Chapter Four: The Visitor

Kara laid asleep in a strange bed as two people discuss what she is and what she was doing here. These two people were Serena and her watcher John Holmes. Serena told the tale of what happened to Mr. Holmes. He listened carefully to the story. "So what do you think she is?" asked Serena

"She says she gains her powers from the sun. You saw her heal almost immediately and try to fly off when the sun rose. I know of no demon with those abilities." Mr. Holmes said.

Serena responded back, "Yes but she did say that she was from another planet."

Mr. Holmes went to sit down, "of course most demons aren't from here. At least not originally- they have to come here from another dimension."

"So what are we going to do then?" Serena asked.

Mr. Holmes looked up to Serena from where he was sitting, "All we can do is wait she is not a menace so far and we don't know what else she can do. She is asleep for now. You go out, patrol, and see if you can find what has been killing off the vampire population." Serena agreed and left to patrol.

Out on patrol everything seemed to be quiet. There weren't any vampires out. None that could be seen. What Serena didn't realize was that she was being followed by three vampires. Buffy recognised the lead vampire. It was the slayer that had been sired by The Master. She, with two of her minions, went to attack Serena. Serena was able to take out two minions easy with stakes to the hearts.

A fight to the death broke out between the slayer and slaypire. Serena blocked a kick coming straight at her. Then she delivered a roundhouse kick directly to the slaypire's head, knocking her to the ground. She got up with ease and the fighting continued. Eventually it was evident who was going to win. The slaypire kicked Serena in the gut and brought her closed fist down on her opponent's head sending her to the pavement. The slaypire picked Serena up by the neck with one hand and began to mock the slayer in front of her. "We're the same you and I. I used to be a slayer just like you. Until The Master elevated me. You have been slaying a lot of vampires here in London. I thought you'd be a tougher kill I haven't had a challenge in decades. Oh well. The Master wants you dead. I better obey."

This news was all too much for Serena. A slayer turned, but she couldn't worry about this now. She would ask Mr. Holmes later. All she had to worry about now was getting out of this alive. She shoved the slaypire off, "Get off." she yelled. She tried to fight the slaypire off but it was no use. The slaypire grabbed her again and for her insolence she broke Serena's arm. Serena SCREAMED IN AGONY.

Though the slaypire thought no one could hear her cries let alone answer them, Kara heard Serena's screams and was coming in fast. Serena watched in terror as the slaypire was going to come at her again, but when she was about to pounce and finish Serena off for good, the slaypire went flying through the air and crashed into a building. Serena looked back to where her attacker was and saw Kara. "Are you all right? I got here as fast I could when I heard you scream." Kara said with panic in her voice.

"I'll be okay." said Serena getting up holding her broken arm, "Where'd you come from? It was like you just appeared."

"I came from Mr. Holmes' home." Kara said still clearly upset by what happened.

Serena questioned this, "How did you hear me if you were at Mr. Holmes'? It is blocks away."
Kara responded, "I can hear all the screams in this town. I could hear you all the way from Mr. Holmes'."

"But out of all the screams for help you came and found me. Why?" Serena asked.

"I better get you back to Mr. Holmes," Kara said trying to avoid the question.

Of course Kara knew why she found her so fast. When Kara first laid eyes on her she fell in love with Serena. You could tell by Kara's eyes that she was in love with the woman who had saved her life. So when Kara woke up in the strange home she wanted to be with Serena at that very moment. Kara listened carefully for Serena. That is when she heard that terrible noise. She heard Serena cry out in pain. Kara cursed herself for sleeping and she was out of the house in a blur leaving paper blowing off the desk and furniture knocked over. She got to Serena as fast as she could on foot. She was still weak; she couldn't fly yet. When she got there she saw the monster that was attacking the woman she loved. Without thinking she rushed the attacker and kicked her sending her flying through the air. Deep in thought Serena's words pulled her back to the present. "Look out," said Serena.

Kara turned around and saw more of the slaypire's minions coming. There were ten of them charging at the two women. Kara quickly picked up a stake off the ground and stabbed the two closest vampires turning them to dust. The remaining eight vampires jumped on Kara from all angles. Kara pushed them off as if they were made of paper. "I am getting tired of this," Kara said as her eyes glowed red with rage and heat. She looked at each vampire with her heat vision and made them combust on the spot. There was one left. She tried to use her heat vision but it didn't work. She was still weak from the vampire attack from the other night. She burned up too much of her reserves. Kara went to stake the last vampire but was pushed away with ease. The fighting started and it was pretty one-sided.

Kara tried to fight back but with her powers on low it was no fight. Eventually the vampire got the better of her and pinned Kara's arms to the ground. He was preparing to bite her, but before the vampire could he combusted into dust revealing Serena holding a stake. That the second time in two nights that this woman saved her life. "You okay?" Serena asked.

"Fine thank you." said Kara, "That is the second time you save my life"

Serena looked at Kara, "You don't look to good."

"I'm fine." Kara said as she collapsed Serena caught her with her good arm and supported her back up to standing.

"We should get back to my watcher we are both badly hurt" said Serena as they limped their way back to Mr. Holmes' house. "The sun will be up soon that'll make you feel better right?" Serena asked giving Kara the same look of longing as Kara was giving her. She was worried for Kara.

"Yes it should." Kara said using all her strength to stand up.
