Chapter Six: Her Medallion

Serena walked back into the house sobbing. She went and sat down in the arm chair. Mr. Holmes followed shortly behind her disoriented by everything that happened, "I know it is terrible thing she got away but will catch her yet. So... no need cry."

The Slayer glared at her watcher with great rage in her eyes, "I'm not crying that she got away you unfeeling monster. I'm crying because she is gone; because I have Feeling for her. Something I don't think you could ever understand."

This just further confused Mr. Holmes, "How could you have feeling for her?"

Serena shook her head in frustration, "I don't know... it just happened." she answered

What Mr. Holmes said next infuriated Serena almost past breaking point, "How could you care for this creature its not even a person," he asked?

Serena was so angry she screamed, "She is a person; more so than you are. That woman, goes around saving people that she doesn't even know, people who aren't even a part of her own race, and asks for nothing return." Serena gave him a glare that would strike fear in anyone, "Alike some people who just watch and don't fight the evil in this world," she finished.

Mr. Holmes looked at her, shocked by her reaction to all of this, "Be that is it may we both still work for the council. I'll be informing them of the situation as soon as possible."

Now this did push Serena over the edge. She went and hoisted Mr. Holmes by the neck of his collar, "You'll do no such thing. I don't care how long we've known each other. If you attempt to tell the council about Kara, I'll make your life is a living hell. Do we have an understanding?" she threatened. She waited for an answer, but she put The Watcher down when she saw a medallion lying on the arm of the chair it was Kara's. Her rage subsided Serena picked it up; she put it on as a promise that she would find her love Kara Drax-El and make things right.

She walked out of house and stop as she heard the voice of the man she hated most in the world right now. "Where are you going," asked The Watcher?

Serena turned to face the man one last time, "It doesn't concern you anymore. As far I'm concerned I no longer want to work with you or the council any longer."

Serena sped off and Mr. Holmes ran after her an attempt to catch her, but The Slayer was to fast. In a futile gesture he tried to yell after her, "You know you can't turn your back on the council, you have a sacred duty." Yet to no avail as it fell on deaf ears. Mr. Holmes went back into the house, sat down, and tried to contemplate how all this happened.

Serena was blocks aways when she stopped running and sat down on the steps of a porch. She sat there and stared at the medallion wondering what to do next as she tried to stifle her tears. It didn't work as she started to cry uncontrollably. In her sorrow, she cried herself to sleep.

Serena woke up and found a tall man standing over her in dark clothes staring at her. "Why are you sleeping on my porch?" the man growled

She got up and stood tall, "I was tired and had to sleep somewhere so I slept here." Serena responded with fortitude in words.

"Well you're done sleeping now so be gon…" The man stopped mid sentence when he noticed the medallion around Serena's neck, "Where did get That?" He asked using his cane to point at her necklace.

"It belonged to a friend." said Serena her voice cracking slightly.

The man stared at her for moment, "Your friend must not have been human then."

This surprised Serena, "how did you know that?" she asked the man motioned her to come into his house

Serena entered the house that was filled with all sorts of weird and out place stuff for the 1890s. There were TVs with strange symbols flashing on them. Serena was struck in awe. The man cleared his throat to get her attention, "I know because I recognize the necklace you're wearing as being to advance to be human made." He said he reach out to grab it, "here let me show you." as he started to grasp onto the medallion his hand began to sizzle and burn, steam rising from it. He let out a loud roar of pain.

"What was that about," Serena asked? Weirded out by what she saw. She has seen a similar effect on vampires when the cross touched their bare skin. But this wasn't a cross and surely the man in front of her was not a vampire. She saw him out in the light of day.

The man contemplated what just happened, "There must be some trace elements of silver in the alloy the medallion is made of." he said

"What are you?" she asked she paused for second, "Who are you?"

He stood there tall and erect, "My name is Alistair Smith. I am from the planet Terrarana and I have been stranded here for four years now."

Serena just continued to stare at Alistair, "How can you tell this necklace is alien? I mean it looks like an ordinary necklace to me."

Alistair got a rag off the table next to him and started to pull the necklace off of Serena neck. She went to stop him, but was too late. Now in his hand he spoke, "For a couple of reasons, the symbol on it I recognize it; I just don't remember which species. It certainly not human, also humans don't yet have the technology to make this alloy. It is a recording device of some kind. Here let me show you." He went over to one of the TVs and attached some wires to it images appeared on the screen. "See look at the visualizer."

On the screen appeared images of the night Serena met Kara, "How is this possible it captured the images of that night and they move with sound. Is thats my voice? Wow, does it really have that whine to?"

Alistair began to show great rage on his face. He now recognized the species, "Your friend is Kryptonian. I wish I would never connected this medallion to my technology. Filthy thing probably gave it a virus." he unplugged the medallion and threw it back to Serena, "Take it and get out my sight anyone who is friends with a Kryptonian disgusts me."

Outside the house Serena just looked at the necklace baffled by what just happened. All she knew was she had to find Kara and forthwith.

I was sick for like a week and school work piled on hopefully other chapter won't take as long
