara and saw that her wounds were rapidly healing. The cut and bruises were disappearing even the gash in her stomach was closing up. Serena just stare in amazement as Kara got up.
"see much better." Kara said with a smile on her face.
"How did you do that" Serena asked shocked.
"I told you. Your sun give me powers. I have to go now there is always someone who is in danger and could use my help." Kara said as she tried to fly away. She got about five feet up when she came tumbling back to the Earth, "guess I'm more weak than I though. I think I need to rest." Serena still stunned offered to help by taking her to her watcher's home nearby. Kara took the offer to weak to decline.
